Didn't she also photograph him at his El Paso rally about a month back?
|by Anonymous||reply 3||03/13/2019|
The pull quote tho...
|by Anonymous||reply 4||03/13/2019|
This guy really thinks he is hot shit, doesn't he
|by Anonymous||reply 5||03/13/2019|
I would have advised him to not do anything right now that seems too Hollywood, like being interviewed by VF for instance.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||03/13/2019|
But he IS hot shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||03/13/2019|
long AND girth, praise baby jeebus that he's not mutilated
|by Anonymous||reply 8||03/13/2019|
Lookin' good Beto.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||03/13/2019|
I prefer Pete
|by Anonymous||reply 10||03/13/2019|
Twitter is losing it over that cover quote, and not in a good way. Imagine if Hillary had said that.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||03/13/2019|
[quote]long AND girth, praise baby jeebus that he's not mutilated
Oh, he's not. I'm sure he's circumcised, though.

That dog looking at the camera is like... yeah, you're not getting close to my buddy.
Could a former punk rocker and web entrepreneur be the candidate to beat Donald Trump?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||03/13/2019|
He's running, announcement in Iowa Thursday. I'm all for him getting in.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||03/13/2019|
You Beto Bros are having a hard time convincing the rest of us. He's too lanky to get me excited.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||03/13/2019|
Those long fingers.....mmmm
|by Anonymous||reply 17||03/13/2019|
If he is going to take his message to the national stage, we need to know what that message is.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||03/13/2019|
Why don't you go back and research his Senate run, R18? You'll get the idea of his message.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||03/13/2019|
Threads like this and the one linked are why I can't really take Beto seriously as a candidate. Half of the comments about him are directed to his looks and sex appeal. Sorry, that's not what I'm looking for in a President. I suppose Beto has a lock on the vapid vote though, for what it's worth.
Your thoughts, DL?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||03/13/2019|
He's running. Wow. Finally.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||03/13/2019|
Why do you expect DL to educate you about a candidate, R20?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||03/13/2019|
Lantern jaw. Not attractive.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||03/13/2019|
He has Muppet Puppet face.

R25, it's not for them.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||03/13/2019|
easy. He is an arrogant fake poser. wouldn't touch "beto" with a ten foot pole.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||03/13/2019|
Of course no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public, but I just don't think that serious people are going to be interested in President Pretty-Boy. It will come back to haunt him.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||03/13/2019|
Why don't the SJWs give Robert shot for cultural appropriation?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||03/13/2019|
And what was Beto's border security policy?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||03/13/2019|
He needs to fuck me RIGHT NOW!
|by Anonymous||reply 31||03/13/2019|
He could be huge. Both meanings.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||03/13/2019|
He was born to do me.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||03/13/2019|
I like him but I've declared for Pete already, sorry.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||03/13/2019|
I like Pete but I also like Beto. And Kamala.
That said I'm voting for whomever is the Dem candidate. I like them all in different ways.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||03/13/2019|
He would be the first straight edge president.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||03/13/2019|
r27, what in blazes are you talking about? He's never said he was Latino, he's always been honest that he's Irish American. He grew up in El Paso, near the Mexican border, so his given name Robert was changed to Beto short for Roberto when he was a kid.
He's not faking anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||03/13/2019|
Where does he comment on his circumcision status, R8? Is this part of his strategy in the primaries of appealing to uncut men?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||03/13/2019|
R30: Probably the same as every member of the House whose district borders Mexico. No to the wall. Every one but one is a Democrat by the way. Democrats are the only party serious about border security. And I don't even support Beto.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||03/13/2019|
[quote] Democrats are the only party serious about border security.
Democrat-backed bills would repeal S.B. 4, which requires local law enforcement to help federal officials enforce immigration laws.

