Which male singer has or had the highest ratio between beauty and singing talent?
We did this thread on female singers a while ago and Whitney Houston was the clear winner of that one. I wonder if we are going to reach a consensus on this one too, since the criteria for what constitutes a beautiful male voice are a bit broader than they are for female voices.
I think it was Elvis. He was purty as hell and had an amazing vocal range to go with his good looks.
|by Anonymous||reply 386||04/17/2019|
Chris Isaak. Seems to be a pattern here.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||02/28/2019|
Mike Pender of The Searchers.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||02/28/2019|
Bono was a thing of beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||02/28/2019|
The lead singer of A-ha 😆
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/28/2019|
Highest ratio between beauty and singing talent?
I like men. I'll take Jack jones.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/28/2019|
Kurt Cobain. Maybe not his voice but songwriting and everything else.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/28/2019|
R16, Fun fact: Jack Jones' godmother is/was Joan Crawford.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/28/2019|
I can't believe you mouth breathers are mentioning Bono and Sufjan Stevens in the same breath as Elvis in regards to male beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/28/2019|
Freddie Mercury sans teeth
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/28/2019|
Don't laugh, but I always thought Buddy Holly was adorkably handsome. And I love his voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/28/2019|
[quote]Young Glen Campbell.
Oh yes Glen Campbell too!
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/28/2019|
How has no one mentioned George? Great voice and was beautiful in his prime.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||02/28/2019|
The tres adorbz Freddie Mercury! Because he looked so much like RAMI, SQUEEEEEEEE!
|by Anonymous||reply 42||02/28/2019|
Marvin Gaye got more handsome the older he got.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||02/28/2019|
I don’t think we’ll have a Whitney type near consensus on this thread. But if people are honest, it’s gonna have to be Chris Isaak.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||02/28/2019|
Beauty and singing talent? Franco Corelli, of course. No one else comes close.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||02/28/2019|
When I saw his Grammy performance, I thought he was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||02/28/2019|
The great German tenor Jonas Kauffmann
|by Anonymous||reply 54||02/28/2019|
I'm shocked that no one mentioned Shawn Mendes yet - for DL fans anyway! If you did, I apologize for missing it. I don't agree (he is nothing special outside of pretty), but he is a DL icon after all.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||02/28/2019|
Iconic Elvis is the Whitney here followed by mere mortal George...plus George had the something..... no one else comes close to these 2 beloved talented lookers...
|by Anonymous||reply 58||02/28/2019|
This one actually has me sort of stumped. Most of my initial thoughts have already been listed, so I'll go with Bowie.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||02/28/2019|
Another vote for Johnny Mathis.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||02/28/2019|
Paul, the pretty and most talented Beatle.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||02/28/2019|
Some of the singers listed are pretty but their voices are nothing special. Jon Bon Jovi, Eddie Vedder and Shawn Mendes are nowhere near the same league as Elvis, Marvin Gaye and Jeff Buckley.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||03/01/2019|
While there is no denying Ricky Martin's beauty (seemingly eternal!), even I as a major fan recognize that his vocal range is somewhat limited. Thus, OP's ratio is widened.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||03/01/2019|
It was Luis Miguel, but he has aged hard. Paul McCartney, probably, though his pipes are old and cracky now, he is still cute for an old geezer.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||03/01/2019|
R65 you are confusing your personal taste with talent. Both Bon Jovi and Eddie Vedder have prodigy voices (4 octaves) and they write their own songs. I don't know anything about Shawn Mendez outside DL
|by Anonymous||reply 69||03/01/2019|
A "ratio" is "A" divided by "B." In this case, "A" is beauty, while "B" is singing talent.
So the highest "ratio" would result from great beauty and terrible singing talent.
Just curious: if you applied that standard, your choice would be....
Mine: Zac Efron (yes, he sings).
|by Anonymous||reply 71||03/01/2019|
R69 Actually I love Bon Jovi and Pearl Jam (couldn’t give two fucks about Shawn Mendes). I was just saying that those guys rarely if ever come up in discussions about the greatest and most iconic male voices.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||03/01/2019|
Most opera singers can't even sing 4 octaves, if you believe Bon Jovi can then I have a bridge to sell you
Efron and Mendes are okay at best
|by Anonymous||reply 73||03/01/2019|
R19, Songwriting? Hahahahahaha.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||03/01/2019|
George Micheal hands down.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||03/01/2019|
Sam Cooke and Teddy Pendergrass
|by Anonymous||reply 77||03/01/2019|
Elvis -no contest. Then Freddie and Ricky.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||03/01/2019|
Ooooh, he is lovely, R75.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||03/01/2019|
George Michael was one of the most musical, if not the most musical pop artist working in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. His talent was insane.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||03/01/2019|
Nick Kamen - "Each Time You Break My Heart" --dreamy!
|by Anonymous||reply 82||03/01/2019|
Number 69 up thread does not know what an octave is.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||03/01/2019|
R85, In her autobiography, his wife Sheila graphically described how athletic and creative Gordon was in bed.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||03/01/2019|
When it comes to men, they're judged by their musical talent--mostly in songwriting--, not necessarily their vocals and looks like women are. A great musical talent would be Bob Dylan but he has a weak voice and no great looker.
