Instant Sparks or Slow Boil?
People you've had a strong emotional bond with--either lovers or good friends. Was it usually instant, as in you met the person and immediately hit it off and knew that they'd be someone significant in your life, or was it more of a slow burn where you gradually got to know them better and eventually realized their worth?
I've always been an instant karma kind of guy, I can tell you when and where I met all my closest friends/exes and the feeling I had walking away from that first meeting thinking "this person is going to play a major role in my life."

YES.
I know exactly what you mean.
Nowadays, though, I do have lots of slow burn friendships but they are not as deep and don’t tend to impact me as much. But I’m older now and so I guess I’ve grown up.

Yes, sometimes. But sometimes I'm wrong, as I was last year with someone I thought was at least going to be my new best friend. We're friendly, but I am clearly nothing special to him.

When I met my best friend (who is also a DL’er), there was practically an audible click. 20 years later we’re as close as ever.
