Barr is blinking too much and his hair is a mess. His coloring is off too.
All this is taking a health toll.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 1, 2019 2:23 PM |
Well Lindsey Fox News plenty of material they can run over and over instead of anything important that might come out of this hearing. Trump must have some serious blackmail material on Lindsey. Someone might want to check John McCain's grave site to see if the dirt is heaved up from McCain turning over in his grave.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 1, 2019 2:23 PM |
That is precisely right, R32. It took an investigation by congress to change the public attitude on Nixon. It's what finally caused his fall.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 1, 2019 2:25 PM |
God, I hate Barr and his fat little sausage fingers.

R28:
The support for impeachment in the poll breaks down along party lines. Ninety-one percent of Republicans said there should not be impeachment hearings, compared to 70 percent of Democrats who favor impeachment hearings. Fifty-one percent of independents said they opposed starting the process, compared to 40 percent who said they supported it.
No surprise there. The problem is that Barr's gambit worked: his fake news of Mueller's findings has given people the impression that the Report didn't find Trump guilty when 1) Mueller set out from the beginning that it was not the Special Prosecutor's role, in light of DOJ policy (not law or rule or any binding agreement) to not prosecute a sitting President; and 2) the Report clearly lays out the roadmap for investigation and impeachment. I mean, how much more clearly could Mueller have stated it than "if this were literally any other US citizen, I'd recommend indictment"?

The Republicans are in full-on spin mode to save Trump's ass, and it is beyond me why. Impeach Trump, get Pence, you have an incumbent who is capable, popular, and only has the fact that he's gay and in a sham marriage to undermine his run. I'm glad they're putting everything on the line for Trump: it only cements the Republicans as the party of hypocritical lying, cheating, whore-paying slimebuckets that they are.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 1, 2019 2:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 1, 2019 2:41 PM |
Why is Barr saying that it was up to him and Rosenstein to make a ruling on whether or not Trump was guilty of obstruction? That was absolutely not what Mueller said in his report at all. He specifically states that he was recommending that Congress decide.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 1, 2019 2:41 PM |
I really don't care what Barr has to say in his opening statement since it was proven last night that he's a liar. I only care about the questions that the Democrats ask him and how he answers those questions. The Republicans are just going to shield him and keep distracting by bringing up Clinton and those evil, Trump hating FBI agents.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 1, 2019 2:41 PM |
He’s doubling down on his lies, R59.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 1, 2019 2:42 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 1, 2019 2:43 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 64 | May 1, 2019 2:45 PM |

Hillary investigation, she testified live to the FBI no subjects off limits, no written answers that she could submit to her lawyers for weeks to go over. Hillary replied 39 times some form of "I do not recall" during her live interview that lasted three-and-a-half hours.
Trump investigation, he refused to answer any questions in person only written answers that he could think about and have lawyers go over, there were subjects he refused to answer any questions about, even written answers. Trump replied some form of "I do not recall" 30 times in answers to 52 question. This is a man who claims he has one of the best all times memories in the history of the world.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | May 1, 2019 3:11 PM |
R55 you bring up a point that I'm curious about as well. Not that I want Pence in office but why are the Republicans making fools of themselves to support Trump? I'd think that Pence could just as effectively support their agenda without the extra drama that comes with Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | May 1, 2019 3:13 PM |

Because Trump's base does not necessarily equal Pence's base.
And all of the Republicans (including Pence) are addicted to Trump's base.

Nichole Wallace "he's lying". You go, girl.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | May 1, 2019 3:20 PM |
The only rationale I can conceive of is that either Trump and the Russians have dirt on a majority of Republicans, or the Republicans believe that impeaching Trump will weaken the party to the point that they'll lose the WH, the Senate and have no chance in the House (as well as all of the downticket races).
I don't think the base argument holds water, R103; Trump's base is solidly Republican and will vote for literally anyone — as we saw in 2016 — with an 'R' after their name. And that base is something like a third of potential Republican voters, not exactly overwhelming, but can't be ignored, either.
My worry, frankly, is that Pence could motivate Evangelicals in a way that Trump can't (or they can be shamed into not admitting they support Trump).

