by Anonymousreply 191February 25, 2019 9:32 PM

No. Just no.

by Anonymousreply 1February 20, 2019 10:42 AM

Oy. Once again the dp aims to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

by Anonymousreply 2February 20, 2019 10:45 AM

He's tenacious!

by Anonymousreply 3February 20, 2019 10:51 AM

I do not want this misogynist to be the Democratic nominee.

by Anonymousreply 4February 20, 2019 10:52 AM

If this guy becomes the nominee, will go for the Starbucks guy.

No more Putty Poop Puppets! Enough of that.

by Anonymousreply 5February 20, 2019 10:54 AM

r5 Why don'y you just cut to the chase and vote for Trump. Why go through a third party?

by Anonymousreply 6February 20, 2019 10:59 AM

Time for dems to rally around Harris

by Anonymousreply 7February 20, 2019 11:00 AM

I imagine Warren will prevent him from getting too far in the primaries.

by Anonymousreply 8February 20, 2019 11:01 AM

Trump already had it in the bag. Americans are back to shitting bricks when they hear the word Socialism.

by Anonymousreply 9February 20, 2019 11:01 AM

Vlad! Welcome back! What’s it been, 10 minutes??

by Anonymousreply 10February 20, 2019 11:03 AM

Bernie supporters are EXHAUSTING

by Anonymousreply 11February 20, 2019 11:50 AM

Biden will be the nominee.

by Anonymousreply 12February 20, 2019 12:24 PM

He looks decrepit. He is not a leader. What happened in 2016 was very ugly.

by Anonymousreply 13February 20, 2019 12:26 PM

I can live with that, r12

by Anonymousreply 14February 20, 2019 12:26 PM

Why even bother to vote if the choice is him or tRump?

by Anonymousreply 15February 20, 2019 12:30 PM

Good.

by Anonymousreply 16February 20, 2019 12:43 PM

Bernie Bros are saying if Bernie doesn’t get the nomination, they’ll vote for Trump in protest just like they did for Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 17February 20, 2019 1:01 PM

r17 Which means they're Trumpers from the very start, only there to cause mischief in the Dem primaries. Not a voting base you can ever count on when it matters the most. They're also often those with the least to lose, just like the independents.

by Anonymousreply 18February 20, 2019 1:18 PM

Exactly, r18.

by Anonymousreply 19February 20, 2019 1:51 PM

Source?

by Anonymousreply 20February 20, 2019 2:12 PM

Fuck R17 and fuck Bernie. Warren or Klobuchar or anybody else who is a bona fide Dem for me.
The Atlantic: Bernie Sanders Is the [bold]Democrat[/bold] Front-Runner

The Atlantic and OP are illiterate morons. The name of the Party is Democrat, not Democratic.

Um, no, r22.

by Anonymousreply 23February 20, 2019 2:17 PM

FFS, He Can't be the Democratic frontrunner. He's not a Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 24February 20, 2019 2:20 PM

by Anonymousreply 28February 20, 2019 5:28 PM

Been there done that. Fresh faces in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 29February 20, 2019 6:25 PM

I'm a registered democrat and do not want him to run as a primary candidate in my party. He's a registered independent. Let him run as one.

by Anonymousreply 30February 20, 2019 10:03 PM

R30: So you want Trump to win by Sanders splitting the vote? He clearly is running for President, best to do it in one of the only 2 parties that can win. You people need to get the hell over yourselves on this.. He'll be on my primary ballot when I vote for Warren, which is better than him on my General Election Ballot when I vote for Warren.

by Anonymousreply 31February 20, 2019 10:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 33February 20, 2019 11:45 PM

Thanks for weighing in from Volgograd, r33

by Anonymousreply 34February 20, 2019 11:48 PM

r33 you're too stupid to post here. NOBODY is buying your Russky bullshit, Boris.

by Anonymousreply 35February 20, 2019 11:51 PM

Mr. Berns doesn't have my support but is allowed to run as a third-party candidate, (not as a Democrat) and you're allowed to vote for him. The chooseth thee "lesser of two evils" is not serving the democratic process, not anymore. I'd gladly vote.*for a viable third party candidate but it won't be this man.

Also, I'm really sick of people who want to be president and in charge for no other reason than wanting to be center stage as POTUS.

EFF all of you!

by Anonymousreply 36February 21, 2019 12:04 AM

Bernie Sanders is neither a Democrat, nor a "Front-runner".

