Why is so much gay porn about seducing straight men?

It's like we want to give the right wing extra ammunition.

You've got studios like Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher "teaching" straight guys about how much fun gay sex can be.

You've got Men.com where the plot of most of their videos is "gay guy seduces a straight guy" (sometimes in front of a salad) or "two straight guys decide to try gay sex"

MyVidster and Pornhub are full of "straight college jocks seduced!" videos

And most of the stories on NIFTY are about sex with straight guys, seducing a straight buddy, used as a sex toy by a straight guy, etc.

Is is just that we want what we can't have? Do most guys believe that every straight guy can be converted?

Thoughts?

by Anonymousreply 228March 22, 2020 3:07 PM

Because no one loathes us more than we loathe ourselves.

by Anonymousreply 1February 15, 2019 10:32 PM

Nobody gives a shit what the right wing thinks and nobody should. They are a bunch of idiots who should all go die in a greasefire and the world would be a better place because of it.

by Anonymousreply 2February 15, 2019 10:35 PM

You mean like this, OP?

by Anonymousreply 3February 15, 2019 10:40 PM

No one finds flaming queens hot!

by Anonymousreply 4February 15, 2019 10:42 PM

But what if they were non-flaming guys who were also gay R4?

by Anonymousreply 5February 15, 2019 10:43 PM

It's a humanitarian instict.

by Anonymousreply 6February 15, 2019 10:47 PM

Because many gay men are horny and turned on by straight men. It’s a simple answer. If there was no market for it, they wouldn’t produce it.

by Anonymousreply 7February 15, 2019 10:50 PM

Heterosexuality is a choice, a sin, and a social construct invented by bigots to institutionalize the PIV-rape of women and the cockblocking of gay men.

Heterosexuality is rape, period.

by Anonymousreply 8February 15, 2019 10:54 PM

Heterosexuality is a form of treason to your own sex. It’s just another invention made to think men are entitled to women’s bodies.

by Anonymousreply 9February 15, 2019 10:55 PM

R8 and R9 have literally just murdered 20 million transmen of color with those posts.

by Anonymousreply 10February 15, 2019 11:03 PM

Not sure, don't really watch any of those "straight seduction" vids and think stuff like baitbus is incredibly gross and weird.

I will say videos labelled "str8" you find on the interweb will tend to have more appealing guys for me. It's not their perceived straightness, but their masculinity that's a turn on. Society says the two are inseparable-- so we often get told we're lusting after straight men when the truth is most of us just aren't into big nelly queens, especially not the feminine guys themselves.

Some get turned on by the abuse from hets they've internalized and the "trickery" thing though. That's very clear from the types of porn out there.

by Anonymousreply 11February 15, 2019 11:14 PM

Because men, gay or straight, are into rape at some level or getting something they think no one else is getting (a virgin, the best looking in the room, a straight guy, etc.).

Straight men like like "seducing" women out of their league and so do gay men. A straight guy is to a gay one like a virgin or lesbian woman is to a straight guy.

by Anonymousreply 12February 15, 2019 11:16 PM

To some people, things that are off limits and/or things they can't have are very attractive and compelling.

by Anonymousreply 13February 15, 2019 11:18 PM

Because gay men are perceived as effeminate and unmanly, even by gays

by Anonymousreply 14February 15, 2019 11:20 PM

Also, in regards to giving the right wing extra ammunition--- they'd have to be watching gay porn in the first place for that to be true. So who's really lusting after who?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 15February 15, 2019 11:20 PM

Straight and mostly straight dudes are perceived as more masculine, and therefore, much more attractive

by Anonymousreply 16February 15, 2019 11:21 PM

So what I'm hearing is that it's all about internalized homophobia, the notion that gay guys can't be anything other than nellie queens.

by Anonymousreply 17February 15, 2019 11:22 PM

OP, your "give the right wing extra ammunition" is the most pathetic gay-hating crap we've seen here in a while.

You're a troll or a woman, right, cunt?

by Anonymousreply 18February 15, 2019 11:24 PM

Maybe I'm a female troll R18

Or a transwoman troll of color

by Anonymousreply 19February 15, 2019 11:27 PM

R17 the dick wants what it wants mary!

by Anonymousreply 20February 15, 2019 11:27 PM

Straight men like to pretend we're far more intrigued by them than we are. It goes both ways in my experience. I've been hit on by as many "straight" identifying guys as I have gay ones. It drives them nuts when you don't give them the attention/reaction they want. I spend 0% of my day thinking about them and neither should you!

by Anonymousreply 21February 15, 2019 11:36 PM

Because like all of porn, it is a FANTASY. Turning a good looking straight man has been a classic gay porn fantasy since forever. Since gay porn started in the stone age when there were very few out gay men, it's evolved into straight Bus kind of stuff, or the classic military stuff. Whatever.

by Anonymousreply 22February 15, 2019 11:37 PM

Gay-identified men and their culture are just so fem and unmanly, which is not hot. At least most bi and straight guys act like men

by Anonymousreply 23February 15, 2019 11:38 PM

R23 Most bi and straight guys act like fiends, they're barely human. There is no monolithic gay culture.

by Anonymousreply 24February 15, 2019 11:41 PM

I thought that on Grindr everyone claimed to be "masc" R23? I don't use trashy apps so I wouldn't know. All those Instaho's who spend 4 hours a day in the gym are annoying AF but not fem or unmanly.

by Anonymousreply 25February 15, 2019 11:41 PM

It’s about conventional masculinity

by Anonymousreply 26February 15, 2019 11:56 PM

Maybe it's because at least there is a storyline? A lot of porn just jumps to the action without providing a hint of a story.

by Anonymousreply 27February 16, 2019 12:09 AM

But it's like a dog chasing its tail. Once a straight guy is seduced he's no longer straight.

by Anonymousreply 28February 16, 2019 12:47 AM

True but at least he’s masculine

by Anonymousreply 29February 16, 2019 1:17 AM

It’s because gay men fetishize and idolize straight men and masculinity. They are fetishized because they are accepted and seen as the ideal by society while anything other than that is mostly the opposite. To be masculine is good while anything pertaining to femininity is inferior or in some severe settings an abomination. Male heterosexuality and masculinity have become synonymous at this point as have femininity and non male heterosexuality. This has instilled in us a desire to be more masculine and an attraction to the masculine. Hence the attraction to straight men because they are perceived as the epitome of masculinity.

