Brandon got papped while he was just getting out of his car, after he had just arrived at that location. I think that's a pretty strong indication that the paps were called. How would the paps know exactly where Brandon would be going otherwise? It's not like he was sitting in a restaurant and the paps had plenty of time to arrive after getting a tip from someone. The paps were obviously waiting for him. They were positioned to take photos of him as soon as he got out of the car.

And for people who think that Brandon dosn't need the paps so why would he call them. He could help Madden with his narrative by getting papped on his own (so people don't think anymore that they're doing everything together). And pap pics for a C-lister like Brandon are always good as well. Any exposure is good. You don't have to have an immediately upcoming project to get papped. And now that his status in the public's eye has slightly risen the interest in his pap pics is also slightly higher. But surely not so high that any pap would follow him on purpose.

So Richard has the Met Gala this weekend and will be traveling some this month to promote Rocketman, I assume. Then at some point he’ll have to return to the UK for filming his new movie. It could be awhile before they get papped together again, at least in LA. They’re getting savvy with this.

But if anyone gets papped on a random street, in front of a random hotel, or at the beach it's almost always because the paps were called by the celebrity.

Another take from the article is that at the time of the inyerview (couple of months ago? ) he hoped he could live under the radar as an ordinary guy (e.g. go to a festival with friends). He has learnt otherwise in the meantime. I am very curious how he will handle questions related to Brandon in Rocketman promotion.

I don't know whether that would have been before or after the pictures came out, mind you, but it appears that a) Brandon was, for the first time, specifically named and Richard really was given an opportunity to deny all the rumours and he didn't or b) at the very least, he was once again given an opportunity to say he was straight (the magazine even mentions everyone has been operating from a place of simply presuming he was for years) and shut down any questions about that, and he refused to do that.

He's told that numerous times in various interviews. Same with other stories he tells. He's good at appearing to be open about that stuff but he doesn't really give all that much. That's a really good interview. I does cover a lot of the same material as previous ones, but I'm impressed that the reporter followed up about Brandon. It's unlikely that he'll ever address the rumors, but his refusal to comment on the subject pretty much confirms they're an item. Why refuse to comment about Brandon when he just as easily could have said, "We're just friends." He talks about his OTHER friends, like Gemma. It's only his girlfriends (and now boyfriends) he won't talk about.

And also, given the timing of Brandon's Instagram story last night -- the Sinatra song -- it's blatantly obvious that he's been teasing us about their relationship. LOL, I love him.

That interview reads to me like the interview reveals that she found out about Brandon AFTER the interview and at the time of the interview she assumed he was straight. To us they seem to be hiding because we want to see them now, now, now and for them to share all the PDA. But they are just living. Nowhere in the interview article does it say that the interviewer asked him about Brandon. The interviewer only said that a couple of weeks after their interview the Brandon rumours came up. But it's not explicitely stated that they did a follow up question specifically about his relationships after that.

I think the comment that Richard keept refusing to talk about his private life was a referrence to when they were doing the interview and about which topics he wanted to talk about in the interview. So it has nothing to do with Brandon.

I liked the interview, but it makes me feel like Richard doesn’t really know himself. That’s not unusual obviously, especially as an actor and a child actor. He just wants to be a normal guy and go to festivals and drive fast cars. He bought a 3BR because it seemed like the right thing to do. It’s naive on his part. He thinks he can just go about life as he always had.

He seems immature and not confident in himself and his ability. Maybe that’s why he dated a much younger woman and may be why he’s drawn to Brandon, who from all accounts is pretty self confident. Maybe Brandon can help him figure it out and they can both be happy? And FYI, I’m a big Richard fan, but that’s what I took from the article (and others as well).