Sorry.

He's just yet another narcissistic mediocre old white guy who thinks he's the only answer to our problems. In so many ways, he's just the flip side of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 37February 21, 2019 12:07 AM

I'm not going to fight you, R33, I'm just going to F&F you for being a stupid troll.

by Anonymousreply 38February 21, 2019 12:08 AM

Bernie lost once and he's going to lose again.

Bernie just give it up!

by Anonymousreply 39February 21, 2019 12:11 AM

I can see Joe Biden being a front runner for the Democrats but not Bernie. Let's pick a REAL Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 40February 21, 2019 12:12 AM

Bernie will win! Americans want socialism .

by Anonymousreply 41February 21, 2019 12:12 AM

R37 that's what makes him so attractive.

by Anonymousreply 42February 21, 2019 12:15 AM

Lies, fairy tales and fallacies, Atlantic. People of color didn't vote for him in 2016 and won't do it in in 2020. Especially African Americans, the most dependable voters in the Democratic party.

by Anonymousreply 43February 21, 2019 3:33 AM

I wouldn't vote for this loser in a million years......Holy Geez---if this is the best we can do---we Dems don't deserve to win.....

by Anonymousreply 44February 21, 2019 3:37 AM

R43 You're joking, right??!!

by Anonymousreply 45February 21, 2019 3:37 AM

Americans do want democratic socialism so he has a chance of winning. There's a direct line from the OccupyWallStreet movement to Bernie Sanders. Millennials love him

by Anonymousreply 46February 21, 2019 3:41 AM

R45, not joking. Did you see his numbers among African Americans? He will lose the same primaries he lost in 2016 and then some.

by Anonymousreply 47February 21, 2019 3:55 AM

r43 you're #Stillwithering. Bernie is the most popular candidate among minority populations. I'd love to know what specific policies people don't like that Bernie promotes. He is essentially a New Deal Democrat. Don't say "he's old" and in the next breath say how much you love Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden. I'm old enough to remember when the democratic party actually cared about working people and the less advantaged and Bernie is a breath of fresh air. He's been in favor of gay rights since he was in public life as mayor of Burlington.

by Anonymousreply 48February 21, 2019 3:57 AM

R48, if you check out the stats that R32 posted from Harry Enten, Bernie's challenge is that he did very poorly in 2016 with many of the core voting blocs that make up the Democratic electorate.

In order to win the Democratic nomination, a candidate needs to perform well with African Americans, women, registered Democrats and older voters.

There's a more detailed analysis by Enten in his CNN article today:

by Anonymousreply 49February 21, 2019 8:04 AM

I wish Hillary would say fuck off to all the people who want her to just go away and run again.

by Anonymousreply 50February 21, 2019 8:13 AM

R48, you're delusional. Bernie is one of the LEAST popular candidates among minorities. Bernie's WHOLE THING is centering straight white men, claiming Trump supporters aren't racist, and dismissing women and black people as "low information voters". He's a fucking racist and sexist, a guy who in his entire 30 year career in politics never once hired a person of color, a guy who is constantly dismissive of women and contemptuous of women in power. He's a fucking nightmare when it comes to minorities, and THAT is why he got only single digit support from minorities in his race against Hillary (who got 90+ percent of their vote)

Stop trying to gaslight us. He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself, and other straight white dudes.

by Anonymousreply 51February 21, 2019 2:23 PM

R48, Bernie is not a breath a fresh air. He's an intellectually dishonest empty suit and fraud. He's stolen most of his ideas from Democrats, without attribution. Like Medicare for All... it's NOT a Bernie idea. John Conyers has been introducing a Medicare for All bill into Congress for more than a decade. Universal Health Care is in the Democratic Party Platform. Bernie is just warmed over old crap. I can't believe people are so ignorant and gullible as to fall for his schtick.

by Anonymousreply 52February 21, 2019 2:26 PM

Bernie Sanders is running for president again. This time, he’s a frontrunner.

Sanders is the most popular senator among constituents in America and consistently ranks among the top potential 2020 candidates in early polls.

Bernie is not a democrat. He will never be the parties nominee. He's also, obligatory, named in a mueller indictment, along with stein and trump, as a beneficiary of Russian aid in 2016

by Anonymousreply 70February 21, 2019 4:43 PM

R61, Kamala Harris isn't even liked by black voters. Her campaign is flopping. Even her own father came out to call her a liar. She's a phony and people can smell it.

