Jewel Kilcher, has anyone met her?

I don't remember anyone calling her Jewel Kilcher except when her book of poems came out. She's just Jewel to me.

Jewel Kilcher seems less awkward than Jewel, the singer.

Met her a few times. She's nice enough. Kinda standoffish. But ... without even asking, she wrote me a poem. That was nice.

Her cousin is Q'orianka Kilcher who played Pocahontas in Terrence Malick's THE NEW WORLD.

Actually, that was kind of depressing what happened to her in the karaoke bar. (She did a make-under on her hair, makeup, and clothing.) She had the same beautiful (to me) voice, but the karaoke bar denizens were condescending to her (Jewel) because she looked like Debbie from Accounting.

I've met her relatives in Alaska (Discovery Channel's Alaska: The Last Frontier) during a summer trek years ago. They were very welcoming people but the stink of b.o. was overwhelming.

I worked with her. She's very sweet and down to earth.

Many years ago I went to a dinner in Santa Monica for a friend's birthday. Her manager had Jewel perform. She was a new client nobody had yet heard of. She was great, in beautiful voice and as sweet as can be.

I loved the clip. Jewel's disguise was great.