Also the studios run by straight porn companies are pretty much inherently homophobic or at the very least hetero focused. It isn’t a coincidence that the studios run by such companies are the main ones exporting such content.

by Anonymousreply 30February 16, 2019 2:23 AM

Masculinity matters

by Anonymousreply 31February 16, 2019 6:16 AM

I thought that, originally at least, Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher were independently owned R30

Ditto a lot of the lesser "straight guy" sites like Broke Straight Guys etc.

by Anonymousreply 32February 16, 2019 12:37 PM

They were

by Anonymousreply 33February 16, 2019 12:48 PM

What’s considered manly is what most consider attractive in men. For whatever reasons, a lot of openly gay men present themselves in a unmanly way, which makes every unattractive to many.

by Anonymousreply 34February 16, 2019 4:39 PM

*which makes them very unmanly

by Anonymousreply 35February 16, 2019 4:39 PM

Yeah, ironically gay culture makes men who adopt it unattractive

by Anonymousreply 36February 16, 2019 4:53 PM

Because at least 90% of the dick out there is unavailable so we get off on the idea that it can be ours.

by Anonymousreply 37February 16, 2019 5:44 PM

95% or more

by Anonymousreply 38February 16, 2019 5:46 PM

Hetero males make a fetish out of lesbianism. Why shouldn’t we subject them to the same male gaze they subject women to?

by Anonymousreply 39February 16, 2019 5:47 PM

It’s way out of proportion among gay men. Sometimes straight dudes Fantasize about lesbianism, but not anywhere as much as gay men Fantasize about seducing straight dudes.

by Anonymousreply 40February 16, 2019 5:55 PM

Completely different. Straight guys like girl on girl because they imagine they could have a threesome and because it means the women are really into sex as opposed to their sometimes reluctant wives or girlfriends.

by Anonymousreply 41February 16, 2019 6:00 PM

It's because closeted "straight" men are a huge market for gay porn. I've always just assumed that's who Men.com is marketing to. It certainly doesn't reflect much gay sensibility.

by Anonymousreply 42February 16, 2019 6:04 PM

Yeah it does. Are you blind?

by Anonymousreply 43February 16, 2019 6:14 PM

I think, at its most primal urge, its about taking back power. Gay men have been villified and subjected to a stream of invective by straight men throughout time and to "seduce" a straight guy is about proving your worth, in many ways. The powerless wanting to take power by lording it over those who reduce us and marginalize us. Yeah, sure, sometimes its about wanting get a hot looking guy, regardless of whether he's into you or not, but the thrill comes with conquest of supposedly impossible territory. And at its root, gaining back some self-worth in the transaction. Its like insecure people who go after someone married - just to prove to themselves that they can.

by Anonymousreply 44February 16, 2019 6:17 PM

Gay porn is all about raping straights and fucking family members.

by Anonymousreply 45February 16, 2019 6:18 PM

It’s really about being manly, masculine

by Anonymousreply 46February 16, 2019 6:21 PM

And not acting stereotypically gay, which is viewed as unsexy for a man

by Anonymousreply 47February 16, 2019 6:39 PM

What a the big fantasy types of men? Construction workers, athletes, military, ethnic studs, thuggish Mandingo types, firemen, police, frat boys, and Instagram fitness bros. Not many are attracted to male hair dressers, florists, broadway types, and nurses for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 48February 16, 2019 6:41 PM

Masculinity is so attractive that people are attracted expressions of it that are dangerous and unhealthy, such as macho bad boys and thugs. Women and men alike are drawn to machismo.

by Anonymousreply 49February 16, 2019 7:03 PM

That makes sense R44

Whereas that makes no sense R48

Why couldn't those construction workers, athletes, military, ethnic studs, thuggish Mandingo types, firemen, police, frat boys, and Instagram fitness bros all be both masculine and gay? Why couldn't the plot be that two football players realize they're each gay and hot for each other, instead of the usual plot where the gay one seduces the straight one or they get stood up by a girl and decide to "experiment" No Homo!

by Anonymousreply 50February 16, 2019 7:44 PM

Masculinity is only attractive in males.

by Anonymousreply 51February 17, 2019 4:23 AM

Over the years I have had so much sex with young straight guys when we were in our 20s and 30’s. I was in shape, played sports, didn’t cook, didn’t decorate my apartment

by Anonymousreply 52February 17, 2019 5:07 AM

R51 Tell that to lesbians.

R52 They weren't straight in the least.

by Anonymousreply 53February 17, 2019 5:26 AM

Also, how many of us have had our hearts broken over "straight" guys that refused to come out of the closet? Maybe it's a psychological complex the pornography industry has managed to tap into.

by Anonymousreply 54February 17, 2019 5:28 AM

I think its just biology. When we are in our youth and adolescence, our feelings are triggered by straight friends and acquaintances, who are physically and emotionally unavailable, at least to the extant we would wish them to be - the crushes I had at 8,11,15 and on were the guys and dads from school, church and on tv - pretty much all straight guys. So, that unrequited, unreciprocated type of relationship is ingrained into our desires...

by Anonymousreply 55February 17, 2019 2:19 PM

It comes down to masculinity and what’s considered cool

by Anonymousreply 56February 17, 2019 2:23 PM

A lot of times the hot masculine jock performers are automatically presumed to be nongay.

by Anonymousreply 57February 17, 2019 2:25 PM

Male violence is a response to female homophobia.

by Anonymousreply 58February 17, 2019 2:26 PM

R30 that explains it

by Anonymousreply 59February 17, 2019 2:54 PM
I think its just biology. This is why heterosexuality is not normal, natural, or healthy. It is a form of institutionalized cockblocking backed up by scaremongering tales of human extinction that don't hold up to logical or scientific scrutiny, especially since the first test-tube baby just turned 40.

