“How can you NOT want this man to have sex with you? I mean, be your President?”

by Anonymousreply 247March 19, 2019 4:07 AM

I bet he's hung huge.

by Anonymousreply 1March 13, 2019 11:11 PM

Feets trolls will enjoy the barefoot photo in the article.

by Anonymousreply 2March 13, 2019 11:13 PM

Didn't she also photograph him at his El Paso rally about a month back?

by Anonymousreply 3March 13, 2019 11:14 PM

The pull quote tho...

by Anonymousreply 4March 13, 2019 11:15 PM

This guy really thinks he is hot shit, doesn't he

by Anonymousreply 5March 13, 2019 11:15 PM

I would have advised him to not do anything right now that seems too Hollywood, like being interviewed by VF for instance.

by Anonymousreply 6March 13, 2019 11:41 PM

But he IS hot shit.

by Anonymousreply 7March 13, 2019 11:44 PM

long AND girth, praise baby jeebus that he's not mutilated

by Anonymousreply 8March 13, 2019 11:44 PM

Lookin' good Beto.

by Anonymousreply 9March 13, 2019 11:45 PM

I prefer Pete

by Anonymousreply 10March 13, 2019 11:46 PM

Twitter is losing it over that cover quote, and not in a good way. Imagine if Hillary had said that.

by Anonymousreply 11March 13, 2019 11:48 PM

[quote]long AND girth, praise baby jeebus that he's not mutilated

Oh, he's not. I'm sure he's circumcised, though.

by Anonymousreply 12March 13, 2019 11:48 PM

Pete who?

by Anonymousreply 13March 13, 2019 11:48 PM

That dog looking at the camera is like... yeah, you're not getting close to my buddy.

He's running, announcement in Iowa Thursday. I'm all for him getting in.

by Anonymousreply 15March 13, 2019 11:53 PM

You Beto Bros are having a hard time convincing the rest of us. He's too lanky to get me excited.

by Anonymousreply 16March 13, 2019 11:54 PM

Those long fingers.....mmmm

by Anonymousreply 17March 13, 2019 11:56 PM

If he is going to take his message to the national stage, we need to know what that message is.

by Anonymousreply 18March 13, 2019 11:59 PM

Why don't you go back and research his Senate run, R18? You'll get the idea of his message.

by Anonymousreply 19March 14, 2019 12:04 AM

Threads like this and the one linked are why I can't really take Beto seriously as a candidate. Half of the comments about him are directed to his looks and sex appeal. Sorry, that's not what I'm looking for in a President. I suppose Beto has a lock on the vapid vote though, for what it's worth.

by Anonymousreply 20March 14, 2019 12:05 AM

He's running. Wow. Finally.

by Anonymousreply 21March 14, 2019 12:07 AM

Why do you expect DL to educate you about a candidate, R20?

by Anonymousreply 22March 14, 2019 12:08 AM

Lantern jaw. Not attractive.

by Anonymousreply 23March 14, 2019 12:12 AM

He has Muppet Puppet face.

by Anonymousreply 24March 14, 2019 12:13 AM

[quote] photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair

Yeah, that will endear him to the middle class worker in Michigan.

by Anonymousreply 25March 14, 2019 12:15 AM

R25, it's not for them.

by Anonymousreply 26March 14, 2019 12:20 AM

easy. He is an arrogant fake poser. wouldn't touch "beto" with a ten foot pole.

by Anonymousreply 27March 14, 2019 12:20 AM

Of course no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public, but I just don't think that serious people are going to be interested in President Pretty-Boy. It will come back to haunt him.

by Anonymousreply 28March 14, 2019 12:21 AM

Why don't the SJWs give Robert shot for cultural appropriation?

by Anonymousreply 29March 14, 2019 12:23 AM

And what was Beto's border security policy?

by Anonymousreply 30March 14, 2019 12:24 AM

He needs to fuck me RIGHT NOW!

by Anonymousreply 31March 14, 2019 12:26 AM

He could be huge. Both meanings.

by Anonymousreply 32March 14, 2019 12:27 AM

He was born to do me.

by Anonymousreply 33March 14, 2019 12:28 AM

I like him but I've declared for Pete already, sorry.

by Anonymousreply 34March 14, 2019 12:30 AM

I like Pete but I also like Beto. And Kamala.

