Gay Man Missing In Quebec!
Ian Lambert was last seen leaving a house party in the western part of the Plateau district at about 9 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Family and friends have started a Facebook group and are encouraging everyone to widely share the photos and posts.
They say Lambert walked across the Champlain Bridge to Ottawa the night he disappeared and was last seen in the area of Wellington West and Hintonburg a day later.
The posters describe Lambert as six feet two inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes.
According to police he was last seen wearing a tuque and a multi-coloured scarf draped over a brown dress coat. He was also carrying a backpack.
Gatineau police are asking anyone with information related to Lambert's disappearance to contact them at (819) 246-0222.

Any Quebecer Dataloungers know him or have theories?
|by Anonymous||reply 1||03/09/2019|
He's gorgeous! I would love to find him.

and he was single

What’s the Plateau district like? Where does that bridge go? Why would anyone walk in sub-zero temp?
Could he have been despondent, and jumped?
|by Anonymous||reply 4||03/09/2019|
tuque is a Canadian term for a hat seen below

This actually makes no sense. Was he last seen the night he disappeared, or was he last seen a day later?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||03/09/2019|
R7 the reddit page makes it a little clearer. He left the party and didn’t go home that night, but some people think they saw him in another area the next day. No way to confirm if it was him though.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||03/09/2019|
Was a smiley face painted nearby?
|by Anonymous||reply 9||03/09/2019|
Are patriotic Toques acceptable?
But patriotic M.A.G.A. hats despicable?
|by Anonymous||reply 10||03/09/2019|
[quote]What's a tuque?
Let puffy Will Arnett teach you Canadian slang.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||03/09/2019|
[quote]Why would anyone walk in sub-zero temp?
Because, unlike bears, we can't hibernate through the winter.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||03/09/2019|
Most likely he was drunk when he left the party and fell off the bridge.
Possibly he was mugged on the bridge and fell (or was pushed) during the scuffle. But at 6'2" I doubt anyone tried to mess with him unless he was out numbered or they had a gun.
But Datalounge will insist it was a gay rape gone wrong, long after the simplest explanation is proven twice over.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||03/09/2019|
Looks a bit like The Cockgobbler, no?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||03/09/2019|
If he crossed the Champlain Bridge into Ottawa then he's missing in Ontario, but missing from Quebec? Or that he's a Quebec gay man who went missing? Maybe he passed out and froze to death. I'm not kidding, Ottawa can be colder than Mars on some winter days.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||03/09/2019|
Champlain Bridge in the summer, links residential areas of Gatineau and Ottawa. The Plateau district in Gatineau is mostly recent-ish suburbia, while Hintonburg is a much older but gentrifying/hipster area of Ottawa.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||03/09/2019|
Calling it now. He choked on smegma .
|by Anonymous||reply 17||03/09/2019|
Handsome. I'm sure the Canuck detectives are doing their best. If he went missing here in the U.S., they wouldn't give a flaming fuck unless he came from old Yankee blue-blood wealth. Just like they don't give a shite when a black or Mexican person disappears. God bless him.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||03/09/2019|
Good looking guy. I hope he turns up ok.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||03/09/2019|
Maybe he met a rich Prince Charming who flew (or carried?) him to Paris.
It could happen.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||03/09/2019|
I know that area! There is a gay cruising area called Bate Island directly under the bridge. Kinda cold for that though.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||03/10/2019|
R9 Is the smiley face killer that is rumored to stalking and killing solitary homos around that area?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||03/10/2019|
You people only care because he was good looking, if he were ugly you wouldn't be here
|by Anonymous||reply 23||03/10/2019|
Quebec is notoriously homophobic.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||03/10/2019|
R18, do Canadian cops care about the gays? For some reason, some serial killer of gays in Toronto comes to mind
|by Anonymous||reply 25||03/10/2019|
There is v little violent crime in Ottawa.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||03/10/2019|
Exactly, R26. It's too cold for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||03/10/2019|
Temp that Saturday night was -17C or about 2F.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||03/10/2019|
[quote]He's gorgeous! I would love to find him.
Boy, I can only imagine you as a detective investigating a murder: "Let me see the victim's face... Ew, ugly. Don't waste my time."
|by Anonymous||reply 29||03/10/2019|
Tinymeat! Don't waste my time!
|by Anonymous||reply 30||03/10/2019|
No one knew him personally? Maybe Francophones are discussing his case somewhere I can't access because I don't speak French.
Pity that breeders and their crimes have a million pages dedicated to them, but a gay man's fate is of no interest.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||03/10/2019|
[quote]No one knew him personally?
Clearly a DLer
|by Anonymous||reply 32||03/10/2019|
He's probably on a bender with our dear friend, Tina.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||03/10/2019|
Champlain Bridge doesn’t look like a pedestrian bridge r16. It looks like autos only. But maybe he walked over a different part of the bridge.
Also, 9 pm is kind of early to leave a party. Did he leave ... alone ??
|by Anonymous||reply 34||03/10/2019|
R31 there have been at least 3 posts on Reddit, usually the same description/info followed by thoughts and prayers. The Facebook page has a bit more info (like his phone was apparently last “pinged” on the bridge). Hopefully the 3 police departments (Gatineau, Ottawa, and the RCMP since that bridge is federal/NCC property) involved manage to coordinate their efforts and tips/clues.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||03/10/2019|
R34 actualy there is a concrete sidewalk but on one side only, and cycling lanes in both directions. Pedestrian paths at either end are probably challenging in winter, as the bridge ends in a scenic parkway context.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||03/10/2019|
It's not me, bitches, I'm behind bars.

