Sarah McLachlan

It seems like Lilith Fair turned out to be a huge pain in the ass, and she took the money and ran away gently into that good night.

It's hard to picture her as a cigar-chomping, cutthroat concert tour promoter wheeling and dealing in the big leagues.

I Will Remember You still holds up today

I liked a lot of Sarah’s stuff in the 90s. Can’t stand those depressing dirges I Will Remember You or Angel, though they seem to be her best known songs today.

Runaway? Our Sarah was carried off in the arms of angel. And she done fly away from here.

I never thought I’d day this but Paula freaking Cole’s music has aged better.

Say not day*

ASPCA's use of her song "Angel" in their commercials brought in thirty million dollars to the charity.

What did Sarah do?

by Anonymousreply 12March 15, 2019 3:44 AM

I was never a fan but I saw her at Lillith Fair in Vancouver circa 1999 or so. She was a boring performer, really, and her voice broke several times, but a lot of piano-bound solo acts are kinda boring by nature.

by Anonymousreply 13March 15, 2019 3:48 AM

Lesbian right?

by Anonymousreply 14March 15, 2019 3:53 AM

Love her.

by Anonymousreply 15March 15, 2019 4:43 AM

I love her voice.

She's hosting the Juno Awards.

Her album Surfacing was huge. You literally couldn't turn on a radio from 1997 to 2000 without hearing a song from it.

I think it sold so many copies she didn't need to work hard after that.

Once Britney and co. became the next big things, the Lilith Fair gals couldn't get arrested. They were all over immediately as far as getting radio play and videos on MTV. Too bad, because their music was so much better than the shit that followed.

by Anonymousreply 18March 17, 2019 5:11 AM

She is a PSA (below) for the Juno’s. She still is a ethereal beauty.

R10’sorry but when her dull music comes on it’s automatic skip, at least Paual has her dawson’s creek song that will live on.

Loved the live version of "Drawn to the Rhythm" from the 1992 Live EP