That said I'm voting for whomever is the Dem candidate. I like them all in different ways.

by Anonymousreply 35March 14, 2019 12:37 AM

He would be the first straight edge president.

by Anonymousreply 36March 14, 2019 12:40 AM

r27, what in blazes are you talking about? He's never said he was Latino, he's always been honest that he's Irish American. He grew up in El Paso, near the Mexican border, so his given name Robert was changed to Beto short for Roberto when he was a kid.

He's not faking anything.

by Anonymousreply 37March 14, 2019 12:42 AM

Where does he comment on his circumcision status, R8? Is this part of his strategy in the primaries of appealing to uncut men?

by Anonymousreply 38March 14, 2019 12:46 AM

R30: Probably the same as every member of the House whose district borders Mexico. No to the wall. Every one but one is a Democrat by the way. Democrats are the only party serious about border security. And I don't even support Beto.

I'm looking forward to Stacey Abrams's lovingly photographed Vanity Fair spread when she announces!

by Anonymousreply 42March 14, 2019 3:58 AM

This photoshopped picture by Annie Leibovitz gives me the creeps.

Just like that photoshopped picture by Annie Leibovitz of Bruce Jenner gave me the creeps.

by Anonymousreply 43March 14, 2019 4:10 AM

[quote]I would have advised him to not do anything right now that seems too Hollywood, like being interviewed by VF for instance.

Especially this incarnation of VF.

by Anonymousreply 44March 14, 2019 4:14 AM

What’s wrong with VF?

by Anonymousreply 45March 14, 2019 4:16 AM

Handsome picture.

by Anonymousreply 46March 14, 2019 4:19 AM

Honestly, I don't get all the going on about his looks. He looks like a unconvincing low-rent Kennedy family impersonator.

by Anonymousreply 47March 14, 2019 4:31 AM

He's more handsome than any Kennedy except JFK jr.

by Anonymousreply 48March 14, 2019 4:36 AM

Oh please, those are Annie Leibovitz photo shopped pictures of Beto. He's average looking with an ordinary long and pasty face and big teeth. His skin is meh and he has a meth heady quality about him. There is no comparison to JFK, RFk or JFK, jr. You need to get your eyes examined.

by Anonymousreply 49March 14, 2019 4:43 AM

He's the only guy with moles whose photos are not immediately reviled on DL.

by Anonymousreply 50March 14, 2019 4:46 AM

Leibovitz's pics are great.

by Anonymousreply 51March 14, 2019 4:51 AM

So looking forward to the process. That said, I kind of hope Bernie wins, because his group are the least likely to vote Dem if they don't get their way. And they throw chairs. 😂

by Anonymousreply 52March 14, 2019 4:56 AM

Ugh, this guy worships Ian Mackaye, Punk rocks version of Bono. Pompous and Phony as a three dollar bill. I'm glad I'm not voting anymore. Good luck America.

by Anonymousreply 53March 14, 2019 4:59 AM

I would be mortified to lose to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 54March 14, 2019 5:05 AM

r52, 88% of Bernie supporters voted for Queen Hillary during the general, but keep spreading propaganda.

by Anonymousreply 55March 14, 2019 5:09 AM

Really, R55? I thought they didn't show up. They definitely get violent, so I'm all for them getting their way this time.

by Anonymousreply 56March 14, 2019 5:13 AM

When is Beto gonna buy a new car? For fucks sake, he's rich, his family is very rich -- who does he think he's kidding out on a dirt road with a beat-up pickup? Please.

by Anonymousreply 57March 14, 2019 5:25 AM

Waiting for someone here to refer to him to an elder-straight. He’s of age for aging millennial scorn...yet silence so far. Hmmm...

by Anonymousreply 58March 14, 2019 5:31 AM

You queens and Bernie Bros are the shitstains of the electorate. If you’re even part of the actual electorate. For every criticism of Beto, you should have to make it substantial and tell us who your preferred candidate is and why they’re better than Beto on a specific issue.

And you can only do that once his platform has been fully revealed.

Of course you can’t do that, so your shit-talking now is as vapid as you’ve accused him and his fans of being.

