All My Children’s Candice Earley Has Died
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 16, 2019 5:52 PM |
Good riddance!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 3, 2019 7:54 PM |
Donna Beck got around. She was married to Chuck Tyler (twice), Palmer Cortlandt and Benny Sago, and was romantically involved with Tom Cudahy and Ross Chandler.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 3, 2019 8:04 PM |
I tried to find this show on television the other day but couldn’t. Did it go off the air?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 3, 2019 9:02 PM |
No Rose. It’s on a brief hiatus.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 3, 2019 9:12 PM |
This is terrible news to hear, particularly since her obit reveals that she was stricken for a decade with a terrible illness that has a fatal prognosis, Multiple Systems Atrophy.
She is gone too soon. But I will always remember and appreciate the spunk and character she brought to her role as Donna on AMC, beginning with her first appearances as a patient at Pine Valley Hospital and those initial, suspenseful storylines with Billy Clyde (!), Estelle, Benny and Chuck. R.I.P.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 3, 2019 9:31 PM |
I hope she's buried with the doll.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 3, 2019 9:32 PM |
She is in contract negotiations. Soon she'll be back playing her evil twin, then there will be an exorcism and it will turn out it was really her with another personality coming out.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 3, 2019 9:35 PM |
So many great actors on soaps that are never seen again.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 3, 2019 9:35 PM |
Odd tribute posted on YouTube with photos of Candice with Barry Bostwick and Jeff Conaway from the 1979 Broadway production of Grease.

A friend of mine died from MSA last year. Awful way to go.

Grease? Are you sure it wasn't Lube?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 4, 2019 12:58 AM |
Sad to read this. R.I.P. Candi.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 4, 2019 1:10 AM |
I hope Billy Clyde doesn’t pimp her out in the afterlife.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 4, 2019 1:11 AM |
I didn't start watching AMC full time until 1990, my mom, aunt and sister watched for years prior and I saw bits and pieces of the show then. Donna was a supporting character by then, but she was a good actress and had a nice screen presence, so I see why the she lasted so long on the show.
I read an old newspaper piece on her, and she never wanted to television, and she said for her first 4 years on the show, she was always looking for a way to get out of the show. Finally realized it was smart keeping nice paying steady gig and she could pursue her other interests of the nights and weekends (theater and her nightclub singing act).
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 4, 2019 1:29 AM |
I thought she was plain looking and a dull, monotone, horrible actress. I liked her though. So did a lot of people. She was an A lister on the show for a very long run. It was a good story but her and Palmer together made no sense at all. It was a great story line though.

I think we can do better than that. Where's the Shelley Hack reference shoe-horned in for no apparent reason?

That Donna Beck woman. Good riddance!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 4, 2019 2:16 AM |
I watched the show from the late eighties to the mid nineties and I couldn't pick this woman out of a lineup. Was she Donna the whole time?!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 4, 2019 2:18 AM |
She also did the Grease tour. I saw her as Sandy. Treat was in it....I think Marilu....and Judy Kaye was Rizzo. From Rizzo to Lily Garland....

The late Miss Earley

by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 4, 2019 2:32 AM |
Is there any statement from Billy Clyde Tuggle?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 4, 2019 2:43 AM |
Yes. Billy said his fedora was sad.

Christine Baranski was married to Billy Clyde - one of the stranger couplings.
Chuck was such a handsome guy.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 7, 2019 10:16 PM |
Sad that not a single former All My Children cast member has said anything about Candice Earley's death.
Not one person.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 7, 2019 11:12 PM |
Sue Looch mentioned it on her Instagram. She had great things to say about Candi.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 7, 2019 11:31 PM |
R43 that is great to hear
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 7, 2019 11:33 PM |

I went to her Instagram and saw NOTHING about Candi

Official condolence book for Candice Earley is available online
SHOCKINGLY not a single AMC actor has signed it.
Shameful

From FMB-
Felicia Minei Behr February 8, 2019
I was Executive Producer of All My Children when Candice appeared on the show. She was a talented and special member of our cast and will be remembered fondly by all who worked with her. My deepest condolences to Robert and her entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Felicia Minei Behr
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 9, 2019 2:34 AM |
R48 I said AMC actor - she was the producer
Other than her NO ONE
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 9, 2019 2:34 AM |
R2, was she really married to Benny Sago? I thought that was Estelle.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 9, 2019 2:37 AM |
She was married ti Benny after Estelle died and she and Benny raised Estelle;s daughter, Emily Ann. Benny eventually developed a gambling problem and they divorced. Chuck came back to town and they remarried and left Pine Valley together. to be closer to now crazy Emily Ann who was institutionalized somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 9, 2019 2:42 AM |
Candace was with OLTL’s Clint Ritchie in real life.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 9, 2019 3:36 AM |
Christina Baranski was married to Billy Clyde. Edna was married to someone I can’t remember.
The actor who played Clint also died before his time
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 9, 2019 7:13 AM |
John Gabriel still marriedto Sandy.