Freddie Mercury is the only one who combines three - great vocals, great musical talent and looks. If Freddie wasn't gay and didn't have those teeth, he'd be another Elvis. George Michael is right behind him.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||03/02/2019|
Tom Bailey from the Thompson Twins
|by Anonymous||reply 95||03/02/2019|
I've always found Weezer's Rivers Cuomo to be adorable. Cute, good voice, and he's written nearly all the band's songs.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||03/02/2019|
Piero Barone of the Italian trio 'Il Volo'
|by Anonymous||reply 97||03/02/2019|
Elvis and when George Michael was in his prime he was a 10 for looks and he had that voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||03/02/2019|
R97, If you're going to mention Il Volo, the handsome one is baritone GianLuca Ginoble!
|by Anonymous||reply 99||03/02/2019|
I don't want to play semantic games but the ratio between beauty and singing talent goes up as the beauty factor goes up OR the singing talent goes down. So the highest ratio should go to the best looking singer with the worst voice. I mean mathematically.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||03/02/2019|
Jim Morrison, hands down.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||03/02/2019|
Morrison didn't have a fantastic voice
|by Anonymous||reply 102||03/02/2019|
Prince and a THIN Luther Vandross.
Not merely good or pleasant voices. Both had VIRTUOSIC voices both in terms of technique, expression and tone color. Prince, to me, has the better voice, but a thin Luther edged him out in beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||03/02/2019|
Prince was just strikingly beautiful. And his voice was a miracle.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||03/02/2019|
Ew, Prince looked like a drag queen
|by Anonymous||reply 105||03/02/2019|
R99 Ignazio Boschetto of Il Volo has grown quite handsome as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||03/02/2019|
First runner up: George Michael
Honorable mention: Freddie Mercury
|by Anonymous||reply 108||03/02/2019|
To all of you who keep pointing out the misuse of highest ration, thanks but we don't need any more pedantry--we know what OP meant.
Italian singer Eroz Ramazzotti. He was cute when young, and has aged into a hot daddy.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||03/02/2019|
Marvin is tied with Elvis, or at least George. The man was beautiful, and walking sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||03/02/2019|
A great singer without a great "voice" and ungf a fucking hottie: Bruce.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||03/02/2019|
I only thought of him because Google is honoring him, but Desi belongs here. Woof, no wonder Lucy was so smitten.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||03/02/2019|
This guy--Dimitri Hvorostovsky--great Russian operatic baritone who died of cancer 2 years ago at age 55. I love white hair on young men. Great voice too.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||03/02/2019|
I don't even think George Michael was the best looking member of Wham!
|by Anonymous||reply 119||03/02/2019|
R119, Andrew had comparable looks, but George was the better singer.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||03/02/2019|
George Michael? Oh c'mon. He was certainly talented but his looks were nothing special at all. Glamour photography helped him out but otherwise he was very ordinary/borderline ugly.
I never particularly cared for Elvis' but in his prime he was undeniably handsome and charismatic . A face that is iconic.
And the young Robert Goulet had genuine movie star looks. As did Rick Nelson.
Jim Morisson, Kris Kristofferson, Glen Campell had big handsome manly faces.
Sorry... but George Michael just can't compare.

Ozzie and Harriet Nelson hit pay-dirt giving birth to a kid that looked like this.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||03/02/2019|
R123, sure if you post an unflattering pic of him when he still had babyfat.
In his prime, though, George was gorge.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||03/02/2019|
Rickey Nelson's voice was good but not great
|by Anonymous||reply 127||03/02/2019|
R124 was supposed to be Dino & Frankie.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||03/02/2019|
Literally none of the people you just mentioned are beautiful
|by Anonymous||reply 134||03/02/2019|
You must be over 70 years old, R134.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||03/02/2019|
R126 The spray tan and frosted hair helped somewhat but he was rat faced.
