She's had great work done
From another thread: I think actresses who've had great work should be required by law to name their surgeons.
Who's had great work?
I say Linda Gray, who is now 78 and appears to be easing up based on my Google search, but still, 70 fucking 8. Not bad by any measure.
Also, any guys had good work? Because most guys who have work done look sad and obvious.

Very few of those mentioned here have had good work done. Take away the mirage of wigs and shellacked makeup, you're left with women who look their chronological age. The exceptions are Sharon Stone. Sharon has great bone structure that deters sagging, and she doesn't resort to wigs or extension which is a telltale sign of old-lady-trying-to-look-young. Sharon likely had conservative eye lift and lower facelift (her jawline looks fantastic) and small amount of Botox (no frozen face and you can still see eye crinkles). I like how she's left her lips alone unlike so many of her colleagues at that age, and the fact that her trademark makeup is still clean, not heavy and overdone. Compared to the other ladies here, she looks very sleek and modern, which translated into youthful.

I thought that was Stockard Channing in R22's photo.
Sometimes the ridiculousness of some of these older celebs' plastic surgery adventures are indeed cringeworthy... But still, I'm glad for them that society today isn't the way it was decades before, when especially it seemed that older actresses were expected to dress, coif their hair, and carry themselves and the way they were made up according to some societal rigid requirements.
I look at these pics, then I think of iconic actresses from last century like Lucille Ball, Joan Crawford or Bette Davis--at the same ages as the worked-on actresses in this thread, Lucy, Joan and Bette at the same ages looked and dressed as if they could have all been their mothers!

there have been so many of these threads that I am beginning to find it creepy that some of these people are older but don't look like it or half of their face looks like 30 and the other half looks like 60. Valerie Bertenelli looks great, and I think she is close to Madonna's age. Who looks horrible. But she looked fanstasic in her 40s. Plastic surgery bought her an extra decade of superstardom but fucked her in the long run.
Paula Zahn looks great for her age as well. Judge Judy for being 80s looks good, she had subtle things done so she doesn't look elderly but she's not trying to look 35 either.
I can't think of very many other examples. Most famous women have too much done too soon and don't even look human anymore.

Jane Fonda is not an example of nothing more than desperation. She looks brittle and scared. When she got a chin implant because they couldn't get her any tighter, she completely altered the integrity of her face. Her eyes haven't closed in years. Streep just looks frumpy and fat. Her own age and wrinkles. The fat helps. Fonda could look five years younger if she'd gain 10 lbs. But the crazy neurotic bulimic old bitch won't. Fonda will not live to be 90. Her body is a mess of problems you can't see and dementia has already taken hold.
Sharon Stone, Linda Grey, Peggy Lipton and Paula Abdul all look pretty and great.
Angela Bassett is disappointing. She looks so fucking plastic now. When your features are that even and perfect and you start yanking and plumping, cutting and filling, plastic is what you get.
Viola Davis on the other hand, looks the best she has in her whole life. Suddenly she's a younger Miss Ross.

There's a difference between looking younger with good e.g. conservative plastic surgery and looking surgical e.g. weird. The former looks natural to the eye and mind's perception to what a young-looking older person looks like. The latter even though there's no or little wrinkle and sagging, the overall look is unnatural to our eyes. Our eyes and minds can gauge an artificial face. In fact in the plastic surgery industry, we call this "surgical look" because it's very artificial looking.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | March 25, 2019 6:52 AM

^^^Meant to say Madonna looks very surgical even though she has little wrinkles and sagging, she looks odd, artificial, and different (you can't see her old face anymore) instead of young for her age. Michelle Pfeiffer is straddling the fence, one more procedure and she's on the Jane train to Horrorville. To reiterate, Sharon Stone looks natural and beautiful for her age, I'm not even a fan. Well, I am a fan of her decision to not go overboard like most of the cohorts in Hollywood.

