Favorite Progresso Soup?

I loved the escarole soup but now I havnt seen it in a long time. My husband likes the macaroni bean.

The Split Pea / Bacon soup, with crunched up crackers, and a bottle of chilled Fruit Punch Gator, is the perfect hangover remedy (enjoyed in bed).

I have hardly ever put sugar in tomato sauce.

Even for a canned soup, they suck. Bland and flavorless with lots of chunky texture. OK if you are a health nut used to shitty tasting food, not ok if you have a normal or highly developed taste for good food.

Current favourites are Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and Cheese Tortellini. Also, any of their split pea soups. I agree that they should stop with the sugar in the tomato based soups, though.

I too, echo this lament. I didn't know there is a Butternut Squash variety. It looks intriguing. I like plain Split Pea with a handful or two of nacho chips, Mushroom, and their Tomato varieties but have to add around 2 oz. of half and half per bowl to satisfy me along with a 1/3 of a sleeve of saltines.

I like the butternut squash soup, too. It is a little thin so I usually put some white beans in it to make it filling. But it has more flavor and doesn't have that baby food consistency of other butternut squash soups I've gotten at the grocery store.

I don't know why I've never thought to try their split pea soup before, but I will get some.

On the other hand they really do have some gross soups. The beef/vegetable is like a sloppy can of dog food.

I like their bean soups, and lentil. Usually, the lentil is on sale and I stock up.

Some of the prepared soups you can buy in the supermarket (either hot or cold) are pretty good, but they're a lot more expensive.

There's no butternut squash soup on their website. Are you sure they still make it (or if they ever did?) I love butternut squash soup, but I usually make my own.

Wow I've never seen the butternut squash soup in my store. But I like the chicken sausage gumbo and chicken and dumplings.

Meh -- loaded with sodium and carbs. How hard is it to make a pot of your own soup and freeze the leftover? You'll be eating much healthier than with this canned Progresso dreck.

The Chicken and Wild Rice makes a great cold remedy if you add a little fresh ginger and garlic, a spoonful of chili paste and a squeeze of lemon. That's my favorite.

Progresso New England Chowder is sooo good. I haven’t had it outside of Progresso so can’t compare. I had the chicken pot pie soup for lunch today, and it’s also very good

I don't worry about the soap being full of sodium because I don't eat it regularly.

I only eat it if I'm sick during the winter.

It's a quick comfort food when I have a cold or flu.

CREAMY TOMATO BASIL

Dump in a bowl. Add a lot of black pepper. Add a few dashes of Texas Pete. Stir.

Blast in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Dump some cheesy garlic croutons on top. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar. Microwave another 2 minutes.

VOILA!

Tomato Basil is their worst soup. All I can taste is the dried basil, an herb that has no reason for being.

R71... A supermarket where I shop, makes their own homemade soups. A pint is $7.00, pricy, but they're delicious.. and I can get two meals out of it. I like Progresso soups, too.

I like to doctor up their lentil soup, with sliced pieces of smoked kielbasa, chopped fresh garlic, and a dash of olive oil... with a little salt and fresh ground pepper. It's one of my favorite, easy meals.
