Not a great day for the film.

This is a fucking lie. It's also called PricewaterhouseCoopers now (PwC), so you just gave up your game.
If anyone should beat Ali for the Oscar, it should be Richard E. Grant who delivers a pitch perfect in Can You Ever Forgive Me? I'm actually not counting him out for a surprise win.

The movie overall got mediocre reviews and wasn’t a hit. Being the sole nominee for your movie is always difficult, lessened somewhat if you’re a veteran with an overdue narrative.
That said, he’ll still be nominated.

There's no way in hell that Chalamet came last place in voting in a category that featured in it Denzel Washington for the barely-seen Roman J. Israel, Esq. You can't even lie believably.

R27 the number of gay employees who are privy to the voting count can't be very many. When you factor in other attributes like spending working hours trolling Chalamet threads, being 600 pounds, it'd be easy to identify you. But not one person believes you work for PWC, reject.

R329 he's intelligent and relatively new to this. So husband sensitivity causes the nerves to overreact sometimes. It's endearing. He's a breath of fresh air compared to most actors.

Honey at R33, you're not an insider if you're reporting that Chalamet received the lowest number of votes in Best Actor last year. There's not a fucking chance in hell that that is true.
I'm not a "pedo cunt" but I am a fan of his CMBYN performance and thought it was the clear best in that category. You're making up a job that you don't have. I would hasten to guess that you actually have no job whatsoever.

by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 10, 2019 5:11 PM |
I find him very talented and compelling on screen and I'd had for him to peak too soon. You ever notice how, once a lot of people win their Oscar, they stop taking as many risks in their work and get boring? After all, what do they have to prove now? I think Oscars should be delayed and not given to anyone under 30. It's not like people ever win for their true best performance anyway. They usually win because it's "their year" or they're long overdue. If Glenn Close wins her Oscar this year (and I hope to God she does), it's not because The Wife is wonderful movie or even her best work (although, she IS excellent in it). She'll win because, after a lifetime of stellar work, she fucking deserves it.

Perhaps they saw through the vanity theatre school performance Chalamet was putting on? His big Oscar scene was essentially what he was doing on stage in Prodigal Son.
It is strange though. He was nominated for every significant award leading up to the Oscars.

[QUOTE]And was a juvenile delinquent who terrorized his fellow apartment dwellers growing up.
What are the details on this?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 22, 2019 4:02 PM |
It was on yet one of the millions of Chalamet threads, r57.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 22, 2019 4:04 PM |
Well I'm hardly going to go through all of them, so can you not just post a summary?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 22, 2019 4:05 PM |
Summary especially for r59: he lives in an artist-subsidized building and has all his life where he was a terror who bullied other kids and had some kind of rage issues.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 22, 2019 4:09 PM |
How much of an absolute pussy does someone have to be that Timothee Chalamet can bully them? He'd snap in half in a stiff breeze. I assume that's why you were trying to avoid summarising it, because it's sounds so ludicrous it's impossible to believe.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 22, 2019 4:15 PM |
based on what he has actually said himself, there may be a bit of truth because he's admitted to having a lot of issues growing up (behavioural by sounds of it) but, shock horror, people grow up and aren't the same as they were when they were kids
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 22, 2019 4:18 PM |
r62, you don't think small kids can be bullies--especially to smaller kids?
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 22, 2019 4:21 PM |
Maybe it's all because he can't act.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 22, 2019 4:25 PM |
That rap video makes him look like a little would-be thug.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 22, 2019 4:29 PM |
R64 Oh so now it's just younger kids? Because before you were saying he terrorized fellow apartment dwellers - but now you're reducing that down to kids smaller than him? I was just expecting more than some random claim he was a bully, you oversold it.
I am slightly hoping we do see a little breakdown from him. Despite the act it does seem he has an ego, and he's played the game, so be interesting to see if he reacts to the snub in anyway.
R61 It is funny how his fangirls act like they adore him, but hate so many different parts of his personality that they try and pretend it either doesn't exist or is an act. God, please let him be seen with the Weeknd again so they have a fit.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | January 22, 2019 4:29 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 22, 2019 4:31 PM |
I didn’t say just younger kids—you did, r67. You said someone who’s small can’t be a bully. Awfully triggered, aren’t you?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 22, 2019 4:31 PM |
Timmy as a bully is hilarious. I like to picture him making boys suck his dick.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 22, 2019 4:37 PM |
R69 You said smaller - given he's already a wraith, it's hard to imagine much smaller than him without going younger. I also never said someone who's small can't be a bully. I said I found it a ludicrous idea in this case because TC is so weedy and pathetic.
As for being triggered...
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 22, 2019 4:39 PM |
R70 It'd be the only way he'd be getting "dome daily" as he claimed in his little rap.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 22, 2019 4:40 PM |
I was surprised he was snubbed but he still has got a career most, if not all, actors under 25 would give their balls for.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 22, 2019 4:46 PM |
r73 has he? He's never had a box office hit.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 22, 2019 4:48 PM |
He has his pick of good film roles and is rich. Most young actors are poor or lucky to get a guest spot on NCIS
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 22, 2019 5:01 PM |
No, r71, you're the one who blew it up and said it all can't be true because of his size. Do you really doubt smaller kids can't be bullies?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 22, 2019 5:42 PM |
How is Chalamet's ego handling it?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 22, 2019 5:52 PM |
I was convinced he'd get a nomination. He is very talented but I am sure there will be lots more opportunities so no need to despair.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 22, 2019 6:03 PM |
So where are those imbeciles that claimed that power of CMBYN from last year was enough to propel Swiss Chalet to second Oscar nomination?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 22, 2019 7:17 PM |
R76 I never said just because of his size though. That's just a strawman you invented. We're not talking about smaller kids in general, we're talking about one in particular. The idea he was a bully is ludicrous, and comes from a single source - a random poster on DL.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 22, 2019 8:57 PM |
r80 knows ALL. (No, actually, he knows no more than any other random poster.)
Anything else you'd like to weigh in on, r80? For instance, Timmie's childhood? You speak with such authority.

