Go MIchael!
I can't believe how much I used to hate this man.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 27, 2019 1:44 PM |
Might be good to also post his expected opening statement here:
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 27, 2019 1:46 PM |
Hot diggety dog!
And Gym Jordan, too, whose profound stupidity should be on show, as a bonus!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 27, 2019 1:49 PM |
Is there going to be a live broadcast?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 27, 2019 1:49 PM |
Thanks, R6!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 27, 2019 1:50 PM |
Cohen is in the building.
Pundits are talking about how Rethugs have set up placards saying that Cohen has lost his moral compass. Amazing they have the nerve to project so hard.
They're also saying that Rethugs are going to try to delay the testimony.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 27, 2019 1:51 PM |
I shiver with ANTICIP....ATION!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 27, 2019 1:52 PM |
I’m nauseous
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 27, 2019 1:52 PM |
r8, Repukes have NO shame.
Always remember that.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 27, 2019 1:53 PM |
Delay? The last tactic of a desperate party...
Cohen has already been sentenced. He is testifying under penalty of perjury. He HAS THE RECEIPTS...
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 27, 2019 1:56 PM |
May the whole corrupt house of cards Trump and the GOP have built come tumbling down TODAY!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 27, 2019 1:57 PM |
Apparently Dotard is busy tweeting about Cohen calling him a rat and a liar.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 27, 2019 1:57 PM |
God damn! that fuck face Matthew Gaetz just walked into the hearing! That fucker is there!
At least he isn't allowed to ask any questions here.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 27, 2019 1:58 PM |
I have a large bag of popcorn.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 27, 2019 1:58 PM |
The trumpturds in the comments of my local paper are squirming, projecting and deflecting.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 27, 2019 1:58 PM |
Was just about to post about Gaetz walking in with that cocky, rich boy swagger. They should have thrown his ass in jail.

Geraldo Rivera Verified account @GeraldoRivera
Listening to various commentators evaluating impending extraordinary scene in which convicted liar @MichaelCohen212 attempts to knife @POTUS in back. Previews suggest Cohen testimony will be dramatic, entertaining, embarrassing, nothing new & will not advance Collusion narrative.
Still roiled by how raw meat-take no prisoners-politicians are circling sharklike around @MichaelCohen212-the president's former fixer-even as @realDonaldTrump attempts to ink a historic deal w #NOKO to lessen nuclear tensions.-patriotism taking a backseat to gotcha partisanship.
W our righteous focus on nuclear disarmament talks at #NorthKoreaSummit-also in Asia #Pakistan just shot down two #Indian warplanes-capturing an Indian pilot. Both Pakistan & India are nuclear powers-if they go to war the world could end. But hey, how about that #Stormy Daniels!?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 27, 2019 2:00 PM |
Pundits are talking about how Stone and Cohen hate each other and its because they were all in competition for Dotard's affections. That seems so fucking bizarre to me. They must all be mentally damaged.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 27, 2019 2:01 PM |
Matt Gaetz has a face that needs to be pummeled.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 27, 2019 2:03 PM |

Funny how they're screaming Cohen is a lying liar and can't be trusted and yet they have no problems with Jr or Kushner or Kav.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 27, 2019 2:04 PM |
Meadows is trying to pull a Lindsey.
Already with the fucking drama. Look how sober and dignified Cummings is
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 27, 2019 2:05 PM |
Oh look a Repuke is already trying to stall the hearing.

