And Gym Jordan, too, whose profound stupidity should be on show, as a bonus!

by Anonymousreply 4February 27, 2019 1:49 PM

Is there going to be a live broadcast?

Cohen is in the building.

Pundits are talking about how Rethugs have set up placards saying that Cohen has lost his moral compass. Amazing they have the nerve to project so hard.

They're also saying that Rethugs are going to try to delay the testimony.

by Anonymousreply 8February 27, 2019 1:51 PM

I shiver with ANTICIP....ATION!

by Anonymousreply 9February 27, 2019 1:52 PM

I’m nauseous

by Anonymousreply 10February 27, 2019 1:52 PM

r8, Repukes have NO shame.

Always remember that.

by Anonymousreply 11February 27, 2019 1:53 PM

Delay? The last tactic of a desperate party...

Cohen has already been sentenced. He is testifying under penalty of perjury. He HAS THE RECEIPTS...

by Anonymousreply 12February 27, 2019 1:56 PM

May the whole corrupt house of cards Trump and the GOP have built come tumbling down TODAY!

by Anonymousreply 13February 27, 2019 1:57 PM

Apparently Dotard is busy tweeting about Cohen calling him a rat and a liar.

by Anonymousreply 14February 27, 2019 1:57 PM

God damn! that fuck face Matthew Gaetz just walked into the hearing! That fucker is there!

At least he isn't allowed to ask any questions here.

by Anonymousreply 15February 27, 2019 1:58 PM

I have a large bag of popcorn.

by Anonymousreply 16February 27, 2019 1:58 PM

The trumpturds in the comments of my local paper are squirming, projecting and deflecting.

by Anonymousreply 17February 27, 2019 1:58 PM

Was just about to post about Gaetz walking in with that cocky, rich boy swagger. They should have thrown his ass in jail.

by Anonymousreply 18February 27, 2019 1:59 PM

Hillary Clifferds ate my testical

by Anonymousreply 19February 27, 2019 2:00 PM

Is Susan Collins trembling with concerns?

by Anonymousreply 20February 27, 2019 2:00 PM

Geraldo Rivera Verified account @GeraldoRivera

Listening to various commentators evaluating impending extraordinary scene in which convicted liar @MichaelCohen212 attempts to knife @POTUS in back. Previews suggest Cohen testimony will be dramatic, entertaining, embarrassing, nothing new & will not advance Collusion narrative.

Still roiled by how raw meat-take no prisoners-politicians are circling sharklike around @MichaelCohen212-the president's former fixer-even as @realDonaldTrump attempts to ink a historic deal w #NOKO to lessen nuclear tensions.-patriotism taking a backseat to gotcha partisanship.

W our righteous focus on nuclear disarmament talks at #NorthKoreaSummit-also in Asia #Pakistan just shot down two #Indian warplanes-capturing an Indian pilot. Both Pakistan & India are nuclear powers-if they go to war the world could end. But hey, how about that #Stormy Daniels!?

by Anonymousreply 21February 27, 2019 2:00 PM

Pundits are talking about how Stone and Cohen hate each other and its because they were all in competition for Dotard's affections. That seems so fucking bizarre to me. They must all be mentally damaged.

by Anonymousreply 22February 27, 2019 2:01 PM

Matt Gaetz has a face that needs to be pummeled.

by Anonymousreply 23February 27, 2019 2:03 PM

And they're already trying to stall.

by Anonymousreply 24February 27, 2019 2:04 PM

Meadows is so obnoxious. I hate the South.

by Anonymousreply 25February 27, 2019 2:04 PM

Desperate.

by Anonymousreply 26February 27, 2019 2:04 PM

Funny how they're screaming Cohen is a lying liar and can't be trusted and yet they have no problems with Jr or Kushner or Kav.

by Anonymousreply 27February 27, 2019 2:04 PM

Meadows is trying to pull a Lindsey.