The splended Jim Morrison:
|by Anonymous||reply 136||03/02/2019|
Luther Vandross, Paul Anka, Michael Jackson and LL Cool J beautiful?... oh God....
|by Anonymous||reply 137||03/02/2019|
r135, if you love Paul Anka, then YOU'RE probably the one who is 70 years old
|by Anonymous||reply 138||03/02/2019|
Haha! I don't love Paul Anka, my grandmother had some VHS tapes of him. Gorgeous and what a voice. When he was young lol. I think he was a bit after your time R138? Anyway I forgot Bruno Mars and Shawn Mendes. Legendary singers, hot as fuck.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||03/02/2019|
Bruno Mars is hot as fuck?!
Shawn Mendes is legendary?!
|by Anonymous||reply 141||03/02/2019|
Michael was good-looking for about a half hour in the early 80s, before he hacked off too much of his nose. I think he looked his best in the "Billie Jean" video.
|by Anonymous||reply 142||03/02/2019|
Freddie wasn't beautiful, come on.
|by Anonymous||reply 143||03/02/2019|
R137 I went down a really weird rabbit hole a few months ago when my mother was dying, I'm actually still in that rabbit hole. Anyway, Put You're Head On My Shoulder by Paul Anka has come up, and was surprised by how many views it's had. I've always sort of liked his music because of her, but never realized his staying power.
Just looked it up, but I don't think this is the one I saw. I think the one I watched had even more views. Still, 22 million views.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||03/02/2019|
No denying Paul Anka was an important talent, but beautiful handsome? No.
|by Anonymous||reply 145||03/02/2019|
R143, only because of the teeth (and later the pornstache). But teeth aside he had a handsome and expressive face.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||03/02/2019|
Another vote for Macca.
I like Elvis, and he was very handsome in his prime, but he can't beat McCartney ' pipes.
I'd say Bruce Springsteen was beautiful, but more of a songwriting than as singing talent.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||03/02/2019|
R142 Scary. MJ was cute when he was 10. but he was not a handsome man by a long shot.
R146 Those teeth were front and center making him unattractive but if you want to argue that he had the greatest voice in pop history...I might agree with you.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||03/02/2019|
"I like Elvis, and he was very handsome in his prime, but he can't beat McCartney ' pipes."
Elvis was a much better singer than McCartney
|by Anonymous||reply 149||03/02/2019|
[quote]I like Elvis, and he was very handsome in his prime, but he can't beat McCartney ' pipes.
The annoyingly twee Paul McCartney can't hold a candle to Elvis as far as voices go.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||03/02/2019|
I third (or fourth or whatever) Sam Cooke.
|by Anonymous||reply 153||03/02/2019|
R145, I agree, am R144. I have my mom's copy of The Best of Paul Anka album, and remember her joking about how he looked on the cover, but yeah, there's no denying hearing those words combined with that voice would be divine.
And why are there so few songs about love currently? They dominated the charts for decades to where a break was nice, but now there's too little of it.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||03/02/2019|
Sam Cooke was pleasant looking but not handsome in the league of some listed here.
|by Anonymous||reply 155||03/02/2019|
It was a short run, granted, but for a time there, Jason Donovan looked like something I would have invented on a slab. Perfect.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||03/02/2019|
Dang, I just googled Sam Cooke and I had no idea about his crazy death. It's wild.
I wonder if his date for the night really was trying to rob him or she was scared he was going to rape her and fled.
Anyway, he was good looking but not really beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||03/02/2019|
he's not twee, he's british.
|by Anonymous||reply 158||03/02/2019|
Young John Fogerty and his cute mop top. I love his voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||03/02/2019|
In a related story, I had the hots for the lead singer of this band for years and found myself staying in the same hotel as him in Germany once. Shook hands with him in the lobby and talked a bit, very nice guy. But odd to shake hands with a guy you have beaten off to a dozen times before. I tried to put that out of ,my mind while we were talking but didn't work.
|by Anonymous||reply 161||03/02/2019|
R123, Are you sure that's not Kristy McNichol?
|by Anonymous||reply 162||03/02/2019|
more uncensored version, fyi
|by Anonymous||reply 163||03/02/2019|
Paul can be a screamer ;)
|by Anonymous||reply 164||03/02/2019|
Glenn Frey looked and sounded beautiful for a few decades. I wonder what he's up to now?
|by Anonymous||reply 165||03/02/2019|
R164 love your choice. And he can be an angel... with a mullet..
|by Anonymous||reply 166||03/02/2019|
He’s not up to anything R165, he died in 2016
|by Anonymous||reply 167||03/02/2019|
Good one, R122, David Usher should have had a much bigger career (or maybe he did in Canada or wherever he was based). So hot and "Black Black Heart" is one of the all time greatest singles ever released. Thanks for reminding me of it again.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||03/02/2019|
Nick Laird-Clowes of The Dream Academy
|by Anonymous||reply 169||03/02/2019|
That's a bad pic of George at R123. No way was Glen Campbell more handsome than George. Campbell was plain looking.