Diane Sawyer and Martha Stewart look great. I hate to know what Jane Fonda spends on her appearance, I don't think she's ever been a happy or mentally healthy woman. Everyone says you cant do anything for the hands, which is true, but I was always surprised to see how youthful Joan Rivers hands were though. These people should aim to look good for their age instead of aiming to look young. I think the Queen, who you can safely safe would have had no work done and I bet she doesn't go overboard with skincare, looks great for 92. Her skin is so supple for her age and doesn't look like it has ever seen the sun. Not many men look good, hair loss and weight gain ages men. If a man can keep his weight down and keep his hair when he ages he will generally look good. At the end of the day, if you had the money, resources and time to spend on yourself that these women have, you're going to look a lot better than average people your age,

Yes, Fonda did the wrong thing. But if you know anything about her she has apologised profusely and she works with vets trying to redeem herself and donates money to their causes. What she did was treasonous, yes, but I also think a lot of damaged and angry vets use her as a scapegoat for a war they shouldn't have had to fight, and as a scapegoat for their PTSD, and for the disgusting reception and ill treatment they received from the government when they got home. You don't see people pointing the finger at the politicians that sent them there, only Fonda. Fonda is no angel and seems to be a very selfish, shallow woman, but I just don't think she deserves all the anger projected at her. Some yes, of course, but not some of the vile things some people say. I also think it's a tad misogynist. Had a male actor done what she did people wouldn't condemn him like they do her. I'm not defending what she did, just think the hatred towards her is a bit misguided. A lot of vets who meet her with rage and disgust in their heart often leave with a differing opinion, my father being one of them.

Nobody cares about Fonda. She likes to get coverage for any and all kind of reason. She's not a big star in the minds of us who are under 50. She made 3 good films, each quite boring and depressing now. Though she was neurotically, erotically interesting in them. She certainly was a uniquely attractive woman. Not quite beautiful but very sexy and pretty. A perfect body. Strained, unfunny, repressed. Faking it. She is vain and shallow. Her causes and husbands and reasons add up to not much at all. She's always explaining herself and if at 80 you don't know enough to shut up and laugh about things, then she'll die as unhappy as she looks. She is like a smarter Streisand. Miserable, difficult, vain and using the public for cash and therapy. A dilettante.

Madonna is -of course- smoking a joint. She tries SO hard to stay relevant with young people. It is beyond embarrassing. R152 She had a hemorrhagic stroke so major surgeries are contraindicated for her. That just is more remarkable that she looks so good with minor work done. It means the most invasive procedures that she's had done are probably minor ones like mini-lower-facelift which only takes about up to 5 days to recover. Botox eyelift is another easy, no-brainer procedure that does wonders for someone like Sharon who doesn't need much to begin with, like I say she has great bone structure that defies much sagging. Most importantly she looks beautiful in a natural way with wrinkles here and there, which is the opposite of Madonna.
P.S. I was a nursing student doing clinical hours at UCSF where Sharon was treated for her stroke. She was in the VIP suite.

by Anonymous | reply 167 | March 26, 2019 10:39 PM

R167 Madonna had several facelift procedures, her mid-face appears to be pulled so much that her lips become deformed horizontally and downwards. That plus lip fillers give her face a very scary, nonhuman look. Don't even get me started on whoever over-injects her face, it's full of fillers maybe she has cheek implants too, looks very weird. Her upper facelift is very taut too, I suspect she has to keep using botox to bring her brows down in order to have that telltale surprised look when you're pulled too high and tight.