Already with the fucking drama. Look how sober and dignified Cummings is

by Anonymousreply 28February 27, 2019 2:05 PM

Oh look a Repuke is already trying to stall the hearing.

by Anonymousreply 29February 27, 2019 2:05 PM

Look at Meadows getting all red in the face.

by Anonymousreply 30February 27, 2019 2:05 PM

Who is this guy screaming and looking so desperate that he looks like he's going to shit his pants.

by Anonymousreply 31February 27, 2019 2:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 32February 27, 2019 2:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 40February 27, 2019 2:07 PM

by Anonymousreply 42February 27, 2019 2:08 PM

So glad Rethugs are getting a taste of being steam rolled. Fuckers. They all look like they're going to cry.

by Anonymousreply 43February 27, 2019 2:08 PM

R32, it's called being flip when one is annoyed. You sound senile. Blocked.

by Anonymousreply 44February 27, 2019 2:09 PM

Reclaiming my time!

by Anonymousreply 45February 27, 2019 2:09 PM

They are finally getting a taste of what they themselves used to dish out to the Democrats.

And surprise surprise, they DON'T like it. HA HA HA HA HA

by Anonymousreply 46February 27, 2019 2:09 PM

I put it on BBC News. Lemme know when they start.

by Anonymousreply 47February 27, 2019 2:09 PM

"You've made it clear that you don't want the American people to hear what Mr. Cohen is going to say. But the American people have a right to hear it."

- Elijah Cummings

by Anonymousreply 48February 27, 2019 2:10 PM

Cohen needs to cooperate fully with SDNY. He's holding stuff back. He wants blanket immunity.

by Anonymousreply 49February 27, 2019 2:10 PM

Have a great day!

by Anonymousreply 50February 27, 2019 2:10 PM

R48, love it and love him.

by Anonymousreply 51February 27, 2019 2:10 PM

This is all so the Trump Sycophants can go on FOX and complain about how unfair this hearing is, and claim the Democrats violated the rules. Since they will have a harder time claiming Cohen is now lying.

by Anonymousreply 52February 27, 2019 2:11 PM

Hit the cold showers, Gym, and cool down!

by Anonymousreply 53February 27, 2019 2:11 PM

I don't know if my ticker can handle this shit.

by Anonymousreply 54February 27, 2019 2:11 PM

How fair is Chairman Cummings. "Why should we believe him now? ... Everyone of us has a duty to serve as a check ... we are in search for the truth."

by Anonymousreply 55February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

Repubs are really freaked the fuck out.

Lets hope the testimony warrants it and is gravely damaging. I mean, we KNOW he is a scumbag, but its time an official recounting of his lying, slimeball ways comes out.

by Anonymousreply 56February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

Is his son Jake Cohen in attendance?

by Anonymousreply 57February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

Go, Rep. Cummings!

by Anonymousreply 58February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

[quote]They should have thrown his ass in jail.

The Democratic Coalition is filing a House ethics complaint, which actually might mean something since the Dems have the House now.

by Anonymousreply 59February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

I'm so confused why Dotard was stupid enough to sign the check over to Cohen himself? Why didn't he have someone else like Jr write it?

by Anonymousreply 60February 27, 2019 2:12 PM

[quote] Cohen needs to cooperate fully with SDNY. He's holding stuff back. He wants blanket immunity.

That would probably mean a longer jail sentence than he has now and maybe one for his wife and father-in-law also. I am no fan of Cohen but I can see why he isn't cooperating fully.

by Anonymousreply 61February 27, 2019 2:13 PM

[quote]Apparently Dotard is busy tweeting about Cohen calling him a rat and a liar.

Because he's a mob boss and a thug, not a president. A pile of hoodlum shit.

by Anonymousreply 62February 27, 2019 2:13 PM

Such strength in Cummings. He's seen far worse. The bitching this morning is like a snowflake on his shoulder. Insignificant and already gone.

by Anonymousreply 63February 27, 2019 2:13 PM

Repubs are going to interrupt and try to shut Cohen up as much as they can.

by Anonymousreply 64February 27, 2019 2:14 PM

r57, it doesn't appear that any of Cohen's family is in attendance.

by Anonymousreply 65February 27, 2019 2:14 PM

R61. thus the blanket immunity.

by Anonymousreply 66February 27, 2019 2:14 PM

[quote]I'm so confused why Dotard was stupid enough to sign the check over to Cohen himself? Why didn't he have someone else like Jr write it?

