Kamala is already DOA

Poor thing.

Never really got what she was thinking.

"I've been a Senator for a year and half. I may look black, but my Mom is Indian and my husband's a white Jewish guy and I grew up in an upper middle class family most definitely NOT in the hood."

I mean I think down the road she has potential, but it's unclear why her.

by Anonymousreply 1March 13, 2019 11:50 PM

Too early to say. Once everyone is in and the machines start doing their work, many will fall. Trump never ran against Bernie and Bernie has enough baggage to fill the luggage compartment of a 737 (both candidate and airplane model doomed?)

by Anonymousreply 4March 14, 2019 12:06 AM

Enough with the bitch calling of every female politician, asshole at R2.

^^^Shut the fuck up bitch. I call EVERYONE bitch. Male or Female.

by Anonymousreply 6March 14, 2019 12:12 AM

This was probably a sound check about an hour before the event. We all know deplorables can’t be trusted with being honest.

Which bitch? What bitch?

But, but... I use it for men too. You don't expect people to buy that bullshit, do you?

by Anonymousreply 9March 14, 2019 12:15 AM

She’ll move up once Joe starts making some gaffes, and Bernie can’t explain how he plans to pay for free college.

by Anonymousreply 10March 14, 2019 12:20 AM

She's drawing crowds like Hillary di. Nuff said.

by Anonymousreply 11March 14, 2019 12:22 AM

How tone deaf can people be? Trump got elected because he is not a typical beltway politician. People don't want career politicians like Hillary or Mitt et al. They want to vote for someone who will speak to them about real shit. Like ending war, health care, education, sticking it to tha man etc.

by Anonymousreply 12March 14, 2019 12:30 AM

R9 You are a bonafide idiot. What planet are you on? When you come to this website what does it say? Join the BITCHfest. That's right bitch. So take your sensitive smelly vagina outta here. You CLEARLY don't belong.

Sing it, Sister!!! I need to put the BernieBros on pause because he all but assures Trump's re-election. Even Trump knows it and he's an idiot. Many Democrats still hate Bernie. Others would just see the choice of the two oldest white men on Earth and check out. Old white men are not what I want for 2020.

I would go with Biden before Bernie. At least Biden is road-tested. Bernie is The Titanic.

Or -- apparently -- they want someone to reinforce their base emotions: fear, envy and resentment of their neighbors. Even if that person is a lying, reality TV star billionaire who has never read a book in his life. Especially if he is a sexist, mean-spirited, foul-mouthed bigot.

BernieBros hate all candidates who aren’t Bernie, except a few of them like Tulsi Gabbard.

But I think they hate Beto most of all. Not sure why.

by Anonymousreply 40March 14, 2019 5:59 AM

R40, because they perceive him as the biggest threat to their Saint Bernard.

by Anonymousreply 41March 15, 2019 4:06 AM

The media latched on to her because she is sexy and cute...then they pushed Batty Beto on us...as usual things get ridiculous. Instead of running a very reasonably canadates...we go to extremes. Warren is not liked. Gillibrand is an unlike nobody. Booker seems to be hard to read. WE HAVE TWO OLD MEN RUNNING WHO EACH HAVE ONE FOOT IN A NURSING HOME!! When will Democrats grow a brain and just get a regular, intelligent, educated guy with experience as a candidate Sherrod Brown was the guy.

by Anonymousreply 42March 15, 2019 5:25 AM

Ok, it's clear this thread is owned by late-night DNC staffers on caffeine highs. You think Russian trolls are problem? Just wait till it's primary time. UGH

by Anonymousreply 44March 15, 2019 5:29 AM

R42, no idea where you got the idea that Beto is “batty”.

Sherrod Brown was evidently NOT that guy judging from how long his campaign lasted (it didn’t even really begin).

I agree with your points essentially, but your aversion to Beto is frankly silly and unfair.

by Anonymousreply 45March 15, 2019 5:41 AM

R19 R24 As a former Irish Catholic, I would say your posts are a WEE bit anti-Semitic. "Oh our Israeli friend is back" -- what is that supposed to communicate? I'm thinking it means, "don't listen to him/her, its a Jew." Am I wrong in my assumption ? And it's rich that you call the poster who calls you out a "Nazi." One should be more careful. Or self-aware.