Kamala Harris will not beat him. Biden is possible but unlikely. Bernie is possible but not likely. If it comes down to Beto v Trump, Beto wins based on height, ability to speak intelligently off script, and lack of corruption and criminal behavior.

Pete B is wonderful but he’s a super-long-shot.

In the meantime, can’t we all just enjoy Beto’s bare feet? No?

by Anonymousreply 59March 14, 2019 5:39 AM

Tiny IQ45 would have Beto in tears ten minutes into their first debate.

Biden/Abrams, for the win. "America, Back on Track."

by Anonymousreply 60March 14, 2019 6:39 AM

He’s very cute and seems down to earth on instagram.

by Anonymousreply 61March 14, 2019 6:51 AM

Yes R25, certainly nothing will appeal to unemployed factory workers in the Midwest as much as glamour shots by celebrity photographers. This is truly the way to show Middle America his gravitas, and depth of character.

by Anonymousreply 62March 14, 2019 10:46 AM

R51 Leibovitz's photoshops are great.

by Anonymousreply 63March 14, 2019 10:50 AM

Something is off with his teeth, doesn't do it for me

by Anonymousreply 64March 14, 2019 10:57 AM

Body odor alert!

by Anonymousreply 65March 14, 2019 11:17 AM

Can he beat Trump?

by Anonymousreply 66March 14, 2019 11:18 AM

He comes off like a flaky diva with anger issues.

by Anonymousreply 67March 14, 2019 11:20 AM

Pass. An uglier sissy Trudeau type. Ugh. Give me a real man.

by Anonymousreply 68March 14, 2019 11:22 AM

[quote]You Beto Bros are having a hard time convincing the rest of us. He's too lanky to get me excited.

He should lean into the Jimmy Stewart thing he’s got going.

Something slick about the cover photo reminds me of Clinton with the saxophone or Romney on the motorcycle.

Knock it off with that nonsense, it does the opposite of what your hoping it will do, guys.

by Anonymousreply 69March 14, 2019 11:42 AM

It's hilarious that people are flipping out about him sounding arrogant and competitive. I mean, have you seen who is in the White House? Why CAN'T we have a guy who has some experience, some good will and name recognition, and feels that this is his calling?

by Anonymousreply 70March 14, 2019 11:52 AM

Unemployed factory workers in the Midwest wouldn't vote for Beto if he signed a contract with each and every one of them to guarantee a living wage and decent healthcare.

Stop with the "oooh, Dems are too HOLLYWOOD and SLICK" whining, you diaperbabies. You're probably the same people who cry "oooh, his nickname is APPROPRIATION and no one is FOOLED by his attempt to look WORKING CLASS anyway" half the time.

He's fine. We have 18 months. Let it play out.

by Anonymousreply 73March 14, 2019 12:03 PM

Sadly, Biden's moment has passed. He's been rambling and bumbling lately. Too bad he didn't beat Trump; I love Hillary but there are too many womanhaters out there- they were out to get her.

It should have been Biden.

by Anonymousreply 74March 14, 2019 12:10 PM

Wrong political era for the "Vanity Fair" treatment. Half of American voters already think most media is unified in a conspiracy against them. This sort of thing isn't going to help him, it will probably hurt him in a general election in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 75March 14, 2019 12:14 PM

[quote] Unemployed factory workers in the Midwest wouldn't vote for Beto if he signed a contract with each and every one of them to guarantee a living wage

You are so out of touch it is laughable.

by Anonymousreply 76March 14, 2019 12:16 PM

R67, He needs to stop with the hand gestures and moving his arms so much when he speaks.

The finger pointing worked for JFK, but coming from Beto it looks forced.

by Anonymousreply 77March 14, 2019 12:18 PM

Conservative Democrat famous for losing a Senate race. HARD pass.

by Anonymousreply 78March 14, 2019 12:22 PM

R76 Some people don't get it. Just because they don't want to personally be friends with some Americans in this country, doesn't mean Beto doesn't need their votes. DLrs can write off 70% of America, culturally, when it comes to forming coastal hang-out cliques but you can't write off 70% of the country in a general election and expect to win.