Honestly, I don't get all the going on about his looks. He looks like a unconvincing low-rent Kennedy family impersonator.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||03/13/2019|
He's more handsome than any Kennedy except JFK jr.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||03/13/2019|
Oh please, those are Annie Leibovitz photo shopped pictures of Beto. He's average looking with an ordinary long and pasty face and big teeth. His skin is meh and he has a meth heady quality about him. There is no comparison to JFK, RFk or JFK, jr. You need to get your eyes examined.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||03/13/2019|
He's the only guy with moles whose photos are not immediately reviled on DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||03/13/2019|
Leibovitz's pics are great.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||03/13/2019|
So looking forward to the process. That said, I kind of hope Bernie wins, because his group are the least likely to vote Dem if they don't get their way. And they throw chairs. 😂
|by Anonymous||reply 52||03/13/2019|
Ugh, this guy worships Ian Mackaye, Punk rocks version of Bono. Pompous and Phony as a three dollar bill. I'm glad I'm not voting anymore. Good luck America.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||03/13/2019|
I would be mortified to lose to Trump.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||03/13/2019|
r52, 88% of Bernie supporters voted for Queen Hillary during the general, but keep spreading propaganda.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||03/13/2019|
Really, R55? I thought they didn't show up. They definitely get violent, so I'm all for them getting their way this time.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||03/13/2019|
When is Beto gonna buy a new car? For fucks sake, he's rich, his family is very rich -- who does he think he's kidding out on a dirt road with a beat-up pickup? Please.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||03/13/2019|
Waiting for someone here to refer to him to an elder-straight. He’s of age for aging millennial scorn...yet silence so far. Hmmm...
|by Anonymous||reply 58||03/13/2019|
You queens and Bernie Bros are the shitstains of the electorate. If you’re even part of the actual electorate. For every criticism of Beto, you should have to make it substantial and tell us who your preferred candidate is and why they’re better than Beto on a specific issue.
And you can only do that once his platform has been fully revealed.
Of course you can’t do that, so your shit-talking now is as vapid as you’ve accused him and his fans of being.
Kamala Harris will not beat him. Biden is possible but unlikely. Bernie is possible but not likely. If it comes down to Beto v Trump, Beto wins based on height, ability to speak intelligently off script, and lack of corruption and criminal behavior.
Pete B is wonderful but he’s a super-long-shot.
In the meantime, can’t we all just enjoy Beto’s bare feet? No?
|by Anonymous||reply 59||03/13/2019|
Tiny IQ45 would have Beto in tears ten minutes into their first debate.
Biden/Abrams, for the win. "America, Back on Track."
|by Anonymous||reply 60||03/13/2019|
He’s very cute and seems down to earth on instagram.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||03/13/2019|
Yes R25, certainly nothing will appeal to unemployed factory workers in the Midwest as much as glamour shots by celebrity photographers. This is truly the way to show Middle America his gravitas, and depth of character.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||03/14/2019|
R51 Leibovitz's photoshops are great.

|by Anonymous||reply 67||03/14/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 68||03/14/2019|
[quote]You Beto Bros are having a hard time convincing the rest of us. He's too lanky to get me excited.
He should lean into the Jimmy Stewart thing he’s got going.
Something slick about the cover photo reminds me of Clinton with the saxophone or Romney on the motorcycle.
Knock it off with that nonsense, it does the opposite of what your hoping it will do, guys.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||03/14/2019|
It's hilarious that people are flipping out about him sounding arrogant and competitive. I mean, have you seen who is in the White House? Why CAN'T we have a guy who has some experience, some good will and name recognition, and feels that this is his calling?
|by Anonymous||reply 70||03/14/2019|
Unemployed factory workers in the Midwest wouldn't vote for Beto if he signed a contract with each and every one of them to guarantee a living wage and decent healthcare.
Stop with the "oooh, Dems are too HOLLYWOOD and SLICK" whining, you diaperbabies. You're probably the same people who cry "oooh, his nickname is APPROPRIATION and no one is FOOLED by his attempt to look WORKING CLASS anyway" half the time.
He's fine. We have 18 months. Let it play out.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||03/14/2019|
"Annie did a much better job with my photo shoot."