Well, no, it just means that the photo was taken using a long lens, which has very shallow dept of field. Long lenses are used when taking photos of someone from a distance, like paps do.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | March 27, 2019 3:19 AM

And your point is what R180? Do long lens photographs provide a microscopic pore view of dental work? That Lynch photo tells no one anything about her "cosmetic" appearance. She's more in focus than the background, but it's from a long distance & not a remotely clear picture. You knew what I meant. If you're concerned that she had an eye job, then ok. [quote] And your point is what [R180]?
My point is that the large words behind Jane Lynch not being in focus has nothing to do with the focus on Jane Lynch.
[quote]Do long lens photographs provide a microscopic pore view of dental work?
When hirez closeups of celebs are taken, they are taken from a distance using extreme long lenses. So while you won't see "microscopic pore view of dental work", you can see skin pores.
[quote]You knew what I meant.
You were implying that the blurriness of " the LARGE words behind Jane Lynch" meant that the entire photo is blurry. No other way to read into this:

Joan Collins is a lot like Jane Lynch. Glamorous sexpots who understand their faces, do their own makeup and have a variety of wigs to cover minor surgical scars and more obvious tapes. Sequins and cleavage do the rest. I think Jane is older than Joan, but you can't really tell. She's recently had an eye job according to R173 and he's still going on about her looking blurry at R186? Regardless, Jackie Collins died of liposuction and both Joan and Jane claim to have had no surgery. Jane does look good for 88, but she's hardly famous enough to compare to Fonda and Joan Collins. Without her makeup, Joan looks her closer to her age, but she's never as slutty as Donna Mills.

Seems like the hard part is finding a good surgeon to do the work.
by Anonymous | reply 200 | March 27, 2019 7:01 PM

It also has to do with good genes. Surgery can't reverse what you've got working against you, it can only improve so much until like Madonna, you go overboard and start looking like a desperate Pete Burns-like creature. But yeah, you have to choose a surgeon who is conservative and who is up on latest techniques. Those two factors are a must in a plastic surgeon. Next stage is to go over what would work/ won't work for your face because you don't want a cookie-cutter approach. Run away from the surgeon who promises more than he/ she can deliver, like I say, you can't change bone structures you can only improve on what you've got to work with.

I saw Goldie Hawn about 2 years ago at a movie theater (with Kurt and possibly her son) and sorry to say, she looked very weather beaten. She has looked somewhat better in recent pictures but her face has suffered the effects of way too much time in the sun and all the lasering in the world won't bring it back when you're over 70 (73 I think she is). I've seen Goldie several times in my neighborhood (Santa Monica) over the years. The one thing I will say is she has amazing posture--like a ballet dancer. It's nice she and Kurt have had such longevity. He's 5 years younger than she is.

Goldie is a trained dancer. She had ASS back in the day. Looked great in tight levis and a tank top and the trademark long hair for a long time. But she's had plenty of work done in her fifties and sixties. Sun damage doesn't fully hit until you're about 50. She doesn't seem to care anymore - which is the best way to be. She and Kurt have a vacation home near me. They are fun fine people, still a little wild. Goldie's son has too much of an alcohol problem though. He's sexy and glib, flirts with everyone, including rocks. They're a sexually free bunch for sure. But Oliver but looks homeless and old.

I think the key to good face-work is maintaining some leanness in your face so you don't lose your cheekbones (e.g., Linda Gray, Isabelle Huppert, Jennifer Lopez, etc.).

I've been reading the best facelift is a deep-plane facelift. It involves tissue and muscles so the healing time is going to be longer, but the results are suppose to be outstanding.

Madame Speaker's face has that "shiny paper tissue" look of too much work over too many years. The skin is very, very thinly stretched out.
(But I love her, anyway).

That's kind of the thing. You should only do it once, if a all. A good facelift and careful eyework. Once. Somewhere between 55 and 60. Because no one ends up looking younger in the end. If Fonda and Cher and Dolly live long enough they will look like old chubby ladies who don't walk well. That's life. But a mid life pick me up is not a bad idea. It's the microscopic obsession mixed with ever changing technology that makes too much work too tempting.
People who say everyone should stay away from fillers are right about inflated cheeks and pillow face. But seemingly unaware how many "beauties" in their twenties, thirties and forties stay looking that way with fillers and botox. It just doesn't announce itself as much on younger skin.
I've read here about all kinds of peels, and procedures. The truth is that other than cutting and pulling things tight, most all other procedures offer temporary results. Nancy Pelosi's skin doesn't look a day younger than 78. But it's not sagging. Get a good facelift and whatever blepharoplasty you need, and skip the rest.

