I just read about this today and I'm surprised this story was barely picked up. There are some shocking allegations in this article.
SMILF creator and Time's Up advocate Frankie Shaw bullied co-star into showing bare breasts
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 21, 2019 8:20 AM |
Slut!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 17, 2019 2:14 AM |
and Rosie called the studio to report her!!!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 17, 2019 2:46 AM |
Like most bullies, this woman is careful when picking her victims. She picks the nobodies, not an established star like Rosie.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 17, 2019 3:05 AM |
Everyone knows about Frankie Shaw and her obsession with Hollywood climbing and careerism. Much more will come out. She's a gross person, much like Lena Dunham, though far more sinister and wicked.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 21, 2019 5:48 AM |
She and Rosie were on with Hoda on the Today show and Hoda asked about the controversy. She had such a fake rehearsed answer. Something like "I'm so glad you asked that. I'm new to this and learning." Then she tried to deflect it all by discussing how she had 50 percent of her directors be women. I sounded like Harvey Weinstein and how when the rape charges came out he said something like BUT I'm against guns so it is ok.
Rosie sat there diplomatically but who knows what she really thinks about the whole mess.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 21, 2019 5:58 AM |
Times Up is a farce, created by Hollywood to avoid further damage from the Weinstein/#metoo. They don’t really care about changing anything, Hollywood is just trying to save face. So I’m not surprised in the least a supporter of ‘Times Up’ has been accused.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 21, 2019 3:03 PM |
R6 here. I would say if someone supports ‘Times Up’ it’s a red flag.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 21, 2019 3:04 PM |
Is Rosie a producer? Does she have a financial stake in the success of the show beyond her salary as an actress?
If more bad news about this woman comes out and it is reported that Rosie knew about it but did and said nothing....that'd be bad for Rosie.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 21, 2019 3:07 PM |
Rosie spoke to the network.
[quote] Toward the end of production on SMILF’s season two in August, sources say O’Donnell contacted Showtime executive Amy Israel as well as executive producer Scott King to express concern about a chaotic and troubled set. Insiders say O’Donnell herself did not clash with Shaw, but the veteran performer became concerned about a number of issues, particularly Shaw’s treatment of fellow actress Samara Weaving.
Something much more serious had to have happened for Samara Weaving to quit a steady gig. Unless she got another job and wanted to find a way out of her SMILF contract.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 21, 2019 3:23 PM |
Her show is now cancelled and her overall deal with ABC Studios has been suspended without pay
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 9, 2019 1:35 AM |
Sorry, but the article rang true to me. The girl sounds like a snakey bitch. Very much a Boston bitch. Glad it's cancelled. And the investigation must have revealed some bad shit.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 9, 2019 1:41 AM |
The second i saw the title i had a feeling it was going to be about Samara 😔