Because he got away with such behavior his entire business life prior to now.

by Anonymousreply 67February 27, 2019 2:14 PM

[quote]Repubs are going to interrupt and try to shut Cohen up as much as they can.

So a day that ends in "y"

by Anonymousreply 68February 27, 2019 2:15 PM

This is such DL catnip

by Anonymousreply 69February 27, 2019 2:15 PM

I wish Dems would just repeat over and over, "Cohen may have lied.... but you need to look into his heart, right, Rethugs?"

by Anonymousreply 70February 27, 2019 2:15 PM

Gym Jordan is sweating like a ho in church. Nervous little fucker.

by Anonymousreply 71February 27, 2019 2:15 PM

From Cohen's statement:

[quote]Mr. Trump directed me to find a straw bidder to purchase a portrait of him that was being auctioned at an Art Hamptons Event. The objective was to ensure that his portrait, which was going to be auctioned last, would go for the highest price of any portrait that afternoon.

Some people are saying that the artist said Trump himself paid for the portrait, which may be true, but on Twitter Trump bragged that he "just found out" the portrait went for a large amount of money, implying someone else purchased it. Haha. Loser.

by Anonymousreply 75February 27, 2019 2:17 PM

Of course they will, R99. And then there's always Chelsea and her children they can go after!

by Anonymousreply 102February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

They're still pissy about FDR, R99, so I'll say yes.

by Anonymousreply 103February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 104February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 105February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

Much like HIS president.

by Anonymousreply 106February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

Jordan sounds like an episode of Faux News. HILLARY. ALL HILLARY’S fault.

by Anonymousreply 107February 27, 2019 2:25 PM

I almost feel sorry for Cohen.

by Anonymousreply 108February 27, 2019 2:26 PM

So Jordan's boyfriend... how old is he?

by Anonymousreply 109February 27, 2019 2:26 PM

Cohen has a legal defense fund lol. He's worth like $20 million still.

by Anonymousreply 110February 27, 2019 2:27 PM

Jim Jordan, the ticket supplier for Kim Davis, is an odd duck.

by Anonymousreply 111February 27, 2019 2:28 PM

I like Jordan is acting as though no one in human history who has lied attempts to correct their lies for whatever reason. Why on earth would he be there? For "Hillary"? "Obama"? Right-wingers are so visceral in their hate that it renders them stupid in their excuses.

There are Deplorables on Twitter saying Hollywood provided Mueller with a script to give to Cohen to use for his testimony, as part of a large Democratic conspiracy to take down Trump.

Holy mother of god, people are stupid.

by Anonymousreply 171February 27, 2019 2:53 PM

BAM! Don Jr is a stupid ass.

by Anonymousreply 172February 27, 2019 2:53 PM

Cohen: I'm sorry for lying to the American public when they needed the truth the most.

by Anonymousreply 173February 27, 2019 2:53 PM

R171 lol. They don't know how to write compelling testimony. "It's gotta be Hollywood. No way a lawyer like Davis could draft that." lol.

by Anonymousreply 174February 27, 2019 2:54 PM

I definitely don't buy he wrote this himself but who the fuck cares? Spillin' the goods!

by Anonymousreply 175February 27, 2019 2:54 PM

R171, those red hats are essentially a Scarlet letter. It's an admittance of their stupidity.

Yashar Ali:

Scooplet: Longtime Trump aide Lynne Patton (who now serves as a HUD official) is attending hearing as a guest of Rep. Mark Meadows. Sources say Patton will sit behind Meadows during hearing. Patton, who is black, may do press to push back against testimony that Trump is racist.

by Anonymousreply 180February 27, 2019 2:56 PM

Don Jr is hawt with his new beard. Probably stupid but he is the hawt Trump.

by Anonymousreply 181February 27, 2019 2:56 PM

Lawyers routinely draft statements like this, duh. It's just a compelling integration of what they've told the lawyer. Perfectly normal.

by Anonymousreply 182February 27, 2019 2:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 273February 27, 2019 3:28 PM

by Anonymousreply 274February 27, 2019 3:28 PM

Fuck off r236

by Anonymousreply 275February 27, 2019 3:28 PM

No R264, I already knew Trump was a racist, egomaniacal philanderer. All major businessmen and politicians are just like this. I am not surprised, and I have heard all this about Trump specifically. What did Cohen add? I worked in the loan industry, I can't tell you how many people inflate their assets to get loans and then deflate them to save money on taxes. Regular people and I am amazed how they get away with this. I don't doubt for a second that people as wealthy as Trump create fiction for their tax returns.