by Anonymous | reply 155 | May 1, 2019 4:09 PM |
“I think we need to take another look at Benghazi.”
by Anonymous | reply 156 | May 1, 2019 4:09 PM |
R153 to start, he's a sociopath.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | May 1, 2019 4:17 PM |
R107 Around the time Barr was appointed, I heard someone (maybe Bill Maher or Stephen Colbert) say that Barr looks like the offspring of a frog and John Goodman. Since then I can’t look at Barr without seeing Froggy Goodman.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | May 1, 2019 4:27 PM |
Russiagate transforms you--emotionally, and spiritually.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | May 1, 2019 4:28 PM |
Trump has a pee pee tape equivalent on Graham. I am convinced that Ms. Lindsay is Kompromat.
The idea that Lindsay must have been blackmailed into submission to Trump is predicated on the notion that he has a core set of principles that he would only compromise in the face of unrelenting pressure.
But it’s much, much worse – he has no principles. Not a single one.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | May 1, 2019 4:28 PM |
I know this is Datalounge, but looking for hot, sexy men in that Senate hearing room is not the forum to find such. Maybe Ben Sasse is viewed as cute by some, but they are in a room with Barr, Miss Lindsey, Grassley, Lee, etc. Just ewwww!
by Anonymous | reply 161 | May 1, 2019 4:30 PM |
the Republicans believe that impeaching Trump will weaken the party to the point that they'll lose the WH, the Senate and have no chance in the House (as well as all of the downticket races).
Bingo - they’re old enough to remember the damage the Nixon impeachment did to the party.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | May 1, 2019 4:31 PM |
Lindsey is a classic closet case. Nothing, and I repeat NOTHING scares her more than being exposed as a queer.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | May 1, 2019 4:33 PM |
Nothing, and I repeat NOTHING scares her more than being exposed as a queer.
Wrong -- losing his Senate seat is his biggest fear. Being outed -- because it would likely lead to a loss -- is just a corollary to that.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | May 1, 2019 4:37 PM |
I can’t wait for Madame Senatrix’ coming out speech ala Jerry Falwell’s tearful, “I have sinned” extravaganza.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | May 1, 2019 4:42 PM |
ala Jerry Falwell’s tearful, “I have sinned” extravaganza.
That was Jimmy Swaggart.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | May 1, 2019 4:44 PM |
Who's the Lewandowski wannabe who has been sitting behind Barr? He's hot but looks mental.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | May 1, 2019 4:46 PM |
Russians hacked Lindsey's Emails when he was running for the GOP nomination back in 2016. And then there was the dirt collector, Pecker of the NE. Also, Graham was awash in NRA and oligarch cash with ties to Russia. Kompromat and the lack of principles are not mutually exclusive. Agree r160, Graham is an opportunist with no display of honorable principles.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | May 1, 2019 4:47 PM |
Amy K and Kamala coming up
by Anonymous | reply 169 | May 1, 2019 4:47 PM |
It’s interesting (to me at any rate) that Barr has no notes of his conversations with Mueller, or, if he has, he hasn’t provided them to try to back up his version of events.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | May 1, 2019 4:49 PM |
Keep up the updates, please! Can’t see anything at work.
Thanks! 😘
by Anonymous | reply 171 | May 1, 2019 4:49 PM |
Is there a definitive answer as to whether he will testify before the House tomorrow?
by Anonymous | reply 172 | May 1, 2019 4:54 PM |
Yes and no, R172.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | May 1, 2019 4:55 PM |
Barr looks like Steve Bannon, slightly cleaned up.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | May 1, 2019 4:56 PM |
Why would Barr allow himself to become a Trump toady, and destroy his reputation forever?
Barr covered for George H.W. Bush’s involvement in Iran-Contra 27 years ago –- ending the investigation by sanctioning Bush’s pardons of other guilty parties. His “reputation” has been invented out of whole cloth by Republican loyalists.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | May 1, 2019 5:01 PM |

She's less quavery and more assertive than usual.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | May 1, 2019 5:08 PM |
Thanks , R181.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | May 1, 2019 5:09 PM |
Fucking fat Barr. Hope his legacy is completely trashed
by Anonymous | reply 184 | May 1, 2019 5:11 PM |
so Barr doesn't think Trump implying Cohen's family committed crimes in an attempt not to get him to testify or to lie for him again to be obstruction
by Anonymous | reply 185 | May 1, 2019 5:11 PM |
I need a legal type to translate what she is aiming for , anyone have any insight? thanks in advance I’m no Elle woods.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | May 1, 2019 5:12 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 189 | May 1, 2019 5:15 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 191 | May 1, 2019 5:16 PM |
SASSE’s turn
by Anonymous | reply 192 | May 1, 2019 5:17 PM |
Sasse quit with the both sides shit. The Democrats are about getting to the truth and how Barr is lying. The repubs are the ones playing politics
by Anonymous | reply 194 | May 1, 2019 5:19 PM |
i do give Sasse credit for talking about Russian interference
by Anonymous | reply 195 | May 1, 2019 5:20 PM |
I'm vaccuming my house when the Republicans are up.
by Anonymous | reply 196 | May 1, 2019 5:20 PM |
Look at that twitchy little twitch twitching.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | May 1, 2019 5:21 PM |
Sasse is not cute! I’m enjoying his line of questioning. So far, he seems the most non-partisan.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | May 1, 2019 5:21 PM |
Ben Sasse looks like he has B.O.
by Anonymous | reply 199 | May 1, 2019 5:22 PM |
Hes trying way too hard to be earnest and aww shucks nonpartisan. Vom.
by Anonymous | reply 200 | May 1, 2019 5:22 PM |
Sasse has presidential ambitions some day it's clear
by Anonymous | reply 201 | May 1, 2019 5:22 PM |
Barr is looking at Sasse like "dude we are both Republicans you are suppose to be giving me soft ball questions"
by Anonymous | reply 202 | May 1, 2019 5:23 PM |
"I love Amys quivering voice. Very honest sounding and Jimmy Stewart-ish"
But not Presidential. Sorry, Amy.
by Anonymous | reply 203 | May 1, 2019 5:23 PM |
I think Amy gets too excited when she speaks and it makes her voice quiver. Obviously she's not a weak person
by Anonymous | reply 204 | May 1, 2019 5:24 PM |
I can't wait for Kamala. I hope she makes him squirm so much the seat breaks under the weight of his moving obese ass
by Anonymous | reply 205 | May 1, 2019 5:25 PM |
Did Sasse just say it’s the Chinese government that’s the problem? I guess he’s still a Republican.
by Anonymous | reply 206 | May 1, 2019 5:26 PM |
Chris Coons is up.
Yes sasse threw China under the bus as the biggest foreign threat while kissing up to Barr.
by Anonymous | reply 207 | May 1, 2019 5:27 PM |
It’s a fantasy of mine that Mueller goes all Woodward and Bernstein on the whole lot
by Anonymous | reply 208 | May 1, 2019 5:28 PM |
Sasse is going to play that wishy washy game. He will run for president some day
by Anonymous | reply 209 | May 1, 2019 5:28 PM |
I really hate Barr's voice
by Anonymous | reply 210 | May 1, 2019 5:30 PM |
Sasse will never be president with those teeth. No way.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | May 1, 2019 5:30 PM |
I love how Barr keeps saying he released the full report. Bitch, it's redacted
by Anonymous | reply 212 | May 1, 2019 5:31 PM |
I think Republicans are concerned that the Chinese might attempt to influence the election against Trump exactly like the Russians helped Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 213 | May 1, 2019 5:31 PM |
Thank you Coons for stating why the counter intelligence investigation started!
by Anonymous | reply 214 | May 1, 2019 5:32 PM |
Good job Coons. He just slammed Chief Wiggum
by Anonymous | reply 215 | May 1, 2019 5:33 PM |
Since it's apparently legal now to accept help from foreign powers, why doesn't one of these Democratic candidates put out a full-page ad seeking any and all assistance from any country who would like to help them? And then dare any Republican to say it's wrong or illegal.
One of the lesser Democratic candidates that has no chance of getting the nomination can be the sacrificial lamb.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | May 1, 2019 5:34 PM |
ugh who is this asshole with the "spying" bullshit
by Anonymous | reply 217 | May 1, 2019 5:34 PM |
Coons nailed it, we need more like this.

