You can work hard and earn a lot of money, but the government takes everything after the first billion. That's more than enough for any single human.

I wish they would tell us why they are running, and what about their platform sets them apart from the other Democratic candidates. When every one of them lines up behind the same policies and talking points (Green New Deal, Medicare For All, reparations), this whole process becomes a clusterfuck. We get it, you hate Trump, but why Harris and not Sanders? Why Booker and not Warren? Bonus points if you can do it without negative campaigning. You can criticize a policy without criticizing the person.

For instance, Yang has campaigned on UBI, and whatever your thought on the policy, it at least sets him apart from the pack.

Another example, Schultz (although if he runs it won't be as a Democrat) has said he's for a national "catastrophic care" insurance coverage to prevent citizens from going bankrupt when medical costs are too high. But not Medicare For All. Again, something that clearly differentiates him from the others.

Or Warren's proposed policy to break up large tech.

Let us know what your ideas and beliefs are instead of just attaching your name in agreement to all the other policies being floated.

OP, if you truly believe transwomen not being allowed to compete against cis women is in the top 1000 of the subjects that any politician (democrat or republican) should address then you are completely divorced from reality and should be institutionalized for your own good.

The democrats need to articulate. They need firm positions that they can not only defend but sell. The "take more from the uppers and provide for the lowers" message doesn't sell in this country. R's see tons of poor and disfunctional low lifes all around them, and taking from the tidy to give more to the mess doesn't sparkle. The D's need a sellable message.

R36 listed "Stronger more effective punishment for criminals." We already imprison more of our population than most other countries in the world. We give prison terms for many nonviolent offenses and run some supermax prisons that appear designed to drive the inmates insane.

WTF do you want us to do? Floggings? Public executions in the town square? Keel hauling? More severe punishment is not needed. Other countries have more humane systems that result in lower recidivism rates - we should follow their lead. (Our taxes would be lower without our current emphasis on vengeance over efficacy so this is a moral and economic issue.)

I do agree with OP's 3 points, though like many other democrats outside the progressive echo chamber.

People like R58 like to think they're smart but they're not. If they were they'd be able to quickly figure out how wrong their theories are.
