This poor fucking guy. I still think about this story frequently, albeit years old at this point. The indignity of dying like he did makes me genuinely sad. He obviously didn’t live to deal with the shame and everything, but i have this sense of “there but for the grace of god go I”. Not that I’ve used any drugs like he was using, or doing any of the freaky types of sex stuff he was doing that day, but still I really felt (and still feel) sad about his situation. I can’t even imagine how his widow dealt with hearing the lurid circumstances in which her husband died.

The Days Inn in Glendale by Wyndham no longer exists. When the Burrous incident happened, this Days Inn at this location usually mustered about two stars, but only if you didn't find cockroaches in your room.

What's there now is the Glendale Express. The new owners (JPAllen) run two hotels under their OSO Collection brand. They came in and totally refurbished this place.

I don't believe they kept the Chris Burrous Suite on the list of special rooms available.
