Hillary Duff ain't no Sharon Tate
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 4, 2019 2:21 PM |
Travesty in the looks comparison department. However, Tate was as bad of an actress as Duff, so I guess it evens out a bit.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 4, 2019 2:28 PM |
Horrid trailer.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 4, 2019 2:34 PM |
She looks like the Party City version of Sharon Tate.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 4, 2019 2:41 PM |
I guess if it goes straight to Netflix I guess it can’t get any Razzies.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 4, 2019 2:44 PM |
She looks more like Sharon than fug Margot Robie. But this movie? A comedy?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 4, 2019 2:45 PM |
Taste? What's that?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 4, 2019 2:45 PM |
This looks soooo cheesy.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 4, 2019 2:58 PM |
So they're exploiting some real life poor murdered pregnant woman's real life tragedy for some disposable sensationalist POS horror movie?
There ought to be laws against such things.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 4, 2019 3:02 PM |
Duff is embarrassing, but being paired with a real life tragedy is completely tasteless.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 4, 2019 3:06 PM |
"You know how bitchy fags can be."
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 4, 2019 3:13 PM |
Hillary is certainly pretty but she’s a shrimp and not in the same league as Tate was in the looks department. Plus making a horror movie based on a real murder within living memory of the victim’s family is an unbelievably vulgar thing to do.
Margot Robbie, fug? Someone is trolling. She’s absolutely stellar.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 4, 2019 3:14 PM |
Jonathan Bennett has to play scarf and pinkie-finger fairies now?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 4, 2019 3:15 PM |
Is this some Lifetime or Hallmark production?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 4, 2019 3:34 PM |
Abominable.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 4, 2019 4:12 PM |
Not bad enough to be good.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 4, 2019 4:19 PM |
I think even Charlie would be offended.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 4, 2019 4:30 PM |
To use a phrase that is currently way too overused: You can't make this stuff up!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 4, 2019 4:53 PM |
r3 Sharon only made seven films and none of them except for "Eye of the Devil" required any great acting talent. In the latter she is actually quite good.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 4, 2019 5:29 PM |
Don't shit on my craft.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 4, 2019 5:36 PM |
No one better mention this to Aaron Carter.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 4, 2019 6:20 PM |
Duff looks better than I thought.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 4, 2019 6:23 PM |
It's a step up at least from Lindsay Lohan playing Marilyn Monroe.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 4, 2019 6:25 PM |
R26 She really was a lovely girl.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 4, 2019 7:09 PM |
Duff looks like she’s playing Lohan playing Sharon.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 4, 2019 7:28 PM |
It's weird that her voice has the same inflection that younger women use today even though this was set in the 1960s. She's also too big/botoxed/filled to physically able pull the role off.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 4, 2019 7:28 PM |
There are no words for this. First of all, it looks like they showed the entire film in the trailer. Second, why is is called The Haunting of Sharon Tate? I didn't notice any ghosts. Third, the production values scream straight to Lifetime.
It's made by the same guy who inflicted Halloween 6 and the last two awful Amityville movies upon us. Sure gives struggling filmmakers hope. Yes, kids. You too can become a filmmaker.
It's certainly in poor taste as well, but horror movies kinda need to be in poor taste at times. They probably just thought it'd be a nice hook to use a familiar crime and name. I'm not forgiving them for it, but I can see why they did it. Maybe they're hoping to capitalize on the upcoming Tarantino film. I, for one, have no desire to see this crime drudged up again. Do something similar, but different like The Strangers. That felt very Manson-like to me, but they didn't use the real victims' names.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 4, 2019 8:58 PM |
Who was the casting director? The same lunatic from "Liz & Dick"?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 4, 2019 9:01 PM |
this one of 3 coming out on the 50th anniversary looks to be in very bad taste. All 3 will no doubt get the facts all twisted. The trailer implies Sharon was happy she was having house guests Abigail Folger and Frykowski be her houseguests. WHile she had no problems with Folger, Frykowski was very very problematic and did a great many drugs and had drug dealers on the premises alot of the time. Sharon was gone from april to early July making a movie and her guests were living in her house and when she returned it was caos.. People/strangers were coming onto the property at all hrs. She locked up the gates but it didnt help much. the last month of her life she was frightened living in her home. Her husband paid no attn and wanted them to stay and Polanski preferred to party and fuck around in Europe while his wife was 8 months pregnant sat home in that situation. WHile Frykowski had no direct bearing on the killers coming on to the premises he added to the overall sleaze factor reputation the house had at that time.