|by Anonymous||reply 170||03/02/2019|
R75 is right as far as looks go. But I can’t even remember whether he could sing well. Who cared? He was the Most Beautiful Man in the World.
|by Anonymous||reply 171||03/02/2019|
R173 Not the end of discussion.
|by Anonymous||reply 174||03/02/2019|
I don't know. This was towards his latter years, and I have to say I would probably have lost my words if I was in front of him. He was something else.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||03/02/2019|
Now he was beautiful. Fucking pity! IMO had a great rock voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||03/02/2019|
The late Billy MacKenzie of The Associates. Swoon-worthy.
|by Anonymous||reply 177||03/02/2019|

Square jawed, cleft chined Glen Campbell was so good looking that Hollywood called.
George Michael looked like a fancy hairdresser by comparison.
|by Anonymous||reply 178||03/02/2019|
Preferred him with a beard. Brought out his Native American Cherokee heritage.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||03/02/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 181||03/02/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 182||03/02/2019|
Whatever. They were/ are all influenced by Sister Tharpe.
|by Anonymous||reply 183||03/02/2019|
Elvis was extremely handsome in a greasy way. But nobody listens to him sing. He sounds like Cher.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||03/02/2019|
He looks like William Petersen from CSI at r180.
|by Anonymous||reply 186||03/02/2019|
I never cared for Elvis, I preferred the Beatles at the time. I have to admit, he was super hot in his all black leather outfit in the NBC special he did in 1968. That was his best look and he was in great shape. Amazing that only 6 years later, he'd become Fat Elvis.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||03/02/2019|
"Only" six years later? People can gain massive amounts of weight in a matter of months.
|by Anonymous||reply 192||03/02/2019|
Too bad Elvis's singing talent and sexy ooks didnt extend to the bedroom. Appatently he was a dud.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||03/02/2019|
R193 here. Autocorrect issues in my prior post. Please ignore.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||03/02/2019|
I have to say, I think it's Freddie Mercury that would win this. If we're tilting it towards handsome, Elvis wins by a landslide, but if we're keeping it even looks to talent ratio, it's Freddie. No one is better.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||03/02/2019|
Y'all realize this is completely pointless exercise without merit? My therapist says that all gay men have the psychological need to categorize and sub categorize everything and everyone until they are completely unhappy with everything. She thinks we should be reinstated in the DSM.
Truth is no one ever thinks about Elvis and I'd blow my brains out if I had to listen to Freddie Mercury for longer than 15 minutes.
There are living good looking men who sing, ya know?
|by Anonymous||reply 196||03/02/2019|
I liked the first and third Paul - couldn’t stand the second one.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||03/02/2019|
David Bowie for me.
second is Freddie Mercury, who was not as attractive but had unparalleled vocal talent. Bowie's was phenomenal but Mercury's vocals have been scientifically shown to be, basically, beyond the ability of any other human.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||03/02/2019|
R196, I know this. Someone I've known for thirty years, and was very close to for a very long time, died earlier today. My mom died at the end of November. I understand the importance of things and people. I'm on here as a distraction. Am R195. I fully understand there is no real importance to any of this,. How would you therapist feel about that? Would my behavior be OK with them?
|by Anonymous||reply 199||03/02/2019|
AIDS in the 80s and 90s was so fucking unfair 😥 An entire generation, gone.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||03/02/2019|
For today's artist, Shawn Mendes.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||03/02/2019|
And no, the person I referenced did not die of AIDs. People die of all sorts of things, in case you didn't know.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||03/02/2019|
I was not making any reference to your friend, r199/r202. It would be a little unusual for someone in a developed country to die of AIDS today given the availability of meds that prevent or suppress HIV. I was just mourning the loss of Freddie Mercury and untold numbers of other gay men who were wiped out in the early years of the AIDS epidemic.
I'm sorry for your loss.
|by Anonymous||reply 203||03/02/2019|
^^I'm R19, and I'm apologize, R203, I thought you were R196, and piling on the reference to AIDs based on someone else's comment. There's no offense taken, and thank you.

Adam lambert. Justin Timberlake.
|by Anonymous||reply 207||03/02/2019|
Adam Lambert has nice facial features but those acne scars of his are trully icky.
|by Anonymous||reply 208||03/02/2019|
In my mind it is between these two. Just my taste. And Marvin Gaye was a pretty man with great pipes..I place him 3rd.