by Anonymousreply 60February 17, 2019 2:57 PM

When gay men find a man attractive, the first thing we notice tends to be personality and looks. Sexual orientation and actual desire to consent to gay sex, especially with the likes of you, is next on the list.

by Anonymousreply 61February 17, 2019 2:58 PM

OP is trying to use his brain to analyze something our dicks are responding to......

by Anonymousreply 62February 17, 2019 3:00 PM

There are other channels on pornhub, you know., OP

by Anonymousreply 63February 17, 2019 4:22 PM

I am attracted to sexy straight men the same way I'm attracted to sexy gay men. However, I'd prefer my porn to feature gay actors because the passion seems more authentic.

by Anonymousreply 64February 17, 2019 4:27 PM

Traits considered manly or what attracts most men to men. Interest in divas, calling males by female pronouns, interest in the Golden Girls and Katy Perry, and acting like a sassy drag queen are considered unattractive things in a man to most.

by Anonymousreply 65February 17, 2019 4:27 PM

Traits considered manly are what attracts most to certain men.

by Anonymousreply 66February 17, 2019 4:30 PM
Interest in divas, calling males by female pronouns, interest in the Golden Girls and Katy Perry, and acting like a sassy drag queen are considered unattractive things in a man to most.

I was having a conversation about this the other day R65--and we added "dressing in overly fashionable and unflattering clothing" to the list-- and were wondering why so many gay men do all these things knowing that it will make them unattractive to other gay men.

The consensus was that is a way of avoiding sex or sexual encounters either because the idea of sex in general is very stressful or because the person considers sex and/or gay sex to be dirty and wrong.

Regardless, the result is celibacy.

It also stands in contrast to lesbians, where women with more "masculine" interests are not considered undesirable.

by Anonymousreply 67February 17, 2019 4:38 PM

^That must explain why I've been hiding behind bangles, earrings & kaftans and hot pink cuban heels for years!

by Anonymousreply 68February 17, 2019 4:43 PM

R1 and r12 have connected the drives and motivations succinctly. Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 69February 17, 2019 4:44 PM

I think the fact that so many openly gay men display effeminate traits despite the gripping social persecution and dating cold shoulder they face indicates such femininity is deeply innate or at least not a real choice

by Anonymousreply 70February 17, 2019 4:48 PM

It's so taboo, so...titillating

by Anonymousreply 71February 17, 2019 4:49 PM

It has to do with thinking that straight men are somehow exotic or in a way, real men as opposed to gay men.

by Anonymousreply 72February 17, 2019 4:54 PM

We all like a light challenge.

by Anonymousreply 73February 17, 2019 5:24 PM

Exactly. Lots of them are gettable.

by Anonymousreply 74February 17, 2019 7:37 PM

That’s how hate crimes happen ⬆️

by Anonymousreply 75February 17, 2019 8:06 PM

No. This is the bogus excuse for how hate crime happen.

by Anonymousreply 76February 17, 2019 8:10 PM

Make your own porn. Sheesh.

by Anonymousreply 77February 17, 2019 8:22 PM

I love [italic]The Golden Girls[/italic] but I wouldn’t be caught dead listening to Katy Perry. You really can’t make assumptions.

by Anonymousreply 78February 17, 2019 9:03 PM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 79February 17, 2019 9:25 PM

R44 I agree 100% with what you wrote. And I would add, if I may, that the secret desire to get a straight man also rest in equal desire to proving that he was gay after all; that seduction will reveal his true self.

R52 I have had a few straight guys in my bed. They all wanted to have sex for various reasons. But I always ask for a kiss during the sex. A fuck you can forget. Few straight men forget kissing another man.

by Anonymousreply 80February 17, 2019 9:31 PM

Another reason I prefer amateur porn.

by Anonymousreply 81February 17, 2019 9:39 PM

Generally speaking, only older people pay for porn, so porn tends to be tuned to what sells to older people.

Many of these older people have internalised homophobia over their decades of living with it. You only need to look at this thread and the way so many posters here equate masculinity with being straight. So the porn producers play up to that.

by Anonymousreply 82February 17, 2019 9:48 PM

Actually dating ads from young men seeking men is even more skewed toward seeking “straight men,” or at the very least “masc4masc only.”

by Anonymousreply 83February 17, 2019 10:50 PM

There's another great illustration of internalised homophobia - thinking that "masc4masc" means the same as "looking for straight men". Masc ≠ straight

by Anonymousreply 84February 17, 2019 10:59 PM

Straight men don’t sleep with men.

by Anonymousreply 85February 17, 2019 11:02 PM

But men who sound and carry themselves like men are more attractive

by Anonymousreply 86February 18, 2019 11:55 AM

True

by Anonymousreply 87February 18, 2019 12:26 PM

I'm attracted to masculinity. I do not find men who talk like, move like, act like, or dress like a woman to be sexy. Now in real life, I have met men who were a little effeminate but once I got to know them, I found them attractive but porn is visceral. To get off the men need to be masculine for me.

No body ever criticizes straight men for not liking porn with masculine looking women.

by Anonymousreply 88February 18, 2019 12:29 PM

While I treat all People with respect, I just naturally am Only attracted to males who are conventionally masculine and mainstream. I find most openly gay guys display mannerisms, interests, and characteristics that are observably effeminate or nonmasculine, which kills any possibility of attraction for me.

by Anonymousreply 89February 18, 2019 1:33 PM

A lot of us still hate ourselves for wanting the hunky jock bully who tormented us in high school. Seducing him by proxy is a way of both satisfying that lust and punishing him.

by Anonymousreply 90February 18, 2019 1:39 PM

OP! Right in front of my SALAD!??

by Anonymousreply 91February 18, 2019 1:39 PM

You were tormented by jocks? I played sports, and I generally didn’t see jocks tormenting or persecuting people. Jocks are popular, but usually not bullies. They might have been conceited but rarely bullies.

by Anonymousreply 92February 18, 2019 1:44 PM

R92 My experience is not everyone's, but neither is yours.

by Anonymousreply 93February 18, 2019 1:46 PM

R11 is right. It’s not that they are, claim to be or are labeled straight. It’s the masculinity.

