Is that one of those marijuana cigarettes?

Dolly was a gem in this movie.

So all three women are gay/bisexual in real life?
Lily is out, Dolly has always had lesbian rumors surrounding her, and Jane recently admitted that she's open to dating a woman!

I consider 9 to 5 to be one of the most lesbionic movies ever.

I love that lady, R6!
It starts in two hours....

I'm tuning in for this. That scene in the car with the three of them trying to figure out what to do with "Mr. Hart" is funny as hell.

I also love that scene r8!
"Violet honey, could you come here for a minute?"
"Who the hell is that?"
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 10, 2019 2:13 AM |
I’ve seen this movie a million times and it still makes me smile just to read the title in OP’s post. Not to take anything away from the lesbians involved in the movie but don’t forget it was directed by a gay man.

You’re a lying, sexist, egotistical, hypocritical bigot!

Every office has a Roz.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 10, 2019 2:41 AM |
Why couldn't they do the musical version on one of the networks? It wasn't the greatest, but at least it's a known quantity to most people, and Dolly Parton's music would also bring people in.

We had a "Roz" in my office about 20 years ago. Her name was Linda. A group of us decided to have some fun with her and made up the most ridiculous stories for her to hear. Eventually, our manager caught on and I was told off. I then went to my union steward and the manager mysteriously became nice to me. Good times. :)

Dolly was really good in this. And yes, lots of truth in how offices are run.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 10, 2019 6:27 AM |
Definitely a Roz in every office. I once worked at a company where their "Roz" was just unbearable. I was so glad to GTFO out of there.

Great movie. I’ve seen it dozens of times, my mom took me to the theater in its first run when I was 10.
But I’ve always had one question: why did Lily Tomlin’s character wear a kimono at the office?

In an interview with Jane, Lily says she had to be begged by Jane to return after a week of shooting. She said that watching the week's rushes, she was so embarrassed watching how badly she felt she had done the scene with the animated birds that she wanted to refund her week's paycheck and bolt. Jane got her back, and after another week of new rushes, Lily was again enthusiastic about the project and her place in it. Jane said she thought the humor of the movie was a little on the dark side, originally. Once she envisioned having Lily and Dolly attached to the project, she knew it would be outrageously funny.

The fantasy scenes are a bit too long for my liking. Otherwise, it still holds up for me. A lot of offices are still like this.

She was joking. She has also said she is done with relationships. She's 81.