Unless Biden jumps in, Bernie Sanders will remain the frontrunner. The DNC will probably beg Biden to jump in and save the day since they really don't want Bernie to be the nominee

by Anonymousreply 71February 21, 2019 10:33 PM

R71, I agree. I'd like to see Biden declare soon and mop up Dem dollars. The mistake the Republicans made in 2016 was that they waited too long to pick their horse, and so the far right picked one for them. Biden is not a perfect candidate, but the sooner he declares and Dems take control of his image, the better.

by Anonymousreply 72February 21, 2019 10:41 PM

I had assumed when he announced that he's running that he is doing so as an Independent. I don't understand how Bernie can run for the Democratic nomination if he isn't a registered Democrat. Would anyone care to explain?

Also, if he doesn't get the nomination, I fear that he will THEN splinter off and run as an Independent. His ego (and greed) will not allow him to exit the race, not this time.

by Anonymousreply 73February 21, 2019 10:47 PM

The Republicans won. They didn't make the mistakes.

by Anonymousreply 74February 21, 2019 11:06 PM
Trump already had it in the bag. Americans are back to shitting bricks when they hear the word Socialism.

😂 Where do people get this shit from?

by Anonymousreply 75February 21, 2019 11:07 PM

R75, I also don't know where these people are getting their news. Medicare for all and Free College are polling in super majority numbers. More and more Americans agree that the rich should be taxed higher and pay their share. These "socialist" issues are very popular now.

I think the Democrats will lose if they opt for centrist policies. More people will show up to vote if they feel their voices & interests are being heard. In 2016, IIRC, approximately 100 million people didn't vote for various reasons. But, I'm sure most of them felt they'd rather not show up and vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Look how popular AOC's policies are right now. The Democrats should stick to these "socialist" policies in order to win. That's my 2 cents.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 76February 21, 2019 11:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 80February 21, 2019 11:45 PM

R80, Americans will never experience it as long as Republicans are in charge.

by Anonymousreply 81February 21, 2019 11:47 PM

All anybody cares about is getting rid of the usurper.

You could run a mannequin at this point. It would win in a lanslide.

by Anonymousreply 82February 21, 2019 11:48 PM

I agree R82.

But, why settle for a "mannequin" when we can elect a really good candidate.

by Anonymousreply 83February 21, 2019 11:53 PM

How come the whole mannequin thing didn’t work in 2016?

by Anonymousreply 84February 21, 2019 11:55 PM

R84, that was a mannequin with factory defects. ha ha ha.

by Anonymousreply 85February 22, 2019 12:15 AM

Any one of the Democrats running would be a good President.

(not including Bernie or Tulsi)

by Anonymousreply 86February 22, 2019 12:19 AM

R85, The candidate that ran in 2016 was one of the best candidates to ever run.

That shows you just how invalid the election really was.

by Anonymousreply 87February 22, 2019 12:20 AM

Historically, in Democratic primaries, the one who raises the most money wins the nomination. That is Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 88February 22, 2019 12:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 104February 22, 2019 12:50 PM

by Anonymousreply 108February 22, 2019 1:03 PM

AOC isn’t running. Harris can win Arizona. It’s turning blue because of CA being priced out of CA. Southern blacks will be all in. Hillary couldn’t motivate Democrats to vote. Harris will. And she’ll have Obama’s eventual endorsement. Yes, Biden will not be Obama’s pick.

by Anonymousreply 111February 22, 2019 1:33 PM
That AOC person? Oh for crying out loud. So arrogant.

Arrogant perhaps, but very comfortably quartered.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., recently moved into a luxury apartment complex in Washington, D.C. that does not offer the affordable housing units that were a key plank in the New York congresswoman’s campaign platform.

Ocasio-Cortez, 29, who said in November that she was concerned about being able to afford rent in D.C., now earns a $174,000 annual salary and is living in a newly built high-rise in the city’s Navy Yard area,

But Ocasio-Cortez’s new building — built by leading D.C. developer WC Smith — is part of a luxury complex whose owners specifically do not offer affordable units under Washington, D.C.’s Affordable Dwelling Units program.

In 2018, a civil rights attorney sued the Washington, D.C. government for allegedly discriminatory gentrification policies, claiming that development in Navy Yard area and other parts of southeast D.C. encouraged an influx of affluent “millennial creatives” who displaced minority residents.

