It drives me nuts that Chris Matthews refers to the Trumps as the Romanovs. He is referring to nepotism; but the Romanovs weren’t known for that, in particular. No more than any other royal dynasty. He should instead reference Saddam Hussain, maybe; or the Kennedys, or someone else. There’s nothing about the Romanovs that applies to the Trumps.

The other really stupid thing Chris does frequently is that he’ll reference something iconic in film; or something historic on video, and he’ll say that the subject “keeps saying” whatever. In reality, the subject said the thing once, and idiot Chris has watched it numerous times. He confuses his repeated viewing with a reoccurrence.

For example, he mentioned Claude Rains in Casablanca “who keeps saying that he’s shocked that gambling is going on in Rick’s casino”. He does this all the time, by which I mean, all the time. Not once on a taped show that I rewatch.

I’m sure live TV is really difficult, but Chris is well past his “best by” date.
