A recent thread about Fran Leibowitz mused about whether she had been in a "relationship" with writer Toni Morrison like Tracy Chapman had been. Wrong. Tracy Chapman was in a very public relationship with Alice Waters, who makes no secret of her pansexuality. Both Morrison and Waters are black women. Both are writers. The similarity ends there. Morrison is one of the great novelists of the 20th century. Waters is mediocre at best. If someone has information that confirms Morrison is a lesbian, queer gossip hounds would love to know, but I sadly doubt it.

Alice Waters sounded much more interesting--just reading Jeremiah Tower's memoir--Alice liked to sleep around, but it sounded like it was all guys. Jeremiah preferred men, but slept with Alice and, he makes a point of noting, sneaking off with Alice's 21-year-old boyfriend.