Joan Jett is a hideous talent free mess. She has no hair...she left her wig in my friend's sink after a party, along with 2 used needles in the wastebasket. Not that long ago....I never heard of her. Regardless, she's a bad example of anything.

Yes, R264. I don't think that people shooting up is unheard of at a warehouse party but there were only two bathrooms and one was designated for women. Joan Jett was in there a l o n g time, and left a wig and 2 used needles behind. A few girls were waiting to get in. She wears wigs and has her face pulled tight. It's unpredictable who the people are who go for the whole plastic freak show. Rock and roll is not anarchy when you have no talent. Stevie Nicks had great cosmetic work done - and IONS of talent.
Don't ever stand behind a junkie with money. They take their time. A good friend of mine loved to shoot up in the public library. Not that she didn't have her own place and car. She just liked to browse the library at her leisure.
Joan Jett is a junkie. With a lot of plastic surgery. This party was at Amsterdam and W126, about 4 years ago. It's not a big story to us. Just that she left her wig in the sink - what the fuck?

Ann Curry looks natural and beautiful, great skin, she'll be 63 this year. I don't see obvious work that jumps out so if any it's minor and very conservative. She got wonderful bone structure, similar to Sharon Stone's this type just resist sagging. Plus Ann being half Asian (Japanese mom) works in her favor as far as looking younger than chronological age is concerned. I like that she too keeps makeup natural looking not caked on and her hair is her own not wigs or hairpieces that screams desperation.

Hoffs also looks "different", which is what good surgery shouldn't do to your face. You want to look younger like younger version of yourself, not different. She still looks good but definitely I think a procedure or two too far so that there's an unnatural overall look. She should stop now.

Anne Curry's fat cheeks and fat (immovable )forehead are not a result of weight gain. Fillers and botox. She looks OK in that posed pic. She's smiling - with her teeth. She could have an eyelift and a lower face lift for her jowls. She doesn't have to but the fillers and botox are not a great choice without them. Because she hasn't fixed her "problems" and only a part of her face can now show expression. Too many people have become used to this. Forehead and brows and real upper cheeks are meant to move and show expression. When we were in high school psychology class we did experiments of covering up celebrities smiles to view the real expression in their eyes. A lot of glamour cover shots revealed some shockingly sad, troubled and unhealthy people. Now we would have to cover their eyes and brow. Not so much to read from a posed smile and chin.
Anne Curry at R274 looks lovely? She's got some warm brown eyes and nice lips trapped in that face.

R275 You obviously don't know what you're talking about, I've worked in plastic surgery and know surgeons. Curry is one of the celeb women that surgeons talk about for looking great whatever work she's had done. Contrast that with Hoffs with her obvious fillers and eyelift plus other procedures. If you didn't tell me that was Hoffs I wouldn't know it was her. That's what I mean about good surgery let's you have younger version of yourself as opposed to looking different.