The radicals who are adored by pockets of college campus "Fidel Casto Appreciation" Leagues won't just not run well in a handful of American communities, they'll outright fail in 30+ states. If Generation Z of Brooklyn wants to acquire some learning about culture that they don't already have, they should take a cross country road trip on college break.

by Anonymousreply 79March 14, 2019 12:24 PM

R72 now that's a candidate. Nice dog. I hear he is very popular with the ladies ;)

by Anonymousreply 80March 14, 2019 12:31 PM

Maybe John at r72, but even she couldn't save you from yourself.

Go away you POS.

by Anonymousreply 81March 14, 2019 12:33 PM

Is there a bulge pic?

by Anonymousreply 82March 14, 2019 12:34 PM

In the tradition of Kennedy, once again we have a politician who isn’t at all handsome yet because he has the right politics and isn’t as busted as most of his peeers we must pretend he’s a looker.

No thanks. The dude is an embarrassment, trying to be Hispanic and coming in with a skateboard like Bart Simpson straight out of 1992.

by Anonymousreply 83March 14, 2019 12:34 PM

r66 with the only question that matters.

by Anonymousreply 84March 14, 2019 12:34 PM

I had a Beto sign in my front yard, as I was desperate for him to beat the Lizard Alien. No dice. Now I would rather Beto to accept a VP role. But Trump showed us anything can happen. Maybe something good can happen this time. I'm like most people, I suspect: choose whoever is left standing vs. Trump.

I'm leaning towards Klobuchar now. There will be so much to learn in the coming months that I'm sure I'll change my mind multiple times, except for ANYBODY BUT TRUMP. We need the Senate.

by Anonymousreply 85March 14, 2019 12:40 PM

Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade on the Vanity Fair article: "They also point out that (Beto) has this huge library. As if it’s a big plus that he reads books.

by Anonymousreply 86March 14, 2019 12:41 PM

Beto would make a great life model at any art school. He would probably be a fine relationship manager in a corporate bank. He could be the top seller in any real estate company. If he opened a hair salon and did hair while wearing a tight t-shirt and jeans, women and men would be lined up down the block.

Other than being young, white, male, filthy rich and photogenic, I'm not seeing Beto's resume as particularly presidential. Any Democrat over any Rethuglican, absolutely. But the Democratic Party is big and, at least at this juncture, there seem to be better candidates for the Democrats to back.

I'm not suggesting that Beto is unable to be president, or even unsuited to it. But he's getting ahead of himself. He's inexperienced and, therefore, not yet qualified.

by Anonymousreply 87March 14, 2019 12:44 PM

Ok r87, is Pete Buttigieg equally unqualified?

by Anonymousreply 88March 14, 2019 12:47 PM

God spare us: another Trudeau. And the same queens who fingered themselves here into a frenzy over that hollow piece of shit are doing it all again. Some losers never learn. Not that, of course, their policies matter. Heaven forbid!

by Anonymousreply 89March 14, 2019 12:52 PM

R88, Buttigieg's educational resume is far richer than Beto's. But Beto has served three terms in the House of Representatives.

Some significant experience in the federal government is necessary to be successful in the White House. If Obama had been more seasoned in D.C. when he became President, he might not have pissed away valuable time and opprotunity in his naive pursuit of grand bargains and compromise. He was totally stonewalled by the GOP and didn't seem to even see it happen. I don't want to go through that again. Ever.

So to answer your question more specifically, I think Buttigieg is even less qualified than Beto, vis a vis 2020 Democratic Presidential candidacy.

by Anonymousreply 90March 14, 2019 12:58 PM

Beto is currently greeting potential voters in a coffee house in Keokuk, Iowa.

He couldn't be more IN,

by Anonymousreply 91March 14, 2019 1:12 PM

Beto is taking questions from potential voters in coffee house in Iowa.