|by Anonymous||reply 73||03/14/2019|
Sadly, Biden's moment has passed. He's been rambling and bumbling lately. Too bad he didn't beat Trump; I love Hillary but there are too many womanhaters out there- they were out to get her.
It should have been Biden.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||03/14/2019|
Wrong political era for the "Vanity Fair" treatment. Half of American voters already think most media is unified in a conspiracy against them. This sort of thing isn't going to help him, it will probably hurt him in a general election in 2020.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||03/14/2019|
[quote] Unemployed factory workers in the Midwest wouldn't vote for Beto if he signed a contract with each and every one of them to guarantee a living wage
You are so out of touch it is laughable.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||03/14/2019|
R67, He needs to stop with the hand gestures and moving his arms so much when he speaks.
The finger pointing worked for JFK, but coming from Beto it looks forced.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||03/14/2019|
Conservative Democrat famous for losing a Senate race. HARD pass.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||03/14/2019|
R76 Some people don't get it. Just because they don't want to personally be friends with some Americans in this country, doesn't mean Beto doesn't need their votes. DLrs can write off 70% of America, culturally, when it comes to forming coastal hang-out cliques but you can't write off 70% of the country in a general election and expect to win.
The radicals who are adored by pockets of college campus "Fidel Casto Appreciation" Leagues won't just not run well in a handful of American communities, they'll outright fail in 30+ states. If Generation Z of Brooklyn wants to acquire some learning about culture that they don't already have, they should take a cross country road trip on college break.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||03/14/2019|
R72 now that's a candidate. Nice dog. I hear he is very popular with the ladies ;)
|by Anonymous||reply 80||03/14/2019|

Go away you POS.

Is there a bulge pic?
|by Anonymous||reply 82||03/14/2019|
In the tradition of Kennedy, once again we have a politician who isn’t at all handsome yet because he has the right politics and isn’t as busted as most of his peeers we must pretend he’s a looker.
No thanks. The dude is an embarrassment, trying to be Hispanic and coming in with a skateboard like Bart Simpson straight out of 1992.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||03/14/2019|
r66 with the only question that matters.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||03/14/2019|
I had a Beto sign in my front yard, as I was desperate for him to beat the Lizard Alien. No dice. Now I would rather Beto to accept a VP role. But Trump showed us anything can happen. Maybe something good can happen this time. I'm like most people, I suspect: choose whoever is left standing vs. Trump.
I'm leaning towards Klobuchar now. There will be so much to learn in the coming months that I'm sure I'll change my mind multiple times, except for ANYBODY BUT TRUMP. We need the Senate.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||03/14/2019|
Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade on the Vanity Fair article: "They also point out that (Beto) has this huge library. As if it’s a big plus that he reads books.
BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): Vanity Fair has a huge article and feature on [Beto O’Rourke], it's almost as if they helped launch his campaign. Here's a quote from it, he says: "I want to be in it, man.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||03/14/2019|
Beto would make a great life model at any art school. He would probably be a fine relationship manager in a corporate bank. He could be the top seller in any real estate company. If he opened a hair salon and did hair while wearing a tight t-shirt and jeans, women and men would be lined up down the block.
Other than being young, white, male, filthy rich and photogenic, I'm not seeing Beto's resume as particularly presidential. Any Democrat over any Rethuglican, absolutely. But the Democratic Party is big and, at least at this juncture, there seem to be better candidates for the Democrats to back.
I'm not suggesting that Beto is unable to be president, or even unsuited to it. But he's getting ahead of himself. He's inexperienced and, therefore, not yet qualified.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||03/14/2019|
Ok r87, is Pete Buttigieg equally unqualified?
|by Anonymous||reply 88||03/14/2019|
God spare us: another Trudeau. And the same queens who fingered themselves here into a frenzy over that hollow piece of shit are doing it all again. Some losers never learn. Not that, of course, their policies matter. Heaven forbid!
|by Anonymous||reply 89||03/14/2019|
R88, Buttigieg's educational resume is far richer than Beto's. But Beto has served three terms in the House of Representatives.
Some significant experience in the federal government is necessary to be successful in the White House. If Obama had been more seasoned in D.C. when he became President, he might not have pissed away valuable time and opprotunity in his naive pursuit of grand bargains and compromise. He was totally stonewalled by the GOP and didn't seem to even see it happen. I don't want to go through that again. Ever.
So to answer your question more specifically, I think Buttigieg is even less qualified than Beto, vis a vis 2020 Democratic Presidential candidacy.

If he was really into punk rock, I guarantee they'll find some offensive photos of him somewhere. Either that, they'll dig up some songs/bands he was into and try to discredit him with a 30 second blurb with the lyrics printed out for all to see(i.e. Kill the poor).

