Personally I like his post-surgery voice better. His early 90s stuff in particular. I find some of his 70s music to be quite annoying. His 80s was fine
Do you prefer Elton John's voice as more of a tenor pre-surgery or baritone post-surgery?

He has never topped his 70's music

I love the harmonies on his 70s records, often provided by various Beach Boys and DL fave Toni Tenille.

Which surgery?

Apparently he had throat surgery in 1987, to remove polyps from vocal chords. The polyps were likely a result of persisting with poor singing technique over the previous years, and the deeper, post-surgery sound is the result of his actually following therapists' advice on how to sing properly and take care of his voice.

For being on the payroll of the multi billion dollar global $cam known as "HIV/AID$" the disgusting and hideously ugly sow known as Lady Elton will burn in hell!