Porn is hard enough to recruit for. When a guy with two kids to make payments on, an apartment and a bad knee crushing his (somewhat unrealistic) dreams of being a football star gets offered a contract and they take it —why be upset? He’ll, I wish Jimmy Johnson still did porn.

I thought we were supposed to be attracted to men.

by Anonymousreply 94February 18, 2019 2:07 PM

They only guys I’ve ever known to date nelly are really straight acting gays who like that bit of feminity or unfortaye gays that are heavy/unattractive.

There is nothing less hot that seeing two nellies cuddles up together. It’s like watching lesbian porn “with a little bit extra” as those tranny fuckers like to say.

by Anonymousreply 95February 18, 2019 2:10 PM

Unfortunate*

by Anonymousreply 96February 18, 2019 2:11 PM

This thread needs more clips!

by Anonymousreply 97February 18, 2019 2:12 PM

R93. Sorry you were bullied. That’s never cool but don’t hold it against all jocks.

Jocks are hot and while the cam shows do nothing for me I think a lot of guys are paying for them.

by Anonymousreply 98February 18, 2019 2:13 PM

R85. I think I agree with you. I don’t think our sexuality is “fluid” or “exist on a spectrum.” I think men like what they like and that’s all there is to it.

Had straight friends since school days and never sucked one of them off.

You can always (usually, hopefully) tell the guys you shouldn’t be alone with unless you want to be. Guys show their hand quickly. Someone hot walks into a room and we stare.

I don’t know why everyone’s feelings are so hurt. Masc 4 masc just means they don’t want to open the door to a four-corner-formation snap followed by “Wasasss up Qwaaan?!

by Anonymousreply 99February 18, 2019 2:23 PM

This guys is a real class act 🙄 He’s really hot and comes in the door like a bull. The person behind the gloryhole tricked him or the top was too stupid to ask questions beyond “So you’ll suck my dick?” I think it’s a tranny but could just be a really effeminate guy.

I guess the top had dabbled in this before. I wouldn’t call him straight especially after he finds out it isn’t a girl and drops them anyway.

Hot guy but a skeeze. Who would set one of these up in their homes and let guys from Grindr just come and go? I’m guessing he wasn’t shocked that he didn’t care if they weren’t 18. Are we really still telling ourselves you can’t get STDs from swallowing?

“I don’t care if you aren’t 18...come on.”

Straight man cock more tasty, good!

by Anonymousreply 102February 18, 2019 3:26 PM

Straight men in porn is often awkward as fuck, most gay men crave masculinity. Limp straight dick is not what gay men are after.

by Anonymousreply 103February 18, 2019 3:50 PM

I think you are all mixing up the notion of "straight" and "masculine"

Corbin Fisher could tell you that "hey, we found all these masculine gay and bi curious jocks and now we're going to let them fulfill their fantasies" but somehow that wouldn't seem as "hot" as "we found these hot straight jocks--and we're going to shoot of a video of them fucking a girl first, in case you didn't believe they were straight--and then we're going to give them an "education" and teach them how much fun getting it on with a guy can be. They'll still be straight though--we'll continue to show you videos of them fucking chicks, just to show you that hey, #NoHomo, but how hot is it watching these straight guys getting fucked and making out with each other?"

Similarly, one of the most popular story series on NIFTY right now is called "Little White Pills", a vaguely sci-fi bit about a company whose experimental athletic performance enhancement pills also cause the straight college boys taking them to start craving gay sex, and even though they resist at first because, gay sex would be too, you know gay, they all wind up fucking each other and realizing how hot gay sex is and how much more they enjoy it than straight sex...

by Anonymousreply 104February 18, 2019 3:52 PM

I think a lot are r103

by Anonymousreply 105February 18, 2019 3:52 PM

NIFTY still exists?

by Anonymousreply 106February 18, 2019 3:56 PM

Most of the popular non gay for pay performers sound like nelly drag queens and they directors let them talk and moan like bitches lol don’t they realize it’s a turn off to most gay men?

by Anonymousreply 107February 18, 2019 4:44 PM

Because autoandrophilia.

by Anonymousreply 108February 18, 2019 4:47 PM

Seduction is hot, OP. And who else is a gay man going to seduce?

A gay man is not going to seduce a woman. Certainly not in gay porn. And a gay man has no real need to seduce another gay man. Just flash a fresh bottle of poppers at him, and he'll be naked and in bed in a flash. That only leaves a few categories, Mormon boyz and straight men, prominently among them.

by Anonymousreply 109February 18, 2019 4:56 PM

Gays should lust after Bruce Jenner

How are black gay porn stars seen as super masculine but white gay porn stars seen as Nelly drag queens? Black men don't usually go gay4pay, but the porn is still masculine. Are you all saying white gays can't be masculine?

by Anonymousreply 112February 18, 2019 5:44 PM

There are masc white Dudes in male porn, but they rarely identify as gay.

by Anonymousreply 113February 18, 2019 5:50 PM

R112 you think dl watches black on black gay porn?

by Anonymousreply 114February 18, 2019 5:52 PM
Why is so much gay porn about seducing straight men?

Because a lot of it is consumed by straight women. They identify with that scenario by proxi.

They are living their fantasy of seducing the hottie through gay Pornhub.

by Anonymousreply 115February 18, 2019 5:53 PM

I was talking about interracial porn mostly.

by Anonymousreply 116February 18, 2019 5:55 PM

I exclusively have sex with straight men. Most of them want to kill me afterward. It's a wonder I'm still alive.

by Anonymousreply 117February 18, 2019 6:08 PM

How do the porn studios convince straight men to have gay sex? Is the money that good?

by Anonymousreply 118February 18, 2019 6:12 PM

R118 we live in a world of lazy grifters who would rather fuck a dude than do an honest days work.

by Anonymousreply 119February 18, 2019 6:20 PM

Why?

- "straights, they are just gay for cock like us! We are not so different after all!"

- the straight friend, from the past, who got away. What could've been.

. "how awesome that these alpha males put up with us low life gays and even let "us" do stuff to them!"

- making straight douchebros "our" bitches.