R267, I believe that - which is why I am disappointed. I want to know THAT STUFF.

by Anonymousreply 276February 27, 2019 3:28 PM

by Anonymousreply 287February 27, 2019 3:33 PM

I am really impressed w Cohen. He is firm, and admits his mistakes.

I don’t think the Rethugs are being successful at the credibility angle. But I guess if you are a maga, then maybe it is working.

by Anonymousreply 288February 27, 2019 3:33 PM

I know that Cohen was a despicable shit when he was working for Trump, and is only being honest now because he has no choice, but he's coming over pretty well here IMO.

by Anonymousreply 289February 27, 2019 3:33 PM

Really R279 and 281?? What about this is new information? Did you have a higher opinion of Trump that Cohen has suddenly tarnished? Is this so SHOCKING? I was thinking more direct info about Russia collusion (which I thought he might allude to since he can't speak on it directly) or other illicit transactions. Not about racist comments and payoffs to Stormi Daniels, which I already knew about.

by Anonymousreply 290February 27, 2019 3:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 331February 27, 2019 3:47 PM

R306 it also validates what rational people saw with their own eyes and heard with their own ears. It reaffirms and validates our revulsion to Trump and his mob family. The GOP has tried for two years to drown out this kind of discussion. I welcome it, and fuck anyone in the cult. They're lost.

by Anonymousreply 332February 27, 2019 3:47 PM

Ok R317 you got me, I am a Trump insider troll. You are SO SMART!!

And I never said this was unimportant and useless, in fact, I think nothing is more important than due process. I just said that, for me, I am disappointed. I wanted more. I knew all this about Trump because I read a lot. Try it some time.

by Anonymousreply 333February 27, 2019 3:47 PM

R325 I find it odd that he even went there with the threats... pretty sure it's illegal for them to do so anyway, with FERPA and all.

by Anonymousreply 334February 27, 2019 3:47 PM

[quote]I don’t think this will change much with the base but it may have a soft effect. In any event I agree as upthread: this will alienate enough independent and soft Republicans to harm his standing in the next vote.

Hopefully this will carryover down ballot.

by Anonymousreply 335February 27, 2019 3:48 PM

Who gives a fuck about Trump's tax returns?

RELEASE THE SAT SCORES!!!

by Anonymousreply 336February 27, 2019 3:48 PM

Absolutely, R332. I saw some of the 538 livebloggers get irritated at Cohen bringing up things that weren't illegal, like contacting the schools, but I felt that it went a long way toward validating rumors we've heard for years AND explaining the character of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 337February 27, 2019 3:49 PM

[Quote] Will those schools that were threatened by Cohen now say fuck it and release Trump's academic records?

Can universities actually do that? One would think that's private info, regardless of whose records they are.

by Anonymousreply 338February 27, 2019 3:49 PM

It really is true that Republicans look like total idiots knowing full-well this man has already lost everything, but pretending he's doing this for anything other than trying to regain even a semblance of dignity. Mentioning "Clintons" and "Laney" is so low rent and desperate.

by Anonymousreply 339February 27, 2019 3:49 PM

any semblance*

by Anonymousreply 340February 27, 2019 3:50 PM

[quote]Will those schools that were threatened by Cohen now say fuck it and release Trump's academic records?