by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 27, 2019 2:08 PM |
So glad Rethugs are getting a taste of being steam rolled. Fuckers. They all look like they're going to cry.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 27, 2019 2:08 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 27, 2019 2:09 PM |
They are finally getting a taste of what they themselves used to dish out to the Democrats.
And surprise surprise, they DON'T like it. HA HA HA HA HA
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 27, 2019 2:09 PM |
I put it on BBC News. Lemme know when they start.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 27, 2019 2:09 PM |
"You've made it clear that you don't want the American people to hear what Mr. Cohen is going to say. But the American people have a right to hear it."
- Elijah Cummings
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 27, 2019 2:10 PM |
Cohen needs to cooperate fully with SDNY. He's holding stuff back. He wants blanket immunity.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 27, 2019 2:10 PM |
R48, love it and love him.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 27, 2019 2:10 PM |
This is all so the Trump Sycophants can go on FOX and complain about how unfair this hearing is, and claim the Democrats violated the rules. Since they will have a harder time claiming Cohen is now lying.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 27, 2019 2:11 PM |
Hit the cold showers, Gym, and cool down!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 27, 2019 2:11 PM |
I don't know if my ticker can handle this shit.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 27, 2019 2:11 PM |
How fair is Chairman Cummings. "Why should we believe him now? ... Everyone of us has a duty to serve as a check ... we are in search for the truth."
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
Repubs are really freaked the fuck out.
Lets hope the testimony warrants it and is gravely damaging. I mean, we KNOW he is a scumbag, but its time an official recounting of his lying, slimeball ways comes out.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
Is his son Jake Cohen in attendance?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
Go, Rep. Cummings!
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
[quote]They should have thrown his ass in jail.
The Democratic Coalition is filing a House ethics complaint, which actually might mean something since the Dems have the House now.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
I'm so confused why Dotard was stupid enough to sign the check over to Cohen himself? Why didn't he have someone else like Jr write it?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 27, 2019 2:12 PM |
[quote] Cohen needs to cooperate fully with SDNY. He's holding stuff back. He wants blanket immunity.
That would probably mean a longer jail sentence than he has now and maybe one for his wife and father-in-law also. I am no fan of Cohen but I can see why he isn't cooperating fully.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 27, 2019 2:13 PM |
[quote]Apparently Dotard is busy tweeting about Cohen calling him a rat and a liar.
Because he's a mob boss and a thug, not a president. A pile of hoodlum shit.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 27, 2019 2:13 PM |
Such strength in Cummings. He's seen far worse. The bitching this morning is like a snowflake on his shoulder. Insignificant and already gone.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 27, 2019 2:13 PM |
Repubs are going to interrupt and try to shut Cohen up as much as they can.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 27, 2019 2:14 PM |
r57, it doesn't appear that any of Cohen's family is in attendance.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 27, 2019 2:14 PM |
R61. thus the blanket immunity.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 27, 2019 2:14 PM |
[quote]I'm so confused why Dotard was stupid enough to sign the check over to Cohen himself? Why didn't he have someone else like Jr write it?
Because he got away with such behavior his entire business life prior to now.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 27, 2019 2:14 PM |
[quote]Repubs are going to interrupt and try to shut Cohen up as much as they can.

by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 27, 2019 2:15 PM |
This is such DL catnip
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 27, 2019 2:15 PM |
I wish Dems would just repeat over and over, "Cohen may have lied.... but you need to look into his heart, right, Rethugs?"
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 27, 2019 2:15 PM |
Gym Jordan is sweating like a ho in church. Nervous little fucker.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 27, 2019 2:15 PM |
From Cohen's statement:
[quote]Mr. Trump directed me to find a straw bidder to purchase a portrait of him that was being auctioned at an Art Hamptons Event. The objective was to ensure that his portrait, which was going to be auctioned last, would go for the highest price of any portrait that afternoon.
Some people are saying that the artist said Trump himself paid for the portrait, which may be true, but on Twitter Trump bragged that he "just found out" the portrait went for a large amount of money, implying someone else purchased it. Haha. Loser.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 27, 2019 2:15 PM |
I can't watch. Too much emotion. Hurts my chest. CNBC has a committee hearing on trade with China.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 27, 2019 2:16 PM |
Gym Jordan wants to change into his wrestling attire and tussle and sweat with Cohen.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 27, 2019 2:17 PM |
Did he just say the days of Rethugs protecting the Pres are OVER?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 27, 2019 2:17 PM |
We can already predict how it will go: Republicans will deflect, personally attack Cohen and defend Trump. They won't attempt to get the truth.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 27, 2019 2:18 PM |
[quote]Did he just say the days of Rethugs protecting the Pres are OVER?
"The days of this committee protecting the president are over."
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 27, 2019 2:19 PM |
R75 he said the days of "this committee."
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 27, 2019 2:19 PM |
He absolutely did, R75.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 27, 2019 2:19 PM |
Oh God they already blamed HIllary.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 27, 2019 2:20 PM |
[quote]Cummings points out that Cohen has a lot to lose if he lies: those lies will be reported back to the DOJ. Then says, "The days of this committee protecting the President at all costs are over."