Ocasio-Cortez, commonly referred to as "AOC," repeatedly criticized luxury real estate developers during her campaign, claiming that their buildings hiked up rent prices and pushed low-income residents out of their neighborhoods.

We need to kick luxury real estate lobbyists to the curb and defend working people’s way of life,” Ocasio-Cortez said last March. “Skyrocketing cost of living is a national crisis that CAN be addressed. It’s not just an NYC issue - it’s happening in every US metro area.”

Ocasio-Cortez also promised not to take campaign contributions from luxury developers during her campaign. “It’s time we stand up to the luxury developer lobby,” she said in a speech last April. “Every official is too scared to do it - except me.”

Her new apartment complex — which boasts on its website that it vows to take "luxury apartment living" to a higher level — offers over 100,000 square feet of amenities for its residents.

These include: two private massage rooms with state-of-the-art hydrotherapy beds; men’s and women’s saunas; a full-scale demonstration kitchen with wood-fired pizza oven; a 25-meter indoor lap pool; a rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of the Capitol; a Peloton cycling studio with over a dozen bikes; and a fireside lounge featuring a Steinway & Sons player piano.

Also included is a PGA-grade golf simulation lounge with a wrap-around screen and viewing bar that allows residents to play virtually at dozens of the world’s most exclusive golf courses with the touch of a button. Last week, Democrats mocked President Trump for installing a new golf simulator at the White House — updating with his own money one originally installed by former President Barack Obama.

Apartments in the building currently start at $1,840 per month for a 440 square foot studio, and range up to $5,200 for a three-bedroom. The average rent in Washington D.C. is $1,340 for a one-bedroom apartment and $1,550 for a two-bedroom, according to the most recent data from Apartment List.

W. Christopher Smith, 66, the Annapolis-based CEO of WC Smith, is a Democratic donor who contributed to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and the Senate campaigns of Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-M.D., Sen. Mark Warner, D-VA., and Jane Raybould, who lost a 2018 Senate race in Nebraska.

Smith donated to Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., in 2017, and 11 employees of WC Smith gave $6,900 to the campaign of Muriel Bower, the Democratic mayor of D.C. In 2018, WC Smith's vice-president of communications Ann-Marie Bairstow gave over $1300 to Act Blue earmarked in small amounts — $100 or less — for various candidates, including $50 to Ocasio-Cortez.

Interspersed with his rape fantasies, which he very helpfully published for the world to see.

Bernie loses every state by historic percentages. Count on it. He's never actually been dragged through the mud before -- the Democrats need his preening douchebag millennial supporters too much so they treat him with kid gloves. Once he gets a spotlight shone on him HE IS DEAD.

We can always dream.

by Anonymousreply 123February 22, 2019 2:38 PM

r118, he and a Sandinista burned that flag moments after that picture was taken. That's why he's grinning.

by Anonymousreply 124February 22, 2019 2:39 PM

Bernie Sanders will be the first Jewish American president.

by Anonymousreply 125February 22, 2019 9:00 PM
Whites like gays the most, don’t forget that. Without whites, gays will cease to be.

It depends on what you mean by that.

Most whites vote Republican and therefore are not that friendly to gays.

And it is the white religious right (eg. Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Tony Perkins, etc.) who took over the Republican Party in the Reagan era and delayed legislative advancement for gays for years compared to other Western countries.

The group who are most opposed to gay marriage etc. are white religious Christians. (eg. see the Pew poll).

The group who are most pro-gay marriage in the U.S. are Jewish Americans. (eg. the Pew poll, etc.)

Whites. Like. Gays. The. Most. Period. End. Of. Story.

by Anonymousreply 127February 22, 2019 9:39 PM

Oh please that ol' queen will never be the nominee... check this post in 2 years!

by Anonymousreply 128February 22, 2019 9:43 PM
I’m amused anyone thinks that old gray relic will still be alive in 2020.

I wouldn't count on that.

