Mickey from The Comeback Appreciation Thread
In the "What’s the single best scene of acting on a tv series? Not the whole series or episode - just one memorably great scene" thread, R381 was an asshole for writing "Gay men like the Comeback because they're represented so well by the mincing hairdresser."
So I'd like to celebrate Mickey and Robert Michael Morris here.
My favorite Mickey moment (S2 E4):
Mickey learns from the assistant director that the new show will have only 6 episodes and replies "6? I was hoping to get 26"
Assistant director: "26? This isn't the Rockford files"
Mickey: "No, it isn't". But the way he delivers the line and the momentary pause after makes it perfect.

Yess may this thread fill up.
I worked with several Mickey’s when I was a PA in the late 70s, early 80s. Every actress showed up on set with her own Mickey and Robert Michael Morris’s performance was perfection. Sorry the dude bros can rattle on about Brando and Pacino but Morris was THE example of an actor not “acting” but just being the character.

Whenever DLers comment about “mama’s mussy getting moist” I think of the various stolen shots of Mickey subtly leering at shirtless Kellan Lutz and the other dude bro on ROOM & BORED.

When they were flying to New York for the Upfronts and there was no ticket for Mickey.....Kudrow and RMM played the scene perfectly.....

The “I Will Survive” scene is a gem.

I believe Mickey’s melenoma (which they introduced from the beginning in a funny scene to show how self involved Valerie was) was true to real life and Robert battled the disease for years until it spread to other organs and took his life.
