JFK JR wasn't a good person was he?
Just been reading more and more. The famous quote attributed to him is that he wanted to be a good man and people who knew him had nothing bad to say about him.
But it seems that just like his dad he was a compulsive cheat, so clearly not a good man. He had a temper also and was more republican.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||Last Wednesday at 6:13 AM|
Gay friendly and cute! He was a keeper
|by Anonymous||reply 2||Last Saturday at 3:12 PM|
Compared to the two dipshits who now have the title First Sons, JFK jr was physically, mentally and emotionally far, far superior.

You've got it all wrong, OP!
Caroline's the bitch.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||Last Saturday at 3:24 PM|
He was just uninteresting. Pretty but empty headed.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||Last Saturday at 3:26 PM|
I remember, many years ago, Mrs. Betty Bowers writing:
"JRK, Jr. was flying a plane to Martha's Vineyard. His last words were, 'Dear God in Heaven, shut this braying cokehead behind me up!' See? The Lord does answer prayers. Glory!"
|by Anonymous||reply 9||Last Saturday at 3:28 PM|
I did hear from someone who knew him that he was nice but there wasn’t a lot of depth there. May have just been his age.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||Last Saturday at 3:34 PM|
I've never read one negative thing said about him. Caroline, on the other hand....
|by Anonymous||reply 13||Last Saturday at 3:36 PM|
Compared to moi he's fucking Mother Theresa
|by Anonymous||reply 14||Last Saturday at 3:37 PM|
I went to Brown with him. He was a sweet man. Positive. Nice. Engaging. And never "played" the Kennedy card. I got to know him well in college and then reconnected in NYC when he was working for DA. We worked out at the Downtown Athletic Club (long gone). My brush with fame was meeting him outside Jackie's Fifth Avenue place to head downtown in a cab. Jackie had just come in from a walk in the park and I met her.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||Last Saturday at 3:44 PM|
Thanks for your input r16. He seemed like a very decent person.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||Last Saturday at 3:48 PM|
on the spectrum no doubt.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||Last Saturday at 3:53 PM|
Nice to hear the stories but he was still a cheat and supported his rapist and pedo cousins.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||Last Saturday at 3:59 PM|
A joint a day made him a mellow fellow.

OP, who is also R20, clearly has some trust issues. Has a Kennedy cheated on you, dear? In your dreams? IRL? I didn't think so...
It's OK to be obsessed, but try not to be so obvious, please

|by Anonymous||reply 24||Last Saturday at 4:19 PM|
Didn't Hillary have him killed?
|by Anonymous||reply 25||Last Saturday at 4:20 PM|
r16, wasn't that club one of the nude swim clubs? Did you ever see him nude? Anything interesting to report?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||Last Saturday at 4:48 PM|
He died 20 years ago this July. The face of a male model. Gorgeous.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||Last Saturday at 5:08 PM|
How tall was he, R16? He looks to be several inches shorter than the 6'3" Trump.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||Last Saturday at 5:12 PM|
I read a book by a man who worked with him on his beloved GEORGE Magazine. He said basically that John Jr. was a decent, dedicated, hard working guy but was a bit too timid to be controversial and take on more difficult issues. And he also said that his wife Carolyn didn't try to interfere or influence his magazine.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||Last Saturday at 5:15 PM|
R26. Yes. The Downtown Athletic Club used to be a men's only club. And yes, nude swimming. About 1992, when there was some big lawsuit against the University Club and the Raquet Club, they had to go co-ed. Despite that, it remained pretty much (95%) male. One of those old school places with about ten floors of workout things (boxing, weight room, wrestling area !, etc). Also had a hotel for members. It's now a condo.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||Last Saturday at 5:21 PM|
On some old thread here, I wrote about showering w him. I will say what I said before: I know you bitches will say I'm lying, but you can fuck yourselves. Take it or leave it. He definitely was hung. Maybe 5 or so inch soft hang. Fuzzy pecs. Fuzzy ass. But most of all, he was a very nice guy. Oddly, he had a "crap" locker. Instead of getting a full length locker, he had a half sized one on the bottom level. I always remembered that.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||Last Saturday at 5:26 PM|
R28, I remember Geraldo Rivera, pretty average in height himself, boasting that he was taller than JFK, Jr.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||Last Saturday at 5:30 PM|
John was a true 6feet tall. Same as me
|by Anonymous||reply 35||Last Saturday at 5:31 PM|