The rolled-up sleeves is an old politician cliche. It is meant to communicate "I am professional but am willing to ROLL UP MY SLEEVES to be down to earth and talk to regular Americans." It as transparent an image ploy as one could dream up, but this is Beto, after all.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||03/14/2019|
Kamala Harris will eat him alive in debate.

|by Anonymous||reply 117||03/14/2019|
|by Anonymous||reply 118||03/14/2019|
Chris Matthews and his panel was practically swooning over Beto tonight. Like one of the panelists said, "You can teach a candidate on policy, but you can't teach charisma, and this guy has charisma."
He also said that every Democrat who's broken through in recent times has been aspirational in tone, like Bill Clinton and Obama. That's what Democrats ultimately respond to. They don't respond to attacks and negativity in the way that Republicans do.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||03/14/2019|
I think Vanity Fair was a mistake and Oprah was a mistake. I also think he knows he isn't experienced enough to make president...this time.
Beto is running for the VP slot. Capture youth, capture disillusioned miillenials, capture the heart throb vote... he's seeking 2024 (via Biden) or 2028.
|by Anonymous||reply 120||03/14/2019|
You've got to be kidding, OP.
He's a fucking lightweight with experience in NOTHING.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||03/14/2019|
Time to revisit some predictions from the first Beto 2020 Beto 2020 Beto 2020 thread.
[quote]There is no Beto campaign. I hope he announces his challenge of Cornyn next week.
[quote]R364 Beto is a potential Veep right now, more than a Prexy. I see him as a Veep with Harris, Klobuchar, Warren, Booker - the serious contenders. It's dicier with old man Biden, though - if he really manages to steal the primary, he's going to need someone other than a white man (even a young, hot one) for his Veep pick.
“The serious contenders” ^^^^ hahaha.
[quote]He won't run. His heart isn't in it. He hasn't responded well to even basic interviews since his senate run. Some people are better eye candy than presidential canddiates

|by Anonymous||reply 129||03/14/2019|
The Beto hate on DL is very interesting. Some of you must really be worried about his candidacy, or the candidacy of your preferred politician, to be exact.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||03/14/2019|
Lol R130. Okay. Sure. We’re terrified of this guy who’s most famous for losing to Ted Cruz.
|by Anonymous||reply 131||03/14/2019|
[quote]Lol [R130]. Okay. Sure. We’re terrified of this guy who’s most famous for losing to Ted Cruz.
You are constantly misframing his loss, obviously intentionally. Cruz won the race 50.9 to 48.3 percent, the closet U.S. Senate race in Texas since 1978. For comparison, Sanders's lost in the primaries by 12 percent.
You can bend the narrative all you want, the facts are not on your side. And I'm not even a Beto fan, I just see it as it is.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||03/14/2019|
R130 the trolls are Trump trolls and crazed frauen frightened a guy'll get the nomination.

