There were rumours circulating about him Liverpool after he visited although I am not sure if they are true.

He featured in a local paper the Liverpool Echo were he spoke about how difficult it was for some young people to come out as gay .One local guy who did come out and spoke about it in a newspaper article went for a drink in a local gay bar called the Masquerade with John Barrowman and it was used as a photo opportunity for the papers article.

Rumour has it that he and Barrowman shagged like mad back at the hotel afterwards yet the newspaper article was presenting it as an older gay celebrity selflessly having an encouraging talk with a young guy who had struggled with his sexuality and was giving him advice for the future over a drink .
