Same goes for circumcision. Back then (Biblical / Torah / Quran times) people didn't bathe every day. Many didn't even bathe every week. They lived in the Middle East area - a ridiculously HOT climate, with lots of pests, diseases, poverty and NO indoor plumbing. Many worked in the fields and had sweat, dirt and even wind-swept desert sand accumulating in their genital area. They wouldn't always be able to wash it off, especially if the water source was far from their house. So their only desperate solution and "sanitation" practice was to cut off foreskin.

The practice was also somewhat widespread in Africa (an unbearably hot climate like the Middle East).

Now compare that to Europeans and Asians. No widespread history of circumcision. Because the climate is milder and even cold in the northern parts. While the Eurasians obviously sweated too - there was less need to cut off skin folds in a temperate climate. It was mostly a practice developed by populations in unbearably hot climate zones: Middle Easterners and Africans.