If you’re a decent, honest American (or a decent, honest human living anywhere in the world) there is no denying the inspiring, progressive message in this video. None of the other candidates have this. Anyone who disagrees is just in denial. Or they’re a Republican. Or a Russian troll. Or a Bernie cultist.
O'Rourke rallied supporters to his cause in a campaign video saying we are "the last great hope of Earth" in a moment of "maximum peril."
|by Anonymous||reply 136||03/14/2019|
Does anyone think Beto has ever cheated on Amy?
|by Anonymous||reply 137||03/14/2019|
R136 The opinion of the O'Rourke campaign office is duly noted. You can shut the lights off now. Don't pay attention to the laughter you hear from your computer.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||03/14/2019|
R123 I'm not sure Beto would want his staffers saying their assholes are unwashed on social media, but Ok. I'll pass. And yes, on that too.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||03/14/2019|
Beto will wilt under the pressure when the time comes to confront Trump. He couldn't even adequately that weasel Cruz. He has no ability to go for the jugular. We need a fighter, not a wimp.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||03/14/2019|
LOL at R138.
|by Anonymous||reply 141||03/14/2019|
R138, you said absolutely nothing of any substance. I guess that’s laughable?
|by Anonymous||reply 142||03/14/2019|
[quote] He couldn't even adequately that weasel Cruz.
Thanks for taking his loss completely out of context. But we kind of know this is one of your condescending and flawed attacks, so... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
|by Anonymous||reply 143||03/14/2019|
I’m not a Beto “staffer”, I’m just fed up with trolls, and I’m not afraid of any of you shitstains.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||03/14/2019|
No, R137, I don’t think anyone thinks he’s ever cheated on Amy. Do you?
|by Anonymous||reply 145||03/14/2019|
Beto is actually the only candidate who has been thoroughly vetted by the worst of the GOP. Which is probably why the GOP's going nuts attacking him. The cupboard is bare. Here's Ted Cruz's campaign manager. He's the one who dug up the Melania lesbian nudies.
It is pretty clear that Texas Senator Ted Cruz is playing hardball.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||03/14/2019|
R144 is NOT afraid to post anonymous messages on DL ! May all of us shitstains aspire to such bravery.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||03/14/2019|
I can't believe how are falling over themselves for him. Beto couldn't even win the debates with Cruz, which is not hard to do when you're dealing with a scumbag and liar. How can we expect him to debate Trump? Beto is full of platitudes, but lacks any substance.
Oh, I'm Mr. Nice Guy, and i promise to work with Republicans. That's not going to work.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||03/14/2019|
Beto was fine in the debates and Cruz is a professional debater. Austan Goolsbee who hates Cruz's guts, was on the Princeton Debate team with Cruz. He said Cruz wins debates on technicalities - he lies continually which forces his opponent to waste time correcting the lies instead of pursuing their own argument.
Trump is 1/100th as intelligent as Cruz though every bit as big a liar.
|by Anonymous||reply 149||03/14/2019|
R149 If you're a decent debater, nobody forces you to do anything. Beto just has no real ethos, and by the way he's advocating take down all border fences and walls in a border state. Sounds like magic to me. What could stop him?
|by Anonymous||reply 150||03/14/2019|
Yes, R148, it is going to work. And Beto will pull out the big guns if/when necessary. No idea why you’re assuming Trump will be running again in 2020, though.
People are indeed tired of the hatefulness and dividedness of this country. This WILL BE a “change” Election, and Beto is going to be the change people are looking for.
Don’t believe me? Just watch.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||03/14/2019|
R151 Ok, I'm trying to thread the needle between "pulling out the big guns" and fighting hatefulness/ divisiveness in the US. How does that look IRL? Sounds like Beto is going scorched-earth, if you have the inside knowledge you allege. Doesn't sound like toning down division to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 152||03/14/2019|
a) Trump won the presidency with zero government experience. And even zero legit corporate experience! He always worked in a family business, hidden from shareholders and obscured from the government!
b) Beto served three terms in the U.S. House — TWO MORE THAN ABRAHAM LINCOLN, who was later elected president. (Beto also served as an El Paso city councilman; very relevant and valuable experience, as it's a U.S.-Mexico border town that also happens to be one of the safest cities in the U.S.)
Pelosi weighed in on the experience question perfectly.
“.@Kasie: "Do you think that the experience [@BetoORourke] has here in the House is a strong enough foundation to jump to the Oval Office?” @SpeakerPelosi: “And you ask me that when we have a President of the United States who never – you know – please. Yes, the answer is yes.” https://t.co/YLDK1FPYSF”
|by Anonymous||reply 153||03/14/2019|
Let's face it, Pelosi has very little idea of what's going on at any moment. Beto's experience is not so much the issue --t his accomplishments and ideas are. He's very vapid. And what he doe say, for instance eliminating all borders, is ridiculous. Which means he is too.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||03/14/2019|
He looks hot as fuck. Nice pecs in that shirt.
|by Anonymous||reply 155||03/14/2019|
The guy pulls off that lean, tucked in shirt / denim look that few 46 year olds can. He’s hot even with a butter face (in certain angles). I want him in me quite deeply.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||03/15/2019|
Nobody who wants to be taken seriously or thinks critically post feels the need to include the words 'and anybody who doesn't think so is...' It applies to everyone but especially to someKamalastans and newly emerged Betostans. Election season is so depressing around here for what it reveals about us.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||03/15/2019|
there MUST be something in that pocket
|by Anonymous||reply 158||03/15/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 160||03/15/2019|
I love Pelosi
|by Anonymous||reply 161||03/15/2019|
He’s the male AOC (who, herself is the Left’s Sarah Palin).
He looks like a Kennedy (most like Bobby, IMO), and I think people respond to that.
|by Anonymous||reply 162||03/15/2019|
Another white male. We've had that over and over. Enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 163||03/15/2019|
Beto needs to start screaming at staffers, throw binders at them, and make them work 100 hours a week in order to get any respect around here.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||03/15/2019|
The many photos of him sweating through his shirt are a good start. Are there any photos where he shows his pits? That's what I'm really interested in.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||03/15/2019|
Thanks, VF, I know you've done suspicions about women's political depth a great service not to mention acknowledging that while the aura of power enhances male attractiveness it makes people like Hillary Clinton unappealing, and giving a nod to future Monica Lewinskys everywhere.
Sometimes humour doesn't cover the stupidity.
|by Anonymous||reply 166||03/15/2019|
AOC is a tad but more substance than Sarah Palin...jeesh
|by Anonymous||reply 167||03/15/2019|
Beto is addicted to the high of campaigning. And he bores me.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||03/15/2019|
Dear r129, once upon a time there was a band called "The Dead Kennedys". They were a punk band popular during the 80's and had a song called "Kill the poor". It was satirical in nature and quite catchy with "the punks". What I was getting at in my post is that I can imagine someone pulling up a blurb/photo where Beto is wearing a DK (that's Dead Kennedys) t shirt and them pulling up lyrics to the song and taking it out of context. Idiots would eat it up due to their extremely short attention span and complete lack of individual thought and nuance, much like you. You may want to do a little research before you post an ignorant comment such as yours. And it's just called punk, not "punk culture". Now, go eat a filthy truckers musky, unwashed hole.
|by Anonymous||reply 169||03/15/2019|
For the cunt known as r129
I'll be uploading their whole 1980 debut "Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables" lyrics: Efficiency and progress is ours once more Now that we have the Neutron ...
|by Anonymous||reply 170||03/15/2019|
For those two things alone I would never vote for him in a primary. How could he ever identify with working people or the poor. However, if he's the nominee I would vote for him even if I can't stand him. If Satan is the Democrat running I would vote for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 171||03/15/2019|
R171 born in a log cabin, were ya?
I seem to recall that the most progressive First Family the US ever produced were aristos born into luxury. FDR and Eleanor.
|by Anonymous||reply 172||03/15/2019|
Make fun of his hand gestures all you want. Beto is still a very handsome guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 173||03/15/2019|