r82, that was on a thread where a few people who live in his building and know the family and/or I think live on his floor mentioned his history. It didn't come from me, you moron. If you choose not to believe people who live in the building and say they know, that's certainly your business. Someone here asked me what I remember reading, and I'm recounting it. Got it?
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 22, 2019 9:20 PM |
[QUOTE]If you choose not to believe people who claimed to have lived in the building without giving any proof
FTFY
For someone who didn't say it, you're getting awfully worked up over someone not believing it.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 22, 2019 9:23 PM |
You're hammering away as if I said it, when I didn't, r84. You're the one pursuing this. Sounds like you're the one getting worked up about anyone criticizing your boy Chalamet.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | January 22, 2019 9:25 PM |
R85 Ah yes, my boy Chalamet, who I've mocked in this very thread. Meanwhile, you're the one apparently following all of his threads to get these claims of bullying.
And no, I'm "hammering" (really, I can only imagine how delicate you must be if you think any of this has been hammering) away because you're just silly. You make this claim he terrorised people and is a juvenile delinquent, only reluctantly give some detail, and then try lying about what I said. Then, most hypocritically, you accuse me of acting as if I know everything about his life, when you're the one posting about his terrorising ways insisting they must have happened.
Like I said upthread, you oversold it. You tried too hard, with your talk of terrorising ways and juvenile delinquency.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 22, 2019 9:35 PM |
r86, it's pretty clear I was answering someone's question about what I read in another thread. Clearly, you have a dog in this race and I don't.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 22, 2019 9:37 PM |
R87 Except your claims of him being a juvenile delinquent who was terrorising people came before any questions were asked.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 22, 2019 9:40 PM |
Right, r88--based on what I read in another thread. I said that when someone asked.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 22, 2019 9:43 PM |
R89 Exactly, afterwards. However, before you posted that message, it looked like you were claiming it as fact. See how that works, or do you expect people to read your mind in addition to your posts?
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 22, 2019 9:47 PM |
Hunty @ r90, people can write whatever they want here, however they want. You think you're some kind of prosecuting attorney here, and yet, oh no, you're not triggered at all--that's why you go on and on about it, swearing it just can't be--he's too small to be a bully! Why don't we talk about your weird obsession with Timmie that you claim you don't have?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | January 22, 2019 9:53 PM |
R91 An obsession, eh? I hope all these strawmen you create at least make you feel less lonely.
"Triggered", "hammering", "prosecuting attorney" - you really must live in some bubble if you think any posts here have reached anywhere near those levels.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | January 22, 2019 9:58 PM |