They can't. And, that was what was so funny about the Obama whatever. It's against the law to release anyone's grades unless given a specific written release from the person.

by Anonymousreply 341February 27, 2019 3:50 PM

We've heard it all before. He is not a credible witness. What good does this do?

by Anonymousreply 342February 27, 2019 3:50 PM

“None of this will change a Trump supporter one iota.” The justice system is not a popularity contest

by Anonymousreply 343February 27, 2019 3:50 PM

Most Trump voters don't even know what SAT scores are!

by Anonymousreply 344February 27, 2019 3:50 PM

In their efforts to impeach his credibility and his character, the Republicans are stupidly reinforcing what a scurrilous bastard Donald Trump is whom he worked for for ten years. If he is such a slimeball, how come Trump kept him for ten years? BEcause Trump is a bigger slime ball.

by Anonymousreply 345February 27, 2019 3:52 PM

I wish someone would have told Cohen to just pull the Rethug tactic of stalling and just responding, "I don't recall."

by Anonymousreply 346February 27, 2019 3:52 PM

Did the GOP choose every stereotypical old, southern and midwestern douche to be on this committee to defend the elitist, racist NYer born on third?

by Anonymousreply 351February 27, 2019 3:53 PM

So....they keep bringing up Tom Steyer and Lanny Davis.....

by Anonymousreply 352February 27, 2019 3:53 PM

Whoa, they are determined to make this about Hillary. Going after Lanny Davis who is a passionate Hillary confidante! LOLOL! The Republicans aren't concerned with anything except trying to spin this for their base. Throwing Hillary in the mix, going after Cohen's consulting contracts, etc. The conspiracy theorists are alive and well.

by Anonymousreply 353February 27, 2019 3:54 PM

Scumbags, all.

by Anonymousreply 354February 27, 2019 3:54 PM

Cohen saying, "Thank you," was classic.

Yay Mr. Lynch. You tell 'em!!!

by Anonymousreply 363February 27, 2019 3:56 PM

I so want Michael Cohen to lose it a little and to shoot back at the GOP members when they talk about his oath, that they too swore an oath...to the country

by Anonymousreply 364February 27, 2019 3:56 PM

You misunderstood him, R357. He's saying that it was pathetic for the Repugs to put that out because by law the schools CAN'T release the grades.

Oh good analysis from BBC News. Nice break.

by Anonymousreply 371February 27, 2019 3:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 372February 27, 2019 3:58 PM

The Lynch comments are a definite highlight AND succinct enough to be a sound bite. The media needs to play and replay that bit.

by Anonymousreply 373February 27, 2019 3:58 PM

I keep hoping Cohen will respond to one of the Republican pigs on that committee that he's there because he no longer has any reason to continue protecting the POTUS, but THEY ALL HAVE A VERY GOOD REASON TO CONTINUE PROTECTING HIM, the reputation of the GOP and their desire to keep their hold on the Senate.

by Anonymousreply 374February 27, 2019 3:59 PM

by Anonymousreply 415February 27, 2019 4:08 PM

Times: This is going to be a memorable moment from this hearing. Cohen is essentially warning House Republicans that they are like him, he was once like them. And they too could be liars for the president.

Wow, Cohen is really bringing it.

You catch on quick since that's my point. He's the one who actually looks down on them. He's the actual elitist, sweetheart, from the day he was born handed everything in life and yet those same "hicks" all gravitated to him because he played to their own, insular worldview.

I don't think there's anything stupider than acting like everyone in Hollywood didn't have a fucking job. They were just born dripping in Harry Winston jewelry. Grow up, you rube. Your simplistic ideas of who is "elitist" and "liberal" is so pathetic. When liberal Hollywood is voting Dem and Trump is voting Rep, you think that's about the common man in Des Moines?

I've never seen Cooper from (D)-TN. I must go investigate. I feel like his questioning was purposeful in a passive way that allowed Cohen to character assault Trump.

R450 yeah watching that testimony I felt really bad for Cohen for some reason. Comey I didn't like his firing, but Cohen seems like someone who just left an abusive relationship.

by Anonymousreply 454February 27, 2019 4:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 460February 27, 2019 4:23 PM

R444, It was totally gratuitous.

Who do you think needs to be persuaded on that panel, re: Cohen's credibility? Both Parties know he's telling the truth.

And the opinions of the Great Unwashed are irrelevant.