"The Michael Cohen testimony presented by Lanny Davis ... Clinton's best friend."
- Jim Jordan, as slimy as ever.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | February 27, 2019 2:20 PM |
Wow Jordan is an asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 27, 2019 2:20 PM |
what about Hillary's emails?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 27, 2019 2:21 PM |
Oh dang, he has checks that Trump gave him to pay off Stormy Daniels? I didn't realize that.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 27, 2019 2:21 PM |
Jim Jordan is despicable.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 27, 2019 2:22 PM |
Go ahead, Jordan, drop the f bomb, slimeball.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 27, 2019 2:22 PM |
Checks drawn after Trump became President
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 27, 2019 2:22 PM |
Didn't Jordan kind of enable same-sex molestation in the college wrestling team he coached?
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 27, 2019 2:22 PM |
Jordan -- who's his boyfriend?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 27, 2019 2:23 PM |
Why do they keep allowing the false narrative that Clinton funded the Dossier first?
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 27, 2019 2:23 PM |
Probably participated.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 27, 2019 2:23 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 27, 2019 2:24 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 101 | February 27, 2019 2:24 PM |
Of course they will, R99. And then there's always Chelsea and her children they can go after!
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
They're still pissy about FDR, R99, so I'll say yes.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
Finally, Cohen gets to speak!
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
Maddow said this would be the Repubs tactic. To bomb the session with disruptive motions.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
Jordan acts like a 6 year old boy.
Much like HIS president.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
Jordan sounds like an episode of Faux News. HILLARY. ALL HILLARY’S fault.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 27, 2019 2:25 PM |
I almost feel sorry for Cohen.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 27, 2019 2:26 PM |
So Jordan's boyfriend... how old is he?
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 27, 2019 2:26 PM |
Cohen has a legal defense fund lol. He's worth like $20 million still.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | February 27, 2019 2:27 PM |
Jim Jordan, the ticket supplier for Kim Davis, is an odd duck.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | February 27, 2019 2:28 PM |
I like Jordan is acting as though no one in human history who has lied attempts to correct their lies for whatever reason. Why on earth would he be there? For "Hillary"? "Obama"? Right-wingers are so visceral in their hate that it renders them stupid in their excuses.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | February 27, 2019 2:28 PM |
Shame. Shame. Shame.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | February 27, 2019 2:28 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 114 | February 27, 2019 2:30 PM |

Cummings refusal to play by committee rules will not play well in middle America. The Republucans are playing their hand as best they can vis a vis the 2020 election, as are the Democrats.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | February 27, 2019 2:31 PM |
He left out George Soros, Shirley Chisholm, Saul Alinsky, and Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Middle America won't give a shit about procedure, R117, but thanks for playing.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | February 27, 2019 2:33 PM |
R117, I don't think middle America cares about committee rules. They're going to hear about Trump calling African-Americans stupid and other incendiary stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | February 27, 2019 2:33 PM |
This is Rep Jim Jordan's duck shaped gerrymandered district to insure that he never has to worry about being re-elected.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | February 27, 2019 2:33 PM |
Cohen sounds like a character from the Sopranos. That Long Island mobster accent.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | February 27, 2019 2:33 PM |
OH! MC mentions the Holocaust! He's got the Jews now!
by Anonymous | reply 124 | February 27, 2019 2:35 PM |
They're going to use him saying he would do anything to protect his family as "proof" he's lying for Dems.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 27, 2019 2:36 PM |
LOL, yeah, "middle America" isn't offended by Trump, but "procedure" is what offends them. Jesus Christ, R117. Really?

Lanny Davis is sitting behind Cohen and to the left of Cohen as you see him on the TV screen for those who are not familiar with him.

R144, was he talking about his trial?!! if so, to prison!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 148 | February 27, 2019 2:43 PM |
Cohen is doing really well delivering his testimony. It's dramatic yet not full-on, like a 1970s table read for a Scorsese film.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | February 27, 2019 2:43 PM |

No R264, I already knew Trump was a racist, egomaniacal philanderer. All major businessmen and politicians are just like this. I am not surprised, and I have heard all this about Trump specifically. What did Cohen add? I worked in the loan industry, I can't tell you how many people inflate their assets to get loans and then deflate them to save money on taxes. Regular people and I am amazed how they get away with this. I don't doubt for a second that people as wealthy as Trump create fiction for their tax returns.

R306 it also validates what rational people saw with their own eyes and heard with their own ears. It reaffirms and validates our revulsion to Trump and his mob family. The GOP has tried for two years to drown out this kind of discussion. I welcome it, and fuck anyone in the cult. They're lost.

Absolutely, R332. I saw some of the 538 livebloggers get irritated at Cohen bringing up things that weren't illegal, like contacting the schools, but I felt that it went a long way toward validating rumors we've heard for years AND explaining the character of Trump.

R444, It was totally gratuitous.
Who do you think needs to be persuaded on that panel, re: Cohen's credibility? Both Parties know he's telling the truth.
And the opinions of the Great Unwashed are irrelevant.
This hearing may be televised, but it's not a TV program.