It's because the culprit is female, of course. Imagine if it turned out a male actor or producer had bullied an actress into showing her breasts. These stories only gain notoriety if they serve the cultural-feminist need to feed into female grievance and humiliate men.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 9, 2019 12:42 PM |
And this show was a hit for Showtime- AND they had plans to have her helm the Bell Jar series about Sylvia Plath.
Can you imagine what this investigation found???
If it wasn't "THAT" bad they could have found her a co-executive producer or a show runner to take over some duties and take control over the set-
They didn't even bother.
I despise a woman who treats other women like garbage. What a hypocrite.
I hope that more comes out. She gives off really bad vibes. I can't put my finger on it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 9, 2019 1:35 PM |
And mind you, they were location scouting for Season 3-
And I don't think the show cost that much to produce (I am sure Season 3 would have cost more due to the UK setting)
And there is also something not right about Boston in terms of tv/film production. The productions always seem toxic. I have a few connections to Boston produced films through work, and it seems yucky.
Remember that Top Chef season in Boston? MY god, those teamsters made the entire show's stars miserable as well as the production.
Not a fan of Boston, if you can't tell. Extremely small city filled with sociopaths.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 9, 2019 1:38 PM |
Ordering the crew to turn on the monitors during the sex scene after the actor and directors were assured they were turned off is beyond the pale.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 9, 2019 1:54 PM |
She’s a beautiful woman but she has classic female sociopath face: the look of the snake as it wonders how big it needs to open it’s jaws to swallow you whole.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 9, 2019 1:55 PM |
r17 She's average - not even close to beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 9, 2019 2:09 PM |
R18 I think she’s above average and yes r17 pic, she looks like a real cunt
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 9, 2019 2:12 PM |
People from Boston are such garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 9, 2019 2:13 PM |
She has white trash face and looks a bit older than her age, 32.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 9, 2019 2:14 PM |
R20 already knew that thanks to Marky Mark.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 9, 2019 2:14 PM |
I despise it. Patriot Fans , Boston, all of it. I lived in the back bay for 3 years and within a month of learning about the mentality and HOW SMALL the city actually was, I was +good+.
Great city for hospitals and a great place to go to school. That's it.
She reeks of Boston women that I have known.
And I stand by that it is one of the most racist cities in America. The N word was thrown around AT WORK all the time by men. I could not believe it.
I will say that the Boston cops I met were all decent and very nice. My apt was robbed and thanks to WONDERFUL neighbors (I had these awesome neighbors upstairs. gorgeous couple- mid 20's- NOT Very Boston at all- they heard the break in and thanks to them I got my stuff back at the police station! It was clear that I was gay, and the cops could not have been cooler.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 9, 2019 2:18 PM |
R21, I thought that she was 37-
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 9, 2019 2:18 PM |
There is a new contingent of Boston based film crews thanks to the tax incentives- I would say they shoot 2-3 films per year.
My dealings with them have been interesting to say the least.
A lot of assholes. I think they think that they have made it in Hollywood and never have to leave their shitty city.
The grips and those guys are cool as fuck. Very down to earth.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 9, 2019 2:21 PM |
She has cleft lip/palate scar on her upper lip.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 9, 2019 2:24 PM |
r24 Interesting: Wikipedia says she was born in 1981 but Google says it was 1986.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 9, 2019 2:24 PM |
I was so glad to see this cunt have to pay for her misdeeds. I thought she was gonna get a pass. I read about it a few places when it happened, but then they went ahead and released the new season as though nothing had occurred. You know if she was a man, Season 2 would have never seen the light of day.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 9, 2019 2:30 PM |
AND I HOPE MORE DETAILS COME OUT
She apparently had a lot of people feeling like shit and intimidated- from writers to actors.
Fuck that shit. Done with toxic bosses myself-

They’re bringing up the Michael Jackson stuff again to distract from ongoing present-day abuses.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 9, 2019 2:45 PM |
What exactly did she do? Lots of accusations of a hostile work environment, but no real details.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 9, 2019 2:52 PM |
Give it time R31.
Per the article, the staffers were scared of her. Says alot.
Only one defending her was the dude. Of course.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 9, 2019 2:56 PM |
R32 But was it like “If a man is a tough boss it’s fine, but if it’s a woman she’s a bitch” situation or an “Amy Klobuchar employer reign of terror, steals your lunch salad and eats it with a comb” situation? I hope those details come out.

The double standards couldn't be more obvious. On Twitter, people are mourning the end of this feminist show and praising the abuser.
Imagine what the victims of her bullying and creepiness feel like reading those comments.

If the ratings hadn't dropped 70% from the last season Showtime/ABC Productions would have just installed a new showrunner and just retained Shaw as the lead and a producer. The accusations were a bad look, but if the show was a ratings winner Showtime would have worked around the situation.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 10, 2019 8:56 PM |
So is she over? What are the chances of her ever employed in Hollywood again?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 10, 2019 9:58 PM |
r42 From the way people, including #MeToo supporters, are reacting - by showering sympathy on HER rather than her victims - I doubt she's over. She's just going to lay low for a bit and before the end of the year she'll be ready to go again.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 10, 2019 11:27 PM |
She was bullied and considered an ugly duckling all her life, very few friends, guys wouldn't go near her, and she was a bull dyke sports playing nobody .... and now that she got some fame and money and Hollywood, she's a total cunt and a poisonous human. It happens to 99% of the people in the movie industry. Frankie was a "eat lunch girl" in high school from what I heard so it's no surprise she's wicked now. She's essentially James Franco -- who was a bum all his life until he became famous. They all are so fucked up from being losers growing up they become trash and settle scores and treat everyone terribly because THEY FINALLY CAN.