CNN and MSNBC (don't know and don't care about FOX) are both covering it, but host on MSNBC is talking over it.

by Anonymousreply 94March 14, 2019 1:32 PM

by Anonymousreply 96March 14, 2019 1:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 97March 14, 2019 2:03 PM

by Anonymousreply 109March 14, 2019 10:33 PM

If he was really into punk rock, I guarantee they'll find some offensive photos of him somewhere. Either that, they'll dig up some songs/bands he was into and try to discredit him with a 30 second blurb with the lyrics printed out for all to see(i.e. Kill the poor).

by Anonymousreply 110March 14, 2019 10:58 PM

I roll my sleeves up ALL THE TIME.

by Anonymousreply 113March 15, 2019 12:05 AM

The rolled-up sleeves is an old politician cliche. It is meant to communicate "I am professional but am willing to ROLL UP MY SLEEVES to be down to earth and talk to regular Americans." It as transparent an image ploy as one could dream up, but this is Beto, after all.

by Anonymousreply 114March 15, 2019 12:15 AM

Kamala Harris will eat him alive in debate.

by Anonymousreply 115March 15, 2019 12:25 AM

Which debate? What debate?

by Anonymousreply 116March 15, 2019 12:35 AM

Kamala Harris didn't even have a Republican opponent in California. She is so ripe to be ripped apart by the GOP.

by Anonymousreply 117March 15, 2019 12:47 AM

Beto/Buttigieg?

by Anonymousreply 118March 15, 2019 1:06 AM

Chris Matthews and his panel was practically swooning over Beto tonight. Like one of the panelists said, "You can teach a candidate on policy, but you can't teach charisma, and this guy has charisma."

He also said that every Democrat who's broken through in recent times has been aspirational in tone, like Bill Clinton and Obama. That's what Democrats ultimately respond to. They don't respond to attacks and negativity in the way that Republicans do.

by Anonymousreply 119March 15, 2019 1:53 AM

I think Vanity Fair was a mistake and Oprah was a mistake. I also think he knows he isn't experienced enough to make president...this time.

Beto is running for the VP slot. Capture youth, capture disillusioned miillenials, capture the heart throb vote... he's seeking 2024 (via Biden) or 2028.

by Anonymousreply 120March 15, 2019 2:01 AM

You've got to be kidding, OP.

He's a fucking lightweight with experience in NOTHING.

by Anonymousreply 121March 15, 2019 2:03 AM

Time to revisit some predictions from the first Beto 2020 Beto 2020 Beto 2020 thread.

[quote]There is no Beto campaign. I hope he announces his challenge of Cornyn next week.

[quote]R364 Beto is a potential Veep right now, more than a Prexy. I see him as a Veep with Harris, Klobuchar, Warren, Booker - the serious contenders. It's dicier with old man Biden, though - if he really manages to steal the primary, he's going to need someone other than a white man (even a young, hot one) for his Veep pick.

“The serious contenders” ^^^^ hahaha.

[quote]He won't run. His heart isn't in it. He hasn't responded well to even basic interviews since his senate run. Some people are better eye candy than presidential canddiates

by Anonymousreply 122March 15, 2019 2:02 AM

by Anonymousreply 129March 15, 2019 2:39 AM

The Beto hate on DL is very interesting. Some of you must really be worried about his candidacy, or the candidacy of your preferred politician, to be exact.

You are constantly misframing his loss, obviously intentionally. Cruz won the race 50.9 to 48.3 percent, the closet U.S. Senate race in Texas since 1978. For comparison, Sanders's lost in the primaries by 12 percent.

You can bend the narrative all you want, the facts are not on your side. And I'm not even a Beto fan, I just see it as it is.

by Anonymousreply 132March 15, 2019 2:53 AM

R130 the trolls are Trump trolls and crazed frauen frightened a guy'll get the nomination.

Nothing to see here.

by Anonymousreply 133March 15, 2019 2:59 AM

SHOW us your big dick, r123. And your face.

by Anonymousreply 134March 15, 2019 3:25 AM

You can meet me in NYC where I live, R134. I’m not afraid of you.

by Anonymousreply 135March 15, 2019 3:52 AM

If you’re a decent, honest American (or a decent, honest human living anywhere in the world) there is no denying the inspiring, progressive message in this video. None of the other candidates have this. Anyone who disagrees is just in denial. Or they’re a Republican. Or a Russian troll. Or a Bernie cultist.

by Anonymousreply 137March 15, 2019 5:10 AM

R136 The opinion of the O'Rourke campaign office is duly noted. You can shut the lights off now. Don't pay attention to the laughter you hear from your computer.

by Anonymousreply 138March 15, 2019 5:13 AM

R123 I'm not sure Beto would want his staffers saying their assholes are unwashed on social media, but Ok. I'll pass. And yes, on that too.

by Anonymousreply 139March 15, 2019 5:15 AM

Beto will wilt under the pressure when the time comes to confront Trump. He couldn't even adequately that weasel Cruz. He has no ability to go for the jugular. We need a fighter, not a wimp.

by Anonymousreply 140March 15, 2019 5:16 AM

LOL at R138.

by Anonymousreply 141March 15, 2019 5:15 AM

R138, you said absolutely nothing of any substance. I guess that’s laughable?