[quote]"I've been a Senator for a year and half.

I think you're correct that running for President when you've only been in the Senate for 2 years is a bit premature. Obama did it, but he was an exceptional candidate who comes along once in a generation.

For most other candidates, running for President so soon is risky.

by Anonymousreply 47March 15, 2019 5:57 AM

She's going to get nailed to the cross because of her extreme AG prosecutions versus her current no-death penalty and weed and mass-incarceration messages. You can't back-peddle that much. Plus, everybody's going to know her first two federal jobs were given for "dating" Willie Brown, while he was still married. Church ladies still care about that stuff. Actually taxpayers do too.

by Anonymousreply 48March 15, 2019 6:03 AM

Kamala has very poor judgment. You would think a career prosecutor would be able to smell a rat (Jussie Smollett) from a mile away.

by Anonymousreply 49March 15, 2019 6:03 AM

If the rat is black, you can't attack.

by Anonymousreply 50March 15, 2019 6:07 AM

Isn’t she polling 3rd amongst democrats? That’s hardly doa. I think she has a very good chance which is probably why the op is sending out attacks. It’s too early to say who’s going to run away with this.

by Anonymousreply 51March 15, 2019 6:09 AM

[quote]her extreme AG prosecutions versus her current no-death penalty

What I don't get is, why didn't Kamala take a position against the death penalty when she was AG?

I supported her in 2010 and was glad she won the AG position over the Republican guy -- it was one of the few highlights that night in a bad Midterms night for the Dems (the other highlight was Sen. Barbara Boxer getting re-elected).

But then when she became AG, I was disappointed that she said she was going to do nothing about the death penalty. So she waits until now when Gov. Newsom says he wants to abolish it. Why?

by Anonymousreply 52March 15, 2019 6:10 AM

Just because you are a racist pig, r49 it does not mean she is.

by Anonymousreply 53March 15, 2019 6:14 AM

R52 She was defending it based on CA state law, which I think is legitimate. She should have said that at the time though- *except* logically she would have been undermining her argument, which isn't good either. I just can't can't stand her absolute current denial of a need for the death penalty, when CA has some of the most egregious horrible cases in the nation. There's a website that describes what each felon did to deserve the sentence.

by Anonymousreply 54March 15, 2019 6:15 AM

R53 So only racist pigs doubted Jussie? You didn't? Because seriously, if you didn't, you're on the spectrum, for sure.

by Anonymousreply 55March 15, 2019 6:15 AM

Sherrod did not run but he would have been the best candidate, who could have won. If you follow Beto and some of the very silly things he says you will think you are supporting a teenager.

by Anonymousreply 56March 15, 2019 6:18 AM

Across the West, there is more Indian politicians, hoping to get the Indian voting block, to get across the line.

by Anonymousreply 57March 15, 2019 6:22 AM

[quote]Sherrod did not run but he would have been the best candidate, who could have won.

You may be right. Nate Silver said last week that he thinks Sherrod was the strongest chance the Dems had against Trump.

by Anonymousreply 58March 15, 2019 6:23 AM

Nate Silver hasn't been relevant since 2012. Check your Blackberry

by Anonymousreply 59March 15, 2019 6:33 AM

[quote]Nate Silver said last week that he thinks Sherrod was the strongest chance the Dems had against Trump.

Where did he say this? I listen to every 538 podcast and read all of their politics articles, and I do not recall Nate saying or writing this. It would also be very (extremely) out of character for him to make a definitive statement like this, given the paucity of evidence.

[quote]Nate Silver hasn't been relevant since 2012.

This is one of the dumbest things I've read on Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 60March 15, 2019 6:51 AM

R60, Nate said this about Sherrod Brown on March 7 after Brown announced he wasn't running for President:

I am wise enough to know that this country is full of racist homophobes so I naturally believed him. Has he confessed to anything. Believe me, I never ever trust a Chicago cop. I know there are many ignorant racist here and many of you always assume a black man is guilty before any evidence is brought.

by Anonymousreply 63March 15, 2019 12:03 PM

[quote]When will Democrats grow a brain and just get a regular, intelligent, educated guy with experience as a candidate

'Regular' meaning a white, straight, Christian male. Everybody else is irregular and wrong, I guess. Never mind that the base of the party is black women.

by Anonymousreply 64March 15, 2019 12:18 PM

Sorry, only a white straight man with non-socialist views can beat Trump.

by Anonymousreply 65March 15, 2019 12:25 PM

The candidate who always wins is the one who voters “most want to have a beer with.”

