Any captions?
Vintage pictures of women posing with their Christmas trees in the 50s and 60s

I would LOVE to have this silver tree (first pic) for myself! I now kinda LOVE the tinsel trees they railed about in Charlie Brown Christmas. I remember Martha Stewart's magazine had a pictorial on vintage tinsel trees and they were glorious.

I don't have any captions but these images are exactly like the ones conjured in my mind when DLers speak of their 'mother's impeccable taste', 'elegance' and 'class'.

Oh my, I want to party with the woman in the silver dress, next to the silver tree with the silver, side-swept Miss Soft Shell Crab Von Tussle hairdo! I want her to invite the giant haired black woman in the belted dress over for cards and snacks. I want the eye glasses frames of the lady in striped jammies. I want whatever everyone is drinking in the various party glasses/goblets. Also, some of these women appear very unhappy to pose for a Christmas tree photo.

I would gladly attend a cocktail party at about half of those homes.

I kept expecting to see someone from my family.

I remember Mrs. Davenport down the street. She always seemed sad, probably because of that ne'er-do-well daughter of her.

I wonder if she flips or scoops the flapjacks.

The holiday dresses are FABULOUS! The broad in the pink and long sleeve gloves with a glass of wine is a dude.

The woman in her long johns is sporting a nice camel toe.

"Ok Bill. You made me give my time to this pseudo sectarian christian cult holiday, you fucking fascist, but notice I'm not smiling. One day soon they'll be a revolution of the female prisoner-class infrastructure and we're going to ram these Christmas trees right up the your patriarchal ass holes."

I was born in the wrong era, those aluminum trees are just so beautiful to me as well as the white one and flocked tree.

Why is the little boy (in the pic with the woman wearing striped pajamas) wearing a cowboy outfit? lol

R20 Have you seriously never seen A Christmas Story?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 18, 2020 4:33 PM |
Why is the woman in the short red skirt posing with a chamber pot? That photo is troubling on many levels.

The second one is the taffeta red is rather glamorous. The lady with the dachshund is cute!

All these pictures just prove that you should never, EVER drink, put on that sexy little outfit and stand next to a Christmas tree when there's a camera in the room

R22 No, just a June Allyson fan.

Cowboy/girl suits were popular Xmas gifts, with holsters, pop guns, boots & fringe for the win! I had a red & black! one!
