My mother was gorgeous, the spitting image of Botticelli's Venus. Unfortunately my dad resembled a young Rod Stewart.
My mother was gorgeous: she was always compared to Liz Taylor. My Dad was very handsome. My next-door neiighbour stopped by the other day, and I showed him a photo of my parents' wedding photo, and he just gave a wide grin and said, "Man, your parents were beautiful". That they were. I'm not that bad looking, but I know I don't compare to them.

My mother had beautiful Latina classic features, a big rack, square shoulders, and a smokin’ body. My dad was a much older but hot ex-Navy guy who had married four times before, twice to his first wife.
Dad died when I was 11, Mom still attracts old guys and lesbians at age 85.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 21, 2019 7:15 AM |
My mother was, tall and slim but some curves. Both her parents were good looking. My father's side of the family is a bit on the plain side, but not homely.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 21, 2019 7:20 AM |
Yeah, I would say so. My dad still is handsome, but especially when he was a young soldier discharged from military service, he had to beat the women off with a club. Classic Italian looks of that era ⸺ many on DL would probably dig him.
My mom bears an uncanny resemblance to Talia Shire in her better photos. Same personality, too. Quiet, maybe what you might call a little mousy. Heart of gold.

My Mum has always been pretty, but doesn't seem to realise it, and she has aged well despite menopausal weight gain. My Dad is somewhat average in the looks department, and isn't very tall, and definitely looks his age, which I think is emphasised by his thin frame. My brother takes after our Dad while I look more like our Mum, but apparently I'm even closer in looks and attitude to my maternal Grandmother who was tall, aloof and glamorous.

Both my parents were probably 7s. I firmly believe that people of comparable attractiveness end up together.
I was adopted and didn't get much in the looks department. If I were my parents' natural child, I probably would have been better looking.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 21, 2019 12:21 PM |

Both my parents were incredibly good looking. I love looking a photos of them. He looked like a cross between Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart, and she just was gorgeous. Can't think of a movie star who quite captured her look. They also really loved each other to the end. Stayed true to each other for 41 years. And they laughed all the time with each other. It was genuinely great to grow up around them.

My parents had both lived more than half their lives by the time I met them...not easy lives, so I don't know if they were attractive when they were much younger. My mother had, had six children and not much to eat. My father had drank a lot of moonshine and used tobacco. Appilachia at it's best.

My parents grew up during the Depression and married right after WWII ended, so it reflects the way they looked then. My dad looked like Bing Crosby and my mother was a dead ringer for Ingrid Bergman.
And the church they got married in was called St. Mary's. It was remarked upon at the time.

My mom was annoyingly adorable. Was compared to Heather Locklear, but IMO, she was prettier and had naturally dark hair, with the blue eyes. She was also tiny, 5'1, 90lbs, but with a body on her.
My dad was good looking in a boyish way, with large dark eyes. Reminds me of Larry Hagman actually, in build, face shape, and the boyishly good looks.
If I had to rate them, both were at least a 7 (if 10 is considered stunning). Depends on taste though, because they both skewed cute good looking, over the oozing sexuality out of their pores type of hot.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 21, 2019 8:19 PM |
My mom was queen of the St Patrick's day parade at age 17. My dad in his early days looked like Matt Smith (Price Phillip on The Crown). They had three sons - the oldest looked like her, the middle one like him, and I look like the milkman.

yes, my mother was extremely beautiful and my biological father was probably in the top 2 or 3 best looking in his class. They were high school sweethearts but had me as teenagers so it didnt work out for them long term. They both had very high sex drives too which I seem to have inherited and its made my life more complicated/

oh, you're going to love my post, then!!
My dad looked like a young Burt Reynolds and my mom was a dead ringer for Vanessa Redgrave. She was a model and worked with photographers like David Bailey in the 60s while she was in grad school. Her genes in particular are strong - she is in her late 70s now and her bone structure and skin are in phenomenal shape.
They were a hot couple but incredibly narcissistic. And ended up being absolutely terrible parents.
And yep! my brothers and I benefited mightily from their particular DNA mix. it *DOES* happen.

My mother certainly thought so.
She was always talking about how attractive she was...still does. When she eventually divorced my father when I was 10, I couldn't understand why all she could find was a creepy little nerd who lived off her.
I guess her "Attractiveness" didn't translate into actually being able to attract someone.
They eventually divorced too and she's ended up with an even creepier nerd who also gets financial perks.