|by Anonymous||reply 37||Last Saturday at 5:37 PM|
Gay people judging other people based on their sexual habits?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||Last Saturday at 5:39 PM|
He was known throughout Hollywood and Broadway for having his way with well known ingenues/famous young actresses. I wonder why I was never chosen to be the object of his lovemaking.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||Last Saturday at 5:55 PM|
R24 John, most people prefer to ride INSIDE the plane.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||Last Saturday at 6:00 PM|
He wasn' t a cute kid. And his head was oddly shaped. I always wondered if the docs had to use forceps to pull him of of Jackie's over-tight vag.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||Last Saturday at 6:19 PM|
Who cares what he looked like at three years old, r41. He grew up to be stunning.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||Last Saturday at 7:18 PM|
I always used to laugh to myself at the thought of JFK jr. and Diana getting together.
Can you imagine how crazy the world would have gone?
|by Anonymous||reply 44||Last Saturday at 7:28 PM|
A God. Would love to have seen the outtakes.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||Last Saturday at 7:45 PM|

|by Anonymous||reply 58||Last Saturday at 9:18 PM|

|by Anonymous||reply 60||Last Saturday at 9:20 PM|
Was he a pushover? I think he put up with Carolyns shit for too long. If his father had lived maybe he would have had a better mix of nice guy but also tough.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||Last Saturday at 9:24 PM|
He was lucky to have lived when he did. His sheen would’ve come off in these internet/social media days. They would’ve blasted his lack of intelligence everywhere, exposed his wife’s drug use and cheating and outed his bisexual dalliances. He also would’ve been pressured to run for the White House by 2008 only to be destroyed by Barrack and Hillary by the first debates.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||Last Saturday at 9:26 PM|
His rumored REAL father, who was schtupping Jackie....

|by Anonymous||reply 63||Last Saturday at 9:26 PM|

|by Anonymous||reply 64||Last Saturday at 9:27 PM|
r63 Do you not have eyes, it's plain as day that he is a total mix of his mother and JFK
|by Anonymous||reply 65||Last Saturday at 9:28 PM|
JFK Jr. did look a lot like the guy at r63.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||Last Saturday at 9:30 PM|
oh for fuck's sake he looked just like Jackie's dad.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||Last Saturday at 9:30 PM|
He was a goodlooking and unexceptional young man who was both fortunate and unfortunate in his birth. He lived a privileged life and died at an age that 90% of humanity has lived to over the course of millennia. Could have had it so much worse. We all kick off.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||Last Saturday at 9:34 PM|
He liked to walk around naked at his private gym in Soho back in the 80's. I briefly dated the owner of that expensive gym.