- Worshipping the so called male ideal (straight, masculine, muscular, alpha).

by Anonymousreply 120February 18, 2019 6:23 PM

R98 Relax, not that deep.

by Anonymousreply 121February 18, 2019 7:23 PM

There is or was a site called Straight Hell and its whole premise was gay skinheads raping straight guys but the videos were so gross and mean that they are unwatchable.

by Anonymousreply 122February 19, 2019 8:42 PM

Ewwww Straight Hell sounds as disgusting as the straight porn industry which is big on rape fantasies.

by Anonymousreply 123February 19, 2019 9:40 PM

R122 I'm pleased with myself that I never found that site anything but disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 124February 19, 2019 11:17 PM

There's a thread bouncing around now asking about porn featuring ugly people. "Straight Hell" took that concept and ran with it.

by Anonymousreply 125February 19, 2019 11:19 PM

They do it to women all the time so gay men should get to do it to them in return.

by Anonymousreply 126February 19, 2019 11:32 PM

Because so much is written by straight women who have zero knowledge of gay sex. So, they template everything superimposing their own bodies and behavior onto the “gay” character.

When you read this trash, which sadly I’ve done and I think much less of myself for it - you realize the “gay” character is always a female who is a cut-and-paste character. There are simple changes in the description and clothing but everything about the character is female and feminine. The physical characteristics, mannerisms, behavior, thought patterns, attempts at seduction - even employment are all female. Clothing choices, emphasis on looking “cute” and “finished” are all female obsessions, not male.

The sex is inevitably screwed up. The anus does not self lubricate, and the choice of positions are completely inplausible for actual male-male sex, well - unless their heads rotate 180 degrees like spiders. That’d be creepy.

It’s shitty writing by women with absolutely no knowledge of how men’s bodies work, what turns them on. But then, they’re writing for women so the idea they’re offending gay men by committing a social crime that’s the equivalent of blackface doesn’t occur to them. It never does.

All this crap should be required to have a lawnjockey on the cover as a warning it was written by a woman and is complete shit written by a woman and is blackface.

by Anonymousreply 127February 20, 2019 1:05 AM

That’s a weird explanation

by Anonymousreply 128February 20, 2019 1:13 AM

Because it's hot?

by Anonymousreply 129February 20, 2019 2:14 AM

They like to "recruit" despite it never actually happening a single time in human history.

This is just another reason why they hate us.

by Anonymousreply 130February 20, 2019 6:47 AM

they don't hate us, they hate you! I can't say that I blame them.

by Anonymousreply 131February 20, 2019 7:28 AM

Oh wow

by Anonymousreply 132February 20, 2019 7:51 AM

I would look at it from another point of view - it's becoming more socially acceptable to be open about being gay/bi. The stereotypical "gay guy" isn't always effeminate. There are also plenty of masculine guys out there who are gay and bi and are now becoming more comfortable about being out.

by Anonymousreply 133February 20, 2019 8:10 AM

The stigma with gay identity is still huge and overwhelming. The closet and denial are still pervasive

by Anonymousreply 134February 20, 2019 8:32 AM

The ultimate fantasy guy looks like this. Not exactly your stereotypical gay guy look or vibe.

by Anonymousreply 135February 20, 2019 12:14 PM

No, R135. That is not the ultimate fantasy guy. That's a 23 year old fitness model who gets paid to make you feel bad about your adult body and push you into buy products that you don't need and won't work.

This is a more suitable candidate for ultimate fantasy guy.

Naw, r136. Guys like that aren’t driving clicks in male porn or getting all the hype from drooling fans. Maybe older gay white guys are into that bearish look, but it’s not the overall hot mainstream fantasy guy.

by Anonymousreply 137February 20, 2019 12:23 PM

Gay men are gullible.

by Anonymousreply 138February 20, 2019 1:06 PM

Gay porn fans are

by Anonymousreply 139February 20, 2019 1:19 PM

I used to enjoy seducing a straight (or at least a guy who identified as being straight). Just for the thrill of the hunt. Once I had sex with them, that was enough. Though there were a few that I liked being with, and if the attraction was mutual, then we continued for many more times together. I guess back then I enjoyed the challenge, but now I prefer guys who are out and comfortable with being a gay man, with all the benefits. And yes, I love watching (still) gay porn where a straight guy is seduced. .

by Anonymousreply 140February 20, 2019 1:26 PM

These insights are gleaned from, appropriately enough, the latest, gayest edition of Pornhub Insights, a regularly-released collection of data from the online porn juggernaut. According to Pornhub, in data exclusive to VICE, this year's most popular categories for gay content across the country are "black" and "straight guys." That's the same as it was last year. And a variety of other conclusions mined from the site's trove of user data may have you rethinking what you know about what gets gay dudes titillated. It's well known that more gay porn is viewed in the South than anywhere else in the US, something this year's findings backed up yet again—Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia came in at numbers one, three and and four for states with most pageviews of Pornhub's gay content. But what's truly shocking are each state's most popular relative search terms, those that are disproportionately popular in certain areas of the country. For instance, "Mormon" is the most popular term in Utah and Idaho, where more Mormons live. "Cowboy" is most popular in Montana, where cowboy culture is alive and well. "Dominican" is most popular in New York, where almost half of the entire Dominican population in the US lives. "Asian" is most popular in California, which has the largest Asian population in the country. "Redneck" is the most popular term in Kentucky and West Virginia. I'm not making any assumptions about the people that live there, just stating a fact. The trend seems to be that gay people aren't necessarily fantasizing about college-aged twinks—they're lusting after the kinds of people they see every day, whether that's guys who get on their knees to worship Joseph Smith, know how to ride a bucking bronco, or can neck a redneck. We all have crushes on our neighbors, no matter their color, creed, or culture they hail from.

by Anonymousreply 141February 20, 2019 2:13 PM

Personality is something that gets me hot for a straight dude. One I like now has it in the 10 plus range. Be is very cool, funny, kind. He is somewhat athletic. He is 40 and in incredible shape. I get a few pings, but he seems almost like the gay does not exist. I love being friends with him. I'm scared to make a real obvious move. What's a guy to do.

by Anonymousreply 142February 20, 2019 2:14 PM

It's too hard for me to say.

by Anonymousreply 143February 20, 2019 2:22 PM

I do think that there is an opening for a new genre of porn.

by Anonymousreply 144February 20, 2019 2:54 PM

Dominican" is most popular in New York, where almost half of the entire Dominican population in the US lives.

by Anonymousreply 145February 20, 2019 3:00 PM

When I first saw those Pornhub stats, all I could think was "people too unsophisticated to know about MyVidster which has better video quality (HD) and full episodes from popular porn studios."

by Anonymousreply 146February 20, 2019 3:11 PM

LOL at R136

I never get some of you eldergays.

