Who was the Zodiac killer?

We haven't had a decent serial killer in decades. The Golden Age of the serial killer has ended.

I blame forensic science and all of the CCTV cameras.

The facts support Allen as the Zodiac. The murders stopped when he was in prison, and started again when he was released, I think. He also knew the first victims personally.

Richard Gaikowski. Google it.

Ted Cruz, everyone knows that.

Jake says it was Arthur Leigh Allen and that’s good enough for me.

Allen seemed like too much of a sad sack in all of his interviews for me to believe that it was him. And that book that was written was riddled with inaccuracies and a lot of quotes seem to have been made up.

I think it was Larry Kane.

The Ted Cruz claim is funny partly because he wasn’t even born when the killings started.

r1 the FBI maintains that there are 50-100 active serials killers in the US, at any given time.

I think Allen was the actual Zodiac killer, but that he also had accomplices who helped him.

I don’t think the Zodiac would’ve denied it if confronted. He wanted someone to figure it out. The Zodiac was a beast. Allen seemed like a wet noodle.

Could it be Ted Cruz AND Mitt Romney?

The serial killers now do not have mystery or Grace like Zodiac did. I miss him.

Mitt Romney was old enough, but Ted Cruz wasn’t born until 1970 or something. The killings started in the late ‘60s. Christ.

Serial killers are still out there, some even lurking on here supporting our President and slamming Madonna.

One of the all time worst was Dean Corll. Sadistic as they come. Killed probably over 50 but credited with 28. He was brazen and grew more and more sadistic until he was almost in a frenzy at the end and was killed by an accomplice. Trivia- he went to my elementary (though NOT when I went there I am only 33) but he attended that elementary (in Pasadena, Tx-home to Gilley's and the film Urban Cowboy) at the same time as Sharon Tate.

He was overshadowed by John Wayne Gacy only because of the clown aspect. Dean was worse.

Louis Joseph Myers confessed to a friend and had connections to some victims as well.

Vivian Vance. Ever since she died, the killings have ceased.

[R1] I agree that the Golden Age of Serial Killers has passed. Two reasons: like you mentioned, forensic science & CCTV have made them easier to catch before they accumulate a serious body count; intelligent serial killers are getting smarter about leaving evidence behind, learning from all the books, documentaries and TV-series. For example, serial rapists are now wear condoms to avoid leaving behind semen evidence.

We are in Golden Age of Mass Murderers. The availability of guns and rise of social media have made the unhappy members of our society strike back those they imagine are to blame.

The Gilgo Beach killer is still out there. Now, THAT is a professional. He used one victim's cell phone to call her family and taunt them. The police identified the call as coming from Times Square where it's impossible to isolate one individual.

Today's serial killers know they can't get away with one at a time over a long period so they kill them all at once.

Most Police Agencies don’t want to deal with the media scrutiny or pressure by announcing there is a possible serial killer operating in their jurisdiction.