|by Anonymous||reply 72||Last Saturday at 9:51 PM|

Well, um, you know, he was, you know, an OK little brother, you know, pulling, you know, a lot of pranks, you know, and not, you know, a particularly good student, you know, but he could be, you know, sweet, you know, and was actually, you know, a pretty decent person, you know, and I do, you know, kind of miss him, you know?
|by Anonymous||reply 77||Last Saturday at 11:20 PM|
It was 1977, r53. Everyone smoked. Maybe even the non-smoking troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||Last Sunday at 1:24 AM|
I always thought he looked *so much* like JFK until I saw all the Jackie pics on the new Jackie O. thread on DL, and now all I see when I look at him is Jackie’s face on a man’s body and now I can’t unsee it :(
|by Anonymous||reply 79||Last Sunday at 2:25 AM|
JFK wasn't handsome. He looked constipated and all his little features rushed to the center of his head. Jr. was striking like his ma.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||Last Sunday at 3:59 AM|
I also have a JFK jr encounter.
Back in the 90s, my little twirl posse would go to Sound Factory from 2am until around 8am on a Sunday, then go spread a blanket out in Central Park and crash. It was fun to fall asleep when the meadow was empty and wake up to it being totally jam packed. Anyway, one morning when we did this I woke up to JFK jr and his friends playing frisbee right near us. They had clearly already made a couple of lighthearted jokes about us (we were super-faggy club kids in mascara and glitter) because as I was stretching JFK jr turned to me and said “oh good, you’re alive! We were going to call an ambulance. But looks like you had a great time!”
I just laughed and also blushed. He was so so sexy. And in that brief interaction, you could tell he was really nice, too.
God, I miss THAT NYC.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||Last Sunday at 4:26 AM|
I saw JFK Jr. on the street in NY on three occasions in the mid-late 90s. The man was absolutely stunning, he looked exactly the same in person as he did in photos. Even if he hadn't been famous or "JFK Jr.," he still would've turned heads and had people saying "who is THAT guy?"
|by Anonymous||reply 82||Last Sunday at 4:31 AM|
A young Rothschild prince or Indian rajah
|by Anonymous||reply 83||Last Sunday at 4:51 AM|
If my medium could conjure him up, I would give him a spiritual blow job so good that he wish he weren't going to born again.
Don't understand why the OP was obsessed with his temper, his being more Republican when he was so good looking? Is this how an unhinged incel auntie fantasizes about a handsome dead people?
|by Anonymous||reply 84||Last Sunday at 5:01 AM|
What's this about him being bi?
|by Anonymous||reply 85||Last Sunday at 5:08 AM|
His hordes of goofy-looking male cousins must have been seething with toothy jealousy at JFK Jr.s exquisite build and looks.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||Last Sunday at 5:12 AM|
Indeed, r86. The rapists wouldn't have had to be rapists if they'd looked like John-John.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||Last Sunday at 5:14 AM|
It's so weird because he was conventionally ridiculously handsome and had the perfect body but I wasn't sexually into him. I don't get sex appeal vibes or that he could show you a good time. I look at him and think yeh what a perfect face but I don't want to rip his clothes off. (maybe because others have said Kennedy weren't good in bed and he was just nice and nothing else to him)
|by Anonymous||reply 88||Last Sunday at 5:55 AM|
I met him in a men's room in a bar in Georgetown in 1981. He smiled at me and said hello. It was a straight bar, attached to a schmancy French restaurant. I've always wished I'd had the nerve to "take it to the next level," as people would start to say in the following decade, but my boyfriend was waiting for me at our table.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||Last Sunday at 6:01 AM|

|by Anonymous||reply 90||Last Sunday at 6:35 AM|
R86, his cousin Anthony Shriver was, in my opinion, even more handsome.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||Last Sunday at 7:32 AM|
Tim is and was better looking than anthony
|by Anonymous||reply 95||Last Sunday at 7:49 AM|
Yes, R89, it certainly sounds like it was only your high standards that got in the way of hot mens room sex in a straight restaurant.
But well done for standing on principle.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||Last Sunday at 7:52 AM|
"I've always wished I'd had the nerve to "take it to the next level,"

|by Anonymous||reply 97||Last Sunday at 7:58 AM|

|by Anonymous||reply 99||Last Sunday at 9:09 AM|
He was marriage material.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||Last Sunday at 9:10 AM|
I saw him on the early nineties in NYC and dud a double take because he was so gorgeous before realizing who he was, he was stunning. Great story R81, what a way to wake up.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||Last Sunday at 9:41 AM|
Isn't that why his mother didn't want him to be a actor because she was afraid of him being gay? But to be fair she strongly did not want him to be a magazine editor either because the chances of it being a success were so slim.
The Kennedy fortune was made off of illegal activities. All that money was Irish mob money. Al Capone had more class than old Joe. I don't believe in Karma but that guy got it in spades.
And then Jackie was Melania though natve born. Bought by the Kennedys and then by Ari who had all the integrity of Sam Giancana. John Jr and Caroline's wealth was/is blood money. There Isn't an honest cent in any of it
|by Anonymous||reply 103||Last Sunday at 9:45 AM|

I saw the episode of sex and the city recently where Samantha fucks with some rich guy - and his socially connected wife walks in on them. Suddenly Samantha is doomed professionally as the wife has her blackballed from doing PR for lots of major events....
I hadn’t seen the episode - or any episodes - for years - since it was originally broadcast! - but remembered it clearly. At the end, Samantha volunteers for some charity event thing that involves physically working - and she meets JFK Jr - and one gathers she charms him and spends enough time with him - and so is completely socially rehabilitated.
The actor playing JFK Jr appears to help her up as if he’s appeared kinda magically out of the sun - and is so backlit that you can’t actually identify him. But the whole scenario was kinda cheeky and of its time.
Anyway - it must’ve been broadcast not that long before he died - because it had been changed. Samantha now meets Leo Di Caprio. I was gobsmacked. A little bit of perfect nineties social history had been changed. As if knowing Di Caprio would have enhanced you socially amongst that demographic. Puh-lease. So disappointed! Was quite angry they’d changed it - still can’t quite get why it meant so much to me.... weird!

