Daria (1997)
I never watched Beavis and Butthead, but its spin-off Daria's humor was more subjective and darker.
Each episode was created in Korea and some took almost a year to complete.
In a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, series co-creator Susie Lewis gave an account of where the characters are presently: Daria moved to New York City and works as a writer on a late-night talk show; Jane also lives in New York City and is still friends with Daria, works as an artist, and married an archaeologist; Trent is a bartender and still plays in a band; Jake and Helen are retired; Quinn has triplets and is estranged from her husband, and runs a YouTube channel about desserts and skin care; Brittany and Kevin married, Brittany works as a television weather girl and cheerleading coach while Kevin is a stay-at-home dad.
In June 2018, MTV announced a reboot of the series, tentatively titled Daria & Jodie.

Her overbearing, intense Mom was similar to the Emily Bishop character on Gilmore Girls, which began a couple years later.

Loved Daria. It could air today and not appear dated.

Trent was the only cartoon character I wanted to sex down.

I love that Daria and Jane wore the same outfit everyday.

Daria had much better music than Beavis and Butthead.

LOVED THIS SHOW! Trent was as fuckable as cartoons get, and the amazingly bad Mystic Spiral performances. Jake and Helen tripping in the woods on poisonous berries, Mr. D'Martino was awesome along with the man hating science teacher. The fashion club, Sandys unyielding bitchery, the padded room Daria got because they moved into the former home of a paranoid schizophrenic.
There was just too much to love in that show.

Daria's sister Quinn was as shallow and superficial as all of the girly voiced Kardashian's.

I love this show mostly for the brilliance of Wendy Hoopes, who provided the voices of Quinn, Jane Lane, AND (best of all) Daria's mother. Those are three VERY different characters, and she could be hilarious voicing any of them.

One of my all-time favorite shows (I'm a big cartoon/animation buff). Very 90s, but also ages well.

For a show that pro-individualistic and anti-conformity, the lack of gay characters and stories on the show was very disappointing.

Ironically, the Quinn character was a joke since the 90s was an empowering time for women in many different fields. Now, women in their 20s to 50s act like naive girly princesses like Quinn.

I was in high school when it came out. It was a must watch. I also liked Beavis & Butthead. But Daria was clearly a cut above.

I vaguely remember watching that show I remember one of those characters saying "oh that Daria is one of those misery chicks." I think someone else called her diarrhea.

R8: Miss Barch was the man hater. She got into a relationship with Mr. O'Neil, the sensitive English teacher. Great show!
For those of you who don't know, the first TV movie Is It Fall Yet? features a bisexual coming onto Jane at her summer art commune.

I love this show and i still think Trent is hot! But i don't know why we need a reboot? Also i had no idea that the actress who played April on Grey's Anatomy voiced one of the girls in the Fashion Club.

The real Janeane Garofalo was far more pro-gay. Daria was constantly on her soap box about every other liberal cause but conspicuously not gay rights. MTV was too chicken-shit to put anything pro-gay in a cartoon for kids. Yes I know Daria wasn't based on or voiced by Janeane, but lots of people thought she was.