Oh, so you're the one who's met everyone or used to work in a field or once had an in law who catered a celebrity party or stood behind someone at the stall R 276? So nice to encounter you. Y'all sure are ubiquitous. I can't speak about Suzanne Huff. I've never heard of her but I guess she is meaningful to old white gays?
Ann Curry I can see and I know. I am ethnic which means that means we have thicker skin and that's mostly good but different for surgeries. Why Angela Bassett looks so Android now is because she had her face and maybe muscles lifted^^^^. She is showing it off and she's was a hard edge haughty pretty to begin with so now she looks like a superhero gorgeous villain in search of more talent. Ann Curry looks like she's ready for the free skate.
Curry can't be anyone's poster girl. I didn't say she looked terrible, just no longer relatable. Too much botox and fillers is much more disfiguring to expression than a fucking facelift. So whoever Hoff is - if she really is 60 years old she looks fantastic. The more melanin we have, the more reason to forego fillers and botox that bunches up flesh. Get one damn good facelift and and the upper and/or lower eye done and be DONE. Otherwise you're doing something every 3 months and people do obviously lose track and perspective of their own fucking face. Ms. Curry has a bee stung face in search of expression. She is desperate to be on camera again. Most asian and black women look ok at 63 without injecting silicone into their minor hollows. She looks all blown up. Soledad O'brien does fine without a doll face or begging to be accepted. Allows her to speak the truth too. Ann Curry was a wimpy chick who couldn't even project her voice. I'm tough. She's cute but she looked prettier before. Nice enough, but not stable enough. Her face has begun a transformation that will not end well. I know what I know. I bow to your expertise R276, so I'm standing tall.

Cher has an extra bottom lip though now. She had silicone gone wrong and about that she's fucked. They can't fix it anymore than she's already tried. It's quite noticeable. Mike Nichols used to tell an overly cloying actor with too much business going on, "You've wearing a hat on your hat." (Meryl)
Well Cher has a lip under her lip. She's not a good example of great work done. She would be a much better looking woman if she'd had nothing done. Not even her nose or teeth, ten times.

Dakota definitely had a chin implant or something similar--she had a sort of jowly chin for her age (and for a movie star of her age). She got Don Johnson's chin. Her jawline is much smoother now. The three oldest in the picture have great jawlines now. I wonder who did them. I'm assuming Stella has her original face still.

It makes me wonder what her plastic surgeon was thinking. I had silicone injected into my lips (yes, a truly stupid thing to do, but it was a loooong time ago), and my doctor would only inject a tiny bit at a time, and after several visits he refused to do any more. He said the silicone can travel within your body and end up in places it shouldn't, and that it can also cause bumps if it's injected unevenly. And I guess if you keep on injecting, you end up with the dreaded "three lips" disease.
The doctor's won't say "no" if there's enough cash changing hands, I guess.

A surgeon can fuck a person up, but “great work” is more than a skilled hand. People’s immune systems recover differently after being cut up and having acids and botulism squirted into skin and implanted into muscle tissue, fat sucked out with a vacuum, and then being sewn back together, and that is beyond the surgeon’s control. Implanting silicones and plastics triggers an autoimmune cascade disorder for some people whose bodies detect an invader and go haywire trying to kill the nonliving thing. (Have you ever had a splinter that “worked its way out” of your skin? That’s your body pushing it out because it doesn’t belong there. Some people’s bodies try to do that with breast, cheek, butt implants, etc., and some don’t.)
Facial structure also matters: the same doctor can do the same procedures on different faces and one can look like a former burn victim and the other like Jane Fonda because the procedures “settled” differently onto their different scaffoldings. Of course, the best surgeons understand this and adapt what they do to the different frameworks as best they can, but some aspects of how surgeries work out are beyond anyone’s control.
For example, my skin scars incredibly easily, probably because I have a mast cell disorder that makes even scratching my skin trigger localized and then bodywide inflammation. Inflammation is an immune system reaction and it interferes with healing. Some people may have different levels of this without knowing it and may end up more scarred than others.
My mother had to have a spinal surgery that involved removing two discs and bolting a titanium plate into her back. Not long thereafter she felt sick all the time—pain and nauseousness. Within five years she was miserable and within 10 years she had chronic diarrhea and was starving. We suspected she had an allergy to the titanium. We went to her doctor and astonishingly he kind of shrugged it off, saying yeah, probably, but too much time has passed to do anything about it since bone has grown around it and so you have to learn to live with it. She died two years later (one year ago) at only 67 from malnutrition that led to opportunistic normally minor infections—the official diagnosis was “likely Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.” She never had an autoimmune illness, and we believe it was triggered by the surgery. Lots of people have the same surgery by the same doctor but her body absolutely rejected it and it cost her her life. This can happen when people get silicone globs inserted into their faces and their bodies freak out because those globs don’t belong there. It’s only the doctor’s fault because probably no doctor should be mutilating people with unnecessary surgeries for superficial reasons—but exceptional cases of individuals’ bodies not reacting well to the surgeries are not really the fault of a doctor in many cases.