by Anonymous | reply 220 | May 1, 2019 5:35 PM |
Chris Coons kicked his ass. YESSSS! This is exactly what we needed.
by Anonymous | reply 221 | May 1, 2019 5:36 PM |
R216 I hope no Democratic candidates for 2020 has even a conversation with foreign dignitaries. We all know the repubs are going to come up with a conspiracy, should a Democrat win the 2020 election and become President, that he/she was the "real colluder" and if they have control of Congress, will start an investigation mirroring the Mueller Special Counsel
by Anonymous | reply 222 | May 1, 2019 5:36 PM |
Right, R206?
At first he seemed to be going in that direction (Russia), but at the last minute he pivoted to the Far East (China).
I literally shook my head and went "Wait...whuh...????
by Anonymous | reply 223 | May 1, 2019 5:38 PM |
Can’t watch Hawley, spying my ass!
by Anonymous | reply 224 | May 1, 2019 5:38 PM |
I knew repigs would bring up the text messages. That and their bs FISA concern is all they've got. They're really going with the "coup" angle.
this currently asshole speaking is a piece of shit

OK Blumenthal don't let us down. Nail that fat fucker

by Anonymous | reply 230 | May 1, 2019 5:40 PM |
Blumenthal speaks too haltingly. I like him, and he's good, but damn he gets on my nerves.
by Anonymous | reply 231 | May 1, 2019 5:41 PM |
The Trump campaign and its members were meeting with Russians, were lying about their meetings and Russians had shown an interest in helping the Trump campaign, the FBI would have derelict if they hadn't investigated that. Hawley is a traitor.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | May 1, 2019 5:41 PM |
YES Richard get him!
by Anonymous | reply 233 | May 1, 2019 5:41 PM |
haha Blumenthal yes you tell that fat fucking liar who's boss. Interrupting him and making him wait. Arrogant fat fuck didn't like it!
by Anonymous | reply 234 | May 1, 2019 5:42 PM |
"your credibility is undermined in the department and in this committee"
I am LIVING for Blumenthal right now
by Anonymous | reply 235 | May 1, 2019 5:43 PM |
Barr just said he hasn't talked to the WH about the investigations...I find that hard to believe
by Anonymous | reply 236 | May 1, 2019 5:43 PM |
"I don't recall"
ok tub of shit is lying again
by Anonymous | reply 237 | May 1, 2019 5:44 PM |
I have such a crush on Blumenthal.
And his tone toward Barr is nothing but respectful; Barr is being an utter ass in return.
by Anonymous | reply 238 | May 1, 2019 5:44 PM |
haha Blumenthal is great
by Anonymous | reply 239 | May 1, 2019 5:44 PM |
You SHOULD recall
by Anonymous | reply 240 | May 1, 2019 5:44 PM |
so now Barr is saying he may have spoken to them but it was nothing "substantive". Of course that is a subjective word
by Anonymous | reply 241 | May 1, 2019 5:45 PM |
R236- He'll clarify it later by saying he meant he didn't talk to the WH about the investigations into Hillary's emails.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | May 1, 2019 5:45 PM |
Everyone who is applauding Chris Coons-Hell Yes! he cleaned that motherfuckers clock. Fatty Barrbuckle looked like he was on the verge of tears. But I'm sure a nice double thick ham sandwich with swiss on rye with bacon will soothe his big fat ass.
by Anonymous | reply 243 | May 1, 2019 5:45 PM |
Barr is as arrogant as he is fat as he is a liar
by Anonymous | reply 244 | May 1, 2019 5:45 PM |
Blumenthal bringing up Helsinki hell yes I don't do geriatric but I would make an exception and offer him a bj now
by Anonymous | reply 245 | May 1, 2019 5:46 PM |
Heh, R243. Fatty Barrbuckle -- love it!
by Anonymous | reply 246 | May 1, 2019 5:46 PM |
Blumenthal: Will you recuse yourself from the other investigations (spun off from Mueller's report)? Barr: NO!
by Anonymous | reply 247 | May 1, 2019 5:47 PM |
Barr is making John Mitchell look like George "I cannot tell a lie" Washington.
by Anonymous | reply 248 | May 1, 2019 5:47 PM |
Republicans used to do whatever it took to get through to the next day.
Now they're doing whatever it takes to get through the next ten minutes.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | May 1, 2019 5:49 PM |
Yeah, fat bitch, you "didn't hear the start of the question" because you were fucking BLOVIATING while the Senator was asking it.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | May 1, 2019 5:49 PM |

Let's hope Harris brings it to Barr like she brought it to Sessions.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | May 1, 2019 6:09 PM |
Mazie should have finished up by outing Miss Lindsey.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | May 1, 2019 6:09 PM |
Marsha Blackburn is an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | May 1, 2019 6:09 PM |
I'd like to see that cross on Marsha Blackburn's neck burst into flames and consume her folkiness.
by Anonymous | reply 296 | May 1, 2019 6:11 PM |