There are a lot of much older political relics still here.

by Anonymousreply 129February 22, 2019 9:47 PM

Yes R129, but compare their faces-- BS looks like he is ready to pop at any second!

by Anonymousreply 130February 22, 2019 10:10 PM

He's a very old man.

by Anonymousreply 131February 22, 2019 10:14 PM

Daily Beast: Don’t Be Fooled. Bernie Can Win.

by Anonymousreply 132February 22, 2019 10:20 PM

The vile media. They're pumping Bernie up, only to tear him to shreds later on. Just watch.

by Anonymousreply 133February 22, 2019 10:23 PM

His time has come and gone. He was so effective in 2016, because Hillary was the perfect foil. She was vilified so much that Bernie looked bright and shiny.

by Anonymousreply 134February 22, 2019 10:28 PM

I doubt he will be the nominee but if he is all of you who say you will vote 3rd party or not vote are the reason we have Trump now and I hope all of you go straight to hell before the General Election. I hated Hillary's guts since the before B. Clinton was president but I sure as shit voted for her. Whoever the Democrat is those who don't vote for him or her are pure evil and I hope there is a way that only your lives can suck without taking the rest of us down with you.

by Anonymousreply 135February 22, 2019 10:49 PM

R134 makes a good point.

Part of Bernie's appeal in 2016 was that he was a contrast to Hillary who came across as too establishment, too centrist, too much of a policy wonk, etc.

With a wider variety of Democratic candidates running against him this year, he may not be as successful a contrast.

by Anonymousreply 136February 22, 2019 10:53 PM

R98 = Desperate Hillary-bashing Berner.

by Anonymousreply 137February 22, 2019 11:35 PM

Superstar. He's going to win it.

by Anonymousreply 138February 22, 2019 11:37 PM
Part of Bernie's appeal in 2016 was that he was a contrast to Hillary who came across as too establishment, too centrist, too much of a policy wonk, etc.

This annoys the fuck out of me. Hillary was every bit as liberal/progressive as Bernie (on many many issues, MORE progressive, on a few, more realistic). She was a fucking WOMAN, and he was an old straight white guy... he's far more "establishment" than her. And how the fuck can you be "too much of a policy wonk"? That's like saying "She was too competent... we want an imbecile for President"

by Anonymousreply 139February 22, 2019 11:38 PM
Part of Bernie's appeal in 2016 was that he was a contrast to Hillary who came across as too establishment, too centrist, too much of a policy wonk, etc.

There's only Bernie and Warren. The rest of the Dems are pale versions of Hillary. I was a Hillary supporter last time because she was the best the US could have.

I support Bernie this time because of his stance on Madura or Warren for her sensible economic plan.

They should team up.

by Anonymousreply 140February 22, 2019 11:41 PM

R140, if you support Bernie, you're delusional. He's awful. In every way it's possible to be awful. He's the last thing we need. If you support an empty-suit and racist/sexist fraud like him, then you never really supported Hillary and you're just trolling.

by Anonymousreply 141February 22, 2019 11:49 PM

The nom will go to Biden. He and Harris should team up. They are the ones who can win.

by Anonymousreply 142February 23, 2019 12:10 AM

Biden will never get the nomination (Iraq, Anita Hill, NAFTA, crime bill, etc, etc), and Harris is already DOA after Jussie, wanting to end private insurance and wanting to give blacks reparations. Bernie will get the nomination and it's anyone's guess from there. Trump will probably get a second term or Bernie will end up a 1 termer. America is fucked either way.

by Anonymousreply 143February 23, 2019 12:15 AM

R143, I'm not a big fan of Bernie, but we would not be "fucked" if he was President.

For starters, we need a Democratic President to stop the complete takeover of the Supreme Court. Ginsburg can't hold on much longer, and Breyer is also getting old. If you think a 5-4 Republican Court is bad, what do you think will happen if it becomes 7-2?

by Anonymousreply 144February 23, 2019 12:24 AM

Sanders would still have to deal with Congress and none of his shit would be implemented thus his base would go nuts, thus everything would go belly up.

by Anonymousreply 145February 23, 2019 12:25 AM

Bernie is the only one who can win back white males which is what the Democratic Party desperately needs.

Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Amy Klobuchar won't do it.

by Anonymousreply 146February 23, 2019 12:43 AM

If Bernie wins the presidency, the Congress and Senate would be Democrat and more than likely beholden to his agenda since Americans love it (socialism) so much.

Republican constituents screamed when McConnell and Ryan were trying to get rid of Obamacare. Imagine once Americans get single payer.

by Anonymousreply 147February 23, 2019 12:48 AM

Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) announced he is supporting Bernie Sanders.

(And it looks like DL fave Tyler Blackburn is, too).

by Anonymousreply 148February 23, 2019 12:56 AM

It's too soon to know, the primary is a year away.

by Anonymousreply 149February 23, 2019 1:06 AM
I'm not a big fan of Bernie, but we would not be "fucked" if he was President

Oh yes, we absolutely would be. How delusional do you have to be to not see something so obvious?

by Anonymousreply 150February 23, 2019 2:01 AM

I'm trying to decide if R146 is more racist, or more sexist.