Who is showering sympathy on her, R43?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 11, 2019 1:42 AM |
r47 Um, people on Twitter, like I said. They're mostly not famous people, not sure it would be helpful to name them here. But here's one example below.
But also Rosie O'Donnell as you can see above.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 11, 2019 6:42 AM |
Today's episode was pretty good
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 11, 2019 7:49 AM |
Funny, she has classic "mean girl" face. Not surprised at all.
I watched the show for Rosie but basically ended up fast forwarding every scene she wasn't on on season 2. Ugly show full of trash characters, acting and talking like trash. They managed to make sex, marriage and family look repulsive. Shit show.
Rosie is smashing though as an actress. I would love to see her in a good series or good movie.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | March 11, 2019 11:56 AM |
I looked at the comments on Rosie's twitter and I actually don't think those people know anything about what happened. They're just reacting to the show being canceled.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 11, 2019 3:21 PM |
Frankie posted a bunch of women who worked on the show and another for Women's Day blah blah blah .... why hasn't she owned up and come clean?
She said she went from directing short movies in her basement to being in charge of crews of 218 people on a set as a way of saying she wasn't ready for it and felt overwhelmed by it all.
I wonder if she's not taking responsibility because she's half Jewish.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 11, 2019 6:55 PM |
This Shaw sounds like a real piece of work.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 11, 2019 7:09 PM |
Does any regular character supporting actress working on a premium cable series expect to NOT show her breasts and ass ?
Even Dana Brody on Homeland finally had to show the goods as soon as she turned 18.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 11, 2019 7:23 PM |
Dana got her baps out on Homeland?! I know she did in the terrible movie White Girl.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 11, 2019 11:27 PM |
R44 what’s an “eat lunch girl”?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 12, 2019 4:31 PM |
I want to hear more dirt on this chick. She looks like a sociopath
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 12, 2019 9:09 PM |
Why hasn't she made an apology? Does she think she was done wrong about her show being cancelled?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 14, 2019 6:41 PM |
If you don't want to show your titties, don't show them. But if you're hoping to work in Hollywood, you're going to be expected to show your titties for the camera. That's how they make their money in Hollywood.
Deal with it.

by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 14, 2019 7:00 PM |
I'm very confused about the state of her life and career at the moment. In lieu of this show being cancelled, what becomes of Frankie Shaw? She was going to be fast tracked to major directing jobs and higher profile acting gigs as well as her developing her own content, but now?
She was a basketball playing single mom from South Boston whose baby daddy married a woman from Australia, so she's written a highly personal show and one wonders if she's got any other ideas considering she dumped her entire life into SMILF.
What will happen to her?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 15, 2019 8:01 PM |

These autobiographical type writers usually have one hit and never do much of note afterwards. They draw from a real, deep place the first and run out of things to say. They've already depicted their parents, friends, enemies, lovers, and children, so there's not much else to talk about. It's like they only got into the business to exorcise their demons and, once they're out, they have nothing left to say. I've seen it with screenwriters, actors, playwrights, directors, musicians, etc. It's unfortunate, but some artists only have so much to say.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 15, 2019 9:22 PM |
Frankie Shaw can't own her error and misbehavior. It will be an acknowledgment. She will deny or not comment. You think Harvey is going to say "Yep, I done raped many many women"?
This below quote is sad and maddening. Makes you wonder how many of these other fake actresses are full of shit.
“She uses this idea of being feminist and a progressive as camouflage." -- anonymous, SMILF staffer
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 16, 2019 9:46 PM |
So, details never really came out beyond a couple of incidents. Like many, my experience of people from Boston is that they're awful scumbags and generally racists, but putting black writers together to write for black characters doesn't seem like a bad idea. I think most of us would prefer to see characters who are not white heterosexual men written by people who are not white heterosexual men. Yanking her own top down and trying to bully the actress into breaching the terms of her contract is, of course, very unprofessional. I can see how, as a fellow actress and as a specific personality, Shaw might have thought that 1) showing skin wasn't or shouldn't be a big deal, and 2) that baring her own tits might have seemed like a funny sort of pep talk to her. But she wasn't her colleague in that situation, she was the other actress' boss. I wonder if that blurred understanding of her role in the hierarchy on set contributed to these other problems alluded to, but never described. Has she completely torpedoed her career?
Shaw pings like all of Canada combined, so it's really confusing that all of her relationships seem to be with men. Also, she has a different nose in every single picture I've seen of her and I don't understand how that's possible unless she just has a drawer full of prosthetic noses and picks one to wear at random every day.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 18, 2019 3:32 PM |
This Frankie Shaw person is lying about her age. She's 43 if I was ever a day.
