R50 here. Wow. I’m definitely feeling anxious and have literally lost sleep over the situation, which I’m trying my best to remedy. It’s interesting that the end result appears outside of my control. I wanted to tell a senior woman after I’ve relocated about what’s happened and part of me wonders if she thinks something’s up but has no idea the extent of it. r66, some people I know rent a table in a head shop or crystal shop or alternative shops. They do readings and the like after work and/or on weekends.

Some others also work the gemstones and angel circuit (for want of a better word). There are gem shows and psychic conferences that come through our area 2-3X a year. The people who work those pick up clients there and once word gets out, you can get more clients.

Also, around Halloween, our local bookstore would have card and palm readers come in and give short readings for a minimal charge. It brought in foot traffic and potential clients.

You can also advertise to do "parties". Like have a friend book you to come in to a party and do like 3 card readings on people for $5 and let them know you are available for longer readings or other parties.

Those are all avenues that people I know have taken and it has worked pretty well for them. Especially if you are good, you can build up a clientele pretty quickly.

The drawback to that is sometimes people will start to lean on you too much and call everytime the market fluctuates or their kid gets sick. At that point you will need to get an attack assistant who can field your calls.

If you are in a city like new Orleans, you have a built in audience and the perfect atmosphere.

Any large city will have a wide audience. Even if you are living in a smaller area, some of your clients will be willing to come to you.

Leaving friends will be fraught (I’ve known some of them for as long as I’ve been her, including their kids, three of whom my husband and I have actually helped raise), and my current job basically implies that at least 5 people rely directly on me for their livelihood and at least 15-20 others for a good part of theirs. On a good day I feel as if I’m trapped with no way out; on a good day I play a game where I convince myself I’m in purgatory and will eventually get out. I have a total of 5 decks and the one lady I used to discuss tarot with used a regular deck of playing cards. She learned to read from her mother who also used a regular deck of playing cards.

Holy cannoli Novice, you have a gift with the cards! My father died was ill for 3 years, and died without a will last year. I didn't want to get involved with anyone because of this and am still taking care of estate issues, no thanks to my brother, with whom I had a severe fight, and whom randomly chose a realtor who did some illegal stuff with us. Thankfully, I got us out of that situation and found a good realtor, and we're about to close a sale.

As far as work, yes, it is creative, and I love it. The environment itself is chaotic, but I do like it sometimes, because it brings challenges and keeps the environment fresh. I know that I wouldn't love producing, but after seeing my father's situation and not planning anything for the future retirement wise, (I'm in my mid 50's), I'm kind of panicking. I do have a pension plan, but it's very paltry right now- I'll have to work another at least 15 years for it to be salvageable. At least I can use the sale of the estate to start an IRA (which is not a lot).

Before you use "old" cards, you need to clean them up a bit. Put them in one layer on a cookie sheet and cover them with salt. This will remove the "vibes" they have picked up from their former owner. I usually let mine set for a day like that.

Then sleep with them under your pillow for a week or so. This gets them on your wavelength and attuned to you. I still will put mine under my pillow if I haven't read them in a while.

The thing is, I did not want to really know about Brexit but about Brexit in relation to myself (yes, I am that egocentric). If I take the plunge and do the postgraduate course abroad I would have to leave the UK and since I am not British I would never be able to return with the same rights and conditions I have now. If they decide to revoke article 50 and forget about it then it is the perfect solution, but if however, they go ahead and there is a hard brexit, then I would be stuck in the UK. That's my dilemma.

Hello Novice, R301 here, The surgery I'm wanting to get is for Gynecomastia or benign male breast tissue growth it's a condition I've had since I was a kid and as you can imagine other kids weren't exactly kind and understanding so there is a lot of anger, sorrow, pain and self-loathing that goes along with that many years of abuse. Hi novice. I realize your probably quite busy but I have a question when you are up to it. I spent a huge fraction of my life in a quasi caretaker role that prevented me from traveling or frankly doing much of anything (or at least made me hestitant). I wasn't a caretaker in the traditional sense but I felt pressure to "be there" so to speak. I'm older now with nothing worth while to speak of and frankly bitter. I'm going to try to get some traveling done this year if the opportunity arises. I'm not as excited as I would have been when I was younger but I feel like it's something I should do. Hi Novice, I've just ended what might be a particularly horrifying phase of my life. I experienced setbacks, disappointments, relational aggression, unmet needs, and even fearing for my basic safety in the environment I left behind, both at work and in my social life. Upon reflection, many of my experiences have felt downright traumatic. I would elaborate further but don't want this post to be especially personally identifiable.

I will soon be "starting over again" in a new environment that i can already tell should be much healthier and a better fit for me. With that said, I still feel incredibly sad, disappointed, and regretful about some of the losses and "wasted time" I experienced in the old environment. I know there's at least SOME good gained from the time I spent there, but feel bad about the majority of it.