R334 It’s interesting how differently people see the same things. My mom always thought Cher in her natural form was stunningly gorgeous.
To me she looked like a pretty, much less homogenized woman with (currently un-PC, but...) more “ethnic”/less North/Western Euro features.
The Cher of my generation (“Believe”) looked “amazing” to me given that I knew her age. To my sister, Cher looked like a total freak, as did Joan Rivers and just about everyone with major facial surgery. We saw her in totally different ways.
One day probably five years ago I was watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and during a close up of one of the women, suddenly her lips looked grotesque to me and I kind of did a double take and blinked and like a magic trick in an instant instead of seeing someone who “looks ageless”—which is what I had seen before—this woman looked to me like someone who had been in an accident and had facial reconstruction. She looked like an accident or a burn victim. Then as more women were shown, almost all of them looked that way to me, with their puffy infectious looking faces, artificial teeth, weird little upturned button noses, protruding cheeks. Since that time I see people with these procedures the way I guess my sister always has. It’s so strange how that happened in one second.
I still tend to think women who have had a traditional, old-fashioned face lift look great. They look like themselves. But the squirting of a gallon of hyalauronic acid and botulism into people’s faces, and those terrifying duck lips, are just so fucking freaky to me. It never looks “young.” It looks like old ladies whose faces are infected.

One thing that makes Cher special is that (I think) like a lot of people, I like Cher a lot and I respect Cher and believe her to be an intelligent and bold person...and at the same time think pretty much all her music is fluffy, mindless drivel. The thing that makes her unique is that she knows it and actually feels the same way.
I admire her objectivity, too. She famously insulted Madonna by simply telling the truth: she said Madonna isn’t beautiful, isn’t a very good singer, is a terrible actor, has an intolerable, unkind personality—and yet is a superstar because of her charisma. And Cher admitted that Madonna outdoes her in several of these categories and is more creative, but that at least Cher is a decent person. Right on all counts.

That's why she was so effective as the mother in Mask, R339. Madonna couldn't have played that woman.

R340 Madonna has only successfully played versions of herself, in Desperately Seeking Susan, arguably in Evita, and according to some in Dick Tracy—that moll type of character has been one of her musical personae, as well. She was serviceable in A League of Their Own, but that role was emotionally flat.

I like Jane Fonda, and all this bullshit about "what she did in the Vietnam War" is complete bullshit. Complete bullshit peddled by the Right because Fonda is still an activist !!!
When the Vietnam War was raging, killing 58,000 American soldiers, with thousands more as permanently damaged casualties of that war, we had the Draft in this country. If you were lucky, a "fortunate son" you got out of it, like Bone Spurs or George Bush 43.
Bill Clinton protested the war. John Kerry, a verifiable war hero protested the war, Bobby Kennedy and Eugene McCarthy, and Senator Fulbright all protested the war. It was a bullshit war that the President had no authorization from Congress to prosecute, and which we ended up losing. Think about that: 58,000 men.
So you can sit here and ridicule "Hanoi Jane" all you want but she reflected her time. A lot of high profile people protested the war. Later, when those guys came home they were mistreated not only by the public, but by the fucking federal government.
Jane and a lot of others modified their criticism and she and a lot of others did a lot to change public opinion to becoming more supportive of the Vietnam veterans. She and a lot of others apologized NOT because they protested our policy, but they apologized to the veterans who were rightly acknowledged as victims of our bankrupt policy and the American war machine.

