Before puberty starts childen and parents can share an intimate bond (like seeing each other naked and the act of bathing together) that can establish familiar trust that could make puberty a lot easer for both children and parents when both parties can share their questions and concerns about issues related about kids going through puberty.

R84, I'd say the problem would be parents walking around naked in front of their children (other than when they're changing), sleeping nude etc. and not the bathing. There's an actual function to bathing. There's a reason why it was and is acceptable to do that after gym class, after swimming in a chlorinated pool, while you're skinny dipping etc. vs. why you can't do that any other time.

My parents growing up were the exact opposite of this. I never saw my dad in anything but fully dressed or in a bathrobe. The entire family took their clothes in with them when they bathed, and came out fully clothed. We were expected to bathe ourselves by 8/9. Even when we went to public pools or water parks, my dad changed in separate stalls.