Who doesn’t bore you, R168?
What level of campaigning do you think would be more tasteful or less boring?
Please, delve deeper.
|by Anonymous||reply 177||03/15/2019|
R57, I agree
|by Anonymous||reply 178||03/15/2019|
Complaining about his hand gestures, which by the way none of you did until trump gave you the order to do so (and the sheep here on DL promptly complied), is pathetic. That's what you'll focus on going into 2020 election?
I will say the same to anyone who complains about Sanders, and his hand waving and finger pointing.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||03/15/2019|
Sanders actually hits women poking at them. He did it on the campaign trail repeatedly and smacked a woman on Bill Maher.
|by Anonymous||reply 180||03/15/2019|

Beto tells Reuters he was a teenage hacktivist as a member of the "hugely influential Cult of the Dead Cow."
As Beto O'Rourke starts his run for U.S. president, members of a group famous for “hactivism” come forward for the first time to claim him as a former comrade.
|by Anonymous||reply 183||03/15/2019|
I'm sure Beto has cheated on his wife with other furries.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||03/15/2019|
I used to be all Yeah Beto! but lately I keep thinking the guy is not ready. The way he promotes himself is shallow, with his wife lovingly looking at him for three minutes without even saying one word. Come on Amy, you're not Pat Nixon.
I am still camp Kamala and camp Amy Klobuchar.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||03/15/2019|
[quote]Complaining about his hand gestures, which by the way none of you did until trump gave you the order to do so
That's not true, I always thought and repeatedly said his constant hand pounding was stupid and I kept saying his team should advise him to stop with it. Trump just exploits his weaknesses. (Not like he isn't making the same stupid hand gestures all the time)
|by Anonymous||reply 186||03/15/2019|
Too bad he's a cheater.
One thing you didn’t know: While a teenager, O’Rourke acknowledged in an exclusive interview, he belonged to the oldest group of computer hackers in U.S. history. Members of the hugely influential Cult of the Dead Cow, jokingly named after an abandoned Texas slaughterhouse, have protected his secret
|by Anonymous||reply 187||03/15/2019|
You anti-Beto guys, are nuts, R187. No one's going to pay attention to your smears. The guy has way too much going for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 188||03/15/2019|
If he ran as a Libertarian I'd vote for him. Otherwise, no.
|by Anonymous||reply 189||03/15/2019|
Everybody check out Andrew Yang. Forget the rest of these jokers.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||03/15/2019|
I was interested in Beto too, but this latest incarnation show there's no "there" there.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||03/15/2019|
R191, what of his policies interest you before, but not anymore? Or did you lose interest because Leibovitz took pictures of him? Is that your criteria for a presidential candidate, Vanity Fair articles?
|by Anonymous||reply 192||03/15/2019|
Beto's detractors are freaking the fuck out over him running. They are scared shitless because they know he's a STAR with widespread appeal. They are throwing everything at the wall in hopes that something sticks. It won't work. You can't stop talent. It always rises to the top.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||03/15/2019|
But, but, but... he waves his hands when he speaks, R193.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||03/15/2019|
I'd take Pete over Beto anyday
|by Anonymous||reply 195||03/15/2019|
Beto was a great choice to run against Ted Cruz. He is the opposite of Cruz in every respect. It was easy to cheer him on in that confined space.
But early in this Presidential campaign season, when Beto is not so strictly evaluated against a festering pustule like Ted Cruz, he looks a good deal more lightweight.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||03/15/2019|
|by Anonymous||reply 197||03/15/2019|
He sounds like a goofball. Is he touched?
“I want to be in it. Man, I’m just born to be in it.” When that comes across as one of the more substantial parts of the interview, I lose interest.
tRump will make short work of him. If I'm going with a dark horse, it'll be Buttigieg. Beto is too "deer in the headlights."
|by Anonymous||reply 198||03/15/2019|
[quote] He better totally turn his back on the Hollywood shit now.
The best advice he'll ever receive. Hope he follows it.

