Why did Chelsea Handler’s career go straight down the shitter?
Remember when she was everywhere? Books, magazines, talk shows, interviews, appearances? Everyone talked about how funny she was, bought her books, watched her show. ALL OF A SUDDEN, SHE INEXPLICABLY MOVES HER SHOW TO RADIO. Radio.
radio.
FUCKING RADIO?!?!?!
And now it’s like, where’d she go?
Did she piss someone off? Bizarre.

At the time of the launch of her E! show, and during it, she was humping the head of E!. He later dumped her. End story (show).

Yeah, she broke up with that TV executive...it seems pretty obvious.

Too bad, I loved her endless jokes about how Republicans are just GAYS and BOTTOMS!!! Hilarious humor from a liberal point of view!!!

Chelsea is an Alcoholic and she's spends a lot more time off the wagon than on it.

Celebs like her who slept their way to the top but can’t anymore thanks to “wokeness” need a plan B quick.

She relied on a panel who was always way funnier.
I don't want to wish her ill as she's always been pro-gay.

A variety of reasons, including the breakup with the exec mentioned above. And I suspect that she probably pissed off a very large number of powerful people off with her abrasive personality. She seems like the type to take the mouthy broad routine too far and inadvertently make enemies. Like the type who would insult you to your face then chide you for not being able to take a joke. I also think the "foul mouthed hot mess " comedienne thing is starting to become less trendy. No one gives a shit about Whitney Cummings anymore either. One thing I will give her credit for is that she seems to be the type who would be honest about whoring round for jobs. None of this "I was pressured and didn't know how to say no and there was a power imbalance, blah blah blah " nonsense . Her livers got to be wrecked by now though.

2 Broke Girls was sold in syndication for thirty million per season, so Whitney Cummings will be living nicely off that for the rest of her life.

Wasn't she fucking 50 Cent for a while? He must have some money - why not stay with him?

^^ Yes, she was.
Fiddy was a man-about-town at the time. He started dating HAF Ciara on the side. Chelsey had a public meltdown over it and ended up publicly breaking up with him to save face.

She has tried to claim that she deliberately abandoned it all to become an activist.

First off, Handler need never work again. She's written (okay, "authored") 5 best-selling books and hosted 3 different TV shows. Her E! series ran for over 7 years. She's also had bit parts on TV and in movies and had a number of writer and producer credits. Handler may be an opportunist, but she's no idiot, either. Or a slacker.
The notion that she needed or wanted (closet case) 50 Cents' money is laughable. That "relationship" might have provided her with something, but it wasn't a paycheck.
That said, I'm not a fan. Never was.
I think she's a textbook example of snark without genuine smarts, sarcasm without genuine wit, pointless bitchiness (if you will) without insight or a POV.
I'm just glad she's no longer required viewing for gay men, as she (inexplicably) was for a while.

The only time I've ever seen her on Real Time. Loved her.

Most people with their own shows don't need to work after a few years. They keep doing it because it keeps them relevant and feeds their ego. Handler didn't suddenly lose her narcissism, she got kicked to the curb.

She's got a lot of problems. I remember a recurring theme of hers was how much she hated her father. She seemed so disordered that it's impossible to know whether he deserved it or not. Supposedly she once called police falsely accusing him of molestation when they had an argument or something. Pretty fucked up. I've met some people who grew up in homes where both parents are dysfunctional in their own ways, but single out one parent in particular for their resentments. Angelina Jolie is one of these types. Strangely enough, Handlers half Jewish and half Mormon just like Roseanne.

Apparently, her issues about her appearance on air were legendary, R18, according to many associated with her E! series. To the extent that it halted production.
Which is amusing, given that she rarely appeared to comb her hair, moisturize, or consult a professional stylist.
Only someone that rich, entitled, and living in a bubble could allow him/herself to look that bad on TV.

I looked at her IG and she's doing a 5-day New Year's fast. Really? With a face like that, does it even matter if she's fat? What a waste of time and energy.

She can be funny. One of the few stars to be honest about not wanting children, she openly admits that she would be a "terrible mother ". Good for her for being self aware enough not to pop out a couple kids just because it's what everyone else is doing.

I heard her on somebody's pocast recently, damn I don't remember whose... Laura Wasser I think ? Where she admitted that Trump's win "broke her bubble" so much that she realized that after so much time being rich living in sunny LA she didn't know the real world / her country at all and she didn't understand why her reaction was so extreme. She went to therapy to talk about it and THEN when shit started coming up in sessions about her childhood/death of her brother etc, she was hit by a brick wall regarding all the issues she had to fix. Like how she can't have a normal relationship, etc. I thought it was quite honest and not necessarily something she would have been able to admit to even a couple of years ago still. I'm giving Chelsea the benefit of the doubt and look forward to seeing how she evolves in the upcoming years, I think she's genuinely working on herself. I just hope she doesn't get swallowed by depression/addiction. Facing reality after living most of one's life locked in a "whatever, i don't care" attitude can be very brutal.
Now somebody tells Kathy Griffin to do the same and go to therapy STAT

I loved her show but i did think the other guests on her panel were funnier. I loved it when she hosted the mtv movie awards and talked about wanting to sit on Joe Manjello's face. Apparently that pissed off his fiancee at the time and i think they were sitting in the first row lol
