'Married dentist' Jim Raman from 'The Amazing Race' dead at 42

This is odd:
In a statement, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said: “Nothing suspicious or criminal is involved with the case you are referencing and out of compassion and respect for family my office will not comment on it.”
Sounds like suicide to me. Sad that it still has a stigma with many people who seem to view it as something shameful that must never be acknowleged.

He was extremely intense during the competition. I’m thinking either steroid use/abuse or being bipolar was involved. Suicide or perhaps his heart gave out. He was definitely an intense, super-competitive type-A male who always seemed to be “on” even during what should have been relaxed interactions. I also recall that at times he wasn’t very nice to his wife on the show.

Do a google on Jim Raman bodybuilder and you’ll find an article in NY Times how 22 years ago, 20 yo Jim Poisoned himself with a bad batch of GHB that he cooked up in a basement in Long Island with his body building pals.

I remember him and his wife. I was a big fan of them! But I'm always a fan of the overly competitive teams. So sad.