Saw his American Masters special on PBS this week, Charley Pride was quite the handsome man back in the day.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||03/03/2019|
I assume the minimal mentions of Ricky Nelson have to do with his lack of musical talent (I don't know much about music and the only songs I know by him are 'Mary Lou' and 'Garden Party') because with regards to his looks, he was probably one of the most beautiful men who ever lived.
|by Anonymous||reply 214||03/03/2019|
R208 Adam just needs a little more makeup to hide his acne scars.
|by Anonymous||reply 216||03/03/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 220||03/03/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 225||03/03/2019|
Obviously, if we're establishing this by attaching mathematically perfect features to a near flawless voice, it's Taylor Hanson. Everyone on here is gorgeous but Taylor is a walking sculpture and the accuracy of his pitch and tone of his voice is exquisite.
|by Anonymous||reply 226||03/03/2019|
R226 The proportions of this face are nearly perfect. I'm just being technical about it. I have Big Science and Big Art behind me, naturally.
|by Anonymous||reply 227||03/03/2019|
R228 His voice is incredible. You may not personally like his music but he is an exceptional talent.
|by Anonymous||reply 229||03/03/2019|
No, his voice is okay at best
|by Anonymous||reply 230||03/03/2019|
R230 He's an exceptional talent AND exceptionally good looking. Those were the standards of this thread and he easily meets both to a very high level. And he sounds exceptional live. No one else sounds this good just hitting keys on a beach.
|by Anonymous||reply 232||03/03/2019|
R227 if you have Big Art behind you, shouldn't you be paying attention to his endeavours?
|by Anonymous||reply 233||03/03/2019|
R223 I don't even know what this means but you're achin' for a shankin'. I've stated my boundaries and you have cartwheeled over them. Taylor Hanson is best and you know it, you taunting dollar ditch tramp.
|by Anonymous||reply 235||03/03/2019|
R232, if I'm not being too personal, whereabouts are you?
|by Anonymous||reply 236||03/03/2019|
Oops, sorry R223! I was addressing the virtual discount bleach job at R233.
|by Anonymous||reply 237||03/03/2019|
R236 I'm not speaking with you until you apologize for saying Taylor Hanson is not muey talented. Should you choose to join the civilized world and acknowledge THIS shared reality of decent persons, I will join you in it and converse, then.
|by Anonymous||reply 238||03/03/2019|
Taylor Hanson is okay looking in a white trash sort of way. But as for the singing, he sounds like he needs a Jumbo bottle of Pure for Men.
|by Anonymous||reply 239||03/03/2019|
R239 Be honest: He is perfect looking in a white trash sort of way! And his voice is really beautiful. It floats and shimmers.
But I suppose I must acknowledge, to each his own.

R240, I think you're the answer to my nonsectarian prayers! I thought I was alone in my admiration--nay, adoration-- of the Divine Taylor. I receive only Mockery, Scorn and Derision (which is also a local law firm) whenever I express to others my esteem for Taylor. "Are you nuts?", "He can't sing for shit!", and "That skanky abortion?" are some of the more temperate comments from friends and family. But what do they know, R240? You and I are among The Enlightened. Bless you.
|by Anonymous||reply 241||03/03/2019|
R241 It's true. We are. You have to be born with The Ear.

Beautiful face + beautiful voice = Perry Como
|by Anonymous||reply 244||03/03/2019|
Taylor Hanson is good looking and has a good voice, but he's not a great singer. He still sings in that same weird pleading style (I don't know how else to describe it) as he did when he was young.
|by Anonymous||reply 246||03/03/2019|
Another vote for Chris Isaak. Johnny Mathis 2nd for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 247||03/03/2019|
If Elvis hadn't been from Mississippi white trash and had instead been from Paisley white trash, he could have been that handsome Roddy Frame.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||03/03/2019|
Stop the fighting, y'all.
Here is Rolling Stone's Top 10 list of best lead singers of all time. (from a band and not looks not considered) Robert Plant is no. 1, he was only mentioned once here but he was a looker back then.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Mick Jagger. In his prime, he was so hot, he even made straight men desire him.
1. Robert Plant 2. Freddie Mercury 3. Bono 4. Mick Jagger 5. Jim Morrison 6. Roger Daltrey 7. Eddie Vedder 8. John Lennon 9. Chris Cornell 10. Kurt Cobain
Out of the 10, Jim Morrison was the most physically beautiful, Freddie the most vocally talented.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||03/03/2019|
Young Axl Rose - huge vocal range and very pretty boy (albeit for a short window of time because ginger) plus he wrote his own songs/music alone and with collaboration.