Bernie has zero chance of winning. Z-E-R-O.

Hell, he'll probably die of old age, stroke, or heart-attack before the primary even starts, he's so goddamned old.

by Anonymousreply 151February 23, 2019 2:03 AM

Bernie is not even a Democrat. Let him run in the Socialist Party contest. He believes so much in socialism.

Bernie and AOC will assure a Trump reelection.

by Anonymousreply 152February 23, 2019 2:05 AM

Bernie supporters: we torpedoed Hillary’s run because she’s literally worse than Hitler and she would have been NO BETTER THAN TRUMP.

No better AT ALL:

by Anonymousreply 153February 23, 2019 2:08 AM

The Mueller report will knock Bernie out of the running.

by Anonymousreply 154February 23, 2019 2:10 AM

I’ll vote for him as long as he doesn’t eat salad with his comb.

by Anonymousreply 155February 23, 2019 2:15 AM

Bernie is a toxic fraud.

#neverbernie

by Anonymousreply 156February 23, 2019 3:01 AM
Oh yes, we absolutely would be. How delusional do you have to be to not see something so obvious?

You don't think Bernie would be better than Trump?

Do you want Trump to replace Ginsburg and Breyer if they die with 2 more right-wing judges?

Bernie is not perfect, but I'd rather he appoint judges instead of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 157February 23, 2019 3:14 AM

Let Trump pack the court. Let Roe v Wade get overturned. That would serve us right if we don't even bother to vote or vote for people with no chance of winning.

by Anonymousreply 158February 23, 2019 3:23 AM

Why do they think he’s the frontrunner?

(Sorry, I just rolled up and didn’t read any of the posts in this thread. What did I miss?)

by Anonymousreply 159February 23, 2019 3:47 AM

No he isn't. The right is hoping to build him up so he wind's up being the left's nominee at which point they'll unleash all the dirt they have on him making it easier for Trump to win. The PTB in the left need to destroy this asshole's candidacy before it gets to that point.

by Anonymousreply 160February 23, 2019 3:48 AM

Of course I would vote for Bernie over trump. I loathe Bernie but trump is a monster.

I would do this because I’m an adult, and civic-minded. I wouldn’t, for instance, vote for Jill Stein to demonstrate my anger that my preferred candidate wasn’t nominated.

by Anonymousreply 161February 23, 2019 4:23 AM

Let me point out though that Bernie would be destroyed in the general election. DESTROYED.

by Anonymousreply 162February 23, 2019 4:24 AM

No, he wouldn't be destroyed. There would be record millennial turnout for Bernie in the general election. 60% of 18-30 year olds wouldn't sit out an election for a change.

Really- all he'd need is to win the Rust Belt to beat Trump and I can see Bernie (or Biden) getting the Rust Belt over Kamala Harris

by Anonymousreply 163February 23, 2019 7:08 AM

Biden was relevant because of Obama. Without Obama, he was a failure candidate. He won’t win. Move on.

by Anonymousreply 164February 23, 2019 9:29 AM

R163 is delusional.

Team Kamala all the way.

by Anonymousreply 165February 23, 2019 9:31 AM

Either Biden-Beto or Biden-Kamala.

This election will be red in tooth and claw. Familiarity and Firebrand will be our Democratic ticket to victory.

by Anonymousreply 166February 23, 2019 11:56 AM

R146, Socialist Bernie from VT would "win back white males?! Bwahaha!

by Anonymousreply 167February 23, 2019 12:00 PM

Trump will win.

by Anonymousreply 168February 24, 2019 6:53 AM

The first New Hampshire Democratic Primary Poll since Sen. Bernie Sanders announced he’s running for president finds Sanders at a slight advantage with 27% of the vote,

former Vice President Joe Biden with 25%

and Sen. Kamala Harris at 12%.

No other candidate clears double digits.

by Anonymousreply 169February 24, 2019 8:53 AM

Omg.

by Anonymousreply 170February 24, 2019 9:01 AM

R169, it's not surprising that Bernie would have the edge in New Hampshire. He's from the Northeast and he beat Hillary in NH in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 171February 24, 2019 9:05 AM

Rape apologist and Russian asset Bernie is NOT a democrat. He is not a member of the Democratic Party. How people think that a not democrat will be the Democratic Party's nominee boggles the mind.

