In response to the nurses being insufferable thread, it’s been my experience that flight attendants and realtors have been the most insufferable.
So what do you think is most insufferable?

Another vote for HR. Most are useless at evaluating and hiring talent and use these ridiculous personality tests that are so easy to manipulate if you have half a brain. Have lost count on how many people I hired over the years that were great employees over some of the useless “great applicants” they pushed on me. PR folks I have worked with have generally been pompous and arrogant - lack real working knowledge on the actual business but love to brag about their social media profiling and contacts.

R47 I think healthcare professionals are a mixed bag. I've encountered some great nurses and doctors. When I worked as a front desk clerk at a nursing home and hospice center, there was one nurse who was an arrogant bitch. She was nasty to some of the patients and played favorites. She did similar things with the nurse aides on staff. This arrogant nurse was very nasty to the cafeteria and maintenance/janitorial workers.

I encountered a couple of surgeons who fit the arrogant stereotype when a couple of family members were going through health issues. I do admit my past job at the nursing home left with a bit of a bad taste after seeing how shitty that arrogant nurse was with some of the patients and staff members. I try to take a grey approach to healthcare professionals in general. I don't think that all nurses and doctors are angels, but I know some of them are good hard working people.

All the votes to "social media influencer." But I would do it in a heartbeat if I knew how, and if I wasn't 43.
I do disagree with the opinion on nurses. They do pretty much all the hard work. I've been in hospitals far too frequently than I can count (see above re: teaching ESL), and I would usually get a three-minute visit from the doc while the nurses tended to me--and everyone else--for hours, kindly, calmly, putting up with all sorts of literal shit and demands.

I too would vote for HR but I've been good to HR people and they've been good to me. And what do failed HR people do - they become headhunters. So it pays to be nice to them.
I recall back in 2001 I was working for a state agency. I got on well with the HR person that one day she came down and told me my unit used the MOST sick time. And it wasn't the unit as a whole but one 40 year old woman. And curiously the day the HR person told me as the director of the unit about this said 40 year old woman was out sick for the second day.
About 3 hours later the 40 year old woman calls me and says she won't be in the next day. I told her just to protect herself get a doctors note. Next morning I show up early and she's sitting at her desk saying "You threatened me." I told her go home and don't come back until she got a call from me. I let her go the rest of the week and called on Friday saying "If you ever do that again i will move to terminate and you can come back on Monday."

[quote]Sales people in high end clothing and accessory stores. Can those idiots be any more pretentious?!
I agree for the most part. It reminds my aunt told told me a few years back. She was a case worker at an unemployment office in a small tourist town and a woman in town opened her own clothing store and put a listing for employees at the unemployment office and on the site. She said how job seekers told her and another case worker that the clothing store owner was quite rude and pretentious to them when they went into the store or contacted her by phone.
A few people who had previously worked in malls or big box stores like Target or Walmart told her about their retail experience and she was rude and said that working in her store would be completely different from lower end stores. Those people she didn't offer an additional interview. I get that there are differences in small stores compared to a big box store. But, that woman sounded like a total cunt for cutting down people just trying to get a job and support themselves and/or family.

[quote]a three-minute visit from the doc while the nurses tended to me--and everyone else--for hours,
Because the doctor has to see 15000 different patients because there are basically 100 nurses to 1 doctor in any given situation.
You generally see 1 or 2 nurses doing some work while the OTHER 10 sit around gossiping if you've ever been in a hospital. You wanna fuckin' hit them.

The vast majority of print and TV journalists are insufferable, self important and sociopathic narcissists. The absolute worst of the lot are the political journalists.

[quote]Pharmacists is right! Getting my vote. Easily in top 5
A relative of mine was insufferable pharmacist. He bounced around from different retail pharmacy jobs.

I have a suspicion many pharmacists (the obnoxious ones anyway) are drug addicts.

Pharmacists giving medical advice piss me off. They know about meds not the intricacies of medical conditions. There are people out there who listen to them as if they’re doctors. They’re not.

The level of workplace assault, suicide, and sexual perversion among pharmacists is literally off the charts. These are the medicine men, the shamans, of our society, and even the ones who aren't getting high on their own supply find themselves debilitated by the cosmic life-or-death power they hold over their helpless "drones." And yes, that's what they call us: "drones."

My partner's stepfather worked as a hospital social worker for almost 30 years. He retired a few months back and he has said that it seems like nurses are becoming more arrogant and condescending in recent years. He also said that in the hospital he worked at it was almost encouraged for nurses to act like that.

Real estate agents. My sister in law was a real estate agent in Scottsdale and she and one of her competitors at another real estate company -- I'll call her Sheena, because that's her real name -- became locked in competition on who would be able to list and show this one really eyepopping property (I was there for a party once, the place is beautiful). Anyway the bitch at the other agency MAILED A LIVE SCORPION to my sister in law! What a bitch!

HR, they are biggest pieces of shit in the world.
These pond scum suckers don't care one iota for a company's workers. HR people only care about protecting the company. They also care about protecting the workers who are fucking their bosses, who are usually the workers you are complaining about!
HR people in small companies are the absolute worst.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
