OMG, Chris Milquetoast Watts was a diabolical demon from hell!!!

He apparently planned, along with NK and her "buddy" Jim, to disguise the murders of SHanann Watts and her kids in an oil tank explosion, for which he would sue Anadarko for a billion bucks. Then he and NK would go travel the world, fucking in exotic locales forevermore.

He got the idea from an identical explosion a year before at an Anadarko site less than 20 miles away.

I know the Armchair Detective is considered an iffy source, but this documentary was excellent and apparently the DA, michael Rourke, is re-examining accomplice charges (he made a statement to that effect last week).

Eh. I don’t think that Jim was in on any plan, but I think NK wanted to use him as an alibi. But we don’t know, because there is very little information about her whereabouts in the discovery documents.

by Anonymousreply 1April 15, 2019 7:20 PM

Well actually, youtubers have found her living in Wisconsin with her buddy Jim.

by Anonymousreply 2April 15, 2019 7:29 PM

R2, no way! Which YouTubers?

by Anonymousreply 3April 15, 2019 7:33 PM

Not exactly sure who the original source was, but a few channels have reposted photos of her, walking her husky or malamute or whatever that dog was. She has lost weight and is noticeably skinnier now, but the pony tail is the same, the walk is the same. I know the Armchair Detective posted it, but i think some of the housefrau-y women with channels devoted to the case did too.

by Anonymousreply 4April 15, 2019 7:47 PM

Im on my phone right now. I'll find the posts later and post them.

by Anonymousreply 5April 15, 2019 7:54 PM

Okay.

by Anonymousreply 6April 15, 2019 8:01 PM

R4, ooh thanks. I’ll try to find it, too.

by Anonymousreply 7April 15, 2019 8:59 PM

Oh, I found it. In the French-accented lady videos. I will have to see it on a bigger screen.

There is a LOT we don’t know.

by Anonymousreply 8April 15, 2019 10:46 PM

I don't really buy this, sounds like some people are trying to keep the conspiracy theories alive in this case because this story is so clickbaity. How was he going to explain how his whole family ended up in the explosion? If they were all in on it, they would have done a much better job, not kill Shannan in the house with video cameras taping everyone going in and out.

Where is the statement from the sheriff? I wish they would have gone after Level for that Thrive crap that kept Chris from getting any sleep.

by Anonymousreply 9April 15, 2019 10:55 PM

How was he going to explain his wife and kids being at the oil tank when it exploded? Sorry but this makes no sense.

by Anonymousreply 10April 15, 2019 10:56 PM

*Shakes Almond Roca can* Come on over sleuth Frauen, your attention to this matter is requested.

by Anonymousreply 11April 15, 2019 11:02 PM

*snatches Almond Roca can from r11 although I prefer salted cashews*

I’m not convinced he was going to blow up the Cervi site. The shadow in the driveway that he bends over to pick up is pretty compelling. Are we SURE the Ring doorbell didn’t show something?

And I don’t care how crazy it sounds, NK is hinky. The only time she shows any sort of emotion is when the police are asking her about Jim.

by Anonymousreply 12April 15, 2019 11:35 PM

Ok, i will summarize.

The neighbor's video of chris loading bodies? Well it was examined frame by frame and this Armchair detective guy (and now actual FBI and CBI) determined there was at least one other person helping at that truck. There are "courtesy lights" on the side view mirrors, which always turn on together. Occasionally the passenger one turns off, and they were able to show that happens only when the door opens or when someone stands in front of it, obscuring the light. It is likely that two (and possibly three) people were required to kill Shanann, who would have fought mightily. It is also likely that Cece was smothered in the house and loaded into the truck in a trash bag, but Bella can be seen being lifted into the truck by CW. One accomplice on the passenger side assisted in loading SW into the truck. That person then also sat in the back seat of the truck with Bella, as evidenced by the hand-held cell phone. Very distinctive. All of this now accepted by the DA and various LE agencies, who are behind the delays in auctioning the house. They have, for the last two weeks been setting up physics measurements, measuring for example lines of sight from the doorbell cam, and from Neighbor Nate's cam. Neighbors in the area have reported that on reddit.

So let's just say you accept the idea that Nichol Kessinger and her "buddy" Jim Gotuski were helping him, or maybe somebody else entirely, then what was the plan?

Well it turns out that in the summer of 2017, another one of Anadarko's batteries blew up in Mead, CO, less than 20 miles from Frederick CO. It made huge news because the explosion registered on seismic scales. Firefighters who tried conventional methods of containing the fire were stymied by oil's resistance to those methods (water for example, INCREASED the fire). Firefighters died, i believe, as did men who were working at the site when the explosion occurred.