Biden has run 3 times for president. In this day and age, does anyone think his treatment of Anita Hill will benefit him?

Fantasies of old white men saving the Democratic Party from itself are beyond sad

by Anonymousreply 172February 24, 2019 9:10 AM

The Never-Bernies will be as successful as the Never-Trumpers. What a lot of wasted bluster.

by Anonymousreply 173February 24, 2019 9:41 AM

He would croak in office! He should have the common sense to step down.

by Anonymousreply 174February 24, 2019 9:51 AM

I'm not a big Bernie fan, but I don't get why people keep bringing up his age.

There are loads of older white guys still in office.

As I said above, Sen. Chuck Grasseley (R-IA) is 85 . I wish he would croak. He's the Senator who blocked Obama from appointing Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court.

by Anonymousreply 175February 24, 2019 9:59 AM

Hoping all this talk is irrelevant.

Trump and Pence are ousted before 2020 and Nancy takes over.

She kicks ass. The people like it. 2020 comes around - we’re all sick of all the upheaval of Trump, crooked McConnell and his GOP Putin-loving henchmen and the overwhelming reality of what the Mueller report exposes, so we all just vote to leave Nancy in the Oval Office in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 176February 24, 2019 12:10 PM

Obama wasn’t a front runner and became president.

by Anonymousreply 177February 24, 2019 12:12 PM

Sanders is going to win in 2020 so you all should be very happy about that - lmao.

by Anonymousreply 178February 24, 2019 1:10 PM

Bernie's incompetence and inability to get anything done and his natural talent for alienating people would just set back progress by a generation. He'd be used for generations as the proof that universal health care and environmentalism "don't work" because he'd fuck them up so bad.

HE'd continue the sexist & racist "straight-white-male-centering" policies and judicial appointments, and just plain fuck him and anyone dumb enough to support such a transparent fraud.

by Anonymousreply 179February 24, 2019 6:58 PM

But we're overanalyzing all of this too much.

We can't predict how a candidate is going to affect policies decades from now.

All that's relevant to figure out is which candidate can beat Trump in 2020. Anything after that is too far in the future to predict, unless you are Nostradamus.

by Anonymousreply 180February 24, 2019 8:55 PM

When Bernie wins in 2020, my suspicion is something horrible will happen — like another Pulse massacre. That, coupled with no free college and no UHC will do him in. Romney will run against him and people will yearn for a normalcy. No radicalism, etc and he will win. I’ll vote for Romney. I’ll vote Republican twice (2020 and 2024) until Democrats return to normalcy themselves. Which they will in 2031 when Democrats win the Presidency again. I’ll vote Democrat in 2031 if they have their acts together.

by Anonymousreply 181February 25, 2019 12:05 AM
Obama wasn’t a front runner and became president.

Obama however had the DNC with their thumbs on the scales against Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 182February 25, 2019 12:18 AM

It really is shocking how little Bernie has accomplished in office compared to, say, Amy Klobuchar, who has GOTTEN SHIT DONE. Yet the BernOuts deny this.

Sanders and all the rest of them will be rendered irrelevant once Beto enters the race, if he does indeed enter.

by Anonymousreply 183February 25, 2019 4:18 AM

It's looking more and more like Beto isn't going to enter the race.

by Anonymousreply 184February 25, 2019 4:40 AM

Bernie would actually use the bully pulpit unlike President Obama to pressure Congress and the American people to call and write letters to Congress and Senators who refuse to support his agenda. He wouldn't be terrified of being called commie or socialist by the right wing unlike Obama and 98% of other Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 185February 25, 2019 1:34 PM

Sanders is a democratic socialist in a sea of corporatists . Of course he wouldn't get as much bills passed. His ideas (cheaper prescription drugs for aging seniors, ending funding a vicious war and humanitarian crisis in Yemen) are apparently too radical to get passed. This doesn't matter because the majority of the American people support him on these ideas.

Sanders polls as the most popular Senator for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 186February 25, 2019 1:40 PM

R186, Trump will destroy him lol

by Anonymousreply 187February 25, 2019 2:01 PM

R187, I'm not so sure. Even his base (well, the poor conservatives in his base) like Bernie's ideas.

Trump would not like a debate with Bernie

by Anonymousreply 188February 25, 2019 3:21 PM

Bernie will win in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 189February 25, 2019 3:30 PM

I want to smoke your stuff R189