Ok booker is up
by Anonymous | reply 302 | May 1, 2019 6:13 PM |
We knew all about the investigation in to Hillary while we were voting, we knew nothing about the investigation of Trump by the FBI while we were voting. If the FBI had been attempting to sway the election we would have known about the Trump investigation.
by Anonymous | reply 303 | May 1, 2019 6:13 PM |
I don't have a tv. Has anyone given a white power signal yet to the deplorables in the viewing audience?
by Anonymous | reply 304 | May 1, 2019 6:14 PM |
I would have loved for the TN Senator to say, "When I go to Walmart, I smell....."
by Anonymous | reply 305 | May 1, 2019 6:14 PM |
Barr does not like hearing the Democrats telling him about himself lol
by Anonymous | reply 306 | May 1, 2019 6:14 PM |

Barr "what do you mean by seek to benefit?"
omg he's awful
by Anonymous | reply 310 | May 1, 2019 6:16 PM |
So far, Mazie is the star of this show. She sounded angry like the majority of Americans are.
by Anonymous | reply 311 | May 1, 2019 6:17 PM |
Barr playing dumb when he doesn't like a question
by Anonymous | reply 312 | May 1, 2019 6:17 PM |
Playing "dumb"... obvious tactic.. and old.
by Anonymous | reply 313 | May 1, 2019 6:18 PM |
Barr is starting to look like William Frawley.
About 3 weeks after he died.
by Anonymous | reply 314 | May 1, 2019 6:18 PM |
Barr bringing up Hillary
of course
by Anonymous | reply 315 | May 1, 2019 6:18 PM |
Using that tactic only solidifies his lying ass and guilt.
by Anonymous | reply 316 | May 1, 2019 6:18 PM |
so glad Booker cut him off there
by Anonymous | reply 317 | May 1, 2019 6:19 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 319 | May 1, 2019 6:19 PM |
Booker is not very sharp with his questioning. He's sloppy and not making much sense.
by Anonymous | reply 320 | May 1, 2019 6:20 PM |
Cory Booker did a very good job. He was effective.
by Anonymous | reply 321 | May 1, 2019 6:20 PM |
Booker was OK but he let Barr filibuster too much
Hirono was by far the best
we'll see what Harris does
by Anonymous | reply 322 | May 1, 2019 6:20 PM |
Looks like Tillis and then Harris.
by Anonymous | reply 323 | May 1, 2019 6:21 PM |
oh gawd that idiot Tillis from North Carolina
by Anonymous | reply 324 | May 1, 2019 6:21 PM |
Catching up on the hearings now. Mahalo Mazie!
by Anonymous | reply 325 | May 1, 2019 6:23 PM |
I'm totally amazed at just how stupid some of these Senators are. Between old and stupid, it's hard to find many shining lights. Hirono was take no prisoners.
by Anonymous | reply 326 | May 1, 2019 6:23 PM |
Mazie stands out because she's honest which is exactly opposite of the GOP.
by Anonymous | reply 327 | May 1, 2019 6:26 PM |
Tillis acting like Mueller didn't take the OLC memo about not indicting a sitting President into account. The repigs are really acting like Trump wasn't indicted because of lack of evidence
by Anonymous | reply 328 | May 1, 2019 6:26 PM |
Kamala comes out swinging.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | May 1, 2019 6:26 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 331 | May 1, 2019 6:26 PM |
Barr acting like he doesn't know what she's talking about
by Anonymous | reply 332 | May 1, 2019 6:26 PM |
Maybe this is a bit crackpot, but Barr leaves his hands in front of his mouth while talking. Body language. He’s a liar.
by Anonymous | reply 333 | May 1, 2019 6:27 PM |
Hahaha Kamala going in for the kill
by Anonymous | reply 334 | May 1, 2019 6:27 PM |

Death glare from Kamala. Thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 337 | May 1, 2019 6:28 PM |
R335 asking if Trump directed Barr to open an investigation into anyone
by Anonymous | reply 338 | May 1, 2019 6:28 PM |
This settles it. I’m voting for Kamala just to hear her against Trump in debates.
by Anonymous | reply 339 | May 1, 2019 6:28 PM |
Squeeze his balls 'til he pukes, Kamala!
GET HIM!
by Anonymous | reply 340 | May 1, 2019 6:28 PM |

KAMALA questioning...... it’s a beautiful thing.
by Anonymous | reply 361 | May 1, 2019 6:34 PM |
She would skewer trump in a debate!
by Anonymous | reply 362 | May 1, 2019 6:35 PM |
if this doesn't help Kamala's poll numbers, the Democratic base is moronic she was great today
by Anonymous | reply 363 | May 1, 2019 6:35 PM |
Mike 💩O
by Anonymous | reply 364 | May 1, 2019 6:36 PM |
The guy behind Barr, to the right on the screen. Red tie. Who is he? I need to hate fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 365 | May 1, 2019 6:36 PM |
Kamala nearly gave me a stroke. She does not play.
by Anonymous | reply 366 | May 1, 2019 6:38 PM |
Fucking Barr. Hope he ends up in handcuffs
by Anonymous | reply 367 | May 1, 2019 6:38 PM |
THAT is why I love me some Kamala. Damn, I'd hate to be on her wrong side. Can you imagine her debating Trump?
by Anonymous | reply 368 | May 1, 2019 6:38 PM |
Crapo = Mormon with a DUI. Where do they get these fools?
by Anonymous | reply 369 | May 1, 2019 6:38 PM |
I also want Harris to debate trump. That was beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 370 | May 1, 2019 6:38 PM |
Kamala could make Putin look like a wimp.
by Anonymous | reply 371 | May 1, 2019 6:39 PM |
So 3 of our candidates, Amy, Cory and Kamala all showed themselves today. I think Kamala beat them all handily. All were good but Kamala was by far the best
Mazie wins the day for saying what we wanted Barr to hear though lol
by Anonymous | reply 372 | May 1, 2019 6:39 PM |
if this doesn't help Kamala's poll numbers, the Democratic base is moronic she was great today
A lot of people vote on how a candidate makes them feel, Kamala doesn't make a lot of people feel all warm and cozy, not everyone chooses vote for someone based on the same reasons as you might.
Btw, I haven't picked a candidate to support but I will vote and support for the Democratic Nominee.
by Anonymous | reply 373 | May 1, 2019 6:40 PM |
Amy, Cory and Kamala all showed themselves today
I have to quibble with including Amy in this. She was just fine. And Booker was his usual queeny mess.
The winners of the day have been Blumenthal, Hirono, and the masterful Kamala.
by Anonymous | reply 374 | May 1, 2019 6:41 PM |
The absolute last thing I want is a warm and cozy president.
by Anonymous | reply 375 | May 1, 2019 6:42 PM |
R374
by Anonymous | reply 376 | May 1, 2019 6:42 PM |
Cruz - BOOOOOOOO.
by Anonymous | reply 377 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
Ewwww slimy Cruz. I hate this fucker
by Anonymous | reply 378 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
Bleech!!.... cruz
by Anonymous | reply 379 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
R373 I understand that but it's dumb. People also vote with bigotry and misogyny in mind
by Anonymous | reply 380 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
Ted Cruz has always looked disgusting, but Ted Cruz with a beard looks like mold on a pile of shit.
by Anonymous | reply 381 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
My fifth-favorite Kamala questioning moment, because there were so many:
Kamala: Sir, do you —
Barr: Blah blah blah
Kamala: I'M ASKING A QUESTION.
Barr: [instant silence]
by Anonymous | reply 382 | May 1, 2019 6:43 PM |
The existence and success of Ted Cruz makes me hate Texas even more
by Anonymous | reply 383 | May 1, 2019 6:44 PM |
Fuck Kavannah and his treatment. I hate Ted Cruz and hate "trying to be sincere."
by Anonymous | reply 384 | May 1, 2019 6:44 PM |
Cruz is slimy... literally looks like a slimy eel.
by Anonymous | reply 385 | May 1, 2019 6:44 PM |
Kamala was extremely impressive, blumenthal & Hirono were also amazing! I was happy booker didnt f-things up. Go dems! Definite damage was done to fat piece of poo Barr!
by Anonymous | reply 386 | May 1, 2019 6:44 PM |
His father shot John Kennedy you know.