I really love his voice and Appetite for Destruction is one of the best hard rock albums ever made.
He was/is also a massive asshole but I guess that isn't relevant to the thread title.
|by Anonymous||reply 253||03/03/2019|
Bono in his youth was handsome. It's the sexual energy the men bring, not necessarily the looks. Mick Jagger had this in spades in his prime.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||03/03/2019|
[quote]Beautiful face + beautiful voice = Perry Como
Perry was suave and handsome in his 1950s/early 60s heyday...but man, he's down right beautiful in that early clip at R244. Thanks for posting it.
|by Anonymous||reply 255||03/03/2019|
Huey Lewis was a handsome man and then he showed his reportedly big cock in that Robert Altman movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 256||03/03/2019|
Plus, Perry was Italian. Probably a big dick too.
|by Anonymous||reply 257||03/03/2019|
Adam Ant. Do yourself a favor though and DON'T look for updated pictures.
|by Anonymous||reply 258||03/03/2019|
Before he turned into Gollum, Mick Jagger was beautiful. Haven't heard him sing in ages so I don't know if his voice aged any better.
|by Anonymous||reply 259||03/03/2019|
George Strait on the other hand still looks and sounds great.
|by Anonymous||reply 260||03/03/2019|
I forgot to go country. Billy Currington. Plus he's a hot mess which makes him hotter.
|by Anonymous||reply 261||03/03/2019|
Josh Turner has a beautiful deep voice and face to match, but I find his looks and his music a mite bland. The best country artists tend to be your rawboned hillbillies like Hank and redneck boys like Merle and Johnny who live the hard life they sing about and it rarely comes in a pretty package. They might look hot for a couple years when they're young but tend to hit the wall hard and early, either swell up like a tick or get that stringy vulpine look.
|by Anonymous||reply 262||03/03/2019|
You fucker I was just going to post Josh Turner. His voice alone makes you melt.
|by Anonymous||reply 263||03/03/2019|
Plus George Strait is a homosexualist.
|by Anonymous||reply 264||03/03/2019|
Agree about Jeff Buckley. Very handsome, fantastic vocal range.
|by Anonymous||reply 265||03/03/2019|
John Doe. I met him once--nice guy, salt of the earth, no pretensions, just a good old boy. Wish I could say the same about his ex-wife.
|by Anonymous||reply 266||03/03/2019|
Is that a rumor with any substance, R264, or just more DL wishful thinking?
|by Anonymous||reply 267||03/03/2019|
R258 He doesn't look THAT bad, especially considering all the drugs he did back in the day. Unfortunately his teeth are a whole other matter (but he's a Brit so we have to forgive him for that one).
|by Anonymous||reply 269||03/03/2019|
Mick Jagger was beautiful in his younger days. Killing off his bandmate Brian Jones really aged him.
|by Anonymous||reply 270||03/03/2019|
Ty Herndon was ridiculously hot. Too bad about those bushes.
|by Anonymous||reply 271||03/03/2019|
Christopher Bryant Vélez Muñoz of CNCO

"Plus George Strait is a homosexualist."
|by Anonymous||reply 274||03/03/2019|
I love Elvis for both great looks and his smooth voice. But I knew I was gay when Ricky Martin shook his bonbon on the Grammy awards.
|by Anonymous||reply 275||03/03/2019|
Tom Petty - sexy when young. Nice eyes & hair.
Had that boxy chin and teeth needed work, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 276||03/03/2019|
Please, I love Tom Petty but he was not attractive.
Gary Allan, country, very sexy, good voice.
Charlie Puth, very cute, good singer.
Most of the guys mentioned here are not hot at all. Freddie Mercury, George Micheal?
|by Anonymous||reply 278||03/03/2019|
Zayn Malik used to be beautiful- before the tats and anorexia. He also had a great voice.
Sadly he's a wreck now.
|by Anonymous||reply 281||03/03/2019|
No one has mentioned the Biebs?
Say what you will, he's a very attractive young man.