That’s Bill Clinton, George W, Obama, and Trump.

It was never going to be Sherrod Brown, especially against Trump.

by Anonymousreply 66March 15, 2019 1:24 PM

[quote] Sorry, only a white straight man with non-socialist views can beat Trump.

Trump shouldn't have won. He upended conventional wisdom, so I don't think you can apply that conventional wisdom to 2020. Look at who won Congressional seats in the 2018 midterms. That's the direction our country is headed.

We just need Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. They have shifted back into the blue column. We do not need red or purple states in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 67March 15, 2019 1:57 PM

If it’s down to who people want to have a beer with, it’s Biden first. Then maybe Bernie and Beto. Although Pete Buttigieg seems like he’d be fun to have a beer with. If any of the women are in that category they’re going to have to prove it. Maybe Stacey Abrams.

by Anonymousreply 68March 15, 2019 2:03 PM

Who in their right mind would want to have a beer with an egotistical cantankerous prickly old fart like Bernie, R68??

No.

by Anonymousreply 69March 15, 2019 2:21 PM

R38 is correct. Andrew Yang is up and coming. This podcast is incredible, I had never heard of this guy before. He seems reasonable, articulate, intelligent, and very much for the working class. All the above bickering is exactly what the powers that be love. All these candidates are being fed to the fools. Listen and learn. Bernie is over, trump is over, Biden is over, and token identity politicians of all stripes are OVER.

I am so sick of people calling others racist pigs when they disagree with their position. Can we just take race out of it? Jussie's story stunk the minute it came out nothing to do with the color of his skin.

by Anonymousreply 71March 15, 2019 5:25 PM

Kamala is having a Town Hall currently. She's WAY too speechy and long winded! She's not even as skilled as Hillary at listening to a question and then steering it toward the answer or subject she wants to talk about. She needs to SHORTEN her answers drastically and make them more succinct!

She's letting Lawrence O'Donnell corner her on his obsession with "Bernie's Medicare 4 All, OR ELSE!" She should have snapped back at him and just said, "I'll sign what congress sends me if it covers everyone! Getting rid of private insurance isn't going to be some easy lift if you want everyone covered NOW!" Instead she kind of avoided his dumb question/trap.

I wish her voice wasn't so thin and shrill. People say that's not important, but it is, they're just unaware of it. I still like her, but I wonder if she'll take off, or not.

by Anonymousreply 72May 29, 2019 2:44 AM

Thank you r72. I liked Kamala from the start, but I quickly recognized issues with her presentation. Why these people don't include a speech therapist in their consultant contracts is beyond me.

I also notice that my boy Pete has issues maintaining eye contact. He, like Kamala, is sharp as a tac so I know his brain is just processing, but eye contact is important.

by Anonymousreply 73May 29, 2019 3:08 AM

Home-state Senator Kamala Harris has seized the top spot from Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Elizabeth Warren is fast gaining traction in delegate-rich California, according to a new Quinnipiac University Poll released Wednesday.

The latest Quinnipiac California poll shows Harris leading among 2020 presidential hopefuls, with 23 percent of California Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters now behind her — surging six points since the last Quinnipiac survey in April. Biden, at 21 percent, has lost five points in that same period.

by Anonymousreply 76July 17, 2019 2:26 PM

Kamala has made missteps (some big ones) but she's very smart and I hope evolving.

Also, I think she is relatable and likeable. Things Sec. Clinton was lacking. And yes, I voted for her anyway.

It's too early to tell yet but I see her as a strong V.P. choice.

by Anonymousreply 77July 17, 2019 2:33 PM

I find her very beautiful. Anyone else the same?

by Anonymousreply 78July 17, 2019 2:45 PM

No I think she's really attractive too, R78. I prefer Pete, Julian and Elizabeth to her policies and ideas, though.