This made me laugh so hard.
I can imagine questioning the family.

Intoxicated man + icy bridge = falling into river. The body will appear in the spring thaw.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||03/10/2019|
[quote]What's a tuque?
This. The picture above with Canada written on it is something a recently landed immigrant would wear before they open their "AL'S 100% CANADIAN FAMILY FRIED CHICKEN AND KEBABERIE WITH PICTURE OF MAPLE LEAF" restaurant.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||03/10/2019|
And most people spell it this way: "Toque".
|by Anonymous||reply 42||03/10/2019|
Tuque would be the French spelling actually...
|by Anonymous||reply 43||03/10/2019|
Yeah and most Canadians speak English. So most people spell it this way: "Toque".
|by Anonymous||reply 44||03/10/2019|
It's a wool cap. Call it a wool cap.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||03/10/2019|
Just explaining it’s not a random typo, based on where he lived.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||03/10/2019|
I like "tuque" more than "beanie," which is what people call that kind of hat in America. A beanie to me is a yarmulke with a brim, not a woolen pull-on.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||03/10/2019|
I just read a detective novel that took place in Montreal in January. The author must have used the word "tuque" hundreds of times.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||03/10/2019|
He really does look cockgobbleresque.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||03/10/2019|
New video with some pictures
|by Anonymous||reply 51||03/11/2019|
I hate these stories about missing gay men were we have to find out they committed suicide or were offed by trade. The story about the CDC officer in Atlanta last year was so sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||03/14/2019|
Missing person report still up on Gatineau PD, sadly.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||03/15/2019|
I thought “tuque” was a typo and the author meant to write “toque”. Well, ya learn something new every day.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||03/15/2019|
I've known him for years,although not terribly well. Senior government type, but personally kind of a mess. If he was seen in HIntonburg the next day, he might have spent the night at Ottawa's one remaining bathhouse. From there, I don't know.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||03/30/2019|
R41 LOL at that restaurant name.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||03/30/2019|
Some young tuffs picked him up and tossed him over the bridge for kicks.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||03/30/2019|
I wouldn't walk across a long bridge like that in February. Seems odd.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||03/30/2019|
R60 that’s exactly what happened about 30 years ago, just a few miles from there, prompted the creation of the country’s first hate crimes unit.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||03/31/2019|
R63 he has lovely brown eyes
|by Anonymous||reply 65||04/12/2019|
And who killed the billionaire couple in Ontario?
|by Anonymous||reply 66||04/12/2019|
Still missing as of this FB post March 31, and the missing persons notice is still up on the Gatineau Police dept.’s website.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||04/12/2019|
Sad ending on this one.
[quote]According to Gatineau police, an area resident reported finding a body near a bike path in the Aylmer area around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. When police arrived, they found the body and erected a security perimeter in order to forensic specialists to begin an investigation.
[quote]Police say no further details about Lambert’s death will be disclosed out of respect for his family.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||04/18/2019|
[quote]Although we don’t have many details, foul play is not suspected...
Pictures of the bike path and surrounding woods make it look like a possible cruising area.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||04/18/2019|
His friends say "foul play is not suspected”.
But what other play could have caused this handsome man's death?
|by Anonymous||reply 71||04/18/2019|
Sad ending, but it looks like he died doing what he loved...cruising.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||04/19/2019|
But what exactly did he die of?
|by Anonymous||reply 75||04/19/2019|
