The problem with Brooke Shields is that her beauty peaked in her teenage years. It was weird how her looks changed as she grew older, almost 6 feet and her facial features changed. Diane, Jennifer, Liz, Catherine, etc., their beauty lasted well into their 30s and beyond. (Diane Lane in HOC looks sensational).

I agree. She's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. One thing that made her face mysteriously memorable is that in addition to such symetry, the features are all slightly oversized (perhaps because of her sheer height). And then her heavy brows throw something unexpected into the mix, disrupting the delicacy.

Those of you praising the beauty of a young Brooke Shields must realize you are praising the beauty of a child wearing makeup. The handsomeness you say she had in her twenties was her adult visage.

This teenage beauty metric should almost be divided into age ranges like 12-15 and 16-19. Growth occurs in the cranial bones and features change because we are still developing from juveniles to adults. Compare with how a boy’s face changes from age 13 to 19–changes are more extreme in boys but it occurs in girls as well.

Are we rating juvenile beauty or adult here? Neotony is the retention of juvenile characteristics in the adult and it is the exception, not the rule. I can appreciate a child’s beauty and I can appreciate an adult’s in a different way because there is a distinction. I guess I find it creepy and gross to put 13 year old beauty on a pedestal because it is not fully grown. But then I am not a fan of all the extreme shaving of body parts because it looks adolescent to me and I am attracted to adults. Adults have body hair and fully formed features.
