A friend of mine who is in recovery and sober but who was into IVing drugs and using basically any drug she could get her hands on for decades even combining drugs that can kill you such as opiates and benzos together or opiates and alcohol, told me how 99% of IV drug addicts when faced with either sharing a needle and getting or staying high right then and there, versus going out to get free needles, go to a needle exchange place, buying needles, or going to a safe injection site, will choose sharing a needle as the drugs take that much priority and you do not care if you die, about your health, anyone else's health, or if you could get infected or infect someone with HIV or Hep C. My friend does not have either HIV or Hep C and she has no idea how this happened.
