Margot Robbie was ‘embarrassed’ to film topless Wolf of Wall Street sex scene in front of 30 men
Most will remember the Australian actress seducing her on-screen husband, Leonardo DiCaprio, in their child’s nursery before later hopping into bed together. The intimate bedroom scene in particular saw Margot, 28, strip off and, naturally, it wasn’t the most comfortable filming experience with 30 other strange men watching the actress in the buff. Recalling the awkwardness in an interview with Porter, Margot said: ‘It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in. All men.’
She added: ‘For 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and the absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.’ Margot has previously revealed that she had to audition for the movie with that scene in particular, so she was certainly put through her paces for the Oscar-nominated movie. Elsewhere in the interview, Margot admitted that she didn’t know what constituted as sexual harassment until the #MeToo movement unfolded.
The Hollywood star explained: ‘I’m in my late twenties, I’m educated, I’m worldly, I’ve traveled, I have my own business, and I didn’t know. That’s insane. ‘I didn’t know that you could say “I have been sexually harassed” without someone physically touching you, that you could say “That’s not OK”. I had no idea. I now know because I’ve researched what constitutes illegal sexual harassment so as to have negative connotations for your job and how you get paid.’

Wall St was a really shitty film all round , a big, stupid straight boy's hymn in praise to greedy wankers. It made me think twice about Scorsese whose genius seems to be in making Goodfellas over and over again. I've been told I missed the irony. Irony ? This article doesn't even get the film synopsis right. The scene in the nursery doesn't lead to onscreen nudity or sex. Robbie's one nude scene is the one pictured in R19, and it's long before the two characters get married.

I think a main point that you are missing is that she had to perform in person in a small space with all men.
Maybe gay men cannot relate to that dynamic because they are men or because they think being the focal point of so many men’s desire is hot.
The filming circumstances speaks to the industry’s problem with women being shut out of filmmaking at multiple levels.
