Saturday Night Open Thread

Post anything that comes to mind or just some random nonsense.

I'll start...

I've slept half the day away.

by Anonymousreply 41March 17, 2019 11:20 PM

The New Zealand terrorist drove a white Subaru.

by Anonymousreply 1March 17, 2019 12:07 AM

Apparently dead people come back as birds.

by Anonymousreply 2March 17, 2019 12:08 AM

SNL ain’t what it used to be.

by Anonymousreply 3March 17, 2019 12:08 AM

Internet anonymity brings out the worst in people.

by Anonymousreply 4March 17, 2019 12:08 AM

Also, with the number of birds in the world, you'd think there would be a lot of dead birds basically everywhere, but you almost never see a dead bird. What gives?

by Anonymousreply 5March 17, 2019 12:10 AM

The rain is coming down so heavily that I can’t go outside. And I like walking in the rain.

by Anonymousreply 6March 17, 2019 12:11 AM

[quote] Also, with the number of birds in the world, you'd think there would be a lot of dead birds basically everywhere, but you almost never see a dead bird. What gives?

*cough*

I slept most the day. Took a sleeping pill at 6am woke up at 630 pm. For second day in a row I had catfish. Watching a Lassie movie with Janet Leigh. Trying to find some porn with Elder Call from MB to jack off to.

by Anonymousreply 8March 17, 2019 12:15 AM

I think Amazon prime video is better than Netflix, even though they do charge more. Netflix has a lot of stinkers and I'm surprised that this isn't mentioned more often.

by Anonymousreply 9March 17, 2019 12:19 AM

R9 do you prefer Netflix to Hulu? The hub wants Hulu and I told him it's either Hulu or Netflix since we already have Prime.

by Anonymousreply 10March 17, 2019 12:23 AM

It's only 2C in Dublin. A frosty St Paddy's Day eve.

R9, Netflix is all about quantity. They throw everything at the wall and hope a few things stick.

by Anonymousreply 12March 17, 2019 12:25 AM

I posted "ooga chaka, ooga ooga" on some thread about songs you hate, which got me at least 40-50 likes. Now, I 'm always thinking about how can I top that, and then I think to myself, what a fucking narcissist. Please like my post, folks.

by Anonymousreply 13March 17, 2019 12:35 AM

You know, if I wanted to I could stay in this apartment and never leave. Whole Foods now delivers. Postmates will bring you anything locally. Amazon will ship anything straight to my door. As long as the internet stays connected, do I ever have to go out again?

by Anonymousreply 14March 17, 2019 12:43 AM

R10 Believe it or not I haven't tried Hulu yet. I have access to regular cable, prime video and Netflix. I feel that I have better luck finding decent stuff on prime and am often dissapointed by Netflix . Perhaps some Hulu users here can chime in.

by Anonymousreply 15March 17, 2019 12:45 AM

I have both but I probably watch Netflix slightly more than Hulu.

by Anonymousreply 16March 17, 2019 12:48 AM

I got Hulu on Black Friday for .99c per month. Loving it so far for the old sitcoms but not as many movies as Netflix. I’m been making my way through Seinfeld, Golden Girls, Bob Newhart and Married with Children.

by Anonymousreply 17March 17, 2019 12:48 AM

When the wind is right I call smell the food cooking at the Chinese restaurant 2 blocks away. The garlic is the worst for making me hungry.

by Anonymousreply 18March 17, 2019 12:48 AM

R11 It is but normal for the time of year. I’m in my house in County Offaly sitting in front of a roaring coal fire and won’t be leaving the house until Tuesday. Paddy’s Day here is school kids marching in the parade and people getting drunk.

by Anonymousreply 19March 17, 2019 12:51 AM

R18=Ed Norton waiting for the smell of Moo Goo Gai Pan.

by Anonymousreply 20March 17, 2019 12:52 AM

For the first time in years, I'm having Hamburger Helper for dinner tonight.

