Famous Gay Interior Decorators
Yep I know some of you will think “ Hello!!!” But I was thinking of both past and present Interior Decorators who have been celebrated.
I was reading a book on Decorating by Mark Hampton which I love , but then i read on Wiki that he was married to a woman and I was like really ? Then I read he was in business with David Hicks and I was like mmmm.
Just wondered what some people felt were the best and Gayest Decorators

I think the hard part is finding a straight interior decorator. The best: Renzo Mongiardino, Geoffrey Bennison, Michael Taylor, etc.. I don't get Peter Marino - what's with the Biker's gear?

R5 There are many within the field of interior design. However off the top of my head I can't think of many with mainstream fame. Maybe Mario Buatta.
But I doubt an interior designer would go the way of someone like Rachel Ashwell and sell their designs in mainstream outlets to garner mainstream fame.

I can't think of many others: Haines, Syrie Maugham, Sister Parrish... who else?

I seem to remember some story about Billy Baldwin living on Nantucket after he retired. But he was very hard up because he had been cheated by someone handling his money and all the women who used to gather round now had no time for him.
One woman came to visit him and was shocked at how cold his place was in the winter and ending up giving him a blanket to help him keep warm.
Does anyone else remember this?

Do you mean "out" Famous Gay Interior Designers?. Most of the married ones are gay as a goose. I can't remember his name, but there was one who played the married man, but walked around like a Tom of Finland illustration.

BB did live in a cottage behind the Chanticleer Restaurant in Siacconset on Nantucket after he retired, although I don’t know if he did year round. It gets pretty bleak out there in the off season.