This hearing may be televised, but it's not a TV program.

by Anonymousreply 461February 27, 2019 4:23 PM

Any confirmation of the pee tape?

by Anonymousreply 462February 27, 2019 4:24 PM

Cohen calling out the Repugs for covering for Trump was pure gold.

by Anonymousreply 463February 27, 2019 4:24 PM

Cohen did like so many others who were not particularly brilliant enough on their own to make it to the big leagues. He found himself eventually in a position of affluence mainly through luck, not talent. with Trump he allowed himself to get locked into a standard of life, even though it meant doing some really bad things. He eventually saw what he was involved with but was unable, or unwilling to get himself out of it because that would mean a reduction in his standard of living. And it all eventually went to hell, as it usually does with people like him who are basically way out of their league.

He truly has nothing to lose at this point. And that scares the every loving JEBUS out of the GOP.

by Anonymousreply 466February 27, 2019 4:25 PM

Why wouldn't you, R436? You genuinely have to be an idiot not to believe him. I said it before Cohen himself said it: There is no reason to protect someone who turns on you without a single second to think about it. Cohen has lost everything and going to prison and he was defending Trump even after he left the WH, so the pathetic attempt by Jordan to claim it was over being fired or whatever nonsense Jordan was claiming is fucking preposterous on so many levels.

Trump is George Costanza pushing women and children out of the way when the kitchen caught fire. He is a selfish pile of shit.

by Anonymousreply 467February 27, 2019 4:25 PM

[quote]Times: Chris Christie notes on ABC that no Republicans have tried to defend the president on the substance of the accusations, and says “I think that’s something that should be concerning to the White House.”

Yup. I posted basically the same thing up thread. I suppose that you cannot defend the indefensible.

by Anonymousreply 468February 27, 2019 4:25 PM

r435 you may be blocking the same trolls I block. I see gaps in the number sequence; I doubt I'm missing anything. It's been evident for awhile that if the GOP were completely innocent, they'd sit back without interfering and watch the yolks on the Democrats' faces stream down. Instead those rumoured to have shady backgrounds and shameful secrets think the louder and fiercer they protest and obstruct, the more innocent the party must be.

by Anonymousreply 469February 27, 2019 4:26 PM

Goddamn that pathetic cretin Foxx bitch is up. All she's done is copy questions from all the other GOP scumbags before her. Stupid old whore.

by Anonymousreply 470February 27, 2019 4:27 PM

R466, don't post things from that creepy site. We don't feel like getting infected with foreign malware. Creepy. almost block-worthy.

Find the story from a reputable site. Jeeze.

by Anonymousreply 471February 27, 2019 4:27 PM

Me. Foxx is missing a few essential marbles. Who elects such stupid people?

by Anonymousreply 472February 27, 2019 4:27 PM

Why should he commit to not making money when they all do? It's so stupid.

by Anonymousreply 474February 27, 2019 4:27 PM

Seems like the preponderance of questions are from Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 475February 27, 2019 4:28 PM

That Foxx woman is useless. How gerrymandered is her NC district?

by Anonymousreply 476February 27, 2019 4:29 PM

Someone gag Jordan.

by Anonymousreply 477February 27, 2019 4:29 PM

R475, do you see the problem with what you wrote?

by Anonymousreply 478February 27, 2019 4:30 PM

HAHAHAHA. Cohen calling them out for not asking a single question about Trump.

He really is smarter than I thought he was.

by Anonymousreply 479February 27, 2019 4:30 PM

And once again he pisses Gym off.

by Anonymousreply 480February 27, 2019 4:30 PM

There you go! BOOM!

by Anonymousreply 481February 27, 2019 4:30 PM

"I find it interesting that not one question so far has been asked about Mr. Trump.... The American people don't want to learn about my taxes."

by Anonymousreply 482February 27, 2019 4:31 PM

Connolly calling them off for trying to silence him and not allowing the truth to get out.

by Anonymousreply 483February 27, 2019 4:31 PM

Connolly looks like a famous person, but I can't put my finger on who...

by Anonymousreply 484February 27, 2019 4:31 PM

God, this is awesome.