by Anonymousreply 21March 17, 2019 12:59 AM

R21, I envy you.

by Anonymousreply 22March 17, 2019 1:08 AM

Have had a bad cold all week and couldn't call in sick because of staff vacations, etc. So I was looking forward to this weekend very bad to relax and kill the cold. Didn't leave the house all day even though it was finally nice here in NYC. I just laid around and napped. I feel so much better - just in time for another brutal week at work.

by Anonymousreply 23March 17, 2019 1:12 AM

Tomorrow is Sunday. I'm getting up early and going to the baths. Making a day of it.

by Anonymousreply 24March 17, 2019 1:12 AM

The license plates came in the mail today for my new car. The randomly issued number ends in 666. What's weird is that I'd already named the car El Diablo, because it's red. Perhaps I should replace the dealer license plate frames with ones that say "Nissan Of The Beast."

R26=Uncle Travelin’ Matt from Fraggle Rock.

by Anonymousreply 27March 17, 2019 1:36 AM

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!

by Anonymousreply 28March 17, 2019 1:38 AM

I slept the whole day away. I feel guilty and just plain shitty.

by Anonymousreply 29March 17, 2019 1:42 AM

I’m kinda glad my dead relatives don’t try to contact me.

by Anonymousreply 30March 17, 2019 1:44 AM

George Carlin did a great bit on contacting dead relatives and vice versa. I miss him and comedians like him who ripped both sides to shreds. I’ve been trying to watch some comedy specials on Netflix but don’t make it past 10-15 minutes. Same 5 topics every comic talks about, the men need to stop talking about porn and the women need to stop talking about one night stands. Seinfeld’s little show “comedians in cars getting coffee” is a pleasant time waster.

by Anonymousreply 31March 17, 2019 1:52 AM

I saw someone pick their nose and eat it at CVS this afternoon.

by Anonymousreply 32March 17, 2019 1:56 AM

OMG. You weren't supposed to see that, R32!

I thought I was alone.

by Anonymousreply 33March 17, 2019 1:57 AM

Which is better Duane Reade or CVS? Which one do New Yorkers prefer?

by Anonymousreply 34March 17, 2019 2:00 AM

Does anyone know this song or can discern the lyrics enough to google it? I love it and would like to know. Download link is legit. Any help would be much appreciated. xxxo

I’m worried about money. I keep thinking about the man who dumped me well over a year ago. I’m now clean and sober over 33 years. Finished sanding an Art Deco desk today that I plan to stain. Made club sandwiches for dinner. Two different friends married to their male partners for over ten years had their partners tell them they were in love with someone else, and wanted a divorce.

I’ve been single for over three decades, and lately haven’t been as worried about it.

I’m now 70.

Isn’t DL fun!

by Anonymousreply 36March 17, 2019 2:44 AM

Entire day with family doing St Patrick’s day events. As much as I dread it, it really was such a warm, loving feeling when it over. Fulfilling and connecting. Even if it is the antithesis of what I would choose to do if given the option.

by Anonymousreply 37March 17, 2019 3:03 AM

I don't understand why people move to New York City and then sit in their apartments on a Saturday night and play loud music. There are plenty of wonderful bars and clubs they can go to and dance to loud music. I'm an old fart and I had my days of clubbing and dancing. Now I just want to sit in my apartment and read a book or watch tv. The dudebros below me are young and sexy. Why are they holed up on a Saturday night listening to loud music that talks about nikkas and hos?

by Anonymousreply 38March 17, 2019 3:07 AM

Worked with homeless guys at NYPL on 34th street. Finished off half a bottle of Malbec. Ate Chicken&Rice from a food cart. Now hoping for sleep.

by Anonymousreply 39March 17, 2019 3:16 AM

I like the Madeleine McCann series on Netflix but it could have been shorter.

by Anonymousreply 40March 17, 2019 3:34 AM

I just finished watching all 3 seasons of SALEM on amazon prime, and am now directionless.