The guy at R135 is what gets him off. You don't like guys who look like that, you like older more bearish types.

Why is one more valid than the other? They're both valid. One is a Corbin Fisher vibe, the other Men.com

by Anonymousreply 147February 20, 2019 3:14 PM

R141 site for article?

by Anonymousreply 148February 20, 2019 8:34 PM

MyVidster is wonky and filled with spyware and annoying pop ups

by Anonymousreply 149February 20, 2019 9:32 PM

I don't like that site.

by Anonymousreply 150February 20, 2019 10:10 PM

MyVidster itself is fine. However it hosts little content itself - instead it embeds content from all the different sites it crawls. So you do have to keep an eye on the source link before you click play. Though why on earth you're looking at porn on the internet without a popup and ad blocker...

by Anonymousreply 151February 20, 2019 10:16 PM

MyVidster has a lot of technical glitches

by Anonymousreply 152February 21, 2019 9:35 AM

The thing is that porn Presents any dude who is attractive and conventionally masculine as straight. Even amateur porn Does that. It’s rather homophobic to Think that truly masculine dudes can’t be gay. For instance, this amateur video presents the top as straight because he seems like a regular mainstream Masculine dude. He’s probably not straight, but porn thinks presenting him as straight makes him Hotter

Because most gay men are bottoms, and straight men are mostly, by default, tops. I wrote this in another thread, but gay men mostly have a very warped perception of “masculinity” that’s unique among themselves and not at all consistent with how society defines true, effortless masculinity you often find in straight guys.

As far as most gay men are concerned, the moment they get just a little tipsy, the facade of “masculinity” falls away and the queen comes right out.

With these conversations, everyone seems to forget that straight men ARE attracted to feminine traits—just not attracted to manly bodies. Gay men, who are mostly bottoms, are only attracting other gay men (mostly bottoms) when they get huge muscles and and try to employ a masculine swagger.

The slim and effeminate guys believe it or not will attract more masc, DL straight dick than your roided-out queen.

by Anonymousreply 154February 22, 2019 2:35 PM

They also attract bi Dudes, ya know....

by Anonymousreply 155February 22, 2019 2:48 PM

As a masculine bisexual guy and from my own experience, there is no such thing as a masculine alpha 100% gay guy, none at all

That is something that the media created, just like women in movies who fall for and try to hook up with gay guys, most women will move off a bisexual guy when they find out, they are not trying to hook up with 100% gay guys

Good thing for other masculine bisexual guys

by Anonymousreply 156February 22, 2019 3:21 PM

You have not been to prison or the military then...there are a few 100% masculine gay men...

by Anonymousreply 157February 22, 2019 3:27 PM

There are few very masculine openly gay guys. I find that coming out and being in gay cultures undercuts men’s masculinity. They start talking differently, watching different shows, listening to different music, identifying with women, and wearing clothes that make them less masculine

by Anonymousreply 158February 22, 2019 3:40 PM

Gay culture is not very manly

by Anonymousreply 159February 22, 2019 3:41 PM

Seconded R156. Every “indistinguishable from straight” guy I’ve hooked up with has been bisexual, and most are closeted because they prefer women. For them coming out makes no sense because it would dramatically reduce the number f the straight women who would consider them viable partners.

Since most bi guys only like to hook up with, not date men, it makes sense that they’d keep their same-sex inclinations secret.

by Anonymousreply 160February 22, 2019 3:45 PM

What's fascinating about that R153 is we never even get to hear the "straight" guy talk. He just fucks and has a decent body. For all we know he sounds like Frankie Grande IRL.

R156, R158 and R160 -- I'm thinking you're older and what you say is likely true for an older generation. But coming out these days doesn't always mean "giving up all your current friends and making a whole new group of gay friends." But for guys who did just that--start spending all their time at gay parties/bars/clubs, then yes, I've seen a couple of them become decidedly more femme in their overall manners.

But there are still plenty of gay guys who aren't femme--they're just not as obvious.

by Anonymousreply 161February 22, 2019 3:59 PM

True r161, Although you hear him lowly mutter a few words like a typical brodudes. But he looks and acts like your typical masculine American guy.

by Anonymousreply 162February 22, 2019 4:14 PM

Studies have recently shown that people can accurately distinguish gay guys from straight guys based on pics of their faces. Yes, facial structure was part of it, but also styling of hair and whether they wore a baseball cap were also factors

by Anonymousreply 163February 22, 2019 4:17 PM

Hand gestures are thought to indicate male sexuality

by Anonymousreply 164February 22, 2019 4:17 PM

Every homosexual fantasises about having a real man's baby!

by Anonymousreply 165February 22, 2019 4:21 PM

This issue is discussed in the book "A Billion Wicked Thoughts," where a pair of neuroscientists examined the data on people's search for porn on the internet and how that aligns with research on the neuro differences between the sexes: basically, gay men have the sexual motivation of the male -- visually oriented, needing sex on a regular basis to spread our seed -- with the sexual desires of straight women -- wanting to have sex with an alpha male type.

by Anonymousreply 167February 22, 2019 4:44 PM

I'm 156 and again the alpha great looking , muscle bound gay guy is a media myth, it doesn't exist

Some of those dudes DO hook up with guys but their bisexual and not open about it, I work a tough job as a loading dock supervisor and all the gay men we've had had work up front as the shipping/receiving clerk's with women not with the guys and they're all obviously gay, feminine and therefore unfuckable

The dudes on the dock lifting heavy stuff on the other hand....