No, R137, I don’t think anyone thinks he’s ever cheated on Amy. Do you?

by Anonymousreply 145March 15, 2019 5:20 AM

Beto is actually the only candidate who has been thoroughly vetted by the worst of the GOP. Which is probably why the GOP's going nuts attacking him. The cupboard is bare. Here's Ted Cruz's campaign manager. He's the one who dug up the Melania lesbian nudies.

by Anonymousreply 147March 15, 2019 5:23 AM

I can't believe how are falling over themselves for him. Beto couldn't even win the debates with Cruz, which is not hard to do when you're dealing with a scumbag and liar. How can we expect him to debate Trump? Beto is full of platitudes, but lacks any substance.

Oh, I'm Mr. Nice Guy, and i promise to work with Republicans. That's not going to work.

by Anonymousreply 148March 15, 2019 5:26 AM

Beto was fine in the debates and Cruz is a professional debater. Austan Goolsbee who hates Cruz's guts, was on the Princeton Debate team with Cruz. He said Cruz wins debates on technicalities - he lies continually which forces his opponent to waste time correcting the lies instead of pursuing their own argument.

Trump is 1/100th as intelligent as Cruz though every bit as big a liar.

by Anonymousreply 149March 15, 2019 5:31 AM

R149 If you're a decent debater, nobody forces you to do anything. Beto just has no real ethos, and by the way he's advocating take down all border fences and walls in a border state. Sounds like magic to me. What could stop him?

by Anonymousreply 150March 15, 2019 5:37 AM

Yes, R148, it is going to work. And Beto will pull out the big guns if/when necessary. No idea why you’re assuming Trump will be running again in 2020, though.

People are indeed tired of the hatefulness and dividedness of this country. This WILL BE a “change” Election, and Beto is going to be the change people are looking for.

Don’t believe me? Just watch.

by Anonymousreply 151March 15, 2019 5:40 AM

R151 Ok, I'm trying to thread the needle between "pulling out the big guns" and fighting hatefulness/ divisiveness in the US. How does that look IRL? Sounds like Beto is going scorched-earth, if you have the inside knowledge you allege. Doesn't sound like toning down division to me.

by Anonymousreply 152March 15, 2019 5:43 AM

EXPERIENCE?

a) Trump won the presidency with zero government experience. And even zero legit corporate experience! He always worked in a family business, hidden from shareholders and obscured from the government!

b) Beto served three terms in the U.S. House — TWO MORE THAN ABRAHAM LINCOLN, who was later elected president. (Beto also served as an El Paso city councilman; very relevant and valuable experience, as it's a U.S.-Mexico border town that also happens to be one of the safest cities in the U.S.)

Pelosi weighed in on the experience question perfectly.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 153March 15, 2019 6:11 AM

Let's face it, Pelosi has very little idea of what's going on at any moment. Beto's experience is not so much the issue --t his accomplishments and ideas are. He's very vapid. And what he doe say, for instance eliminating all borders, is ridiculous. Which means he is too.

by Anonymousreply 154March 15, 2019 6:29 AM

He looks hot as fuck. Nice pecs in that shirt.

by Anonymousreply 155March 15, 2019 7:15 AM

The guy pulls off that lean, tucked in shirt / denim look that few 46 year olds can. He’s hot even with a butter face (in certain angles). I want him in me quite deeply.

by Anonymousreply 156March 15, 2019 11:06 AM

Nobody who wants to be taken seriously or thinks critically post feels the need to include the words 'and anybody who doesn't think so is...' It applies to everyone but especially to someKamalastans and newly emerged Betostans. Election season is so depressing around here for what it reveals about us.