Lock them all up!

by Anonymousreply 485February 27, 2019 4:32 PM

Too much Jordan, r478.

by Anonymousreply 486February 27, 2019 4:32 PM

Gym doesn't wear a suit jacket because he's a Man of the People.

by Anonymousreply 487February 27, 2019 4:32 PM

Just give us the signed check, Mike. We don't want to hear how sorry you are for helping your cunt boss get elected President.

by Anonymousreply 488February 27, 2019 4:32 PM

R484, he looks like Tom Hanks as Sully

by Anonymousreply 489February 27, 2019 4:32 PM

Gym doesnt wear a jacket because it makes it too difficult for him to fist the wrestlers .

by Anonymousreply 490February 27, 2019 4:34 PM

Connolly is smart. He’s framing this as a mob investigation, with Cohen as a witness against his old mob boss.

by Anonymousreply 491February 27, 2019 4:34 PM

They laughed at his plaid jacket but he looked good in it.

Maggie Haberman White House Correspondent 12:35 PM ET Cohen is now getting asked questions about meetings involving Jay Sekulow and the president about his impending testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in the spring of 2017.

“He wanted me to cooperated. He also just wanted to insure…there is no Russia, there is no collusion, there is no deal, he goes, ‘It’s all a witch hunt. This stuff has to end,’” Cohen recalls Trump saying.

Where Rep. Connolly is going with this is suggesting that Trump, in the presence of one of his lawyers, Jay Sekulow, indicated that Cohen should tell congress that there was no Russia deal.

Nicholas Fandos Nicholas Fandos Congressional Correspondent 12:36 PM ET Cohen is echoing his opening remarks here, with some of the same ambiguity. Cohen is essentially saying that Trump conveyed to him his desire for Cohen to lie but did not say it explicitly.

by Anonymousreply 494February 27, 2019 4:37 PM

[Quote]He really is smarter than I thought he was.

Same. I'm rather shocked at how quick witted Michael Cohen is and how easily he can outsmart the GOP congressmen.

by Anonymousreply 495February 27, 2019 4:37 PM

R495 it's a combination of him being quick and also not willing to take shit.

by Anonymousreply 496February 27, 2019 4:38 PM

[quote]HAHAHAHA. Cohen calling them out for not asking a single question about Trump. He really is smarter than I thought he was.

He's no dummy and, being a lawyer, he knows some good verbal aikido moves.

by Anonymousreply 497February 27, 2019 4:39 PM

I personally don't think Cohen's smart. The GOP congressmen are just plain stupid.

by Anonymousreply 498February 27, 2019 4:40 PM

[quote]Same. I'm rather shocked at how quick witted Michael Cohen is and how easily he can outsmart the GOP congressmen.

Looks like he's decided to tell the truth. That helps.

by Anonymousreply 499February 27, 2019 4:40 PM

I love how Michael shows he's willing to fuck with them, "Are you offering to?"

It's exactly part of his behavior that makes him a slimy asshole but I'm all for him using it against the Rethugs.

by Anonymousreply 500February 27, 2019 4:40 PM

Also, Cohen hasn’t anything to lose anymore. He can speak freely, and in many ways, to many people.

by Anonymousreply 501February 27, 2019 4:41 PM

Who are the two old men sitting behind Cohen? Anyone know?

by Anonymousreply 502February 27, 2019 4:41 PM

Are you sure the GOP congressmen aren't playing dumb? They have to outsmart their constituents to get (re-)elected. I like to think they're lickers of tiny mushrooms because they're afraid of being in more shit, not because "hurrr durrr he's our leader and even though I is smurt and feel shame when I am sober I must support my party no matter what treason and evil it does besides trickle-down economics Jesus will forgive me hurrr durr."

by Anonymousreply 503February 27, 2019 4:41 PM

Mr. Higgins - looks like something out of Deliverance.

by Anonymousreply 504February 27, 2019 4:41 PM

Cohen may not have a great law pedigree, but he is a smart guy, and he's got that innate New York bravado fueling his responses. And it's working well for him.

by Anonymousreply 505February 27, 2019 4:42 PM

I think the Republican's look like mean bullies here. It's like they are kicking the sick dog on his way to the pound.

by Anonymousreply 506February 27, 2019 4:42 PM

The old guy on the right has had a major spray tan for his appearance on TV.

by Anonymousreply 507February 27, 2019 4:42 PM

That question Higgins asked failed - he wasn't expecting Cohen to state they had been returned to him after they'd already gone through them --- and so he just repeated his ridiculous comment.

by Anonymousreply 508February 27, 2019 4:42 PM

Higgens was a moron. "Why do you still have boxes of documents." "Because the authorities gave them back to me."

