For months, Kathie Lee has been going on about some movie she wrote and starred in. It was filmed Scotland. Her love interest in the film is Craig Ferguson! The way she described it, it's a theatrical film, not made for TV.

I worked in advertising traffic. If you don't know what that is I will explain. We were responsible for the placement and monetization of every second of a broadcast day. We worked very closely with sales, took direction from NBC network. We could not sell or get advertising in that section of the today show. Sales people would offer it in package deals, to try and pass it off.... to no avail.

We ended up putting TONS of promos and "make goods" (like a sorry we didn't get to run your ad during a news cut-in, etc).

Advertisers hated the KLG and Hoda hour.... HATED.

They felt she was silly. If I am honest many of them talked about her seeming "well oiled" for so early in the day. They didn't feel it was a good fit for their image. Oh, and the viewer complaints were unreal. It certainly wasn't exclusive to just oir affiliate.

I met her once at a fan event. She was very tiny looking and gave out licorice.

A few years ago, HGTV did a Christmas special where they sent designers to celebrity homes and decorated them for the holidays. They sent some gay guy to Kathie's house and she was salty and difficult. I got the impression that she's not pleasant to be around for expended periods.

Wait KLG is leaving the Today show? This is the first I'm hearing of this. She originally didn't want to join the Today show at first. Hoda and NBC had to beg and convince KLG to do the show.

One of the main reasons she didn't want to go back to doing television, was $$$. She said she had plenty of $$$ and was independently wealthy from her live years and all of those endorsement deals she had over the years. But some how hoda and NBC got her to say yes! And she joined the Today show.

I'm not surprised she's being pushed out if that's true. It's just the entertainment/media business, when you start getting up there they want new and fresh for business reasons. KLG is going to be fine though. She'll have more time to spend with her best friend Kris Jenner and drink wine.

Besides, she's a very wealthy woman.

She isn't being forced out, she is going to be a movie star.

I actually know KLG, and her assistant Christine, who has been with her for YEARS. She is cold at first meeting but then when she gets to know you warms up quickly. Yes, she is a raging alcoholic, which is sad but expected. She and Frank barely spoke in his last years, but in public put on a good show. When she sold her house in Nantucket a few years ago she got 4.5 M, so money is not an issue combine with her cruise ship, tv, and other endorsement money. Her house in Greenwich is spectacular, sits right on the LI Sound, property amazing as is all the houses on the property. I am not sure, but when Hoda was propelled to 7 am that is when I think she made the final decision to bolt. They have a love/hate thing going so don't believe the on-air bullshit. Her crew dubbed nickname when she was on the show with Regis was "SATAN" and that moniker stuck with her. The current crew smiles and puts up with her and yes, that is actual wine she drinks on-air and YES, that is not her first or last wine of the day. Thats it……..

RuPaul's personality only works on Drag Race because he's featured in short, measured doses. Whenever I've seen him outside of Drag Race, he often comes across as surly and pompous. There's no way he would be palatable to viewers on a daily basis. He and Hoda would come to blows by month two.