[quote]I had silicone injected into my lips (yes, a truly stupid thing to do, but it was a loooong time ago), and my doctor would only inject a tiny bit at a time, and after several visits he refused to do any more. He said the silicone can travel within your body and end up in places it shouldn't, and that it can also cause bumps if it's injected unevenly. And I guess if you keep on injecting, you end up with the dreaded "three lips" disease.
I hope you've had no complications and still look great R332. If you don't mind me asking, is there any special kind of protocol you follow to ensure the silicone does not migrate? I've heard as the look of really well done silicone is hard to recreate with any other fillers, so some surgeons still use high grade injectable medical silicone (silikon 1000) in augmenting lips.

I've had a nose job. And it required two more to fix it. Not just like that either. Lots of research, consultations and lots of pain and breathing problems. For years. Though I wasn't exactly disfigured, things went wrong. I had grafts to correct it and then my body rejected my own tissue. Not right away of course. So I had fillers to correct the visual imperfections. I was very scared to do it but guess what, that actually worked. (Not silicone, I'll have to get them every 10 months, forever) But I still wish I had never had even the first procedure.
Some jawline surgery and UNDER eye skin removal is all I would ever consider now. ONCE. Not before I am 60.

R332 here, replying to R345, regarding the migration of silicone in the lips. No, R345, I did nothing to ensure it wouldn't travel to places it shouldn't, and so far I don't think it has because I've had no pain or discomfort anywhere. My blood tests always come back looking good, so my liver hasn't been affected. I may not experience this...I hope I don't. My doctor was top notch, and as I said before, he stopped at some mysterious point known only to him, and perhaps this is why I've been lucky so far. When I bump them too hard (I know, how do you bump a lip?) it hurts like I cannot believe, so I'm careful not to do that, but overall I've been pleased with the injections. I'll never have Russian whore lips, but they look much better than they did before the injections.
(I was on Accutane twice, and if THAT shit didn't kill me, then the silicone probably won't!)

Yes Tom Hanks is decidedly less jowly and baggy under the eyes. He became diabetic, lost the weight and had a lower face and possible brow lift. A very light touch. His wife also looks completely natural but there's no way that nothing has been done to lovely Rita. I applaud all the people who forgo botox and fillers. Just a little tug and snip keeps your own features intact and picks up the slack. They don't look younger, just more the way we wish we would age.
Freaks like Dolly, Cher, Jane and Real Housewives and others are trying not to age at all. And of course it is a desperate losing battle that leaves them looking puffy with intestines for lips and crooked eyes and overly large teeth and no eyelids and sometimes three lips.

I was watching SANTA CLARITA DIET last night and there are some close ups of Drew Barrymore (44) and Timothy Olyphant (50) where I was distracted by the deep, deep wrinkles, especially in their foreheads. Smoking? Genes? Sun? I am 51, and I have two faint lines on my forehead and some tiny crow's feet. I don't mind them. I was a smoker for 20+ years, but I never was big on suntanning. My dad worked outside most of his life, but doesn't have a lot of wrinkles for 77, so I guess it is also my genes. I do however have droopier eyelids now, which I don't love, or the way my under eye area is developing.
Drew and Timothy still look good though, even with wrinkles. Drew is still cute..hope she doesn't ruin herself with bad plastic surgery.

If you watch Nurse Jackie, Edie Falco comes back 5 years younger somewhere around season 5 or 6. She was only in her late 40s but she was aging fast back then, and that short haircut didn't help with the overall look. I think it was all fillers and botox (she had that filler look) but it was pretty good, for non-invasive work at least. Often times, fillers just look odd - but she truly lost her facial fat so it actually helped. I wish I had pics but it's too subtle for people to have been talking about online. It's noticeable if you binge the show - not if you wait 4 months between seasons. So I doubt people noticed in the original run.