by Anonymous | reply 389 | May 1, 2019 6:46 PM |
Trump/Pence in 2020!
by Anonymous | reply 390 | May 1, 2019 6:46 PM |
WHY WHY WHY couldn't have Beto won that election and sent this piece of shit into retirement.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | May 1, 2019 6:46 PM |
STFU, Ted Cruz.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | May 1, 2019 6:46 PM |
Cruz thinks he’s so masterful and catching Dems in a ‘gotcha,’ but she’s just a sleazy mess.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | May 1, 2019 6:47 PM |
I hate his whiny, twangy voice..
by Anonymous | reply 394 | May 1, 2019 6:48 PM |
“General Barr”?? Cruz is a purposeful moron.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | May 1, 2019 6:49 PM |
R393 the repubs on twitter are gleeful today and bizarrely think the "Democrats are being owned" but they always say that despite what the truth is.
Hopefully moderates and independents see this and realize how awful Barr is
This gives the House a lot of places to start for tomorrow. Imagine what Swalwell and Lieu will ask to piggyback off of today. I can't wait
by Anonymous | reply 396 | May 1, 2019 6:49 PM |
Wager on whether Barr shows up tomorrow at the House Judiciary Committee.
by Anonymous | reply 397 | May 1, 2019 6:49 PM |
I can’t even listen to piece of shit Cruz, tell me when it’s over.
by Anonymous | reply 398 | May 1, 2019 6:49 PM |
I like Leahy but he sounds like he died 3 years ago
by Anonymous | reply 399 | May 1, 2019 6:50 PM |
r162, Really? And what damage was that? Jimmy Carter was a one-term President, followed by 8 years of Reaganism (12, if one counts Bush 41) that changed America forever.
by Anonymous | reply 400 | May 1, 2019 6:50 PM |
Have they asked if Mueller was shut down or told to wrap up his investigation early?
by Anonymous | reply 401 | May 1, 2019 6:51 PM |
Ditto R399. WTF is wrong with his voice?
by Anonymous | reply 402 | May 1, 2019 6:51 PM |
I'm out of topic but at the start of the hearing Lindsay Graham quoted all the horrible things that Storkz and Page said about Trump in their texts. I so wanted somebody to pull out all the horrible things that Lindsay Graham said about Trump. He called him some nasty names and said that Trump was the worst thing to happen to the Republican Party and if we nominate him, we deserve everything we get
by Anonymous | reply 403 | May 1, 2019 6:51 PM |
Leahy bringing up campaign finance laws yes gramps!
by Anonymous | reply 404 | May 1, 2019 6:52 PM |
Leahy can barely speak..
by Anonymous | reply 405 | May 1, 2019 6:52 PM |
Has Senator Leahy passed away?
by Anonymous | reply 406 | May 1, 2019 6:53 PM |
Leahy needs to retire. He's too old and feeble. Vermont would surely replace him with another worthy senator
by Anonymous | reply 407 | May 1, 2019 6:53 PM |
omg you can barely hear him
by Anonymous | reply 408 | May 1, 2019 6:54 PM |
Leahy: "You testified many times, but your testimony was not correct." LOL!
by Anonymous | reply 409 | May 1, 2019 6:54 PM |
Barr doesn't think Mueller intended for the report to be handed over to Congress? huh?
by Anonymous | reply 410 | May 1, 2019 6:54 PM |
He looks like he's late 80's.. close to 90. Maybe older?
by Anonymous | reply 411 | May 1, 2019 6:55 PM |
Feinstein still has a clear voice. Leahy does not
by Anonymous | reply 412 | May 1, 2019 6:55 PM |
"I hate his whiny, twangy voice.."
He should be a minor character on "Green Acres".
by Anonymous | reply 413 | May 1, 2019 6:55 PM |
Barr just said Trump was falsely accused
WTF
by Anonymous | reply 414 | May 1, 2019 6:56 PM |
Durbin back on now thankfully
by Anonymous | reply 415 | May 1, 2019 6:56 PM |
Ted Cruz IS Mr. Haney!
by Anonymous | reply 416 | May 1, 2019 6:56 PM |
Leahy is 89.
Go Durbin!
by Anonymous | reply 417 | May 1, 2019 6:56 PM |
Yes R416.. looks and sounds just like him!
by Anonymous | reply 418 | May 1, 2019 6:57 PM |
ooh Durbin bringing up the Malaysian money laundering case involving Trump
by Anonymous | reply 419 | May 1, 2019 6:58 PM |
Thanks R417..
by Anonymous | reply 420 | May 1, 2019 6:58 PM |
ha Durbin caught Barr with the waiver
by Anonymous | reply 421 | May 1, 2019 6:59 PM |
Barr is sweating now..
by Anonymous | reply 422 | May 1, 2019 6:59 PM |
Barr is one fat wiley SOB. Can’t explain his waiver request. YOU SOUGHT IT!!!
by Anonymous | reply 423 | May 1, 2019 7:00 PM |
I wish Kamala could ask all the Dem questions.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | May 1, 2019 7:00 PM |
OK Whitehouse what are you bringing to this. Get him
by Anonymous | reply 425 | May 1, 2019 7:00 PM |
Yeah.. Whitehouse again!
by Anonymous | reply 426 | May 1, 2019 7:00 PM |
Durbin pressing him like a panini - this waiver thing is going to bite him in the ass !!!
by Anonymous | reply 427 | May 1, 2019 7:00 PM |
Career ethics officials!! Kamala got him shook.
by Anonymous | reply 428 | May 1, 2019 7:01 PM |
Whitehouse tripping him up
by Anonymous | reply 429 | May 1, 2019 7:02 PM |
Whitehouse is the best questioner up there. Not that he's the most combative, but he pins down answers on timing and materials.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | May 1, 2019 7:03 PM |
Barr comes of terribly. Looks guilty as sin!
by Anonymous | reply 431 | May 1, 2019 7:04 PM |
Several Democrats have asked Barr if he has had any contact with the Trump White House. They must know that he has.
by Anonymous | reply 432 | May 1, 2019 7:04 PM |
Barr doesn't know if Mueller looked into Trump's finances
by Anonymous | reply 433 | May 1, 2019 7:05 PM |
