Seventh Heaven

It bothers me that there are these fond nostalgia threads for "Eight is Enough,' "The Brady bunch," and "Little House on the Prairie," but when it comes to happy wholesome family shows, no one here seems to give "Seventh Heaven" the love it deserves.

None of those other shows had the beauteous Beverly Mitchell, for one thing.

That heartwarming family crap makes me puke. Forget waterboarding: this would make me hang myself in my jail cell.

No mention of the paedophile dad?

by Anonymousreply 3March 19, 2019 3:09 PM

How many 7th heaven kids in that pic were assaulted by the pedo "Dad" actor?

This shitty show is still in reruns on the cable. Cosby this show!

I wonder what ever happened to the twins. Are they useful, productive members of society? Did they ever learn how to pronounce words correctly?

by Anonymousreply 5March 19, 2019 3:11 PM

That show was a trip.

by Anonymousreply 6March 19, 2019 3:14 PM

Can't believe this was an Aaron Spelling show.

I randomly watched one episode as a kid and the children were all huddled together somewhere in the rain saying "When will our parents pick us up?" So I got the impression they were all foster kids that came in a package for some reason, waiting for adoption. None of them looked alike so it made sense to me. Only years later did a friend tell me they were all supposed to be their biological children.

Hated her.

by Anonymousreply 10March 19, 2019 3:20 PM

I just can't imagine why nobody feels such nostalgia about a show... what was it called again?

by Anonymousreply 11March 19, 2019 3:28 PM

I thought the young blond kid looked a lot like the mother. They did a good job choosing him for the role.

we had to watch a few episodes of this for a class in high school and everyone was groaning and laughing and making funny comments bout how crappy the show was. That made it bearable.

David Gallagher grew up to be a hottie. What's his story? Gay?

When Lucy was young, she was boy-crazy and annoying, but as she got older she just wanted a few simple things that any God-fearing Christian woman wants:

*to serve her God and her community

*the love of her close-knit Christian family

*to be fucked by the big sloppy dick of her God-fearing husband

Perhaps the reason is that you confuse "happy wholesome" family shows with shows for which the majority of people have happy memories?

Or perhaps it's simply that the other shows were less obvious about pushing their fundie nutbag religious doctrine under the guise of "happy wholesame" entertainment - a doctrine which, at the time, told the majority of us that we would burn in hell for all eternity for our sins, irrespective of how "loving" the family depicted were.

You're going right to hell, r15.

Horribly written, horribly acted show. Just nonsensical garbage, though they did cast lots of twinks over the years.

13 year old me busted my first nut to Simon Camden. Gallagher started my thick eyebrow obsession, which led me to Joe Jonas, Nick Hoult, and the magnificent Dave Franco. I like em thick!

I was also hot for Legolas, (Lil) Bow Wow and Aaron Carter around this time.

About 8 months ago, my husband stopped at hung the news as we got into bed each night. He became tired and saddened by all the discord. So he started streaming 7th Heaven episodes in order...he said it just felt comforting and fun to watch that instead of news shows.
