According to her, Monroe a also didn't bathe very often and belched and farted a lot (she surmises that might have come from her having a bad gallbladder). Pepitone said that Monroe never wore underwear of any kind and in fact while around her apartment she seldom wore any clothes at all. In fact, when she first met Monroe she was totally nude (Monroe, that is). She said she was talking to some assistants when Monroe came stumbing in the doorway "totally nude."

A lot of Pepitone's memoir is certainly bogus. Despite being barely able to speak English Pepitone relates heartfelt conversations she had with Monroe. She portrays herself as a dear friend of Marilyn's; Marilyn even has a pet name for her: "Baby Lamb." Blech. Anyway, I don't believe any of that, but I do believe Pepitone was probably privy to her habits. Depressed, emotionally disturbed people frequently neglect their hygiene. I think that may have accounted for Marilyn's uncleanliness.

Marilyn didn't eat fried chicken. She liked steak and lamb chops. She liked a side of cottage cheese with her meat; I guess she thought it was healthful. She also liked Italian food. But I've never heard anywhere that she liked fried chicken. LIz Taylor was the fried chicken lover. Her love for fried chicken almost killed her; she almost choked to death on a chicken bone.

regarding lena Pepitones book, yes I believe most of it re her habits. Marilyn always spent most of her time wherever she lived in her bedroom her whole life, she said she felt safer there.................. She ate in bed a great deal. What is wrong with that?