I like Sheldon Whitehouse too. Ex-US AG and RI AG. It shows.
by Anonymous | reply 434 | May 1, 2019 7:06 PM |
Sorry, ex-US Attorney. Not AG. Though he’s make a good one.
by Anonymous | reply 435 | May 1, 2019 7:07 PM |
R403, we should be seeing what Graham said next to what he read today side-by-side on the very news outlet tonight.
Excellent catch!
by Anonymous | reply 436 | May 1, 2019 7:07 PM |
Yes Amy get him on the subpoena issue
by Anonymous | reply 437 | May 1, 2019 7:08 PM |
so Barr will supervise the other ongoing investigations. He did not say he would recuse
by Anonymous | reply 438 | May 1, 2019 7:08 PM |
[R162], Really? And what damage was that?
The Democrats took 49 House seats from the Republicans, made a net gain of four Senate seats from the Republicans and a net of four governorships three months after Nixon left office.
by Anonymous | reply 439 | May 1, 2019 7:08 PM |
How could you not recall if you spoke to the WH or not?
Don’t let that get lost in all of this.
Either you spoke to them or not. And if you are trying to hide it, then they caught him red handed.
Keep at it!
by Anonymous | reply 440 | May 1, 2019 7:09 PM |
so Barr called Mueller after Mueller's letter
by Anonymous | reply 441 | May 1, 2019 7:10 PM |
They need to get him away from the other 12 investigations.
Immediately.
Why does it have to be him?
by Anonymous | reply 442 | May 1, 2019 7:10 PM |
Now we need to hear from Mueller directly. This Barr bullshit!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 443 | May 1, 2019 7:11 PM |
Someone might want to make a seperate thread about this but don’t you think Rosenstien should be called before Congress?
No way he gets to slink away.
by Anonymous | reply 444 | May 1, 2019 7:11 PM |
Barr saying Mueller says Barr's summary wasn't inaccurate but the press coverage following it was...
that sounds weird
by Anonymous | reply 445 | May 1, 2019 7:12 PM |
And Mueller needs to testify sooner than later. Not 2 months from now.
by Anonymous | reply 446 | May 1, 2019 7:12 PM |
Anyone know who this guy is to the right of Barr, this is an older photo he is wearing an orange tie today?
I have been looking and can't ID him.
by Anonymous | reply 447 | May 1, 2019 7:12 PM |
I've switched to the Champions League match but put me down as a vote for Whitehouse too. Most impressive and composed. Harris a close second. She had more of an edge to her questioning but Whitehouse is really good at keeping a neutral disposition while probing.
I want Whitehouse to be president just so we can have President Whitehouse at the White House.
by Anonymous | reply 448 | May 1, 2019 7:13 PM |
Barr before the House tomorrow will be blockbuster.
I'm sure Rosenstein will be called, The whole I'm willing to wear a wire thing needs to be directly addressed with him.
by Anonymous | reply 449 | May 1, 2019 7:13 PM |
It’s also contradicted by Mueller’s letter, R445.
by Anonymous | reply 450 | May 1, 2019 7:14 PM |
Barr said NO he won't give the memorialized notes during his convo with Mueller to Congress
by Anonymous | reply 451 | May 1, 2019 7:14 PM |
Barr is a lying fat fuck omg he needs to be in jail
by Anonymous | reply 452 | May 1, 2019 7:15 PM |
Graham to the rescue.
by Anonymous | reply 453 | May 1, 2019 7:15 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 454 | May 1, 2019 7:15 PM |
Blumenthal: Do you ever recall a career prosecutor repudiating an attorney general in this matter?
Barr: I don't consider Bob a career prosecutor.
Way to dodge the question, Bill.
by Anonymous | reply 455 | May 1, 2019 7:15 PM |
Why didn't Lindsey thank Barr for protecting the President?
by Anonymous | reply 456 | May 1, 2019 7:16 PM |
Barr: "The letter (from Mueller) was a bit snitty."
by Anonymous | reply 457 | May 1, 2019 7:16 PM |
Barr saying the Mueller letter was probably written by someone in his staff as a way to dismiss it
by Anonymous | reply 458 | May 1, 2019 7:16 PM |
I really liked the part at the end where Mike Lee rimmed Barr.
by Anonymous | reply 459 | May 1, 2019 7:17 PM |
Brian Williams: "The blood was drawn by Kamala Harris."
by Anonymous | reply 460 | May 1, 2019 7:17 PM |
Rick Wilson was right: Everything Trump Touches Dies.
Including Miss Barr. He has probably lost two pounds in sweat alone today. And I'm sure his underwear is positively soaked through.
by Anonymous | reply 461 | May 1, 2019 7:17 PM |
Wow, R458: there was a troll on one of these threads saying Mueller didn’t write the letter, but that was before the hearing started.
by Anonymous | reply 463 | May 1, 2019 7:18 PM |
Barr really is an arrogant fuck.
He believes he can do what he wants without regard to protocol
by Anonymous | reply 464 | May 1, 2019 7:21 PM |
Kamala just said she also believes he should resign
by Anonymous | reply 465 | May 1, 2019 7:21 PM |
I don't see how Barr keeps any credibility.
by Anonymous | reply 466 | May 1, 2019 7:22 PM |
Barr is a blatant liar just like Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 467 | May 1, 2019 7:24 PM |
I don't see how Barr keeps any credibility.
Keeps?
by Anonymous | reply 468 | May 1, 2019 7:26 PM |
Barr: If the president feels a proceeding is unfounded, "the president does not have to sit there constitutionally and allow it to run its course. The president could terminate the proceeding and it would not be a corrupt intent because he was being falsely accused."
by Anonymous | reply 469 | May 1, 2019 7:29 PM |
He's the one I want to hate fuck, r447.
by Anonymous | reply 470 | May 1, 2019 7:32 PM |
That’s just horrifying, R469.
by Anonymous | reply 471 | May 1, 2019 7:33 PM |