I sorta want Pete Wentz to run. He's related to Colin Powell so he's got that.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||03/15/2019|
How come the rightwing is only attacking Beto? How odd. Why aren't they attacking alleged frontrunner Bernie Sanders? How odd.

I don't really give a damn who wins the Democratic nomination. I expect whoever wins will stomp the shit out of the presumptive Rep nominee. More important to me, I want a Democratic House and Senate. And then more Supreme Court justices. I think we'll get the presidency in 2020, and if that goes well, perhaps a Senate/House majority in 2022. Supreme Court justices? A plurality of justices who aren't pro-corporate sometime in my lifetime would be nice. But I'd be a fool to believe any of this is inevitable.
|by Anonymous||reply 209||03/16/2019|
r122, hold on to those quotes. You can use them again WHEN Beto gets the nomination, and yet again when he's elected President.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||03/16/2019|
r133, It's definitely Berniebros too, since they are doing the same thing on every other political site on the net; bashing Beto relentlessly.
He really threatens them the most.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||03/16/2019|
I am completely uninterested in him. He draws a lot of Obama comparisons but I can never imagine Obama actually saying or doing any of the things this guy says or does.

Lets just copy what has worked before, seems to be everyone's way of thinking now.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||03/16/2019|
R213 I doubt seriously Annie Leibovitz wanted to pay hommage to B- list actor Ronnie Raygun. Talk about digging. Beto wouldn't tell Annie if he was running or not so she said to him "look, wear the blue shirt to the cover shoot if you're running, the white shirt if you aren't." There was an article about Annie photographing him in El Paso. Annie grew up in El Paso - her dad was stationed there. And she sounded like she developed a crush on him.He made her breakfast - pancakes from scratch. If he can seduce 70 year old left-wing lesbians, he's in folks.

|by Anonymous||reply 220||03/17/2019|
Why do people ignore the experience of being a congressman for six years and somehow believe it is "less" than being a senator for six years or even fewer, a la Kamala Harris?
|by Anonymous||reply 221||03/17/2019|
Jesus, the mountain juxtaposing out of his head. What the fuck is wrong with Annie Leibovitz? Change your angle a foot or two.
He had me until the pandering apology for being a white man and the need for forced diversity in his cabinet. Good luck, son.
|by Anonymous||reply 222||03/17/2019|
R208: Why are you linking to the right wing Freedom Don't Work group? Do not do that again.
R209: You do understand the House and a third of the Senate will be voted on at the same time you vote for President in 2020, don't you? We already have a House majority, we need a Senate one and we can get it in 2020. The point will be to not lose either in 2022. And yes we need more Democratic Senators, which is why this guy needs to challenge John Cornyn and stay out of this Presidential race.
|by Anonymous||reply 223||03/17/2019|