AL THESE REPIGS ARE FUCKING LAUGHABLE !

by Anonymousreply 514February 27, 2019 4:44 PM

Yes, R511. One of them is very famous (the one on your left) — Lanny Davis.

by Anonymousreply 515February 27, 2019 4:45 PM

I hope Cohen is as sincere and truthful as he seems to be. I do love a good redemption arc.

by Anonymousreply 516February 27, 2019 4:45 PM

Really, R152? An accent????

by Anonymousreply 517February 27, 2019 4:45 PM

I'll say it again. I REALLY hate these fucking republicans. I'm glad Cohen said "you're doing the same now that I used to do"

so basically the repub and Fox "News" plan is to say nothing Cohen says is believable because he's a convicted liar

by Anonymousreply 518February 27, 2019 4:45 PM

[Quote] It's like they are kicking the sick dog on his way to the pound.

Again, Cohen is not some victim. He's doing one good thing, but he's not a "good guy".

by Anonymousreply 519February 27, 2019 4:46 PM

The Repubs keep going back to Cohen's character. I wish he would simply address it by saying, "I was a lawyer in New York City representing Donald Trump. Of course i was sleazy. Anybody else would have been so too"

by Anonymousreply 520February 27, 2019 4:46 PM

You just know those crackers harping on Davis want to remind the Deplorables that he's another Jeeeeewwww.

by Anonymousreply 521February 27, 2019 4:46 PM

May I say something to the rubes on the committee pathetically defending Trump's "honor" by going off about what a snake lawyer and low-life Cohen is?

Those are the very reasons he was HIRED by Trump.

Trump doesn't do filet mignon with shaved truffle deals. He does expensive steak doused in $2.35 Heinz ketchup. His money is made in the most low rent ways and he can't use a "classy" law firm to do his sleazy deals.

by Anonymousreply 522February 27, 2019 4:46 PM

How long is he going to prison for?

So why is he doing this? I mean, besides that he’s a dimwit.

by Anonymousreply 541February 27, 2019 4:51 PM

R560, Didn't Mikey mention the "9000 lies" of Trump?

by Anonymousreply 573February 27, 2019 5:00 PM

Michael Cohen has made some terrible business decisions.

Owned 200 NYC taxi medallions worth one million each at one time, now worth less than $100,000.

In 2003, Cohen invested $1.5 million to own a 30% stake in a Florida riverboat casino. That casino went bust after just a few months.

by Anonymousreply 574February 27, 2019 5:00 PM

[quote]These dudes ranting about Mikey's "foreign contracts" had better understand the nature of that beast

They're pathetically trying to make him bigger than he is. Cohen was a two-bit, tri-state area lawyer with shady dealings - that was his appeal to Trump. Look, NYC is an immigrant town, much of Trump's money is made from immigrant dealings. Those immigrants who come here and get wealthy, mention (shady) deals that could be made with Trump in their home countries. Trump hears "money" and that's enough.

I know this is going to sound weird, but Trump isn't "white" like you people who worship him in the Midwest/South. He doesn't buy into your mom and apple pie bullshit, but you think he does. He doesn't understand you people.

Whooo! He killed with his answers to the questions about Sader.

Rep. Amash from Michigan might be one of the few decent Republicans in Congress.

These former military need to understand you swear an oath to defend the Constitution, not the fucker in the WH.

Sorry, but I'd book a room at the motel with Cohen for a PNP session. No fisting but I'd def bring the disco lights... Legs up...

by Anonymousreply 610February 27, 2019 5:56 PM

Yeah, Michael Cohen is a liar but the more the slimey GOP House Members attack him, the more sympathy I feel for him.

I’m not a huge AOC fan but she really had one of the best lines of questioning.

R212 Well done weave versus cheap, tacky wig. Doesn't matter when it's on top of trash. They're both trash. The well done weave helped Trump get elected.