Hot. Real men

by Anonymousreply 168February 22, 2019 5:38 PM

THis is R160, I’m not older, I’m 33 and very few out gay men in my demographic and younger are what I would call straight passing. Perhaps I just have strong gaydar, but it seems like 80%+ of young gay guys have very obvious gay voice and mannerisms.

I’m sure there are some closeted gay men out there who you can’t tell are gay, but it’s disingenuous to suggest that these guys represent anything but a small percentage of gay men.

by Anonymousreply 169February 22, 2019 5:53 PM

I'm attracted to black, Arab, and latino men for this reason. Openly gay men seem to become more feminine with each passing day if they are immersed in the gay community, especially gay white men.

by Anonymousreply 170February 22, 2019 5:57 PM

Bi dudes are likely to be closeted anyway. It’s the norm

by Anonymousreply 171February 22, 2019 5:57 PM

I’m mostly into white dudes but avoid the gay ones, who are mostly NELLY bottoms. Instead I seek out the DL bi/discrete guys.

by Anonymousreply 172February 22, 2019 6:14 PM

"Straight" guys might be hot on video to some but in real life, they are more trouble than they are worth.

by Anonymousreply 173February 23, 2019 2:33 AM

Not really

by Anonymousreply 174February 23, 2019 2:39 AM

R154, you really have a myopic view, on sex, sexuality, gender and masculinity.

Masculinity, as a concept is fragile, and does most men a disservice in addressing their needs. The focus should be on what makes people happy and how to get there, not acting one way or another to please anyone else. Gay men and lesbians know the misery living a life, that someone else feels, better than most people.

by Anonymousreply 175February 25, 2019 2:39 AM

Agreed r175. But there's no reason the concept of masculinity can't be expanded. It takes a real man to take a hard pounding with a big dick. We tend to dwell on the negatives of male sexuality, which is not a bad thing, but we can easily lose sight of the purest elements of male on male sexuality. Sexuality is to be enjoyed.

by Anonymousreply 176February 25, 2019 2:48 AM

R175, my comments refute the common trope from the many posters who assert that effeminate men have no fans, as this is couldn’t be further from the truth. Again, these gay men are viewing gender norms through their own lens, but not considering that most men are NOT attracted to masculinity, and that girly men, especially when smooth, young, and thin, are quite desired, mostly by men who are attracted to femininity.

I also fail to see where you find fault with my comments about gay men’s definition of masculinity being unique to themselves. Of course there are outliers—gay men whose interests, mannerisms, and overall “vibe” is indistinguishable from your average straight mans. But that’s not common, and you know it. Most “masculine” gay men still largely exhibit easily observable gay identifiers—off the bat or when they get more comfortable around a person.

None of these observations are criticisms. I’m a gay man, too. I’m just simply stating my opinions. My comments seem to have hit a nerve with you for some reason.

by Anonymousreply 177February 25, 2019 3:45 AM
Instead I seek out the DL bi/discrete guys.

Sadly (for all the spelling/grammar queens out there), the guys who refer to themselves as "discrete" online tend to be the most masculine.

by Anonymousreply 178February 25, 2019 3:51 AM

Yep, exactly, R178. Many of these guys wont even ask for, or send a face pic either. I’ve met up with so many hot, young white guys who just wanted a good BJ. We traded body pics only.

by Anonymousreply 179February 25, 2019 3:57 AM

They also tend to have no connection, interest, or awareness of gay culture, which makes them more masculine and hot to many of us.

by Anonymousreply 180February 25, 2019 7:37 AM

Our first two husbands were also fish-fuckers.

(Nothing hotter!)

by Anonymousreply 181February 25, 2019 8:26 AM

Personally, I lose attraction to any guy who displays any stereotypically gay traits or effeminacy, including gay talk and mannerisms

by Anonymousreply 182February 25, 2019 11:30 AM

I don't get it, who wants to lust after someone who will never want you and real straight guys don't want you.

by Anonymousreply 183February 25, 2019 12:16 PM

r183, it's a combination of forbidden fruit and basic evolutionary biology.

by Anonymousreply 184February 25, 2019 1:59 PM

by Anonymousreply 186February 26, 2019 6:50 AM

R67, most truly gay or bi women strongly prefer a feminine woman.

by Anonymousreply 187February 26, 2019 7:34 AM

The whole porn industry is a mess. For example, a bottom who can't maintain an erection while getting fucked either has some serious nervous system issues or is doing it just for the money. It's formulaic as all hell.

by Anonymousreply 192March 2, 2019 2:42 PM

Or course they are doing it for the money. Duh

by Anonymousreply 193March 2, 2019 2:56 PM

R192 that's ridiculous. Many bottoms simply don't maintain hardons while getting fucked, doesn't mean they don't enjoy it and doesn't mean they have "issues" you twat

by Anonymousreply 194March 17, 2019 3:50 PM

FEmmy bottoms think their rectum is a pussy. They hate their dicks.

by Anonymousreply 195March 17, 2019 4:43 PM
Personally, I lose attraction to any guy who displays any stereotypically gay traits or effeminacy, including gay talk and mannerisms

This is a common enough theme and yet the vast majority of gay men actually emphasize these traits and play up their effeminacy, even down to clothing and hairstyle choices.

That's always struck me as odd, since it seems designed to make them unattractive to other men.

by Anonymousreply 196March 17, 2019 4:50 PM

We like a chase. Especially if it leads to sex and it always does on porn

by Anonymousreply 197March 17, 2019 5:03 PM

There are no hot gay men, simple as that

This , "gay guys are hot and work.out constantly and are great friends for women and are clean" BS was media created

I'm a masculine, so I'm told, bisexual male and all my best buds through the years, guys I've worked out with and still do, played baseball, hockey and football with are straight as an arrow and many are hot, pure male testosterone, the alpha male if you will

Even WOMEN prefer a dominating type alpha male over a beta male and yes over their feminine gay guy friends, whom women don't even look at as "men"

Women get PISSED when they like an attractive masculine guy whose even a little bisexual, it just happened to me at work yesterday with a female co worker asking people about me, my age and I knew she was flirting with me and another co worker said she liked you until I told her you were bisexual .