Yes, I don't like all the ink, either.
|by Anonymous||reply 282||03/04/2019|
A lot of people didn't think so but I thought Laura Branigan was very pretty.
|by Anonymous||reply 283||03/04/2019|
I like Gary Allan but I wouldn't call him beautiful or even handsome--they probably put the cowboy hat on him to disguise the fact that his face is 2/3 forehead.
|by Anonymous||reply 284||03/04/2019|
A second vote for Eros Ramazzotti
|by Anonymous||reply 285||03/04/2019|
Marc Bolan was lovely -- before the weight gain.
|by Anonymous||reply 286||03/04/2019|
Laura Branigan is a male singer?
|by Anonymous||reply 287||03/04/2019|
But, R282, he can't sing for shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 289||03/04/2019|
Just came across this pic of Sir Mick, JFC, if half the stories about him are true, talk about ending up with the face you deserve.
|by Anonymous||reply 290||03/04/2019|
On the other hand no one can accuse him of being a plastic surgery addict like poor Pete Burns.
|by Anonymous||reply 291||03/04/2019|
Julius LaRosa and his nice hairy arms.
|by Anonymous||reply 292||03/04/2019|
Layne Staley from Alice In Chains was a very beautiful man imo I also agree with Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain.
|by Anonymous||reply 293||03/04/2019|
Ohhh and Daniel Johns when he was young was super pretty to me, and he can sing. Don’t laugh if you don’t believe me check out “Diorama “ by silverchair or his solo stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 294||03/04/2019|
Silverchair was *the* band of my high school years for my friends me I. Daniel was pretty, but I always preferred Chris :)
|by Anonymous||reply 295||03/04/2019|
R296 lol they were my favorite band during my high school years (1995-1999) and Yes Chris was pretty too, and Ben was sort of pretty as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||03/04/2019|
Another vote for Johnny Mathis
|by Anonymous||reply 298||03/05/2019|
Yes. And bonus points for niceness.
|by Anonymous||reply 299||03/05/2019|
Mathis was an incredible singer, attractive and with great charisma. But a handsome beauty? No.
|by Anonymous||reply 300||03/05/2019|
I think young Johnny Mathis was handsome
|by Anonymous||reply 302||03/05/2019|
R246 I love his expressiveness. He has a truly beautiful voice, too.
|by Anonymous||reply 303||03/05/2019|
PAUL MCCARTNEY OWNS THIS THREAD
|by Anonymous||reply 304||03/05/2019|
Extreme talent AND extreme beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 305||03/05/2019|
R305 Though that does bring to mind another major beauty and talent, Smokey Robinson.
|by Anonymous||reply 306||03/05/2019|
Good looking? Yes. Singing talent? NO!
|by Anonymous||reply 307||03/05/2019|
R307 Taylor Hanson absolutely has talent. This isn't debatable, it just is. Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not is your prerogative. But that doesn't make what is, isn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 308||03/05/2019|
The Taylor Hansen Troll has reappeared.
Maybe we should put him and Janbot in a room together.
Sure, TH is talented. Maybe that's why he has more $$$$ in the bank than Bieber.
Oh, wait. That's right, he doesn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 309||03/06/2019|
I didn't know we had a Taylor Hanson troll. What did they have one hit song 60 years ago?
|by Anonymous||reply 310||03/06/2019|
Male beauty that matched an incredible voice: Robert Goulet.
|by Anonymous||reply 312||03/06/2019|
Robert Goulet is probably the best response in this thread - he was gorgeous (when he was young, at least) and had a great voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 313||03/06/2019|
When I saw Alan Paul (Manhattan Transfer) sing this song in concert, I swooned which has never happened to me any other time. I was sitting in the front row and could see the sweat dripping off his forehead.
|by Anonymous||reply 314||03/06/2019|
I also love Brendon Urie....has anyone mentioned him? Incredible voice and great charisma.
|by Anonymous||reply 315||03/06/2019|
R3, I didn't see your Robert Goulet post. But I agree!
|by Anonymous||reply 317||03/06/2019|
On what planet was Robert Goulet "gorgeous"?! I'm not saying he was ugly but he definitely wasn't all that handsome either.
|by Anonymous||reply 318||03/06/2019|
"Please don't hate me because I'm beautiful."
|by Anonymous||reply 320||03/06/2019|
[quote]On what planet was Robert Goulet "gorgeous"?! I'm not saying he was ugly but he definitely wasn't all that handsome either.
Uh...on what planet are you from?
Everyone agrees that Goulet was handsome. Dashing movie star looks... those crystal blue eyes.
Elvis, Goulet, Nelson... those were unearthly handsome men in their prime.
|by Anonymous||reply 322||03/06/2019|
[quote]Judy adored him.
Goulet and Jack Jones.
She had lousy taste in husbands but good taste in singers...
|by Anonymous||reply 323||03/06/2019|
Judy also admired Vic Damone.

Bryan Ferry posing with one of his sons in GQ
|by Anonymous||reply 325||03/06/2019|
If Judy adored Robert Goulet, it's probably because he could drink her under the table.
She didn't encounter that often.
|by Anonymous||reply 326||03/06/2019|
A haunting song by Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music
|by Anonymous||reply 327||03/06/2019|
Not even Paul McCartney would be egotistical enough to claim he was a better singer or better looking than Elvis.