Wow, R469! That is pretty friggin' scary!
by Anonymous | reply 473 | May 1, 2019 7:41 PM |
Nicolle Wallace: The AG made excuses for the sitting president today that I wouldn't make for my seven-year-old son.
by Anonymous | reply 474 | May 1, 2019 7:42 PM |
why are Barr's views on repub executive power so far outside the norm?
by Anonymous | reply 475 | May 1, 2019 7:43 PM |
Some day, and I hope someday sooner than later all the truth about this is going to come out and these people are going to be ruined, I hope. However since we live in a world where "the truth isn't the truth" and some people believe up is down, I have my doubts.
by Anonymous | reply 476 | May 1, 2019 7:44 PM |
It was such a pathetic display. Barr is being absolutely lambasted on social media.
by Anonymous | reply 477 | May 1, 2019 7:44 PM |
why are Barr's views on repub executive power so far outside the norm?
Because he's a crony and an extremist and only got confirmed because everyone was freaking out at the same time about the other extremist crony (Kavananaugh)
by Anonymous | reply 478 | May 1, 2019 7:45 PM |
why are Barr's views on repub executive power so far outside the norm?
It's his raison d'être
by Anonymous | reply 480 | May 1, 2019 7:46 PM |
I actually hope Barr doesn't testify before the House tomorrow, I am hoping the house gets to hear Mueller first and then call Barr back in.
by Anonymous | reply 481 | May 1, 2019 7:47 PM |
Kamala was fierce out in the Senate hallway as well. She was a star today. I'd hate to have her question me on something I did wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 482 | May 1, 2019 7:54 PM |
Lindsey Graham says he won't call for Robert Mueller to testify before Congress: "I'm not going to do any more. Enough already. It's over."
by Anonymous | reply 483 | May 1, 2019 7:54 PM |
How convenient for Graham and the GOP. It's over.
Hilarious. Yet Benghazi went on for two years. 8 investigations and they keep bringing it up.
GOP is shit
by Anonymous | reply 484 | May 1, 2019 7:58 PM |
Lindsey is such a little cunt. She WISHES this were over.
by Anonymous | reply 485 | May 1, 2019 7:58 PM |
R483: Before the Senate. Of course.
Mueller will testify before the House.
by Anonymous | reply 486 | May 1, 2019 7:58 PM |
Fucking cunt Graham. He knows that Mueller would slam Barr.. obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 487 | May 1, 2019 7:59 PM |
Ok... Mueller will testify before Congress.
by Anonymous | reply 488 | May 1, 2019 8:00 PM |
R483 - the House will have to do the oversight function then since the GOP in the Senate have no shame, no scruples, no morals and no balls left.
by Anonymous | reply 489 | May 1, 2019 8:01 PM |
why are Barr's views on repub executive power so far outside the norm?
That's why he is called call the Cover-Up Attorney General