Roseanne had the best results with cheek implants that I've ever seen. Her nose job was also great. When you have a round fat face these were excellent decisions. Still she didn't later go for botox and fillers and she never blew her lips up. She gave herself a much more attractive appearance when she was relatively young, then left it alone. She looks great IMO. Chasing youth is where everyone goes wrong. Roseanne didn't do that, but she is an unusual case.

R416 I think that was the 93-94 season. The tan was heavy makeup they put on her because she had a facelift that summer and the surgeon left either a tool or sponge in her face and they and to operate again to remove it. She came back swollen and bruised and they had to cover it up.

I don't think Cher is even aiming to look natural, I think she's content looking like a caricature. I don't think she pretends to look anything else. Lauren Bacall had a facelift and eyelift late 80's, it was good work but then it sagged. In the miniseries she did about Doris Duke she is playing the elderly sick Duke with minimal makeup and it's not pretty, what look like skin tags/facelift scars under her eyes across the top of her cheeks, and extensive scaring around the front of the ears...Doris Duke had lots of work done so I guess it fit the role.

She's a great example of good work done. There's nothing wrong with wigs on old hags, but that's the last thing Bette needs. She has great hair. Not unlike Roseanne, Bette is much prettier as an older woman. With a little help.

Jeff Bezos had a very good facelift recently.
Most people did not notice because the change was very subtle and the work was excellent. We are searching for photos that show the barely noticeable scars but they have been 'cleansed' from the internet.
Does anyone know the name of the surgeon?

I remember when Jaqueline Bisset was on Nip/Tuck and they used this ridiculous blur filter on her face after she'd had work done. It looked weird. They did the same thing. I'm convinced that's why Nip/Tuck has never had an HD release. It'd be even more noticeable there. But she looks awesome with out without the filter.

I don't think Stevie looks great anymore. Clearly she's chosen her face over her fanny, and I know she's old, but she's too big. Her features are so delicate that a fat face overwhelms them. She looks like every other rich, pampered, SoCal socialite now. She's always been pampered, though, so...

This is Khloe kardashian's new face. She's completely unrecognizable on the show...it's not just an instagram filter. I was flipping through the channels and had no idea who that was - until I realized it was her voice. She had her whole chin and jawline contoured and a nose job - at the very least. She probably had a neck lift and chin lipo too. Even though it has that Kardashian artifial look, it's a major improvement from her Rumor Willis jaw/chin.

I know they're her trademark, but I think Brooke Shields would look better if she tweezed off about 2 millimeters of eyebrow hair (under side of eyebrows). That would open up some space between her eyebrows and her eyes. I think her eyes would pop (in a good way) more if she tweezed some hairs. Instant, non-surgical eye lift.

I kind of like Judy Collins’s appearance. It’s strange for sure, but I like that she has aged naturally and there’s something punkish about being an old person in a cheap little-girl wig. It could be a sign of dementia a la Baby Jane, or else it could just be a “fuck you; I like it and I’m wearing it because I am still fun!” It all comes down to attitude. Her wigs aren’t very different than Dolly Parton’s; the only real difference is that Dolly’s artificial looking from head to toe and so there’s no shocking dichotomy between old lady face and little-girl wig.
Old people who have a sense of humor about their appearances and malfunctions win my heart. You can choose to resent all the changes and suffer, to try to battle them and end up ceaselessly frustrated, or to just laugh as the car you’re riding in starts to fall apart.

I much preferred Khloe K’s real face. I admit I watched probably half a season of the family’s E! show when it was new and she was the only one I could stand. The rest were all prissy, snooty glamour pusses and she was this big lumbering giant who seemed to have her head on straight and who was a comedian and also a Greek chorus saying what the audience was thinking about her dumbass sisters. I am sad to see that she had her bone chiseled down to make her look like a generic Hollywood starlet.

This one seems more recent and she looks how she does in recent interviews. She's 62... and the 3rd from the left if you don't know the housewives.