Millions listen to Elvis , have listened to Elvis and will continue to listen to Elvis. People who know about music and singing agree he had a great voice as did Freddie Mercury. Freddie was beautiful, his overbite was adorable.
|by Anonymous||reply 329||03/06/2019|

|by Anonymous||reply 330||03/06/2019|
Gino Vanelli - strong gorgeous voice and gorgeous man. IMO, his vocals are more powerful than Freddie's. He had creative differences with his record label (Clive Davis?) who wanted to steer him toward pop music (he leaned jazz). IMO, he could have been a bigger star.
|by Anonymous||reply 331||03/06/2019|
The handsome James Ingram, RIP.

Michael McDonald in the 80's.. Nowadays, he's looks a like a hot old man but still has that hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 334||03/06/2019|
Its Elvis. IMO of course.
|by Anonymous||reply 335||03/06/2019|
I met Ricky Nelson in the 1960s. He was exquisite.
|by Anonymous||reply 336||03/06/2019|
I haven’t read all 300 posts but has anyone pointed out what a highest ratio means? It means the largest difference between talent and looks, not the highest amounts of looks and talent.
Maybe OP shouldn’t have used the word “highest” but “best.” A best ratio is one where looks and talent are both the same at an excellent level, yielding the lowest ratio possible, i.e. 1. Elvis is a 10 in looks and a 10 in talent. His ratio would be 10/10, or 1. Tiny Tim is a 1 in looks and a 1 in talent, and his ratio would ALSO be1.
So the word highest is inappropriate, yet the word best implies a 1 that’s a result of two top scores as opposed to one that’s a result of two low scores, or, obviously a 10 that’s a result of one very high score and one very low score.
Also do not confuse incidence with ratio.
|by Anonymous||reply 337||03/06/2019|
This is Datalounge. Do you not thing Professor Post has already explained what a highest ratio means?
|by Anonymous||reply 338||03/07/2019|
R309 an R310 OP asks us which male singer has both extreme beauty and extreme talent and I'm supposed to just NOT post "Taylor Hanson" even though it's a relevant answer? And trolls don't care. I care about ALL.
|by Anonymous||reply 339||03/07/2019|
In what world does Taylor have "extreme talent"?
|by Anonymous||reply 340||03/07/2019|
R340 In the world that has music in it.
|by Anonymous||reply 341||03/07/2019|
Not the world I'm living in
|by Anonymous||reply 342||03/07/2019|
r342 Being incapable of recognizing something for whatever reason, doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
|by Anonymous||reply 343||03/07/2019|
Bowie had an amazing voice and a beautiful face.
|by Anonymous||reply 344||03/07/2019|
Never saw Bowie as handsome or sexy, either.
|by Anonymous||reply 345||03/07/2019|
Bowie looked like a lizard.
|by Anonymous||reply 346||03/07/2019|
Obviously Brandon Flowers, charismatic and instantly recognizable vocals, he is one of the few singers that does not employ the horrible falsetto cat on heat nasal whine technique, and is the hottest dude in music ever.
|by Anonymous||reply 348||03/07/2019|
I get it. Some asshole here really likes Taylor.
|by Anonymous||reply 351||03/07/2019|
As for that awful Bowie pic. Show me someone who DOES look good with shaved eyebrows, an eyepatch, and a red mullet.
|by Anonymous||reply 352||03/08/2019|
R351 In times of universal deceit, to speak the truth about Taylor Hanson is a revolutionary act!

|by Anonymous||reply 358||04/07/2019|
And his profile is ugly too.

Dennis Morgan - as you watch "Christmas in Connecticut" every holiday season -- beautiful voice, he starred in many movie musicals
Franco Corelli - if only he had been still performing in the video age - gorgeous and thrilling voice
Tony Martin and Vic Damone - handsome and great voices, both
|by Anonymous||reply 360||04/07/2019|
He was VERY good looking in the 1960's and 1970's (Especially when he posed NAKED in Playgirl) FABIAN though he was a NO TALENT.
|by Anonymous||reply 362||04/07/2019|
The really talented one of the group Fabian toured with in later years was Bobby Rydell -- great voice. Frankie Avalon was very cute, but with a pleasant, but usually no more than that singing voice.

George Michael, Adam Lambert and Freddie Mercury

I'm sorry, but this Felix guy isn't cute at all. In fact, he's more on the ugly side if you ask me.
Just compare him with John Boles, another singer/actor from that same era - now THAT is a beautiful man!
|by Anonymous||reply 374||04/14/2019|
There's always Franco Corelli.
