Did You Ever Catch a Friend in an Embarrassing Lie?
My friend told everyone he had a glamorous job at the Woodruff Arts Center.
One day, I called him because we were supposed to have lunch. He said he had an awful cold and couldn't make it.
So we canceled. Then, I thought I would go by this great Thai restaurant, that made a wonderful chicken soup, and drop it off for him to make him feel better.
When I got there, there was no receptionist on duty, so I walked back through the offices.
Some woman asked me, "Are you looking for someone?"
I said, "Yes, [his name] his is the [his job title]."
She looked at me like I'd just opened a spoiled can of cat food.
"Him?" she asked. "He hasn't worked here in AGES!"
It was obvious that he'd been fired.
I never said anything.

"his is " should be "he is"

The Woodrull Arts Center is the Lincoln Center of Atlanta.
Yes, lesser, but still prestigious.

My neighbor's son Joel told me that he was hung with 9 inches and was a top, he lied.

Why should anyone be expected to automatically know what the Woodruff Arts Center is?

A very beautiful very rich college friend told people she was a princess but some fellow Indians revealed she was new money billionaire Mumbai spawn. She still lived in a palace with many servants, so.

An old girlfriend from 40 years ago apparently photoshopped pictures of us together into a pic of us having gone to her HS prom. Her husband asked me about it when we met. We never went to her HS prom. I didn't know what to say, so I used the old, "I must have been so high, I forgot" excuse.
I didn't really understand why her husband wanted to grill me on this the way he did, but he wouldn't let it go.

OP bitch no, there was an exact same thread like this with exact same story years ago on DL. Stop stealing people thread and make up your own.

R14 Because he suspects his wife is a liar and wanted confirmation from someone who knew her back then and would know. Instead, you chose to be an enabler to her bullshit and he now knows you can't be trusted to tell the truth either.

And R14 she told him you popped her cherry that night.

Really, R14?
Your psycho ex forged a seminal, coming-of-age moment complete with Photoshop fabrication, married someone else and you have no idea why her husband is curious?
That is some Single White Female shit and she’s supposed to be in love with HIM.

r16-r18 If he hadn't seemed like such an asshole, I probably wouldn't have enabled her storytelling. But he actually seemed more off than her story. I thought, is he going to kill her when they get home? I did not want to get involved. These are not people in my life. We simply ran into each other in a restaurant one night.

R19 he seemed that way because of whatever story she had been feeding him for years about you.

Good on you OP (or to whomever the story belongs) for not confronting your friend in the lie. People lie for all sorts of reasons (mostly insecurity, I think) and when it's stuff like this that doesn't really matter at all, you should always just let it go. Be a person who doesn't cause others needless embarrassment, even if they "brought it on themselves" by lying.