Cohen calling out the Repugs for covering for Trump was pure gold.
by Anonymous | reply 463 | February 27, 2019 4:24 PM |
Cohen did like so many others who were not particularly brilliant enough on their own to make it to the big leagues. He found himself eventually in a position of affluence mainly through luck, not talent. with Trump he allowed himself to get locked into a standard of life, even though it meant doing some really bad things. He eventually saw what he was involved with but was unable, or unwilling to get himself out of it because that would mean a reduction in his standard of living. And it all eventually went to hell, as it usually does with people like him who are basically way out of their league.
He truly has nothing to lose at this point. And that scares the every loving JEBUS out of the GOP.

This is interesting.
Why Did a Russian NHL Player Sue Trump’s Lawyer, Michael Cohen?
In January of 1999, Malakhov wrote a check for $350,000 to Michael D. Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer. The check was deposited — and then the money disappeared.
by Anonymous | reply 466 | February 27, 2019 4:25 PM |
Why wouldn't you, R436? You genuinely have to be an idiot not to believe him. I said it before Cohen himself said it: There is no reason to protect someone who turns on you without a single second to think about it. Cohen has lost everything and going to prison and he was defending Trump even after he left the WH, so the pathetic attempt by Jordan to claim it was over being fired or whatever nonsense Jordan was claiming is fucking preposterous on so many levels.
Trump is George Costanza pushing women and children out of the way when the kitchen caught fire. He is a selfish pile of shit.

r435 you may be blocking the same trolls I block. I see gaps in the number sequence; I doubt I'm missing anything. It's been evident for awhile that if the GOP were completely innocent, they'd sit back without interfering and watch the yolks on the Democrats' faces stream down. Instead those rumoured to have shady backgrounds and shameful secrets think the louder and fiercer they protest and obstruct, the more innocent the party must be.

Maggie Haberman White House Correspondent 12:35 PM ET Cohen is now getting asked questions about meetings involving Jay Sekulow and the president about his impending testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in the spring of 2017.
“He wanted me to cooperated. He also just wanted to insure…there is no Russia, there is no collusion, there is no deal, he goes, ‘It’s all a witch hunt. This stuff has to end,’” Cohen recalls Trump saying.
Where Rep. Connolly is going with this is suggesting that Trump, in the presence of one of his lawyers, Jay Sekulow, indicated that Cohen should tell congress that there was no Russia deal.
Nicholas Fandos Nicholas Fandos Congressional Correspondent 12:36 PM ET Cohen is echoing his opening remarks here, with some of the same ambiguity. Cohen is essentially saying that Trump conveyed to him his desire for Cohen to lie but did not say it explicitly.

And can someone please investigate him just a bit? I wouldn't be that much surprised if that obnoxious dick had any affiliation with the Trump Organization and the like.

AOC is there.

These dudes ranting about Mikey's "foreign contracts" had better understand the nature of that beast. It WILL come back to bite Ivanka, Jared, Manafort, and TRUMP.

So looking forward to AOC's questioning!

R582 what about all the Trump lovers in the northeast, the central and mountain states, and the west coast? It's just very convenient that the GOP has stacked that committee with members from the south. The insinuation that because there are so many southern republican scumbags on that committee means that the majority of those who live in the south are Trump lovers is ludicrous.

R563 ain’t lying, that’s for sure.

What's Mikey's game here, on Russians buying Trump properties? It's sounding like a weasel "I know NUSSING!" moment.

THESE RIPIGS ARE A WASTE OF TIME!

I'll be honest. After today's appearance I hope Cohen is able to get a huge reduction in his sentence. I'd go so far as to say I'd love to see his sentence reduced to probation. And I so hope he writes a tell all book as soon as possible.

They're pathetically trying to make him bigger than he is. Cohen was a two-bit, tri-state area lawyer with shady dealings - that was his appeal to Trump. Look, NYC is an immigrant town, much of Trump's money is made from immigrant dealings. Those immigrants who come here and get wealthy, mention (shady) deals that could be made with Trump in their home countries. Trump hears "money" and that's enough.
I know this is going to sound weird, but Trump isn't "white" like you people who worship him in the Midwest/South. He doesn't buy into your mom and apple pie bullshit, but you think he does. He doesn't understand you people.

Whooo! He killed with his answers to the questions about Sader.
Rep. Amash from Michigan might be one of the few decent Republicans in Congress.
These former military need to understand you swear an oath to defend the Constitution, not the fucker in the WH.

Mr. Gibbs is a silver tongued devil.

Sorry, but I'd book a room at the motel with Cohen for a PNP session. No fisting but I'd def bring the disco lights... Legs up...

Yeah, Michael Cohen is a liar but the more the slimey GOP House Members attack him, the more sympathy I feel for him.

I’m not a huge AOC fan but she really had one of the best lines of questioning.

R212 Well done weave versus cheap, tacky wig. Doesn't matter when it's on top of trash. They're both trash. The well done weave helped Trump get elected.