From Felicia Minei Behr: I fired Candace Earley.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 9, 2019 8:55 AM |
[quote] From Felicia Minei Behr: I fired Candace Earley.
She DID NOT fire Candice Earley - When her contract came up for renewal, she signed for an additional year and told the press that it would be her last year on the show. That after her contract extension expired, she planned to retire and move to Arkansas to live with her new husband.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 10, 2019 3:15 AM |
I miss All My Children and One Life To Live. I quit watching for years long before it was canceled but turned it on for background noise. Years later I’m even more lonely and the show would keep me company. I would get a cat but cat shit is a bigturnofff.
When they had the internet version that was long before other successful streaming shows. Someone should try again.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 10, 2019 5:03 AM |
Cady McClain tweeted about Candi's death, saying "She was a lovely woman and I’m grateful I got to know and work with her. I wish her soul an easy flight." Crickets from everyone else except Felicia Behr. I really hope they make mention of her death on the AMC reunion on Strahan's show on Monday. Cady, Lucci, Cam Mathison, Jacob Young, Walt Willey and Jill Larson, and maybe some others will be appearing, and most of these people worked with her for 10+ years.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 10, 2019 3:58 PM |
R58 Lucci commented about Candi on her instagram. Stop with the crickets stuff. And realistically, who cares? Candi hasn’t been relevant for 30 years and was never nominated for an emmy. She was mediocre, at best.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 10, 2019 4:44 PM |
Tom Poston's daughter Francesca Poston was Donna #1, but she was awful and quickly recast with Candi.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 10, 2019 6:34 PM |
[quote] Lucci commented about Candi on her instagram.
I went to her Instagram and didn't see anything. Can you link it here?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 10, 2019 6:36 PM |
Susan did comment in a reply to another poster who broke the news to her: "Oh my goodness! I had no idea that Candy had passed away! I am so very sorry to hear this sad sad news. She was such a lovely person and a talented actress and beautiful singer—I’ll never forget hearing her soaring voice fill St Thomas on Fifth Ave. May she Rest In Peace."
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 10, 2019 6:39 PM |
She’s fine! She sends her love!
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 10, 2019 6:52 PM |
A lot of the cast has died the last few years - Donna, Travis, Nick, Adam, Billy Clyde, and Agnes herself.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 10, 2019 11:06 PM |
R62 thanks for the link
BTW Candice Earley TV Daughter Emily-Ann (played by Liz Valley) has been SILENT on Candi's passing.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 10, 2019 11:55 PM |
Liz Valley died after her second stroke.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 10, 2019 11:58 PM |
Liz Vassey
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 10, 2019 11:59 PM |
r65, it's actually Liz VASSEY, and I noticed the same thing. Not a word, which is odd, because in the past she credited Candi and Vasili Bogazianos (who also hasn't commented) for being like a real mom and dad, showing her the ropes, etc. Nothing from Richard Van Vleet either, though I got the idea they weren't the best of friends off camera. Has Kate Collins commented? They became very friendly when they were on AMC but don't if they kept in touch all these years.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 11, 2019 12:01 AM |
It is possible a lot of her costars don't know. Candy not only left the show 25 years ago, but left the business. Plus a lot of her former co-stars are basically retired and might not be up on the latest news. It is not like her death was heavily covered. It would be similar to someone you went to high school or college or worked with 25 years ago. There are a number of people who you enjoy their company with while you are working or going to school with, but lose touch with as soon as you go your separate ways.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 11, 2019 12:49 AM |
No one cares that Candi passed. As it should be. I remember her, but haven’t thought of her in decades. She was non memorable. RIP but she was nothing special.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 11, 2019 12:52 AM |
John Travolta and Marilu Henner worked with her in the touring company of Grease but have they said anything
Were there any sort of recent pictures of her. I saw one maybe a dozen years ago and was shocked how poorly she aged.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 11, 2019 12:53 AM |
No mention of Candi on the AMC reunion on Strahan & Sara. No one cares that she croaked.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 11, 2019 6:13 PM |
I just went to the Strahan and Sara YT channel looking for clips of the AMC reunion (none yet) and they have 423 subscribers, that is so very sad.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 11, 2019 6:21 PM |
Sad that they didn't mention Candi.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 11, 2019 6:51 PM |
Candice Earley had Carol Burnett in tears when she sang "Daddy's Little Girl", visiting Pine Valley to find her long-lost father, Lenny Vlasuk. Boy, is Verla in for a surprise!
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 11, 2019 7:04 PM |
If she passed from MSA, she was ill for a long time, and the end was dire.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 14, 2019 4:23 AM |
Has Eileen Herlie commented?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 14, 2019 4:39 AM |
It's sad that hardly anyone from the show has acknowledged her death. Granted it's not like her death made any of the big news outlets, so many are probably unaware, but she was on the show for a long time.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 14, 2019 5:34 AM |
Good God people, she was a co-worker from 20 plus years ago. I don't remember much about my coworkers from 10 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 14, 2019 6:33 AM |
What r79 said.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 14, 2019 7:16 AM |
Candi had an active twat. Married to Mr Manera, fucked Clint Ritchie, married again, who kbows what else was down there. I’ve been married to my Helmut for 50 years.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 14, 2019 3:49 PM |
[quote] Granted it's not like her death made any of the big news outlets,
Actually it did spread through all the entertainment non-soap websites. And still nothing from the AMC cast, so that is even more shocking