Kamala Harris is going to be on Chris Matthews today. 4 PM Pacific time and 7 PM Eastern It will be interesting what else she may have to say.

What a servile little soldier Barr turned out to be. I guess Michael Cohen was not enough of a cautionary tale for some.
Sorry, no direct link to an article. Just the Guardian live feed.
William Barr called Robert Mueller’s letter objecting to his characterization of the Mueller report “snitty,” and refused to hand over to Congress notes on their subsequent phone conversation.
In response to questions from Senator Richard Blumenthal, Barr said he called Mueller after receiving his critical letter and they spoke for about 10 to 15 minutes.
“I said, ‘Bob, what’s with the letter? Why don’t you just pick up the phone and call me if there’s an issue?’” Barr said.
Mueller was on speaker phone and there were multiple observers in the room including Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, according to Barr.
“He said they were concerned about the way the media was playing this and felt it was important to get out the summaries,” he said. “I asked him if he felt that my letter was misleading or inaccurate, and he said no.”
Blumenthal pointed out that nothing in Mueller’s letter complained about press coverage, but rather said that Barr’s letter did not fully capture the report’s findings and created public confusion.
“His letter was an extraordinary act. A career prosecutor rebuking the Attorney General of the United States, memorializing it in writing,” Blumenthal said.
Barr confirmed that notes were taken on the conversation, and Blumenthal asked if the committee could have them. Barr said no. “Why should you have them?” he said.
He gave his assessment of Mueller’s letter: “The letter’s a bit snitty, and I think it was probably written by one of his staff people.”
With that, the hearing has wrapped up.

Anyone who is puzzled about why more Republican Senators don't rebel and pressure Mitch McConnell only needs to watch these hearings. They are dumb. Stupid. Ignorant. They have enormous egos, and they can be bought. It is all so obvious. They get their marching orders and they follow them. And Ben Sasse? That little shit is worse than Rubio with his doublespeak.

Seven minutes. Each senator gets only seven minutes to question this weasel.
That right there is something that needs changing, particularly when he filibusters his way through questioning.
That right there is something that needs changing, particularly when he filibusters his way through questioning.
True. You can see thorough his tactic of mumbling and appearing confused and asking for questions to be repeated and clarified. It's a clear stalling tactic.
No shame. No shame.

There should be an immediate penalty for witnesses who fillibuster. Perhaps an extra ten minutes of questioning by the senator who is being hijacked.

Bob Mueller acted like a coward and he has caused a world of trouble because he would not stand up against evil. He did not have a backbone when he just handed over that report to Barr. A brave man would have sat down with NBC and CNN. Sent the report to congress and the papers.
Trump breaks every protocol and gets a way with it...Mueller was working for the people.

by Anonymous | reply 516 | May 1, 2019 9:51 PM |
Mueller did his job. He was limited by the rules governing the Special Counsel. His job was to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign was part of the Russian interference. And any related matters. He also discovered criminal wrong doing which he spun off to other jurisdictions. He was directed under the rules governing his mandate, to write up a report and give it to the Attorney General. The AG then had the discretion to decide whether or not to make it public at his own discretion. IMO the law was poorly written and we can now see the flaws.
Where I feel frustrated is that Mueller was not permitted to charge the President with a crime. He was limited by the policy at DoJ not to indict a sitting POTUS. And remember. Rosenstein and Barr were the guard dogs. Mueller was never going to be permitted to make his report public and he was never going to be permitted to charge the President. And, IMO, I'm convinced he was probably pressured by Barr to "wrap it up. I want a final report within the next 30 days." Betcha.
One day we will find out that Mueller was blocked a lot more than we realize, and he still came up with guilty pleas, indictments, and convictions. BTW: I loved the questions Barr got about Oleg Derapaska and Goldman Sachs, etc. They probably shocked the shit out of him. Bet he went bac to his office to puke.
by Anonymous | reply 517 | May 1, 2019 9:51 PM |
It was rich that that Billy "Candy" Barr couldn't even look at Kamala. Condescending, and giving Mueller an out at the same time. As if Mueller would send so important a letter - deep with further implications - without believing every single word.
Great though that the letter got under Barr's skin - and those resonant implications will remain out there, fuelling further scrutiny and pressure.

The WP tries to goad Mueller into testifying or at least speak publicly:
Mueller’s reverence for the rule of law and rigid adherence to protocol have bolstered the credibility of the Russia report, which was released with redactions to the public last month. But the special counsel’s deference to procedure and bureaucratic authority has also enabled Trump and his allies to dominate the debate over the investigation’s results.
R587 thinks the Kremlin switched the crowds of 20,000 or more that turned everywhere Trump spoke on the campaign trail
Your Dear Leader still lost the popular vote.
And in case you are not through and through deplorable, thank you for the Supreme Court. You are the lowest of the low, in my view.
I'm watching the hearing to try to understand liberal rage.
Tumpanzee who pretends to be a Sanders supporter alert:
- Group of white nationalists interrupt author during discussion at Politics and Prose bookstore
[bold]This may have been a stunt set up by that bookstore to get publicity, using actors.[/bold]
- The demand for Trump's tax returns
[bold]I don't get it. From what I understand there's no law that a president must show tax returns?[/bold]
- Leen Dweik: Idiot at NYU who berated Chelsea Clinton
[bold]I hope Bernie gets elected[/bold] and gives Leen Dweik some type of position in the White House, just so I can watch all of you melt down once again.
Most of you have your heads so far up HRC's butt that you can't see that she is a war criminal. It is because of the likes of you that Trump won.
- Mueller Delivers Report
Well some people like Rachel --and the guy who calls everyone "Boris" --never gave up hope.
[bold]Should there be consequences for those who've been ginning up this anti-Russian hysteria for years now, when it proves to be a nothing burger?[/bold]
There should be [R192]. I think Maddow will pay dearly for her role in this.
But [R302] outside of a couple coastal bubbles I don't think most Americans care about this. And at the end of the day it's all about the will of the American people.
I feel bad for Mueller, having to become the patron saint of wackos like Maddow for so long. I'm sure he never wanted any of this.
[bold]If a blue state like New York goes after Trump, how well is that going to play out in the middle of the country?[/bold]
I hate to add more bad news, but it sounds like the SPLC is in MAJOR trouble. Given that so many liberals tithe to SPLC this cannot be good optics.
This report should be Rachel's "Geraldo moment" where the vault is opened and nothing is inside. She's spent years pimping this out instead of doing real journalism. Those tears were for herself and her career.
She has a lot to answer for [R508]. Sadly her viewers seem seem to crave the pablum she spoons out.

Even if Hillary actually won Florida, she still wouldn’t have enough electoral votes to win the presidency. If Russia successfully changed votes in another’s swing state that went for Trump, however...

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