He’s the male AOC (who, herself is the Left’s Sarah Palin).

He looks like a Kennedy (most like Bobby, IMO), and I think people respond to that.

by Anonymousreply 162March 15, 2019 12:38 PM

Another white male. We've had that over and over. Enough.

by Anonymousreply 163March 15, 2019 12:44 PM

Beto needs to start screaming at staffers, throw binders at them, and make them work 100 hours a week in order to get any respect around here.

by Anonymousreply 164March 15, 2019 12:54 PM

The many photos of him sweating through his shirt are a good start. Are there any photos where he shows his pits? That's what I'm really interested in.

by Anonymousreply 165March 15, 2019 1:05 PM

Thanks, VF, I know you've done suspicions about women's political depth a great service not to mention acknowledging that while the aura of power enhances male attractiveness it makes people like Hillary Clinton unappealing, and giving a nod to future Monica Lewinskys everywhere.

Sometimes humour doesn't cover the stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 166March 15, 2019 1:11 PM

AOC is a tad but more substance than Sarah Palin...jeesh

by Anonymousreply 167March 15, 2019 1:27 PM

Beto is addicted to the high of campaigning. And he bores me.

by Anonymousreply 168March 15, 2019 1:29 PM

Dear r129, once upon a time there was a band called "The Dead Kennedys". They were a punk band popular during the 80's and had a song called "Kill the poor". It was satirical in nature and quite catchy with "the punks". What I was getting at in my post is that I can imagine someone pulling up a blurb/photo where Beto is wearing a DK (that's Dead Kennedys) t shirt and them pulling up lyrics to the song and taking it out of context. Idiots would eat it up due to their extremely short attention span and complete lack of individual thought and nuance, much like you. You may want to do a little research before you post an ignorant comment such as yours. And it's just called punk, not "punk culture". Now, go eat a filthy truckers musky, unwashed hole.

I will say the same to anyone who complains about Sanders, and his hand waving and finger pointing.

Sanders actually hits women poking at them. He did it on the campaign trail repeatedly and smacked a woman on Bill Maher.

by Anonymousreply 192March 15, 2019 9:33 PM

Beto's detractors are freaking the fuck out over him running. They are scared shitless because they know he's a STAR with widespread appeal. They are throwing everything at the wall in hopes that something sticks. It won't work. You can't stop talent. It always rises to the top.

by Anonymousreply 193March 15, 2019 9:39 PM

by Anonymousreply 194March 15, 2019 9:45 PM

I'd take Pete over Beto anyday

by Anonymousreply 195March 15, 2019 9:50 PM

Beto was a great choice to run against Ted Cruz. He is the opposite of Cruz in every respect. It was easy to cheer him on in that confined space.

But early in this Presidential campaign season, when Beto is not so strictly evaluated against a festering pustule like Ted Cruz, he looks a good deal more lightweight.

by Anonymousreply 196March 15, 2019 9:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 197March 15, 2019 9:54 PM

tRump will make short work of him. If I'm going with a dark horse, it'll be Buttigieg. Beto is too "deer in the headlights."

I don't really give a damn who wins the Democratic nomination. I expect whoever wins will stomp the shit out of the presumptive Rep nominee. More important to me, I want a Democratic House and Senate. And then more Supreme Court justices. I think we'll get the presidency in 2020, and if that goes well, perhaps a Senate/House majority in 2022. Supreme Court justices? A plurality of justices who aren't pro-corporate sometime in my lifetime would be nice. But I'd be a fool to believe any of this is inevitable.

Beto wouldn't tell Annie if he was running or not so she said to him "look, wear the blue shirt to the cover shoot if you're running, the white shirt if you aren't." There was an article about Annie photographing him in El Paso. Annie grew up in El Paso - her dad was stationed there. And she sounded like she developed a crush on him.He made her breakfast - pancakes from scratch. If he can seduce 70 year old left-wing lesbians, he's in folks.

R209: You do understand the House and a third of the Senate will be voted on at the same time you vote for President in 2020, don't you? We already have a House majority, we need a Senate one and we can get it in 2020. The point will be to not lose either in 2022. And yes we need more Democratic Senators, which is why this guy needs to challenge John Cornyn and stay out of this Presidential race.