Women would brazenly hit on my dad in front of me when I was younger. My dad is now 63 and still gets hit on. He works out like a fiend and has never let himself go.
My mom has always been beautiful and wrapped men around her finger. She can hustle like no one else when she wants to.
I consider myself lucky because I got a good mix of the two of them and didn't turn out fug.

My father, yes. I'm not exaggerating when I say he was an LA/NYC 9 or 10 when he was in his 20s.
My mom struggled with her weight, but based on photos, she was very pretty when young and thin. I can see why my dad fucked her.

My mother looked a bit like Shelly Winters, she was quite beautiful. She was about 5'5" and was a couple of pounds overweight later in life.
My father was extremely handsome and very large. 6'4" and about 240 when about I was born, pushing 280 when I was in high school. He had a Hulk Hogan type face look when he grew out a fu when older.
All my sisters were pretty stunning, which got them in trouble continually. My brother was good looking, imagine a young Al Pacino jacked and about 245.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 26, 2019 12:35 AM |
Truthfully, mine were lookers when they were young. Mom had blue eyes and wavy dark hair, and was quite the fashion plate. Dad looked like a movie star. My friends go gaga over pictures of them, especially my gay friends with pics of my dad, his Navy photos in particular. I have a picture of them from 1968 where they are dressed up to go out and she's pregnant with me. They look like a MAD MEN photo.
Mom got kind of chubby/mumsy the older she got, but dad worked out and kept in shape into his 70s. They were together until my mom died at 75. Dad made it to 82. I miss them! Oh, and yes, my siblings and myself are all attractive-ish.

by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 26, 2019 1:45 AM |
Yes, my parents were attractive, but not model quality or anything. Dad vaguely resembled Tony Orlando from Dawn or Jeff Goldblum, and mom- there were/are no Asian actresses I could compare her to- not enough samples. I look like a large economy version of my mom (I'm female), in the sense I'm taller and have a more athletic build (climbing, running, surfing)- to the point at family or friend gatherings, people mistake me for her and tell me that, "(Mom's name)- I haven't aged a day!". Sheesh.

My mother was very attractive in her 20s but she was a sun worshipper and aged quickly. Then had an unfortunate face lift.
My dad is objectively incredibly attractive. Looks like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. I’ve had way too many friends tell me how hot my dad is - going back to when I was like 10, which was creepy.

My grandfather was poor mountain folk, and my dad was the first to complete high school, but I have photos of all of them. They didn’t have indoor plumbing until the 50s, but you are wildly misrepresenting history.
But dad is very handsome, so I guess he got breaks because of his looks and charm. He didn’t understand how intelligent he was (dyslexic) because teachers thought he was stupid, but his ingenuity is still amazing.
Then again it might be grit and tenacity over intelligence!
I won the genetic lottery.

Mother looked very Irish with both of her parents' grey-blue eyes, extremely fair skin, and a few freckles. Maternal grandmother adopted her husband's vaguely British-Continental accent "to pass." Grandma was 4'9", her husband not much taller, my mother 5'2". I'm taller than my 4 older sisters at 5'4".
Mother would have been considered more attractive if she didn't spend her life believing a woman's body should be completely covered up with baggy, old-fashioned dresses no makeup, and beyond frumpy wigs. Husband was 13 years older, and had even more outdated views re women not looking like whores. Nail polish was absolute taboo as was red lipstick. I'm the only one in my family who wears either.
Mom gained a lot of weight after having 5 kids despite being a vegetarian. She lived in separate states from her husband my entire life due to his employment. Bizarre marriage. She never dated after his death when I was 14 as she still looked extremely frumpy. Wanted her 5 daughters to look the same way, as she believed men only care what you look like on the inside. Sisters dated & married total nerds. I rebelled.

Yes, they were attractive and had outgoing personalities. My mom looked a bit like Julie Andrews and my dad was more like Dean Martin with dark hair. My mother was devastated when Natalie died.

My mother was the only child of affluent parents and as such had a private income that exceeded the generous salary my father made. She used this money on herself and spent a bit on putting her older children through university and professional school. She wasn't all that good looking but was able to garb herself in amazing, dramatic clothes and spent a lot of money so her hair was always perfect. People always used words like dazzling and striking, not beautiful. She mostly lived on alcohol, cigarettes and cottage cheese and I realize now that she was borderline anorexic, and the slender effect was magnified because she was over six feet tall. In retrospect I suspect she looked like a drag queen. I definitely remember her wearing a turban and caftan in the early sixties.