The Patriarch, the definitive biography of Joseph Kennedy, repudiates the long-standing belief that the Kennedy fortune was built on bootlegging.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||Last Sunday at 12:48 PM|
R103 here. I saw John Jr twice close up. He used to eat at a vegetarian place on I believe West 3rd when he was studying at N.Y. University. The first time I didn't recognise him but I thought he was a movie star. His good looks and aura were incredible. He was by himself both times reading a paper. His photos don't do him justice and I thought he was sexy and unassuming as fuck.
Though I don't doubt he was a nice guy the Kennedy fortune was built on rumrunning and the patriarch was as nasty Irish Catholic as they come and that's pretty nasty. And his appeasment policy towards Hitler horrified Franklin and Eleanor.
Ari was a pirate and dumped Callas and Lee the minute he could get his sweaty peasant paws on the porcelain courtesan Jackie. Another target karma made mincemeat of.
The Kennedy image is a joke. Class bought with the fortunes of gangsters. Just not far enough in the past. And JFK gave us the Berlin Wall, The Bay of Pigs and Vietnam. A terrible terrible legacy.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||Last Sunday at 5:35 PM|
Joe Kennedy was hardly a nice guy but the family fortune wasn't built on rum-running. It was built on stock manipulation during the 1920's. He was better at it than the people at Kidder, Peabody and Company, though, and so the WASP's hated him. They hated the Irish anyway, but they hated him more because he made fools of them. His appeasement policy, until the bombs started falling, btw, was exactly the same as that of the King and Queen of England, of the-then PM Neville Chamberlain, and most of Britain's ruling class.
And as "nasty Irish Catholic and that's pretty nasty" says way more about you- and not flatteringly - than it does about anyone else, even Joe Kennedy.

|by Anonymous||reply 117||Last Sunday at 8:27 PM|
In the middle of a close reelection that was predicted he would probably lose? You think he was going to "lose" a war and be seen as soft on communism? No. He would have ratcheted up the war.
|by Anonymous||reply 118||Last Sunday at 8:28 PM|
r118 Why would you think Kennedy would lose in 64?
|by Anonymous||reply 119||Last Sunday at 8:36 PM|
I couldn't say either way. The assassination made Kennedy, in memory, seem a lot more popular than he was at the time. It would have been a tough battle for reelection. I'm just really commenting on why he would deescalate and withdraw from Vietnam. Especially after losing Cuba and the fact that the Vietnam war was unpopular at the time. In 64 it was barely on the radar. He wasn't going to take a hit for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 120||Last Sunday at 8:40 PM|
Historians and people who were actually close to JFK said he wouldn't have escalated Vietnam.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||Last Sunday at 8:57 PM|
According to gallup Kennedy was very popular, maybe not so much in the south, but it think he would have done well in '64

JFK Jr had no issue with gays . This is a clip of him campaigning for Ted in front of a LGBT audience. Speaking without a script. Articulate, intelligent. He charmed the pants off em. He calls Gay right "our " rights. To think of the scum sitting at his dad's desk. What a loss to America.

How do they know? It was his war he had to win it. The PT 109 was a joke spun by his father.
JFK 's Prize winning Profiles in Courage were written by other men.
He escalated the cold. Joe was smart. A criminal but smart. Bob Kennedy was fighting the mob when it got his brother elected? How stupid could one be? And Ted as we all know was a cowardly disaster.
And the above poster knows no Irish Catholics or even Catholics in general which says a lot about him. Or else is a Catholic and is so superstitious his mind has turned to mush.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||Last Monday at 12:24 AM|
R118, Goldwater was seen as the heavy favorite to win the '64 nomination even when JFK was still alive; there was no way he was going to defeat Kennedy.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||Last Tuesday at 5:01 AM|
It could be revisionist history on their part, but many aides who wrote books said Kennedy was waiting for post-election to withdraw troops from Vietnam. He knew the blowback would be great, so he didn’t want to do it before his re-election campaign.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||Last Tuesday at 5:15 AM|