R32 I would have moved out.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 5, 2019 9:17 AM |
Looks horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 5, 2019 9:25 AM |
MOVE !
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 5, 2019 12:30 PM |
Actually it doesn’t look as bad as you think it would and she is at least appearance wise a better Sharon Than Margot. You get the feeling Quentin didn’t care hiring someone who looked like her or least investing a little effort in hair and makeup.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 5, 2019 12:39 PM |
Sharon had dreams that she would be murdered, thus the title. Why are they playing Jay Sebring as gay? Sebring was a hairdresser but he was heterosexual.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 5, 2019 12:39 PM |
She's no Sharon Tate, but that's the best Hillary Duff has ever looked.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 5, 2019 12:43 PM |
Wasn’t Jay Sebring a former beau of Sharon’s ?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 5, 2019 1:00 PM |
he was engaged to Sharon for a year before she married Polanski
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 5, 2019 1:20 PM |
R38 the best? She'd look even better without the botox/fillers.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 5, 2019 4:02 PM |
She is only 31. Why would she need fillers and Botox ?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 5, 2019 5:19 PM |
R42 good question. Why do any of them need that shit?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 5, 2019 5:27 PM |
Duff is good at the affected baby voice thing
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 7, 2019 2:40 AM |
I think it looks great,
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 7, 2019 2:46 AM |
[quote]I, for one, have no desire to see this crime drudged up again
I think you mean “dredged” and you’d better get used to it, because Aug 9 is the 50th anniversary. Besides movies, there are bound to be tv specials and news articles aplenty.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 7, 2019 3:07 AM |
Was Amanda Bynes busy?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 7, 2019 3:14 AM |
The director, Dan Farrands, thinks of himself as a horror icon on the level of Craven, Romero or Carpenter. Expect a VERY cringy press tour.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 7, 2019 3:15 AM |
BUMP
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 8, 2019 4:58 AM |
This looks awful

“These people are a threat to me and my baby...”
That delivery was worse than the greenest, hair model newbie on Passions in 1999.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 5, 2019 3:02 AM |
When does the Tarantino exploitation-fest come out???
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 5, 2019 3:04 AM |
R53 July 26
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 5, 2019 3:06 AM |
Just don't let the camera pan down to Hilary's big wide fat ass...
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 5, 2019 5:46 AM |
OP's link didn't work for me.
I have to admit this trailer scares me. It looks like they're really going to 'go there'.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 5, 2019 5:55 AM |
R21
She was very good in her small role in Eye Of The Devil.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 5, 2019 6:11 AM |
Did they do something with her old lady denture looking teeth? They're so not sexy, and Sharon Tate was gorgeous.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 5, 2019 6:20 AM |
So if I am getting this right...Sharon is shown trying to flee the scene w/ Steve Parent, the young man killed in t he car at the gate? And Sharon is shown being told by Parent about Manson's music? What the hell????????
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 6, 2019 9:18 AM |
Oh how the gays WORSHIP Sharon Tate, murdered starlet!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 6, 2019 11:19 AM |
R60
I've read much about her over the years. One of the things that touched me was how kind and supportive she apparently was to her gay friends.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 6, 2019 1:59 PM |
Hillary Duff is a terrible choice for that role
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 6, 2019 3:20 PM |
Duff at least slightly recalls Sharon's beauty. Margot Robie is all wrong as Sharon.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 6, 2019 6:49 PM |
For some reason OP's link didn't work for me so here is another one.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 6, 2019 7:36 PM |
I've met Dan Farrands through mutual friends and he's always seemed very nice and down to earth. Doesn't seem to have a big ego or anything. The movie doesn't look great, though.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 7, 2019 3:48 AM |
R66 you've never seen him around a camera then.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 7, 2019 3:50 AM |
Patty Hearst's daughter is in this?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 7, 2019 9:58 PM |
Is this straight to cable?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 7, 2019 10:07 PM |
Horrible! The murders weren't sick or scary enough so we have to add a psychic "I'm gonna die" angle. I love horror and true crime tales but I'm staying away from this trainwreck
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 7, 2019 10:28 PM |
She was absolutely mesmerizing, Hill Duff will always be Lizzie Mcguire.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 7, 2019 10:53 PM |
Her albums are ok. I think Haylie has had the better career (acting wise).
by Anonymous | reply 72 | May 7, 2019 11:02 PM |
Hilary sampled “Personal Jesus” on her song Reach Out and I like it lmao
by Anonymous | reply 73 | May 7, 2019 11:04 PM |
R73 one of her more raunchier songs. I still love it!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | May 7, 2019 11:09 PM |
R74 it’s surprisingly good!
by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 7, 2019 11:13 PM |
Her song “My Kind” from 2015 should have been bigger. It’s actually a great pop track, but sadly pop is dead. Today’s pop is all hip hop and rap.

Going to the dark side was the only way to get Lori back on screen.

I liked when she had a little extra meat on her bones and she was cute as a button.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 8, 2019 3:42 AM |
R80 she's looked like that for ages. Her "skinny phase" was back in 2006.