Any comment from Kate Collins who as the beloved iconic Natalie was Donna's best friend?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 14, 2019 4:14 PM |
Matbe there’s a reason why no one is speaking about it. They don’t care.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 14, 2019 4:24 PM |
Someone posted years ago on an old AMC thread that they had been a waitress who waited on Candi during her AMC heyday, and this person said that Candi was a major bitch. This was posted when the show was still on, so it was a number of years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 14, 2019 6:05 PM |
Nothing from Liz "Emily Ann" Vassey either.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 14, 2019 6:06 PM |
Has Vasili Bogazianos made a statement yet?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 14, 2019 6:10 PM |
Look at it this way. Would you comment on Candice's death or feel comfortable eulogizing her if you weren't particularly close to her since 1990 whatever? That's all it is.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 15, 2019 12:37 AM |
Has FakeNina made a statement?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 15, 2019 1:12 AM |
I can't understand why Liz Vassey hasn't commented. She tweeted about the AMC reunion on Strahan this past week and corresponded with Cady that they made Entertainment Weekly, so AMC still has a strong place in her heart. Yet no mention of Candi's passing. I don't understand it.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 15, 2019 10:00 PM |
R92 and she commented on when Matthew Cowles (Billy Clyde) died
My guess is that maybe towards the end Candi found religion and maybe became a bit too right-wing for some? Just a guess.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 15, 2019 10:07 PM |
New article on Candi death and Liz Vassey is quoted
Not sure if this is an old quote, recycled for this article. or the reporter contacted Liz for comment, but here it is
Actress Liz Vassey -- who starred on All My Children from 1989 to 1991 as Donna's stepdaughter and who moved to New York with her mother from Florida for the role -- remembers Candice being motherly toward her.
Vassey says, "I was 16 years old, and Candi was pretty much the first person I met on set. ... Candi was so welcoming and so loving ... and she opened her heart and opened her apartment, and she just took us in like she was part of the family."
She adds, "I was a kid when I met Candi. ... I believe that you learn from people in those situations, and you learn how to act and you learn how to treat other people. I'm forever grateful for her kindness, and I never forgot it."
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 15, 2019 10:11 PM |
OK thank you, r94. Liz Vassey is officially off my shit-list.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 15, 2019 10:37 PM |
Candi’s pussy stank.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 16, 2019 9:49 AM |
Happened to see Candi perform in a reading of the London musical, “Windy City”. This was back in the 80’s and took place in someone’s luxurious Upper West Side apartment. Girl could certainly belt out a tune.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 16, 2019 1:29 PM |
I waited on her once in the late 80s. Sweet lady.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 16, 2019 2:27 PM |
Clint's breath reeked of Candi after one of their tawdry lunchtime trysts. Unless he gargled with listerine, I wouldn't kiss him in front of the cameras ATALL!
by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 16, 2019 3:18 PM |
I'd rather smell Candi than a bunch of prunes.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | February 16, 2019 4:37 PM |
She had the very active puss.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 16, 2019 4:40 PM |
I have reviewed MANY kisses between Slee and Mr. Ritchie from 1982-1992 on Youtube.
Slee!!! I have to say it. You have basically eaten Candice's pussy!!!!
