Minnie Driver responds after fans comment on her weight: 'I know I'm thin at the moment'

Minnie Driver unintentionally worried fans with an Instagram photo over the weekend. The Speechless star, 48, shared a snap from a photo shoot with One Kings Lane, and while she meant to show off her killer jumpsuit, her followers were more concerned about her thin frame.

“Beautiful, but please eat more,” one person wrote.

“Please don’t get thinner than this,” another Instagram user commented.

“I wish I knew you as a friend, because friends tell friends to ‘maybe [put] on a couple pounds’ you’re scaring me love,” one woman added.

Driver responded directly to the above fan, telling her not to be alarmed. “I promise I’m ok,” the actress exclaimed. “I know I’m thin at the moment , but I’m genuinely not unhealthy. Thank you for you kind concern x”

Driver has talked before about how she loves using social media platforms like Twitter to engage with fans.

“I’m mad about it!” she told ABC News in 2014. “It’s where I get my news from these days. … As a celebrity, it’s having a forum where you can answer the nonsensical rubbish that is written about you or not engage with that. It’s given a little bit of control back. I love it.”

The actress exclaimed that it’s like reading social media postcards from one person to another.

In the same interview, Driver also remarked about how she keeps her fit frame. “I surf and I do ballet,” she said. “I don’t really do the gym at all.”

Is it a dwarf?

by Anonymousreply 1January 22, 2019 1:24 PM

Isn’t she naturally heavy? I just remember her in Circle of Friends, when she was much younger and much heavier.

by Anonymousreply 2January 22, 2019 1:52 PM

She won't be able to stick anything up her twat and steal the silverware now.

by Anonymousreply 3January 22, 2019 2:10 PM

She could afford to lose a few.

by Anonymousreply 4January 22, 2019 2:44 PM

I would have responded, “I bet every single one you is fat. So, please if you have nothing nothing nice to say, shut the fuck up.”

by Anonymousreply 5January 22, 2019 2:53 PM

I like her. I hope she didn't have to put out for Harvey.

by Anonymousreply 6January 22, 2019 2:55 PM

Being too beautiful is an even worse curse. Condole me.

by Anonymousreply 7January 22, 2019 3:19 PM

Jesus, she really is emaciated. And I know her jaw has always been large, but it's getting even bigger...possible sign of bulimia?

by Anonymousreply 8January 22, 2019 3:23 PM

Fat Fraus are professional concern trolls. They try to gaslight anyone who isn't obese into thinking they're *dangerously* fit.

by Anonymousreply 9January 22, 2019 3:24 PM

She looks fine. The concern trolls are weird.

You realize that Circle of Friends was a quarter of a century ago R2? She lost weight immediately after and has been rail thin ever since. She looks like she does serious yoga and Pilates. Leave her the fuck alone, you fat cunts.

by Anonymousreply 11January 22, 2019 3:27 PM

She probably lost weight for a role.

by Anonymousreply 12January 22, 2019 3:27 PM

Oh fuck off, r11.

by Anonymousreply 13January 22, 2019 3:28 PM

You fuck you off, you stupid old queen. Jesus, the stupid on here.

by Anonymousreply 14January 22, 2019 3:37 PM

BLOCKED.

by Anonymousreply 15January 22, 2019 3:39 PM

r14 the stupid is from invasive fraus.

by Anonymousreply 16January 22, 2019 3:41 PM

If you don't watch your figure, nobody else will.

by Anonymousreply 17January 22, 2019 3:43 PM

Women her age (48) need to put on a few to smooth out the wrinkles and add softness. She just looks haggard and scrawny.

by Anonymousreply 18January 22, 2019 3:44 PM

r18 weighs 298 but puts 180 on her driver's license.

by Anonymousreply 19January 22, 2019 3:47 PM

She's always had that giant head like a character from Miss Peach so she probably doesn't even realize she's becoming a Thinspiration.

I thought I read that she's actually naturally on the slimmer side, but put on weight for a few roles earlier in her career.

As for r18, that sentiment is echoed by many, most notably Catherine Deneuve:

[quote]At a certain age, you have to choose between your face and your ass.

by Anonymousreply 21January 22, 2019 3:52 PM

she still has fans?

by Anonymousreply 22January 22, 2019 5:38 PM

Yes, r22.

by Anonymousreply 23January 24, 2019 2:15 PM

She put on weight for the role in Circle of Friends. She wasn't that heavy naturally.
