Which male singer has or had the highest ratio between beauty and singing talent?
We did this thread on female singers a while ago and Whitney Houston was the clear winner of that one. I wonder if we are going to reach a consensus on this one too, since the criteria for what constitutes a beautiful male voice are a bit broader than they are for female voices.
I think it was Elvis. He was purty as hell and had an amazing vocal range to go with his good looks.

While there is no denying Ricky Martin's beauty (seemingly eternal!), even I as a major fan recognize that his vocal range is somewhat limited. Thus, OP's ratio is widened.

A "ratio" is "A" divided by "B." In this case, "A" is beauty, while "B" is singing talent.
So the highest "ratio" would result from great beauty and terrible singing talent.
Just curious: if you applied that standard, your choice would be....
Mine: Zac Efron (yes, he sings).

When it comes to men, they're judged by their musical talent--mostly in songwriting--, not necessarily their vocals and looks like women are. A great musical talent would be Bob Dylan but he has a weak voice and no great looker.
Freddie Mercury is the only one who combines three - great vocals, great musical talent and looks. If Freddie wasn't gay and didn't have those teeth, he'd be another Elvis. George Michael is right behind him.

I assume the minimal mentions of Ricky Nelson have to do with his lack of musical talent (I don't know much about music and the only songs I know by him are 'Mary Lou' and 'Garden Party') because with regards to his looks, he was probably one of the most beautiful men who ever lived.

Here is Rolling Stone's Top 10 list of best lead singers of all time. (from a band and not looks not considered) Robert Plant is no. 1, he was only mentioned once here but he was a looker back then.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Mick Jagger. In his prime, he was so hot, he even made straight men desire him.
1. Robert Plant 2. Freddie Mercury 3. Bono 4. Mick Jagger 5. Jim Morrison 6. Roger Daltrey 7. Eddie Vedder 8. John Lennon 9. Chris Cornell 10. Kurt Cobain
Out of the 10, Jim Morrison was the most physically beautiful, Freddie the most vocally talented.

Josh Turner has a beautiful deep voice and face to match, but I find his looks and his music a mite bland. The best country artists tend to be your rawboned hillbillies like Hank and redneck boys like Merle and Johnny who live the hard life they sing about and it rarely comes in a pretty package. They might look hot for a couple years when they're young but tend to hit the wall hard and early, either swell up like a tick or get that stringy vulpine look.

I havenāt read all 300 posts but has anyone pointed out what a highest ratio means? It means the largest difference between talent and looks, not the highest amounts of looks and talent.
Maybe OP shouldnāt have used the word āhighestā but ābest.ā A best ratio is one where looks and talent are both the same at an excellent level, yielding the lowest ratio possible, i.e. 1. Elvis is a 10 in looks and a 10 in talent. His ratio would be 10/10, or 1. Tiny Tim is a 1 in looks and a 1 in talent, and his ratio would ALSO be1.
So the word highest is inappropriate, yet the word best implies a 1 thatās a result of two top scores as opposed to one thatās a result of two low scores, or, obviously a 10 thatās a result of one very high score and one very low score.
Also do not confuse incidence with ratio.
