Tasteful Friends: Edie Sedgwick's Apartment Is for Sale

This is the one she was living in when she nearly burned herself to death falling asleep with a lit cigarette in Oct. 1966. After that, she moved to the Chelsea Hotel.

The apartment has been restored but has the original moldings. I really like what's shown here, but I wonder why they haven't pictured the kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom.

This is the Streeteasy listing with pictures, but the provenance of the apartment was sourced from Architectural Digest: https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/edie-sedgwicks-former-apartment-hits-the-market

So, it’s a walk up?

Restored or renovated?

It’s darling. I’d live there.

But it’s damn expensive for being a small walkup with no amenities or kitchen.

Usually a bad sign when they don’t show what are the two most expensive rooms to fix.

Pisses me off when they refuse to show photos of the kitchen or the bathrooms. Other than that I like what I see. The living/dining room and bedroom are nice and big.

The original listing.

No photos of the kitchen or the bathroom.

Those fees are ludicrous for a unit that small. The building doesn't even have an elevator that would need repairing.

Floor plan. I like the separate dressing area, and both it and the bathroom have windows, which is nice. It does have a dishwasher and a fireplace in the bedroom, and there's laundry in the building. But those carrying charges are really high.