So CW and possibly NK (who had been googling the Watts since about a month after the Mead explosion occurred, and before she met CW), apparently concocted a murder for profit scheme.

They would kill SW and the girls and "store" them at the site, then stage the site for the tragedy about to unfold. CW took his girls in SW's Lexus SUV to Cervi 319, to meet a friend who was going to hand over an Amazon firestick. Friend leaves, CW out there alone on Friday. He told the friend he took the day off to take SW to the airport, but that was not true. Out at Cervi, he dug a shallow grave, started a small oil leak, took pix and reported it to NK, who was the OSHA safety officer. She then reported the leak to another co-worker, claiming the alarms did not suggest a serious leak, but maybe he and CW could take care of it Monday morning. That guy calls CW. CW says he'll take care of it himself.

But now the leak is on the record.

They kill SW and the girls, putting one girl in each tank, Shanann in the shallow grave. Why so shallow? Because they only needed to cover her up, hide her, not lay her to rest. Presumably CW would have dug her up Tuesday morning, dressed her in the jeans found at the foot of the stairs, and propped her into the Lexus, which an accomplice would have driven out. Text messages from Shanann's phone and Chris' phone would have been sent, to the effect of "i know you have been cheating on me you asshole. Where are you? We are going to settle this NOW."

She would theoretically have been at the wrong place when a devastating explosion occured. Of course CW wouldn't have been there, running late or something. The gasoline over the car would have guaranteed an accelerant on the car, there would have been a GIANT explosion, leaving nothing but a crater, certainly no remains. CW apparently googled "long fuses" and "remote detonation". And CW and NK both knew that Anadarko, in violation of government sanctions imposed on them for Mead, CO, never fixed the safety issues at their batteries. CW would have sued for billions.

If only Scooby hadn't shown up.

by Anonymousreply 13April 16, 2019 4:09 PM

Oh, and CW spent hours and hours on the phone with tech services at Vivant, figuring out the door ell cam. At first LE said there were mo doorbell videos, the cameras had malfunctioned. Vivant apparently found them. We've seen SW arriving. I am guessing there are films of him carrying SW and the girls to the truck that we haven't seen yet.

CW only SEEMS like a dim bulb. It turns out he really might be an evil genius.

by Anonymousreply 14April 16, 2019 4:13 PM

R13 / r14. Interesting theory. It’s plausible.

I really hope that LE is looking into this and haven’t closed the case entirely. People get really mad when “misogynists always blame the woman (NK)” but I can’t shake the notion that she’s involved somehow.

There is a LOT missing from the discovery documents. It would stand to reason that the information they released pertained to Chris alone, and they are holding back substantial and prejudicial information about NK if they’re looking at her as an accomplice. When he pled guilty, it didn’t mean they didn’t have to consider other suspects. Not sure if there’s a statute of limitations on all the things they could possibly charge her with: lying to federal investigators, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence and accessory to murder.

by Anonymousreply 15April 16, 2019 4:20 PM

No statute of limitations on murder. Certainly not on conspiracy to commit murder.

My question would be, did they give her immunity when she came forward? It was just so freaky how fast it was all settled, and i think we now know why. They didn't want the far more horrible story to come out: milquetoast henpecked husband snaps was as bad as they wanted it to get.

by Anonymousreply 16April 16, 2019 4:26 PM

AND there’s also lively discussion about his IQ. Some think he’s plain stupid, but I think he has areas of exceptional intelligence. He, by all accounts, has excellent mechanical intelligence and skills. I found it telling that his coworkers called him “Rain Man” - he was simple in some ways but sure knew a lot in others.

He did seem to be capable of subterfuge - figuring out the neighbors camera angles, arranging to be places, explaining his truck’s GPS to his boss, keeping the work emails above-board because he knew they could see them, he wasn’t a total idiot.

by Anonymousreply 17April 16, 2019 4:27 PM

The department of corrections said his IQ is 140. Average is 100.

The one thing that doesn't fit is his losing his shit when viewing the video at Neighbor Nate's house. Surprised he couldn't maintain his presence of mind.

by Anonymousreply 18April 16, 2019 4:30 PM

R16, hmm. First of all, I’m not even convinced she “came forward”. There’s nothing in the discovery (that I’ve seen) that she contacted them first. Tony Huskey of Anadarko gave the police the emails very early on - I want to say Tuesday morning at 8:00. They knew about her even as she was deleting her texts.

There’s nothing in her *released* interviews that seems particularly useful to police. However, she makes reference to things she told them that we didn’t hear. Something like “remember where I was on Sunday night” - but I don’t recall reading where she told them she was.

