I didn't imagine she'd have had ten performances in total.

One of my favorite movies is [italic]La7er Cake[/italic], in which she plays a small but memorable role. Stars Daniel Craig, Colm Meaney supporting, with DL faves Tom Hardy and Ben Whishaw in small parts.
Heads up: The only homosexual character is a crazed sociopath, but he's not even close to the worst criminal in the movie.

Sally deserved to win Oscar for her performance in The Shape of Water instead of McDormand.
McDormand was good but nothing special and she had gave the same performance in another ten films.

I thought she was better in Happy Go-Lucky than The Shape of Water. She was also good in Blue Jasmine.

Sally was outstanding in Maude, which was widely ignored b/c of it's early-in-the-year release date. She & Ethan Hawke should have been nominated for that one.

Totally agree, R12! Were you and I among the 50 or so people who saw that underappreciated film?

I first saw her in adaptation of a Sarah Waters lezziefest FINGERSMITH. In a cast with Charles Dance, Imelda Staunton, Michelle Dockery and Elaine Cassidy she she blasted them off the screen with sheer force of charisma and was sexy with it.
I think if she presented herself as a fashionista and was more ambitious she could easily have had Kate Winslet’s career.

Kate Winslet had Harvey's help.

She is a tremendous actress but I hated that acceptance speech. Don’t care that you are humble and nervous. Just say the speech.

Sally Hawkins, great talent but she is a regular looking chick. Super stardom may elude her for this reason.

She is quirky looking. Her looks remind me a bit of Karen Carpenter, Allyce Beasely and Jane Adams.

They included fucking Godzilla and Paddington but missed Persuasion, Fingersmith, X+Y, Desert Flower, Shiny Shiny Bright New Hole in my Heart, Tipping the Velvet, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky, and VERA DRAKE??
ScreenRant should be embarrassed.

No, she has lupus, unfortunately. It's not a secret. And it's taken her out of commission for long stretches in the past.