Now the 100 gay men I know are mostly jokes, flamboyant, borderline female, completely unfuckable, victim portraying, just no. No dude

by Anonymousreply 198March 17, 2019 5:14 PM

R196, only the vast majority of gay culture gays. There are many gay men who blend in with the mainstream and never adopt gay culture

by Anonymousreply 199March 17, 2019 5:16 PM

Agreed R199 and I am one, but we are still very much the minority and you see threads on DL basically insisting that being a femme Cher and fashion loving mince is the only way to be gay

by Anonymousreply 200March 17, 2019 5:17 PM

You do? They can’t be serious.

by Anonymousreply 201March 17, 2019 5:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 202March 17, 2019 6:50 PM

"There are many gay men who blend in with the mainstream and never adopt gay culture."

You think you blend in. If you're over the age of 18 and not actively seeking pussy, people will be suspect of your sexuality.

And yet here all you closet cases are, desperately trying to "pass" and "blend in" when the very thing that will set you free (pussy) repulses you and you run away from it screaming like the scared little boys you really are.

by Anonymousreply 203March 17, 2019 6:56 PM

why do so many women find gay men attractive

by Anonymousreply 205March 17, 2019 6:58 PM

R198

You are wrong about literally everything. Women dgaf about over-muscled bodies, that is a gay thing. Women typically like the cute, pretty boys. Face>>>>>>>>>>>>>>body for most women.

It's why celebs with "gay-face" are ADORED by fangirls.

by Anonymousreply 206March 17, 2019 7:03 PM

r205 but a bitch ain’t one!

by Anonymousreply 207March 17, 2019 7:42 PM

R206 where are these over muscled guys who are gay?

Again, EVERY gum dude that's hot I know and even the really built Military looking middle aged guys are straight as hell

I can name about 10 great looking, masculine , muscled guys at work now that if I wasn't in a relationship with a woman and wanted to pursue my interest in men, I would date and are exactly my type, it doesn't matter anyway since they're straight

I can't name ONE full fledged gay guy that fits that description

Not one

I've had luck with fellow bisexual guys when I was single however

by Anonymousreply 208March 17, 2019 7:41 PM

Poor OP’s life revolves around others.

by Anonymousreply 209March 17, 2019 7:44 PM

R296 coming from a bisexual guy, you do realize that most women won't even go NEAR a bisexual male let alone try to convert a gay one

Even my girlfriend joked with me when I mention women hitting on me she said "be honest if telling them you have a girlfriend doesn't work out, tell them the truth that you're bisexual"

Works Everytime

That women trying to convert a gay guy shit is delusional Hollywood fantasy written by gay men desperate to be accepted.... Anywhere

by Anonymousreply 210March 17, 2019 7:48 PM

OP for the same reason straight porn is all essentially about rape and humiliation

Men, as a species, find coercion, and degradation sexy. Sad but true.

by Anonymousreply 211March 17, 2019 7:55 PM

Also as a masculine bisexual bro type guy who fits in with "mainstream male culture", whatever that is, I can tell you that masculine bisexual men are way more accepted by straight men then by straight women, I haven't had one bad experience with my straight bros and in my college/early 20s fooled around with a few of them. Women constantly give you attitude and make passive agressive remarks about male bisexuals

by Anonymousreply 212March 17, 2019 7:57 PM

R208

I never said overly muscled men were gay, I said it's gay men who thirst over muscled bodies, women go for looks over body

by Anonymousreply 213March 17, 2019 8:07 PM

R212 is correct. As long as a bi guy “acts like a normal guy” and doesn’t “act gay” or call attention to being different, he likely will be accepted by his male peers. He can’t be stereotypically gay or observably fem though.

by Anonymousreply 214March 17, 2019 8:07 PM

R214 yup and sometimes you'll do som drunk fooling around with them but that's all it's gonna be

No homo bro. LOL

by Anonymousreply 218March 18, 2019 12:11 AM

Exploitive

by Anonymousreply 219March 18, 2019 1:28 AM

This is why some become "women" so they will not have to deal to fucking and dating fems since most gays are fems in varying degrees

by Anonymousreply 220March 24, 2019 9:38 AM

It's about fantasy. Straight porn used to be about seduction, too. The men seduced the virgin, the neighbor, co-worker, someone's wife, etc. no it's seems to be more about power and degradation. The women look like specialized cartoon characters now. Gay porn is still focusing on seduction and who is the ultimate object of that, a straight guy. Yes, there are a lot of emotional factors there, too. Who were our first crushes? A straight friend or a guy at school. Porn takes that a plays it out.

I have been with masculine gay guys, bi guys and one straight guy. The strategy get guy was a sex addict and we blew each other a couple of times in college. It was curiosity for him. He never did it again. It does happen.

The straight guy being seduced is the trope of gay porn that still goes strong. I guess people like to believe they can seduce any man into homoerotic pleasure. What’s more interesting to me is how much of this gay porn is very misogynistic. The resentment towards women who get to fuck these unattainable straight men in real life is strong.

MEN.com seems obsessed with the same scenario in an increasing amount of its scenes; the ugly or overweight woman catching her hot stud (way out of her league) husband fucking her son. Is this what gets guys off? A lot of their videos in general are about straight men being seduced while there is a women present or poised to catch them. It’s interesting that this is such a popular thing for gay men to fantasise over...

Bisexual and “mostly straight” identity is the fastest growing segment of men interested in men. It’s simply good marketing to produce erotica that reflects the identity of this Segment of dudes.

R12 is correct. DL makes this more complicated than it has to be.

Straight guys don't think about gay sex.....AT ALLLLLLLL!

They think about women....not trans-women, not transvestites, not drag queens.

They think about having sex with women.....not trans-women, not transvestites, not drag queens and certainly not men.

If there is a "straight" guy who claims to think about gay sex...he's....not...straight. That means he has urges or has already masturbated to men, gay sex scenes etc. He's either a repressed gay or is bi.

It's lust, not rocket science.

Once again, how many gay men think about straight sex? How many gay men here want to fuck a woman?

Silly topics like this push the narrative that everyone is bi, which is not the case.