Maybe she did get immunity. And then my question is, would that immunity cover all charges in anything related to the crime? Could they ever find anything to charge her with? What if some incontrovertible proof came out that she, say, smothered CeCe (just pretend)? They’d just throw up their hands and say “Oh, you fooled us! Our hands are tied...”?

by Anonymousreply 19April 16, 2019 4:39 PM

Not sure. How worried are they over credibility with conspiring murderers in the future?

by Anonymousreply 20April 16, 2019 4:46 PM

Also, those front porch interviews where he says they're went to a friend's house. Was he still thinking he could have them all explode in flames? That no one would be watching him?

by Anonymousreply 21April 16, 2019 4:58 PM

R21, he didn’t want to give that interview. Scooby Nickole called them and told them to come. Once they were there, he couldn’t very well decline.

She really fouled up the plan.

by Anonymousreply 22April 16, 2019 5:05 PM

so the interviews were the next day, right? He had some time to think about what he was going to say. He was still communicating with NK.

Was there any semblence of a plan? Were they maybe goung to rebury Shanann? Then explosion in a year? Or other suitable timeframe?

by Anonymousreply 23April 16, 2019 5:13 PM

Actually, I don’t know what day they were, r23, but I thought they were the Monday. Scooby was there, peering into the garage. They had to get the missing person information out ASAP, pregnant woman and kids who don’t have their meds.

by Anonymousreply 24April 16, 2019 6:33 PM

But yeah, I think there WAS a plan. He/they just didn’t plan on Scooby raising the alarm.

Although, calling the school that morning was pretty dumb.

by Anonymousreply 25April 16, 2019 6:54 PM

I could see someone doing what OP suggests. But Chris Watts is too fucking stupid to pull off anything like this.

And he displays pics of the wife and kids in his prison cell. He likes to look at the pics and relive everything he did to them

He's a fucked up, ignorant, piece of shit. He's not worth anyone caring about him

by Anonymousreply 26April 16, 2019 9:47 PM

It depends on what type of immunity the prosecutors gave her. Use immunity and transactional immunity

The difference between them is that transactional immunity (aka Blanket or Total immunity) protects the witness from prosecution for the offense or offenses involved. It's complete immunity, whereas use immunity only protects the witness against the immunized testimony in a prosecution. It prevents the prosecutor from using the person's testimony against them. But if they leave anything out, the person can be prosecuted for that

I'm guessing the state granted her immunity. But if she was involved in planning this murder and they used a phone to discuss this, they could both be up on Federal charges. I'm not a lawyer, so that may only be if they conducted this across state lines. And he was in a different state when he visited with his family during that vacation.

There's a lot of people doing long stretches in prison because they used their phone across state lines to discuss the planning of a crime. There's a former judge in my area that got a life sentence from the feds for discussing planning the murder of his wife over state lines (he actually was on vacation with his family when he did this). The Feds didn't arrest him for murder. The State arrested him for murder, where he also got another life sentence. There are all kinds of crimes (federal and state) for using a phone/computer to discuss crimes, plan crimes or even sending pictures (child porn). My former neighbor spent 2 years in state jail for sending a dick pick to a cop who was posing as a 13 yr old girl online. This was not across state lines. When you are a criminal, yours or any phone and your computer are your # 1 enemy. That's what the Feds specialize in. Yes, I'm talking to you Charlie Wheeler

by Anonymousreply 27April 16, 2019 10:17 PM

R27, thanks for the comment. I still have so many questions, but will have to be patient.

She gave that Denver Post interview from her lawyer’s office. He has some interesting specialties but I don’t think criminal defense is one. I wonder if she retained a criminal defense lawyer... if you’re discussing immunity, I’d assume you’d want one.

It may be wishful thinking or delusion on my part, but I think she’s more involved than she let on (not saying she killed anyone!). It would be nice to know that LE at least considered it.

by Anonymousreply 28April 16, 2019 10:27 PM

In some jurisdictions, if you lie to LE or the DA when giving your statement, that can void an immunity deal.

by Anonymousreply 29April 17, 2019 3:02 AM

R29, oooh. She definitely lied to LE. But the interviews seemed pretty casual. I wonder if there were others that were not made public. I’m imagining that, if she had made an immunity deal, they’d sit down with her in a proper deposition where she would give sworn testimony - and actual information! She wouldn’t likely lie then, and we wouldn’t likely know about it.

Also, I imagine this would be done in preparation for a trial, and I think Chris’s plea stopped everything dead in its tracks.

Intriguing possibilities.
